Monitor color off - PDF text lines highlighted

When I open any PDF file, my monitor wallpaper becomes pixelated and changes colors and looks like a negative.  The lines of text in the file are either blacked out or highlighted with other colors.  I have had tech support clean my computer system today and remove any viruses but the problems still exist.  SJZ

Refer to your Gateway manual. Usually there are settings for color adjust that are independent of the computer or other driving source. You can probably get a warmer color setting in this way.

  • How to change highlight color of PDF texts to the standard golden yellow on Preview app?

    I use the Preview app to read my PDF books. I also read these same books on my iPad. When I read my books, I like to highlight the text. I'm used to highlight my text with the standard golden yellow on my iPad. When I use Preview, the only choice of yellow color I've found is a somewhat orange yellow that's called "yellow". Besides that, I see only 5 highlight options. Anyway, I'd like to highlight my text on Preview with the standard golden yellow, the same color that is available in almost all PDF editing apps. Anyway, how can I highlight my pdf texts with the standard golden yellow on the Mac Preview app?!

    Here is a picture to show the difference between the standard golden yellow (above) and the mac preview called yellow (below - looks like orange to me).
    Is there a way to highlight the pdf texts on Preview app in the golden yellow color, shown above?

  • How to change the color of text but only when that text is highlighted

    I am NOT asking how to change the highlight color OR how to change the text color generally, but rather, how to change the text color as it shows onscreen while it is highlighted. Here's where I'm going:
    Text is ordinarily black (assume) such as when the Finder is open or when viewing a list of all emails in an inbox.
    Let's say I change the highlight color systemwide, in prefs > appearance > highlight color, to a custom color ("other") of black (for example).
    In certain programs (mail, billings, iBank, addressbook, even the Finder), when I highlight a line of something, (like when I one-click on an email or a file name just to select it but not open it), the line will highlight in black, but the text of that line will automatically change to white so it can be seen.
    However, when I highlight actual text (click and drag or double click), such as when editing a document in Pages and selecting a word, line, paragraph, editing an email, etc., the highlight is black, and the text remains black also, which means it cannot be seen (black on black).
    So, how do I change it so that when I highlight the actual text the text color changes to white, then when it is de-selected, it goes back to black.
    I'm not afraid to do a little terminal/command line, but only if it’s a little. Hope this gives enough detail.
    Thanks.

    You can use span HTML tag.
    For example, if your label is "Product Name", and you want it to appear in red, you can type this:
    <span style="color:red">Product Name</span>Hope it helps.

  • Line highlighting in Text Component

    I'm trying to figure out how to apply a colored background to certain lines of a text component. This is common, for instance, in a lot of editors, especially IDE's (notably, Eclipse), where the currently selected line has a separate background color from the rest of the page. I'm having a lot of trouble understanding how to use Elements and Views and EditorKits and all that, and I'm not even sure if that will solve the problem. All I've been able to do so far is put a colored background behind individual characters; but then it stops at the end of the line, instead of continuing for the width of the text component.
    Any help is greatly appreciated.

    I assumed you were using the built-in Highlighter classes to do the coloring. If you aren't, you're doing a lot more work than you need to. Here's what I use:import java.awt.Color;
    import javax.swing.event.ChangeEvent;
    import javax.swing.event.ChangeListener;
    import javax.swing.text.*;
    * Usage: new CurrentLineHighlighter(myColor).install(myTextComponent);
    public class CurrentLineHighlighter implements ChangeListener
      static final Color DEFAULT_COLOR = new Color(0, 0, 0, 15);
      private Highlighter.HighlightPainter painter;
      private Object highlight;
      private JTextComponent comp;
      public CurrentLineHighlighter()
        this(null);
      public CurrentLineHighlighter(Color highlightColor)
        Color c = highlightColor != null ? highlightColor : DEFAULT_COLOR;
        painter = new DefaultHighlighter.DefaultHighlightPainter(c);
      public void install(JTextComponent tc)
        comp = tc;
        comp.getCaret().addChangeListener(this);
      public void stateChanged(ChangeEvent evt)
        if (highlight != null)
          comp.getHighlighter().removeHighlight(highlight);
          highlight = null;
        int pos = comp.getCaretPosition();
        Element elem = Utilities.getParagraphElement(comp, pos);
        int start = elem.getStartOffset();
        int end = elem.getEndOffset();
        try
          highlight = comp.getHighlighter().addHighlight(start, end, painter);
        catch (BadLocationException ex)
          ex.printStackTrace();

  • My texts are highlighted when exported to a PDF file...

