Modifying a Pages Template - How?

Greetings!
I'm using the template in the "Flyers" section which is simply called "Flyer." I am trying to change the color and possibly size of the top horizontal shape, but no matter what I do I can't seem to select it. It's as though it's locked. I've even tried exporting to Word, then reopening the file to see if that might "unlock" the shape, but no luck.
Can anyone help? I'd really appreciate it.

Apple provides these templates for two purposes: 1) to give users attractive starting points so that they don't have to reinvent the wheel in order to make beautiful documents; and 2) to show users all the different ways similar tasks can be accomplished.
In the case of the Flyer template, the horizontal color bar isn't an object, which is why you can't select it. It's a header. The text was simply typed into the header area. If you place your cursor at the end of the text, and hit a carriage return, you'll see the header expand. To change the color, click on the Text inspector > More > and look at the Background Fills checkboxes. The one for Paragraph is checked, and the color swatch shows the color that was chosen, in this case green. Click on the swatch, select the little box of crayons to the right of the icon bar, then choose a different color crayon.

You copy the first corrected business card and paste it in the other cards. You can use Cpoy and Paste, Option + drag or use Cmd + d to duplicate the first card.

How to get the pre-population on modify account page?

Hi,
I am working on OIM 11g R2 PS1 and have a following requirement :
User has to modify his existing email id through a request. User goes to modify account page, where all other fields from process form is hidden and only 'Email Address' field is displayed to the user to modify.
I have to pre-populate the 'Email Address' attribute with some system generated logic on this modify account page. How to achieve that? (either a system generated dynamic label or system generated logic on the email address attribute itself)
Any idea? As per my knowledge we cannot have pre-population on modify page, like we have on create page.
Kindly suggest how to achieve this requirement.

Hi,
Let me explain in this way:
1) User got some default email address first time, this is not through any request.[e.g [email protected]]
2) Now the user got married and she wants to change her email address as per her new lastname(through a request).[First name: Neha , Last Name : pqr]
3) So she will go to the modify account of the resource and will change her email id, here we have to display an oim suggested email address which is available, on modify page, this logic we will generate through java code.
[oim suggested email address: [email protected]]
That's why we want only on modify page not on create page, as creation of email address is not requestable.

I get to resolve any items. Anything important are:
- you can to view a structure of page template. The first you view it in the menu Shared Components >> Templates. There is a icon in the column "Preview" for the page, report and region template items. In the click on the icon you can view a template structure that should be shown in the execution.
- You can view where will be inserted a region on the option "display point". You need to click on the icon in the right of the "display point" option;
Well, If you pay attention in the two options you will know how to modify a template and how to create.

When I use the Administration Portal to create a page with portlets in the Portal Resource Library, I can choose to use that page it in my portal. The problem is that I can use it only once. How can I crate a page template with portlets so I can use use it as a template for many page instances in one portal?
I'm using Portal 8.1.6.

Seeing that you are familiar with Photoshop, but not with Dreamweaver I assumed you are a designer. If my assumption is not correct, the rest of the message does not apply.
You could try Adobe Muse for your task. Its purpose is to aid designers create HTML websites without writing code.

How to set a page template for news detailed view?

Is there a way to set a page template for the detailed view of the news module?
I have a page template setup and added the {module_announcement,,,,,} to the page. When the news item is clicked it always opens the default template - is this how it is designed to work or is there a way I can specify it to use a different page template?

How to change page template for a single page?

I create a new document based on the Pages "Reports > Business Report".
Now the first page is formatted as a "Cover" page with a larger top margin.
Via "Format > Advanced > Manage Pages..." I see there are what I assume are the "Page Templates":
- Cover
- Table of Contents
- Chapter Page
- Text Page
- Appendix
My question: How can I change the template for a single page in my document? E.g. I don't want Page #1 to be formatted as "Cover". I'd like it to be a "Text Page".
Any hints?

Just delete the Cover section and insert a Text Page.
Click on:
+Toolbar > View > Page Thumbnails+
Click on the Cover thumbnail, it will be outlined in yellow, hit delete.
It may start off with certain defaults but you do not have to accept them.

I don't if this issue is before or since installation of 10.8 (a nightmare in my case, which led to significant failure issues). And because I haven't tried to remove templates since finally managing to install 10.8 (now at 10.8.4), I don't know if this is typical of the newer OS or a problem. I've been a Mac user for more than 25 years, but I think I'm nearing the end of the road. By the way, I've never needed to do this before because the manuals always offered an answer... they don't seem to do that anymore. In any case, I don't know how this works... I'd prefer an email reply if that's possible. But that would probably be too easy, and I don't know how to get a reply.

Thanks, I appreciate the help. I think this is one of the problems Apple is creating by changing the OS so often. I had fomer colleagues at [a major aerospace contractor] who told me that so many original files were ultimately lost because of the deadly change in the "Save As" operation that they are now afraid of every OS update. Apple has badly damaged their support base with that very prominent company (they won't update now until they've fully examined and understand changes in the pre-conditioned nature of OS computer functions), and they are a whole lot less enthaled with Mac-related equipment/software. Can't blame them, I too used orginal files that way (as easy-to-use templates), and lost some important files before I realized what was happening (to late to revert). Companies should not have to retrain employees each time an OS gets an update, it's can be very expensive several different ways. They learned a painful lesson with that one. And because I'm now retired and don't use multiple devices, I need iCloud like I need a hole in the head... but I'm told there's no way to keep Apple out of my computer. Fortunately, because of major problems when initially installing Mountain Lion, one hold-over of the hardware/software damage I experienced was that iCloud can no longer access my computer even though everything else is working fine again. That was the only "good luck" I had as a result of that expensive nightmare.

How do you manage Pages templates in Lion?

Apple have removed access to the User/Library folder under Lion. How can Pages templates be managed, deleted, renamed etc? Apple should either bring back access to the library folder or update Page, so that a user can manage templates within the Pages Application.

I am using jdeveloper 11g.
I designed a page template that contains a <af:activeImage> component. I use this component with <af:showPopupBehaviour> to show a popup when it is clicked.
I want to change the image of <af:avtiveImage> when it is clicked at the runtime. Is it possible to do this in a page template? How can I do this?

Substitution strings are meant to be static, like global constants.
If you need some variable stuff, use application level items and set them using Application level computations/processes

Pages stores those you created & saved as templates in (your account) > Library > Application Support > iWork > Pages > Templates > My Templates. The user's Library is hidden in Lion & Mountain Lion but it is easy to open. In Finder, hold down the Option key while clicking on the Go menu & your user Library will appear about halfway down the list. Or you can choose Go to Folder from the Go menu in Finder & paste this line in the box:
~/Library/Application Support/iWork/Pages/Templates/My Templates/
