Momentary degraded playback when using wheel, center button

Within the last month or so, I have noticed a degradation of playback quality when I use the wheel or the center button. What I mean by degradation is that the playback will "stutter" a bit (up to a second), as if the iPod doesn't have the memory to handle it all. Perhaps another good word to describe this is "garbled." Sometimes it's worse than others.
For example, if I use the button during playback to change the song's rating. Another example: when the iPod transitions to show the time after the screen has gone dark for a minute, there is also degradation. A final example: when I'm running and using the stopwatch, when I use the lap function, there is often stuttering a few seconds later (i.e., when the screen does dark.
It doesn't happen all the time, but it happens often enough to be annoying...perhaps 25% of the time I use the button and/or click wheel.
I've had the iPod for about 7 months. I'm not certain, but I don't think it happened until the most recent iPod software update.
Anyone else experiencing this?
Any advice?

Hey, great news. After posting my last post, I reinstalled iTunes. I had actually uninstalled it a while back, and was using the iPod as it was for a little over a month.
So after I reinstalled itunes, I synched my ipod to it and put a couple new songs on my ipod. After the sync was completed, I started listening and there wasn't any more scratching/ skipping noise +at all+, even when I repeatedly tapped the wheel to test it. And +it was horrible+ before. I couldn't even listen to music and use the Cover Flow option at the same time. Now, it's back to the way it was before it started skipping. yay
I think the problem might have been that faulty software update that we did. And reinstalling Itunes will give you the correct version of the software. So my guess is that if you haven't tried *uninstalling and reinstalling itunes* yet, it might work for you too. : ]

    when using notification center on iPhone 5, made App Store disappear on 4s (though still available in search). Crashes in app and in home screen. 7 crashes today.

    Have you tried restarting or resetting your iPhone?
    Restart: Press On/Off button until the Slide to Power Off slider appears, select Slide to Power Off and, after It shuts down, press the On/Off button until the Apple logo appears.
    Reset: Press the Home and On/Off buttons at the same time and hold them until the Apple logo appears (about 10 seconds).
    Also consider deleting and reinstalling the Mail Account in question.

  • How to suppress Save As dialog when using the Close button on an editable pdf

    Environment: Windows 7, SDK 9, Adobe Acrobat Pro X, Visual Studio 2010 Professional
    Summary: when a document is opened for editing using automation, edited, then closed using the "Close" button, the confirmation dialog appears, "yes" is selected and then the "Save As" dialog appears.  It should save without the "Save As" dialog in the same way it does were the document opened from Adobe Acrobat directly.  My question is, is there any flag to set which governs whether the "Save As" dialog appears as part of the close document process.  It is behaving as if the document is read-only upon close. (it isn't)
    This is how the document is opened from C++:
    if(SUCCEEDED(hr = ::CoCreateInstance(__uuidof(Adobe9::Acrobat::CAcroAVDoc), 0, CLSCTX_ALL, IID_IUnknown, (void**)&pUnk))){
    hr = OleRun(pUnk);
    if (SUCCEEDED(hr)){
    if (SUCCEEDED(hr = pUnk->QueryInterface(&pAVDoc))){
    hr = pAVDoc->Open((BSTR)CComBSTR(strPath), strDocName, &bRet);
    Even when the plugin is removed from the plug_ins\AcrobatSDK directory, the behaviour is the same.
    Another reproduction is running the BasicIacVC sample, commenting out all lines from gAcroPdDoc->Close(); in InitInstance() and returning TRUE.  If an editable document is opened using the sample, edited then closed using the "X" button, the confirmation dialog is followed by a "Save As" dialog as if it were a read-only document which it is not.
    Any suggestions would be appreciated.
    Regards,
    Evan

    Yes, it does.  (as long as the pdf has been opened via a COM interface)

  • Choppy Playback when using the PLAYBACK feature in preferences

    I've been running into an issue since the PPro CC 7.1 update in October where Premiere will play footage just fine until you tell it to send a signal out to another monitor. Before hand everyhting played fine in the Program and Playback Monitors. Now whenever switched on it plays back choppy constantly. Doesn't matter the footage format.
    To further explain -- I have a 3 monitor setup 2 for editing and a thrid for preview playback. All of this runs via my Retina MacBook Pro and has worked fine since PPro 6.0. Never had any slowdown and its been one of my favorite features in PPro.
    So when this update came around I ran into the playback issues mentioned above. So I just keep playback switched off and just leave the third monitor barren... figuring it was a bug (?) I waited and saw a few updates, but nothing that fixed said problem. Though with each update and bug fix I've eagerly gone through the same exercise of trying out this feature once more. Again, nothing has changed... However I found out this evening, that when using my three monitors and suffering through the playback, that I can tell monitor to toggle to full screen and instantly my playback monitor has corrected itself and the two play in perfect sync (quick note the program monitor is choppy when not in full screen mode and trying to playback with the third monitor). I can toggle on and off during this playback and when on its fine, the moment its off, its choppy again. Absolutely bizzare. And to some extent makes my playback monitor somewhat useful agian... albeit in a very tedious fashion.
    The point is, I'm at my wits end again here. I've seen plenty of choppy playback post, but nothing quite like this. I've tried to clearing caches, and preferences, even did a unistall/reistall tongiht... and I'm coming up with the same issues in the exact same places. But ultimately I am no closer to finding a proper solution to this particular playback issue. Aside from doing a clean install of the OS and all my software, though I'm not sure its worth it just yet. Even if its my last resort.
    Has anyone run across playback as bizzare as this? Did you find a solution? Is there a post I've missed? - Thanks

