Modyfiying standard web template

Hi,
I have made a copy of 0ADHOC template (ZADHOC) and want to add element to it: query view selection.
I do it in that way;
1. open zadhoc
2. drag&drop query view selection icon from standard web item to zadhoc layout
3. save
4. Execute in browser... and there is always the same error in browser: "The affected Web item does not exist. Check the spelling"
Can somebody write me how to do this or advice where to find documentation on modifying web templates...

Hi,
0ANALYSIS_PATTERN is the standard Web template for the BI Queries when executed through Web.
We can copy this template to a Ztemplate and make the changes necessory based on project need and can be assigned
as default in Configuration settings .

1. open the web application designer
2. left side u'll be seeing the applications like Table, dropwdown box , check box etc
3.usually u drag and drop the application from left to right side--> once u dropped it u'll see 3 tabs at the bottom in that one of the Tab is HTML just click on it, it will lead u to the coding part.

Hiding buttons in the standard web template based on roles

Hi,
In the standard web template, the requirement is to hide few buttons based on the authorization.
Can this be achieved by assigning the roles? If not what is the work around?

Restricting the Buttons is not feasible thru Role restrictions, you need to work around with the WAD..
Action Events with Btn Clck.

Standard Web Template

We are using Portal and BI for Netweaver 2004s.
We want to create our own Web Application Template to be used for Ad-hoc analysis. We have created the template in the WAD and named it "ZZ_0ANALYSIS_PATTERN_T001".
We have entered this Template name into the IMG for "Set Standard Web Template" in the field for Ad-hoc Analysis(TCODE RSCUSTV27)
I expect that whenever I use the BEx Web Analyzer iView that this template would appear. Instead whenever I preview this iView the "0ANALYSIS_PATTERN" Web Application Template is displayed. I also have found that the "0ANALYSIS_PATTERN" Template is used if we click on "BEx Web Analyzer" from the Business Explorer Workset.
FYI - I have SAPALL on the BI system and in the Portal: bi_showcase, business_explorer_showcase,business_planning_showcase

Could you please guide me through how I'd go about changing the template used in iView ?
I'm getting an error: "Web template error in specifications for the Web item report Parameter REPORT for the Report Web item in the Web template is empty or missing " [and it's using 0REPORT_DEFAULT_TEMPLATE] when I execute a query from Query Designer... from what I'm understanding is that perhaps the iView template is using 0REPORT_DEFAULT_Template even though my SPRO setting is set to 0ANALYSIS_PATTERN for AdHoc.

Business Content --> Choose & Install the standard web template & then collect the object for transport...Assign a Package & when prompted for Transport Request --> Opt for a new transport request.

Set standard web template

Hello,
We are trying to change the standard web template to a web template we developed in the WAD.
In transaction RSCUSTV27 we put the WAD technical name in the field Ad hoc analysis (=TMPLID_BCAST) but when I run ad-hoc report I'm still getting the standard template (0analysis_pattern)

Once you set the default template you need to restart the J2EE Engineen to get the effect.

How to define a standard web template for a specific group of queries?

Hello experts,
I had to enhance the standard web template 0ADHOC and saved it as ZADHOC.
Then in SPRO t-code I defined it as the standard web template. The problem is: it started to be the standard web template for all the company queries.
Is there a way to define it as standard only for the queries of my project? Like adding some parameter in the web link only for my project queries?

I have figured out how to slice it up myself, however it appears as though I have to do it all manually, drawing each box myself.
Yes, that's how it will have to be. There is no pertinent slicing in the PSD.
This will result in either ALLOT of work making sure that each box is perfectly aligned with the one before it, or uneven slices.

Yes, you are not using guides. You know, those cute turqoise lines of which the document already has a few when opening it...
As for everything else - the template is simply rubbish. It's poorly organized and mostly unsuitable for building a website template right off the bat. Your work needs to start there by properly grouping items to mimic button states and then exporting them in two passes. And then there's things like this large dummy text etc. that simply don't make sense. Anyway, even if it sounds liek the same record over again: The biggest failure of any such work is to assume that PS could even spit out a working web page. All a web designer would use it for is to extract the graphical elements, but teh rest would stil lbe designed properly with standards compliance in mind in a web design app...

