Modifying a templates buttons/links

I have no real experience of using flash and have only ever
created simple websites with publisher and with Template programs.
I have found a flash template that I have started to modify for my
website. (it is temporarily uploaded at www.livinginspain.dk/20). I
don't have any problems setting up the text or the graphics. The
template has an index template and a home template. The index is of
course the top buttons and the logo etc. and the home is the four
smaller sections at the bottom (news and events/shop and showrom
etc.) I have made a new html file and SWF file with CS4 called
contacts. I obviously want that went I press contacts on the
website the text at the bottom changes to the contacts html file
and SWF file. Can someone please tell me in simple terms how to do
this!! I don't really understand all the jargon words yet but I
would be able to use the site properly if I can get this function
to work. The website is being announced on Wednesday so I really
need some help as soon as possible. Any help is really
appreciatted.

I had similar issues when running the No Script add-on. Even though I had allowed all scripts on the page, some buttons still refused to work. Disabling the No script add-on, resolved my issue. At the time, I was running Firefox 3.6.10 on Ubuntu, with No-Script 2.0.3.2.

Can there be buttons/links on or in flash object?

Hi, I have no idea how to ask this question properly. I am only designing this, not making it, so simple answers for me would be good, but also technical answers that I can pass on to the flash person.
On my home page, I am going to have 3 images that switch out, each that need to have a "learn more >" link and a 1, 2, 3, and pause buttons.
My question is whether or not these image buttons/links can be placed on or embedded in the flash object. I read this is not possible and that buttons or links have to be separate from flash. Ideally if I wanted to place a "go" button on top of my flash image, that would be great.
However I have been told the only option is to make one side of this in photoshop where I have the buttons and then place that next to the flash image. My example of this would be the msn.com home page.
If further descriptions are needed I can post an example.

Your image hasn't loaded yet, so I'll describe what you should do. Chances are you will only need one set of buttons to manage everything rather than creating a set for each image.
If you want to convert each of these items into usable buttons, then select one of them, being sure that all its pieces are selected, then right click on it and select Convert to Symbol ( select it and in the toolbar choose Modify -> Convert to Symbol).
In the interface that appears, select Button (you could also select MovieClip, but for now, select Button) and give it a name that relates to its functionality in some way, just so it is recognizable by its name in the library. Click OK.
Do that for all of the items you want to turn into buttons. To make things easier to manage, you should place the buttons on their own layer in the timeline.
If you are handing this over to someone who knows Flash, they should be able to deal with coding the buttons to function the way you want.

How to modify Data Template ARXSGPO.xml

We are on EBS 12.1.1. My client want to customize AR Customer Balance Statement Letter. They need rtf to be modified as well as some additional info for which I need to modify Data Template ARXSGPO.xml .
But I am not able to modify above xml file. Update File button has been disabled. Could someone tell me how I can update existing xml file ?

You could use the XDOLoader command to upload data templates.

But it would be better if you could create a custom report and attach the new date template, instead of modifying the standard report.

Is there a way to create new Template Based Buttons? For instance, I'd like to create a MAGENTA template based button and have it appear in my list of template based buttons along with 'Hot Button (Black)', 'Small Hot Button (Red)', and the others. I know how to create an HTML button, but for consistency and appearance I'd rather create and use the nicer looking Template Based Buttons, with their rounded corners and slight 3-D effect. Can someone point me in the right direction to get started?

If you're not familiar with HTML and CSS, then you'll need to get to grips with the basics of those as well.
The basic process is:
<li>Use a web inspector (included in real browsers like Safari, Chrome, Firefox+Firebug) to see how the existing buttons in the theme are constructed using CSS and images.
<li>Create images with the colours/textures required for the appearance of the new buttons.
<li>Create a new button template as a copy of the existing one that's closest to your requirements. It will at least require a new HTML <tt>class</tt> name, plus any other HTML modifications you need to make.
<li>Create a new CSS style sheet to apply the style(s) for the new class of button.
<li>Modify page templates to include/reference the new style sheet.
<li>Deploy the style sheet and images to the location required in your configuration.

Html Button Disable/ Template button?

I am certain that there is a post out here I just cannot find it.
I have a bunch of users who are remote and have various connection speeds.
They get inpatient and click my Template Based button multiple times
Causing multple entries
I have changed my button to a HTML button and use the
Optional URL Redirect
javascript:{this.disabled=true;doSubmit('Create');}
to disable
This works but the button is "A html button"
IS there a way to have the HTML button look like my Template Buttons?

I have also attempted to create a new button template using #Button_Attribute# substituted for #link# in template but I cannot get the Button to Disable

You could create an image that looks like the template button is rendered, and create a custom button template using <input type="image" #BUTTON_ATTRIBUTES#...>, specifying src="image_url" alt="image_alt_text" in the Button Attributes.

TEMPLATE Button Region without Title

I am trying to complete the âHow to Build and Deploy an Issue Tracking Applicationâ from the â2Day Developerâ document.
On page 10-29 I am told to select the Template âButton Region without Titleâ template.
I only see five templates â¦. (%, No Template, and three âMaroon templates). I used the utility to load CSSs into the repository but donât recall seeing anything about loading templates.
Where are the templates after one initially installs HTTMLDB ? Are they in the â\htmldb\images\templatesâ folder and do they need to be imported from there?
Speaking of the repository --- where does it actually reside and who owns it?
If there is a document out there that has answers to all those questions Iâll refer to that if anyone has a link.