  • Clicking noise when using the 'mouse' button

    I'm not sure what the button is called, but I'm sure ya know what I mean. I've had my macbook since August and this had just started happening. When I used the clicking button, it's harder to press, almost like there's something under it, and it makes a noise like it's getting stuck but then going down all the way. Anyone else have this issue or know what's causing it? Should I just get a mighty mouse?

  • Forms 5 Runtime crashes when using wheel mouse

    Hi,
    We get Invalid Page Faults when using a wheel mouse in Forms
    (Forms 5.0.6.8.0). When scrolling up to the first record the
    message 'At first record' occurs. Then we get a ORA-00001 error
    (!?), followed by the invalid page fault and forms runtime
    crashes. Other actions (scrolling down, scrolling up, but not to
    first record) work fine. I suppose there exist a patch to solve
    this problem, but I wasn't able to find it. Could someone please
    help me ?
    Thanks.
    Koen

    Crashing is normal Forms 5 behavior. Why should a wheel mouse
    make it better? :-)
    If you use Patch 10 (get it on metalink) for D2K Forms 5 on
    Windows (and a good mouse driver), this problem is almost gone.
    But be warned:
    Patch 10 introduces other more serious bugs (serious printing
    problems with HP printer, and such funny things as mysterious
    disappearing items items in large forms ... we stopped the
    rollout of Patch 19 half the way) , and these bugs
    will never be fixed 'cause D2K R2.1 is desupported since
    december 1999.
    So choose your fate.
    HTH Schlo
    BTW: There is a Patch 11, but it is not worth downloading.

  • Exception when using browser refresh button

    When using the browser refresh button, there is a prompt to re-submit data. Once the user selects Retry, an exception is thrown (see below).
    The SelectBean is of ViewScope and is listed in adfc-config.xml as such. The SelectBean is used to set session attributes based user selection of a row from a af:table.
    Is this the incorrect set up? Should this be a backing bean instead? We were expecting to see a prompt of navigating away from the page (similar to the behaviour here: [http://andrejusb.blogspot.ca/2011/07/how-to-handle-web-browser-buttons-in.html] ) instead of a resubmission prompt to be able to handle a user using the browser buttons.
    Thanks!

  • Slide transition not smooth when using a continue button

    Hopefully someone can help me with this issue. I'm not new to Captivate, but cannot resolve this one on my own. I'm using CS4.
    I've created a Captivate movie that has a combination of software simulation and simple slides that have a caption on them. The ones with the captions also include a continue button that pauses the movie so the user can read the information and then when they click the continue button, the movie continues. Simple enough. The problem is when I playback the movie, the slides that have a continue button blink when transitioning from one slide to the next. It looks like the background image (same on all slides) is blinking, which it should not. The settings are set not to transition, so it looks smooth.
    The slides that do not have a button transition just fine, looking as if it is one continuous slide. This blinking is quite annoying and distracts from the smooth transition of the rest of the movie. Has anyone else noticed this, and have you found a solution to fix it?
    Thanks in advance,
    Stevie G

    Hi there
    What is the Button programmed to do?
    * Continue
    * Go to next slide
    My thought here is that if it's jumping to the next slide, perhaps try using Continue and configure timing so it may appear without the flash?
    Cheers... Rick

  • REP-50134 occurs when using the submit button on the Reports Parameter Form

    Good Morning,
    I get the "REP-50134: Cache subitem reports does not exist" error after clicking on the Submit Button from a Reports parameter form.
    I am using Forms/Reprots 9i.
    Using the source code given in the Whitepaper 'Oracle Forms Services - Using Run_Report_Object() to call Reports with a parameter form', all works well when paramform=no, but when I have a Form print a report with paramform=yes, the parameter form appears correctly, but generates the error after clicking the Submit Button.
    Any inputs as to causation or possible places to look to solving this problem would be greatly appreciated.
    Thank you

    Hello and thanks.
    The value in the tag is <form method=post action="reports?">
    Looking at this I suspect my problem is related to this setting. I am trying to follow all the instructions in the White Papers but they are a little confusing as they are not all exactly the same. Each attempts to explain a specific functionality without regards to the whole.
    For instance I believe I need to have the variables P_ACTION, P_USER_CONNECT and P_SERVER_NAME in the report being called and then add a Before Parameter Form trigger to reset the values. But this seems to duplicate and override what has already been sent via the REPORT_OTHERS property. It is a tad bit confusing.
    Can you confirm?

