Modifying Flash Video Sound Track

Hi
Having a problem with my video. I'm doing a projector file,
so I'm importing the video into the library so that I don't have
any external files to deal with.
When I import the video the sound is really quiet. I've tried
bumping up the volume in iMovie and re-exporting it as a .mov file,
but when I bring it back into flash, the sound isn't coming in.
I've also tried converting the new version of the .mov to an
flv using ffmpeg, but when it comes into flash, its still not as
loud as when I play the .mov in quicktime or play the flv in
flv_viewer.
Does Flash change the volume setting when importing video? if
so, how do you get the volume back up to 100%

well,i would advice you to take a multitrack reacording by having all the instruments outs from the console outputs into your interface ,incase you want to make a mixdown later with atmosphere of the show it self ,and at the same time take main output from the mixer to your interface as well ,so u have both !:)and let logic do the rest of the job! also u can use a midi time code out from your interface to your light mixer in case you have a lioght show to be in sync with your music show...cheers.!

  • Supplementing video sound track

I want to record our band from the main mixing desk during our live show so I have a better quality sound track than what's on the video cameras recording it. What is the easiest set up to get there? I have made several recordings in Logic Pro using my M-Audio Profire interface with no problems (audio, midi and stereo inputs etc.) I will want to sync up the sound with the video later in Final Cut Express but I have not used Sound Track Pro yet. Should I just take a stereo feed out of the desk to a new track in Logic Pro and let it run? Anyone have suggestions?

  • Modify Flash Video Bandwidth Template

    Good Day.
I'm hoping someone might be able to give me an idea as to
    what I'm doing wrong...
Using Flash MX Pro 2004 with the built-in template, Video
    > Bandwidth Select. I'm tring to pass a URL varible of a FLV
movie name to the actionscript in the 3rd screen (select screen). I
have tried EVERYTHING I can think of to dynamically pass a varible
(in this case a movie name) to SWF. I have tried using flashvars
and URL variables (but not text files as it adds more complexity).
I just can't get it to work. When I manage to get something to show
up, like in a simple text box, it always says 'undefined'.
Can anyone tell what I'm doing wrong... or can you not do
    this with this template?
    Thank you, so kindly.
    Joseph Krogman.

What I need is to be able to take flash 9, AS3 swfs, import
them into a Director 11 project, and interact with the flash
funcitons, call them, set properties, etc. Despite the
documentation on the Adobe Director page saying this is possible, I
have not been able to get it to work, and other posters on this
board have stated that it is currently not possible. Any clarity or
examples would help. I notice Director 11 has no entries concerning
Director/flash programming yet on the Adobe Developer page, just
    tutorials for MX2004.

  • Beginner here - build to FLASH - video tracks missing sound?

OK...was reading some other forum entries on audio problems...way over my head...here goes my problem:
I can see it all working perfectly (including all sound) under Encore's preview all the sound for the videos are there...sound for Main Menu...sound for Secondary Menu...sound for slide show...sound for videos...I did a ULTRA build...
After doing a Flash build...which looked like it completed normally...I brought the .html file up...all the functionality works EXCEPT...no sound for the video clips.
Any ideas why? If you have an answer please dummie it down for me!
    Thanks, --bill

    David,
My hat is off to you for persevering with Encore 3 and getting it to output flash video. AFter reading that you had gotten it to work, I was inspired to try once again. This time I encoded my timeline to DVCPro HD by exporting the FCP project to Compressor. I then took this timeline (an 11 minute video) into Encore 3 and tried to build a flash DVD. I have a main menu and scene selection menu, and they both transcoded fine in about 20 minutes, but once again when Encore got to my timeline, the progress bar moved to about 1-2% and simply stayed there. After 7 hours I finally gave up and canceled the transcode which had never progressed any further and did a Force Quit on Encore.
I noticed in doing the above, that during the transcode of the menus Activity Monitor shows my cpu is reading 170-190 and varying as you would expect. Once Encore hits my timeline and begins the transcode of that, the cpu drops to 100 and remains there with no real sign of activity.
Can you tell me if your DVD that you successfully output to flash with Encore 3 had chapter marks in it? I am wondering if they could be the trouble. Some people have indicated that they solved the problem by going back to an earlier version of Quicktime. I am using version 7.5 of Quicktime, which is the latest version. Can you tell me what version of Quicktime you are using on the Mac that succeeded in outputting to Flash video using Encore 3?
    Thanks again for your help.

When I have video clips on my timeline, they do not play in the monitor screen. I hear the sound track but can not see the image. To test if my new files are somehow the problem, I went back and used video files that I used successfully a year ago, and they no longer play in the monitor window. I hear the sound track, but do not see any video. Have I changed some setting that controls video playback in the monitor window?

