Modifying Pages templates?

Have used the "club" newsletter template for a newsletter and now want to modify it to include a logo at the top of the pageCan't figure out how to move the dateline header at the top down to make room for logo. Apple help didn't have any answer and referred me here. This should be easy and straightforward but it isn't.
Anyone know how to the modify this template to move objects, including dateline, down on page?
Simple delete of that line of text also removed it from all other pages. Cannot highlight box containing dateline info so can't copy, paste and rebuilt page in new document.

It's always a good idea to show the layout on Pages documents, makes it easier to see what is where.
The date is in a header & the object, the UK flag, is a object placeholder. You can drag & drop your logo onto the flag &, because it is an inline object, it will automatically enlarge the header. Since it's a page layout document, the problem you're having is that the title & everything else is text boxes or floating object as there is no text layer. You just need to select the text boxes & objects & move them around to make room.

Hi people!
I get to resolve any items. Anything important are:
- you can to view a structure of page template. The first you view it in the menu Shared Components >> Templates. There is a icon in the column "Preview" for the page, report and region template items. In the click on the icon you can view a template structure that should be shown in the execution.
- You can view where will be inserted a region on the option "display point". You need to click on the icon in the right of the "display point" option;
Well, If you pay attention in the two options you will know how to modify a template and how to create.

How do I modify the template used in the Photo Gallery module

I notice the Photo Galleries are rendered as an HTML table and I would like to make a small modification to the way the gallery is rendered on the page.
Basically I just want to wrap a DIV around the <img> tag so I can control the look of the image via my own CSS.
I see there is the ability to modify Module Templates, but the photo gallery module is not listed there.
Where can I access the template used for a photo gallery?
Alternatively I will need to display the images myself using an XML feed and jQuery, but I would rather use BC's own modules when I can.

There is no template for the photo Galleries. But if you are using Firebug you can find out the css values and add your own modification by adding CSS by the same selector as the current gallery to your own page and use the !Important value to over write the gallery css.

Default Display Points in Page Templates

Ver 1.6 adds Default Display Points in the Page Templates. As I understand it these would be the default positions for Breadcrumb menus and Sidebars.
How do these work? If you create a region, based on a breadcrumb style menu, you must specify a Display Point. The breadcrumb menu region uses that location rather than the Default Display Point.
How do these work?
And whats a sidebar? it is not a menu type

Since the format had to be repeated over many pages, I just built a custom type of Region that I use with the button positions that I need for which I modified the CSS to include my formatted classes well as the Region for only those button position that I need.

Changing page template

I have a page that was built with a template, but I decided to create sub-templates for sub-pages and now I would like that page to connect with a sub-template page. It simply just changes the background image. Is there a simple way of doing this?

Within the page in question, have you tried Modify > Detach from Template then Modify > Apply Template to Page? (this should allow you to choose the other template)
If the result of that is unsatisfactory, I recommend creating a new Child page from the Subtemplate and hand-carrying the content from the old page to the new.
Sometimes "sneakernet" is the most efficient policy. (in the bad old days, before networks of any kind, sharing data was a question of carrying a floppy disk [a what?] from computer to computer.)

Master Page Template problems

1.)    I have a problem with the Master Page Template when I place a Back to Top link at the bottom of the page of the Master and then generate or publish my product the link only works at the higher level. If pages in the product are under a folder or if the pages are in a different book the link does not work. I’m using the # for the Back to Top link.
2.)    Another problem with the Master if you place a See Also Button on the master page you are limited on your project pages as to what you placed in the links on the Master Page. In other words if I have a project that has 30 pages and 10 chapters and I want the link to jump to chapter 3 page 5 and I only palced the 10 chapter links in the Master See Also Button I can not change the link under the See Also Button on chapter 3 page 5 with out it breaking the link to the Master Page. Is what has to be done Is place a See Also Button on each and evey page and edit the links in each and every one.
3.)    Breadcrumb trail links. Why in the Design view you can not change the Breadcrumb trail links to above a graphics header if you have placed on your Master Page? If others are having problems with this just go into the HTML and place the breadcrumb section in your header section. You may have to play around with the formating of your styles to get it just right.

Nope. It says anything outside that area is editable, i.e., it's treated as an editable region. This is the default behavior for a DW template and it allows you to place server scripting or javascript code above the <html> tag, or below the </html> tag in any child page.
Unless you are using server scripting, or are very advanced in your use of DW, you should never mess with this default setting.

Regarding the Page template.

I am creating report and I have 16 columns... so it is larger than the page. I am not getting the template for the whole report. It is ending at certain place and the remaining is blank. Can anyone help how to modify the template???

Hi Priya,
sure is possible. You can try to add reference to Scarlet themes CSS from your Admin Access Control page (HTML header) that will override theme 101, and then copy templates from Scarlet theme that you need to your application.
The other way would be to create custom template and to copy only CSS properties/images that you need.

Modifying Login Template results in invalid login

Apex 3.1 on 11g using oracle http server
If I modify the login page template template so that the login page has the same look and feel as the rest of my application, the result is that the user cannot logon.
It appears to pass the incorrect password to the login process.
If I go back to the original page template I can log in successfully.
(I have even tried hardcoding the password). When I look at the authentication log, it says invalid password,
even though the correct password was definitely used.
I have some hidden items on page zero and on the login page and when I check the session values, I can see that some values are in the wrong items.
I have not touched or modifed any items on the login page
Apex 3.1 using database account authentication.
Also, in the unmodified template, i can see the images on my navigation bar.
But on the rest of my page templates (the navigation bar images are not displayed)

I had to change it for hosting on apex.oracle.com since I don't have any username/password account access.
The application(s) normally use database account authentication.
(feel free to modify the authentication scheme/templates , if you need passwords or anything let me know)
I still had the same problem , the one with the template not modified allowed me to log in and the one with the modified template did not.
I have since rejigged the template and it now allows a login everytime.
There is definitely something template related which affects the login. (I did notice that my language item was in the password field).
I have one more issue to solve now and thats why my navigation bar images display on the login page but not on the main page. (I'll update the applications with the modified templates)

Page template customization

Hello!
I'm new to WebCenter Spaces, now I'm learning how to create and customize pages using Spaces.
There is a standart top panel in a page template, which contains company logo, search field, "Administration" and "Logout" links, and some other components. But it is too small for my needs, how can I change height of this panel using only WebCenter Spaces? Or it is possibly only using JDeveloper?

What version are you using? 11.1.1.3 or 11.1.1.4? (i asume you are using the latest version)
You can not alter the default template. It is "fixed". You can however copy the current template and make changes to that.
I haven't looked at how the spaces template is build but i kow the template for the webcenter portal application has an attribute to set the width.
When you copy the default template and name it whatever you want, you can edit the source from the edit menu. In the source look for a width attribute. This should have a default value. When you modify this value, the width should be bigger.
I currently do not have a webcente spaces environment to check if this is correct but i expect it to be something like this.

Can someone point me in the right direction ?
I need to modify the page template so that
1. Two colum page template has specific wide and narrow col width
2. Three column template ahs specific wide and narrow cols width.

How to crate a page template for multiple page instances?

Hello,
When I use the Administration Portal to create a page with portlets in the Portal Resource Library, I can choose to use that page it in my portal. The problem is that I can use it only once. How can I crate a page template with portlets so I can use use it as a template for many page instances in one portal?
I'm using Portal 8.1.6.