    I've been having issues with movie playback using a large 1080p HDMI TV.   During playback the audio level will come in strong, go faint, then go strong again, but not on any sort of pattern I could discern.   It did this on three seperate movies legally purchased via iTunes.  I get audio and video without trouble, its just the audio goes soft when it shouldn't.
    If you remember the VHS days and "MACROVISION" encoding, then you have an idea what it was doing, although it was the audio levels, not the video playback.
    Is this a fault of the system, a DRM gremlin, or something else?

    I think you may be onto something with the graphics card concept. The problem I am having only exists when I am working on an HD project. When I switched back to DV-NTSC then the monitor is fine during playback.
    Yes, I am routing my external monitor through my DV deck, which is not an HD deck - so again, that could be another weak link in the chain.
    This is the first HD project that I am editing, so obviously a few kinks still need to be worked out. My internal hard drive has 1.5 gigs of ram but I am not sure what the specs are on the graphics card.

  • Hyperlink text not complete when using Create PDF button in Word

    Hello -
    I have Adobe Professional 9, and Microsoft office 2007. I'm trying to convert a word doc to a pdf using the Create PDF button but the resulting pdf always has incomplete hyperlinks. For instance, where it should say http://www.adobe.com, the output pdf will have : //www.adobe.com
    When I hover over the link, the pop up label has the entire URL, and the links work, but I want the entire text to show. I've tried doing a repair with the install disc for adobe, but that didn't help. I've already checked the settings to ensure the Add Hyperlinks option is checked. I just did a complete uninstall/reinstall of all my Microsoft Office products and installed the service pack. I don't have this problem when I use the Create PDF button on my desktop computer, only when I use my laptop (Dell M4300). Any other suggestions?

    I don't have my WORD 2007 on this machine. However, are you sure you are using the Adobe product and not the MS feature for creating the PDF? As for using PDF Maker, you should check the options/preferences in the Adobe menu. There should be a check box for conversion of links. Of course there is the question about whether the links are actually correct in WORD. The links only being partial is typical of the links not actually being transferred to the PDF, but simply Acrobat completing the link it thinks exists like WORD does.

  • Why does Safari refresh the page when using the back button?

    Safari didn't use to do this.
    Even on these forums, when you hit the back button to go back exactly where you were at, if there are new posts, the entire page may have changed. I knew exactly the next post I wanted to look at before the page was refreshed. Now, I can't even find the post I wanted to read unless I scroll through the entire list again.
    I need to be able to go back to the page I was just on and not have it refresh.
    I need to go back exactly where I was.
    Safari can't even go back properly as it wants to go back near the top of the last page I was on.
    I need it to go back exactly where I was at.
    I have no idea what the engineers are thinking about this one.
    FireFox works properly when going back to the prior page.
    I have long lists on pages I work with.
    For example:
    1. through 1,000.
    If I am on reference number 500 on the previous page, when I hit back, it goes all the way back up to around 20 in the list.
    I have to then scroll manually page down to 500 where I was at.
    This is tedious, cumbersome and unnessesary.
    Safari was much better before it was updated to this horrible behavior.
    I don't know of any preferences you can change to change this odd behavior.
    Anyone know of anyway to stop this horrible behavior in Safari?
    This is like reading a book, but when you go back a page, the entire page may have changed and I have no idea where I was at.
    Pretty $iss poor in my opinion.

    Yes, that is correct.
    However, you can also use the mouse or trackpad to swipe back a page and it still refreshes the last page.
    Safari never did this back in Snow Leopard and maybe some versions of Safari in Lion.
    However, Safari in Mountain Lion always does this.
    It is very cumbersome using the "open link in new window" or "open link in new tab".
    It was much better just being able to click the back button or swiping to get back exactly where you were on the prior page.
    Hopefully more people will send Apple feedback on this.
    Thanks for sharing.

  • Error when using inline reply button in message list

    In Mail, when I've replied to a message in my inbox, a little arrow appears next to that message that allows me to go directly to the reply that I sent (see attached photo)
    This feature seems to work ok for most of my mail accounts (mobileme, gmail imap). However, for my Exchange 2010 account , whenever I click on the button I get the error "Mail was unable to find your reply to the message. You may have deleted the message."  This is not true, as the message is in my sent folder, and this happens for any message I am trying to click the reply button on. Is there any way to make this work for an Exchange 2010 email account or am I doomed to experience this error indefinitely? Using OS 10.6.7

    Like the other people replying here, I have this problem, using Mail 4.5, Mac OS 10.6.8, but I'm not on Exchange 2007 or 2010, to the best of my knowledge. My email and website is hosted through Google Apps. I'm no expert on computer stuff, just sort of muddle through. But my inline reply arrows aren't active. I'm new to Mail, so I thought that was just a defect of Mail, since they worked well on Outlook Express. A guy named Bill Mackin had this same problem this summer.