Activation of Standard Web Template

Can anybody tell me what I need to do to activate the standard web template?
I have defined 0ADHOC as my web template in RSCUSTV21, but none of the template contents are displayed in my web applications.

Hi Stuart,
The standard web template comes into play when you publish the query to the web either form the query designer or from the BEx Analyzer. At this time, the results are embedded in this standard template. IS this what you are trying to do? If you create your own web template in the WAD, then you need to start from the scratch and build it up with the web items you require. The standard web template is not used by default for any web applications that you may create.

Standard web template doesn't work

Hi,
I am currently experiencing difficulties when executing query from query designer and using Java web from RSRT.
I get this error message The Web template "WEB_TEST" does not exist in the master system every time.
The web template "WEB_TEST" shouldn't exist in BI 7 because it belongs to BW 3.X and I don't know why I keep on getting this error message.
I have set the standard web template from RSCUSTV27 to 0ANALYSIS_PATTERN and even make the fields empty but I still get the error message.
If I use RSCUSTV21 and change the settings I can easily see the result.
Can someone tell me why I can still get this error message and where can I set my default web template because SPRO settings doesn't work

Hi,
Default template 0Analysis_pattern wasn't changed or edited and I have installed it from Business content again and changed the settings from RSCUSTV27.
I think the settings that points to default template in Java web has changed. and I don't know if this was done in portal side or BI.
I can easily change the template settings back and front in ABAP Web (RSCUSTV21) and it works just fine.change
I made a work around solution by copying 0Analysis_pattern and renaming it to "WEB_TEST" template and Java web works properly.
so settings is pointing to WEB_TEST template and this template doesn't exist in the new BI. Its in BW 3.X

Hi:
This workes for me:
In BW, run transaction:
SE38
COpy program 'RS_TEMPLATE_MAINTAIN'.
Execute the program.
In the next screen, you will see two drop-down boxes.
1) Technical Name of a Template
Here, select 0ADHOC
Again Execute
In the new screen, select the third Icon - Copy As.
Give New Name. Make sure its not there before, so gicve something like Z0ADHOC1, etc.
You are done.
Open WAS and select Open Web Template.
THere, you will either see the new one in History or do a seach with the name that you just gave.

Goto Metadata Repository, check local activated Web Template Name, 1st web template listed is called 0ADHOC_CHART_LIB, but why Web Application Designer can't open it?

0ADHOC_CHART_LIB is a Library Item therefore it is no real template and can´t be opened directly in WAD.
a Library Item is e.g. a chart item with some additional standard paramater which can be reused by library in another template.
Goto WAD create a new template there you can browse through library item. unfortunately i have no system here so i cannot say where the library function is in detail.

Web templates are front end bw objects used to create Web reports.Every webtemplate has webitems like tables, charts with their corresponding dataproviders(Queries).
The need for opting web reports is that they do not require the SAP GUI to be installed for their execution.

Issues with modfication to Standard Web Template

Hi all,
I have created a copy(ZADHOC) of 0ADHOC standard template without any modifications. When I try to execute a query on the WEB with this template (ZADHOC) on Internet Explorer (Version 7 or 8), it gives me completely junk data (something in Japanese or chinese) while with 0ADHOC it executes fine.
The tricky part is that the same query with the same template (ZADHOC) on Mozilla firefox executes successfully. I am not sure if its a bug or so but if anyone has faced this issue earlier or knows a resolution to the same please respond.
I tried changing the standard IE settings but to no avail, it stll gives me the same Chinese or japanese or Korean (whatever ... No offense meant to anyone) junk data (Please note that this data doesn't have any image embedded in it). Also, the URL produced has language set to "EN", so this as well cannot be the issue.
Request help on the same.

Hi all,
The Issue has been resolved
The problem occured because of an HTML Meta tag which by default added Unicode as the character set. This had to be removed and saved. A preview after this yielded results correctly.