    Thanks for the follow up.
Missing in this equation were the version of Premiere Elements that you were using and the computer operating system on which it was running. But...
The deed is done. But.....Until now and after you went ahead and moved to version 12, we now learn what version of Premiere Elements you were using. We still do not know the computer operating system involved.
You just said Premiere Elements 10. Premiere Elements 10 is hit by a serious known display issue if the computer uses a NVIDIA GeForce video card/graphics card. In this issue, the only remedy is to roll back the driver version to about May 2013. The description of the problem and how to do the roll back are described in one of the Announcements at the top of this forum. What video card/graphics card does your computer use?
On another front, Adobe will be releasing a new version of Premiere Elements any day now. No one but Adobe knows the feature set for the new version. That type of information is announced at the moment of release of the new version.
So the remedy to the problem that you presented in this thread could have been...
    1. Rolling back the NVIDIA GeForce driver version to about May 2013 if possible (Windows 8 or 8.1 64 bit, may not be possible)
    2. Move to another version of Premiere Elements (which you did)
I offer the above for consideration so that you can review your decisions. We are pleased to learn that Premiere Elements 12/12.1 works for you.
Please do not hesitate to ask questions and ask for clarifications, but remember that the answers are in the details.
    Best wishes,

I also have Jolly's problem. I found the iMovie 9.0.9 folder and tried to launch the older version of iMove. It would not launch. I removed all of the iMovie preferences from the Preferences folder, removed iMove 10 from the applications folder, and restarted my Mac. iMove 9.0.9 still won't launch and I can't access my videos created with the older version of iMovie. Is there a way to uninstall iMovie 10 and reinstall iMovie 9.0.9?

  • MacPro whirring sound with Flash video

I have a MacPro (early 2008) with an ATI Radeon HD 2600 XT card. Whenever I'm on a website using Safari that displays Flash video (an ad or a slideshow, etc) I hear a medium-pitched whirring sound. Despite sticking my ear close to the inside of the Mac, I can't determine if it's coming from the video card, a fan, or a hard drive. I read that there is a recall on certain serials of this video card but the defect would cause distorted or no video at all. I'm using the latest version of Snow Leopard with 8gb ram. Mac Pro QuadCore Intel Xeon 2x2.8Ghz.
    Any feedback is appreciated.
    Glen

This could be coming from the fan on the video card.  Think of it this way, when flash comes up on screen, it uses more video processing power.  This in turn heats up the GPU, which in turn can increase the fan speed and thereby elevating the volume level of the fan in operation.
This isn't necessarily the issue, but there is a better than average possibility, and it does happen to fit the facts.  How does it sound when you try other graphically intensive operations on the computer?  If it does the same thing I think you have found your answer.
Doesn't necessarily mean anything is wrong, but I don't have alot for comparison as I have a pair of video cards in my computer, but they never got the chance to use factory cooling as before I installed them, I added Arctic Cooling Accelero Pro V2 to each card.  These are super quiet.

  • No Sound in Flash Videos but other sounds work fine.

    OS - Win 7 Enterprise sp1
    Flash Player version - 11.1.102.55
RealTek High Def audio driver ver - 6.0.1.6201
Rolling out a new Image for our offices, everything seemed ok then someone was complaining about no sound.  Turns out  Flash Videos(youtube) play but if you unplug the headphones and plug them back in you don't get audio unless your refresh the page.  This behaviour only occurs in Flash videos, Windows sounds ok, Media played through Media player ok, Quick time ok, just the Flash videos are affected.  I havent' been able to find a solution.
Most up to date audio drivers,Flash player.
As a side note, I did a install of nothing but Windows 7 and it does the same thing so there isn't anything I'm adding.
    Any help would be appreciated.
    Mark

If I understand properly, the audio will play all the time if you don't unplug the headphone while you are playing the flash video, then it works?  It only doesn't work when you unplug the headphone and put it in while Flash Video is playing?  And the workaround is refresh the page.
This sounds like the expected behavior in the current player.
If you think this is bug need to take care, you can post it to http://forums.adobe.com/community/flashplayer/using_flashplayer (release player forum) or log a bug in the bugbase.

  • Crackling/substandard sound in flash videos (YouTube etc) regardless of video quality setting.

    Hi all,
I hope you can help! Apologies if this is in the wrong forum, I'm struggling to find the best place to put this.
    1. a summary of your issue
Crackling/substandard sound in flash videos (YouTube etc) regardless of video quality setting.
    2. the type of computer you use—Mac or PC?
    Desktop PC.
Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit, all updates installed.
    3. steps you've already taken to troubleshoot
The problem occurs after installing Adobe Flash Player 15 Plugin to any browser (I mainly use FireFox). It's listed as Adobe Flash Player 15 ActiveX when I installed it for Internet Explorer.
Before installing it, I can hear the videos fine but I am limited to a maximum of 720p quality on YouTube.
I removed my sound and graphics drivers, after restart Windows 7 decides it will install them again but as the generic/universal ones. No change.
I've heard that because I have the Windows Aero theme activated, I need to disable hardware acceleration - tried this in various ways:
    a) Generic PnP monitor Troubleshoot tab - Change Settings button is greyed out (whether or not I have the real/generic/universal graphics drivers installed). Can't find a way through nVidia control panel to do this either.
    b) Disabled hardware acceleration in FireFox - no change.
    c) Found on your forum here that I can go to a page which will check my Flash version, in theory I could right-click it, hit Settings and disable hardware acceleration there - no "Settings" option in right-click menu. Seems the page has changed.
I can't seem to find a way to interface with Flash directly to disable hardware accelerattion - if this is indeed the solution.
Regardless of Windows Aero theme, I've got it on basic theme now and still the same problem.
I recently reformatted and re-installed my PC, it was working fine before I did this (maybe I had an old Flash release installed?).
I'm at my wit's end... please help!