Turns out the customer was experiencing periodic problems with "classic" web toolkit issues, i.e. broken pages with "<htm" appearing etc.
However, after bringing forward their plans to apply the patch - now at 10.1.2.0.6 - and checking the DAD character set is AL32UTF8, this issue persists. As well as afflicting the template mentioned above, it is now also intermittently affecting a more complex Named Column report template (depending on whether columns are included in the report or not).
For the button region template, this is happening consistently wherever it appears (it's used on a multi-page wizard), and the first 5 characters of the template are always stripped, whatever they are - valid markup, whitespace, gibberish...

For anyone else reading this thread, it is worth knowing that sometimes an email is, or can be, corrupted thereby jamming the works. The solution above is good, but I just wanted to suggest another one.
If the problem arises, go to an online mail access service, such as Mail2Web.com and login to you mail account there and delete the offending message.
Problem solved.
And George, as this is all entirely voluntary, whinging about no takers may not endear people to you. Besides which, a few minutes of searching on Google would have found you a number of solutions.

Why text and button links on a PDF do not work in the iPad

I have Acrobat Pro 9.2.3 and InDesign CS5.
I've tried creating both button and text links directly from InDesign (Window > Interactive > Hyperlinks). I then export the multi-page PDF with "Acrobat 6 and Above" selected as well as the "Hyperlinks" and "Interactive Elements" checked. When I open the PDF in my iPad, none of the text or button links work.
Then . . .
I tried opening the same multi-page PDF in Acrobat Pro, and manually created the link boxes (Tools > Advanced Editing > Link Tool). The iPad still can't interprete these two interactive elements.
Any clues what I'm doing wrong?

Try exporting as ePub - now test inside Digital Editions and if OK - drag the file into iTunes and synch to iPhone/iPad.
It's probably a Preview issue as mentioned but exporting to ePub is good fun!

How to call a help file from a WAD Template button

Hi All
I need to implement a button in a web template when I press the button it displays another HTML or text file it is mainly on help on the report.
I am just wondering how to store this HTML or text file in the system and what function to implement in the web template button ti display this text or HTML when the button is pressed.

Please try this out:
With WAD 3.5 it's easy. You could use javascript function: window.open().
window.open("/sap/bw/Mime/Customer/.../file.htm","NewWindow","width=750,height=700,left=100,top=100");
Try using the SCRIPT Item in WAD 7.0. You can use the same code within the SCRIPT Item and call the function which has been defined in the Script Item, in the XHTML part of the Template.
It may help.
Or put the file in another web template and on click of a button, the new template opens up and displays the content of the file.
Not sure though if the latter one would be useful, its just a thought.

Now I have a problem with button link to object stanbard (17 is Sale order object).
I have to use button link and Editbox on the new form, then I set button link to this editbox and set LinkedObject=17 in screen painter. I have run this form i select Sale Order document Number on this Editbox and i click button link to sale order that show data following my selected.. but it can't not open sale order and alert message "You are not permitted to perform this action [Message 200-30]".. so how can i set permitted to perform this action. pls help me...

Unable to upload the updated/modified Report template (rtf file) in siebel

Hi,
I am unable to upload the updated/modified Report template (rtf file) if already exists in the local database.
Initially I have uploaded a rtf template, generated xliff, registered it and can view the report from the registered view. Later I have made few changes to the rtf template, in the reports template view, I have uploaded this. When i run the report in the registered view, I am able to see the earlier version and it doesnt show me the updated changes.
I am using 8.1.1.3 siebel and BIP 10.1.3.3.1 on local.
Looking at the metalink found "How To Upload Modified RTF Template Files In The Siebel Application For BI Publisher Reporting [ID 1136418.1]" which is related to server but I am working on local database
Please find attached the template, xml file. can you please look into this and update me ASAP

Not able to find Report - Standard templates or Report - Custom templates view in Administration - BIP reports in Siebel 8.1.1.3?
We have applied 8.1.1.3 patch on 8.1.1.0
below are the steps followed
Reports are not generated after 8.1.1.3 patch installtion.
we have also followed to below steps mentioned for this issue in oracle support.
"In order to resolve this behavior it is necessary to ensure that the 8.1.1.3 FixPack has been applied to the Siebel Tools installation. This will provide an additional .zip file in the REPPATCH folder of the Siebel Tools installation. Once this has been done please then follow the configuration steps as documented :
change sysprefix to X_ before sif import and chage back to SBL_ after sif import.
1) Import the sif files from Siebel\8.1\Tools_1\REPPATCH\12-1VMBCSV.zip
2) Import the 4 SIF files in the following order:
S_XMLP_REP_TMPL_02112010.sif
SBL_XMLP_REPORT_SELECTION_FLG.sif
Report Template BC.sif
Report Template Registration Applet.sif
3)Apply the DDL for table S_XMLP_REP_TMPL and compile repository
Once the above steps have been completed the Selected Record flag will appear in the Report Template Registration views."

Try:
- Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Go to Settings>iTunes and App Stores and sifnout and sign back in
- Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.
- Restore from backup. See:

- Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.

How can I set a button/link that is visible on all slides?

I want to add a button/link that is automatically visible on all slides (whole project). But it seems it does not work. Any help?

Hello,
It depends on your version. I hope you are on CP6 or later. In that case you have two possiblities:
a shape button on the main master slide (and be sure that all daughter master slides have the objects of the main master slide)
a shape button on the first slide, timed for the rest of the project.