    Hello,
    I am new to In Design. I have to update a large poster created with this software.
    I copied/pasted the new texts and everything is fine on the screen. But when I export the file to a PDF, the text are highlighted with a yellow color.
    Does anybody know what is hapening?
    Thank you
    Sinequa

    Dear Peter,
    This is much easier.
    I tried to print the In
    Design file to see if the text was also highlighted but I did not succeed.
    I only printed a tiny part of the file.
    As I told you on my last
    post, the PDF file is also correct but when I print it aprt of the text is
    highlighted. I mean the titles are OK but the bulk of the text is not.

  • Light colored text and highlighting is very difficult to see.

    Light colored text and highlighting is very difficult to see.  How can I make it darker or more pronounced?  It seems to get darker if I push the screen as far back as it goes.  MacBook 5.2 OSX 10.6.8

    A problem for many of us.
    You can change the highlight colour in System Preferences > Appearance
    For awkward choices of text colour, you can either zoom to see it larger (hold 'ctrl' and scroll forward), or reverse the colours by holding dwn the ctrl, opt and command keys and typing 8 (⌃⌥⌘8). The same key sequence will toggle it off again.

  • I'm using Acrobat Pro 11. When printing an email to PDF most of the time it cuts off the text on the right margin. Setting look OK and I've moved things around on the email, but that doesn't seem to make any difference. Is there an Adobe setting I'm missi

    Like I said above, print to Adobe pdf and it wants to cut off the text on the right margin. I can't see to find a setting that changes this. Any ideas??

    OK, so I have now found that this is apparently normal for iTunes, to only accept mpeg 4 movie files, all the searching I did before I must have worded it wrong because I couldn't find anything about this, incredibly. Had been looking for why iTunes won't take all the files it previously did, like if it had been changed, and it hasn't, it's allegedly always taken only mpeg 4 files. Also I had been searching for why iTunes crashes every time I try and add/import anything but mpeg 4 files, and even sometimes with mpeg 4 files. That isn't normal, it's supposed to just do nothing apparently as I've just found out. So for these reasons I didn't find the answer despite my searching all over the web.
    So I guess that answers my own question now, but I'm still perplexed as to why I absolutely, definitely, without any doubt, had several hundred movies of a few different video file types loaded, accessible and playable in my iTunes library that everything here claims iTunes never accepted. It apparently shouldn't have been possible for me to have done this, but for probably 10 years it's been this way.
    Perhaps since I don't remember adding these files to iTunes anymore recently than maybe 6 or 7 years ago, the iTunes back then did accept all kinds of file types? Or could I have somehow had some video codecs or software that expanded the capability of my movie players like Quicktime Player that unwittingly also allowed iTunes to take those files as well? All I know is somehow it worked! So now my question is how did I have it working before, so that maybe I can make it work again.

    Yes.
    I also have Office for MAC but rarely use it as it is too cumbersome for me.
    Microsoft Office does it also.  So does Libre Office, Open Office and just about any full function word processor app.

  • PDF Guide line color?

    When I am working in a PDF is there a way to change the color of the guide lines from yellow?  I know you can do this in pages.  Yellow is hard to see.

    It looks like you might be using CC, in which case CC 2014.2.2 has a very cool, New Guide layout panel
    If you are using CS6 (or CC for that matter) there is the excellent free GuideGuide extension panel.  Both would be helpful if you use a lot of guides.

  • Ugh!!! Does half wonky cursor in text lines indicate bad RAM??!!

    I know I posted earlier regarding my recent adventure in installing new crucial 16gb ram in new Mac Mini but now I am really concerned.  As I posted in an earlier discussion I had a little trouble getting the bottom module in and used 2 of the 4 nodes on the top of the module, as leverage to try and push it in.  I eventually realized that the modules go in at an angle and there was no need to touch the nodes at all.  I don't think I damaged anything but with delicate electronics you never know.  Anyway I finally got the ram installed and booted up the machine and it seemed to work fine.  I opened up several programs at once (iphoto, imovie, safari, messages, mail, app store).  I switched tasks back and forth and then while in safari started a discussion in the apple support communities.  The cursor in text lines showed up as half a cursor.  Could this be an indicator of a bad install or a damaged module? I am currently using mac mini with dell 1920x1080 24inch lcd monitor (2009).  I know this is a repeat post and it is a little long but if anyone has any info on this based on what I described I'd really appreciate it.