Sorry, it's all sorted now. After re-installing the sound drivers, decided to tinker with the settings one by one. I had my Creative sound card in Game Mode, thus it was assuming 2.1 speakers aka headphones. Put it in Entertainment Mode and it recognised all the 5.1 speakers for flash videos. Doh!

  • Sometimes no sound in flash videos after boot?

Sometimes after I boot up the machine, I get no sound in flash videos. First I didn't know why it was happening, but as I read a few articles here on forum, I found out it was because of my USB webcam (logitech) - alsa was messing something up and didn't know how to handle sound drivers well (so they say). So one of the suggestions I found was to force the (in my case) snd_hda_intel module load before snd_usb_audio module during the boot process. I thought it worked, but after a while the same problem appeared again. If I just unplug the webcam from my computer, sound works perfectly on each boot, but I don't want to get down and insart the cam everytime I need it... Anyone have any suggestions what I should try to fix this? If I need to provide more information - please tell, and I'll provide it, just say which and how.
    thanks

  • No sound in flash videos

I would like to say that I am not a native speaker and English is my second language.
Well, back to the topic. Sometimes safari stop playing sounds in flash videos. Its annoying because the only solution I found is to quit safari, start garage band, quit garage band and start safari again. After some research I found out that there is something wrong with sound frequency in preferences. Is there a permanent solution for this?

    MIDI setup is set correct.
I did restart my computer. I know how to fix the issue. But I am sick of neverending Garage Band solving. Is there any pernament solution?

  • Bass-sound disappear when exporting to Adobe Flash Video format

I'm making a guitar-tutorial on video, and want to export parts of it to Adobe Flash video by using Adobe Media Encoder. But when I do that, it sounds like the bass-sound of the band disappear. The sound generally becomes low also. Maybe there is a connection. Anyway, with the sound I have now, I can't use the video in flash format :-(
I've tried bitrates of both 128 and 256 kbps, which should be more than plenty.
    Help would be appreciated.

I selected DVD/CDROM in the "Data Rate" category...?
Umm....I assume you're exporting from FCP using QuickTime conversion,
so you can choose a QuickTime movie, H.264, and choose
    Frame Rate: Current
    Key Frames: Automatic
    Frame Reordering: Checked
    Quality: Best
    Encoding: Best
Data Rate: Automatic ... which then means you don't need to choose DVD/CDROM.
Give that a try and see how it looks.

  • Flash videos start having messed up sound

    Hello there.
I never shutdown my PC and thus also not my programs, including the browser. After my browser (I've tried Firefox, Chromium and Opera, all with the same result) has been running for a while (1-3 days) flash videos will playback with messed up sound. By that I mean that the sound will stutter heavily and loop that stuttering second over and over. I then just shutdown the browser, start it up again and watch the video again. Then it takes a day or so and the same stuff happens. It's not a mindboggling hassle to restart my browser every other day, but I've had this problem for *ages* now (maybe a year or something like that) and I'd really like to know if there's a way to fix it.

I think that happens when flash crashes. It happens to me if I use it a lot for a prolonged period of time - like whole day watching movies / listening to music via flash-based players.
The sound stutters just like in your case and it goes away after I restart the browser.
As long as it involves flash, you will suffer as I don't know any way of permanently fixing it. You can move to html5-based media or download the videos and watch them from your hard drive.

  • No sound on flash videos on the internet after suspend and hibernate

    I have this:
00:1b.0 Audio device: Intel Corporation 82801G (ICH7 Family) High Definition Audio Controller
Everytime I resume from suspend or hibernate with firefox open alongside with fully loaded flash videos, playing the videos doesn't produce any sound anymore.  I need to restart firefox in order to make it work again..:(
    Any ideas?
Thanks for the help in advance

I'm also having this problem.  Xfmedia plays audio just fine before and after suspend/resume, but pandora.com and hulu.com in firefox do not.  Also noticed that CPU usage skyrockets when trying to restart audio/video after resume in pandora/hulu.  In hulu, video restarts, but audio does not.
Interestingly, CPU usage also spikes if I restart audio in Xfmedia after resume, but the CPU hog is firefox not Xfmedia and Xfmedia audio plays just fine.  Have to close the hulu or pandora tab to get the CPU usage back to normal.  Wondering if it's just a bug in flash for linux.