    Hi again, tough to say if it's RAM or not. Did you ever run the Rember test?
    One way to test is to Safe Boot from the HD, (holding Shift key down at bootup), run Disk Utility in Applications>Utilities, then highlight your drive, click on Repair Permissions, Test for problem in Safe Mode...
    PS. Safe boot may stay on the gray radian for a long time, let it go, it's trying to repair the Hard Drive
    Reboot, test again.
    If it only does it in Regular Boot, then it could be some hardware problem like Video card, (Quartz is turned off in Safe Mode), or Airport, or some USB or Firewire device, or 3rd party add-on, Check System Preferences>Accounts (Users & Groups in later OSX versions)>Login Items window to see if it or something relevant is listed.
    Check the System Preferences>Other Row, for 3rd party Pref Panes.

  • Change the font color of a text field in a table by key-combination

    I want to change the font color of a text field in a table (single cell only) on pressing a key combination. Does anybody know how to do this.
    I have a lot of data in a table. During an evaluation of the data in a meeting I want to change the color of the text depending on the result of the meeting. (for example: High risk = CTRL+R makes the text red).
    I know how to change the color using a button, but I do not want to add a button after each cell. For this reason I would like to do it on a key combination that alway refers to the active cell.
    Many thanks for your help in advance.
    Marcel

    Hi,
    I don't think you can use the ctrl key like that as those shortcuts will be intercepted by Reader (ctrl-R toggles the ruler display on / off).  You also might have trouble updating the color while you still have focus on it.  You can use the shift key in a similar way, so if you only have lower case characters in the text fields then you can do something like;
    if (xfa.event.shift)
        switch (xfa.event.change)
            case "R":
                this.fontColor = "255,0,0";
                break;
            case "O":
                this.fontColor = "255,102,0";
                break;
            case "G":
                this.fontColor = "0,255,0";
                break;
        xfa.event.change = ""; // ignore character
    If you need uppercase characters maybe you can have one button to set "review mode" and test that on the if (xfa.event.shift) line.  But again it wont take effect until you have tabbed out of the field.

  • Change the color of the outer line of a shape

    Hello I'm trying to create a rectangle with a red border and no inside fill. It's only to highlight some text of a bank form.
    I know i have to right click the layer and choose blending options and stroke. But I've tried to change the color so many times and no matter what I do, the outer line remains gray and with rounded corners.
    I want the corners of the rectangle to be squared, not rounded but I'm having a hard time changing this.
    Please help
    I'm using Photoshop CS3
    thank you
    Could anyone please show a picture of where to change the color of the outer line? I've tried everything.

    Hi,
    With Ps CS3, you'll probably want to define a Layer Style for a Stroke and then use that with the Square Shape Layers.
    This is a Stroke of 4 px, 'Centered' (so a very slight corner rounding on the outside edge. 'Inside' will give you square corners for both inside and outside edges). To change the color of the stroke, go to Layer> Layer Style> Stroke and change the color by clicking on the color bar.
    regards,

  • Setting color of a specific line?

    okay so in swing is it possible to set a portion of the text in a text field to a different color? Like in my chat program(below) can I make it so all incoming chat(instring) is blue and all outgoing text(string) is red?
    Am I using the wrong text component for changing the color of a line? Should I even be using J text components for this?
    The tutorial often puts tons of different text components in to its examples, and uses odd methods to change the color.
    It seems that I have to use something like setCaretColor, but i am not clear on how to use this in the way I want to use it.

    Hmmmm im sorry but Im not quite sure I understand how to do this.
    Do you have to know the exact digits at which the text starts and ends?
    or can you, as mentioned just use html tags to set the text color?
    If i were to highlight a line of the text, would that text be highlighted even if its location in the string changed?
    It would seem that tags would be easier but from what I have tried they don't seem to work in editor panes, but the ydo work in buttons
    Im sorry, Im being a bit of a pest, but I have not been doing java for that long, and I do not have a teacher, so all of my questions have to go here.
