Monitor extension in UCCX

I am trying to find the best solution for line monitoring from another IP phone. We currently have UCCX with call manager 8.6. Basically what I need to accomplish is the ability to monitor and pickup an extension from a remote phone. I have an agent that stays logged in after hours (24-7 dispatch) and we have remote phones in break-rooms that they can pickup when away from their desk. This should parallel their deskphone so UCCX knows when that "extension is in use". Any ideas? I know that I can assign the DN to the remote phone but I am not sure how this will affect the UCCX system on detecting the phone in use.

Hi Phil
Yep - green traffic light is CAD, but it's the same as going 'Ready' via IPPA (albeit a bit easier).
There can be lots of side effects... it can screw over reports, so any that focus on the agent side especially will be bad. I've seen occasions where calls seem to stick on an agent when others are available and because there is always an available agent (even if someone has just wandered off from their desk for a while or gone home and not logged out) it limits what you can do with script logic once a call is queued. It also leads to scenarios where phones randomly ring on empty desks, so someone will helpfully set up pickup groups for the agents... then things really start breaking down. However, if it works for you, don't sweat it :-)
That said, I'd probably weigh up whether or not this dispatch chap needs to be an agent at all. Maybe a hunt group with his extension, plus a pickup group with audio/visual notification belling the break room phones might be an idea.
One other thing - it sounds like you are saying that the IPPA has to be called up by pressing Services on the handset? It should persist on the screen more (to the point where it limits some other phone functions). Usually this indicates the system is misconfigured - the 'telecaster' user isn't set up.
The best way to do this is to go into Desktop Administrator web page (/teamadmin/main.cda">https:///teamadmin/main.cda). In CAD Configuration settings there should be a spot you can put in a username/password. Basically the user needs the same rights (and same phone associations) as the UCCX RMCM user, so I set this user to the same creds as that service to cut down on maintenance. IPPA uses it to push stuff (like refreshes of the IPPA screen, enterprise data etc) to the phone displays. Once this is on agents have to manage calls a little differently.. you'll see what I mean.

Why is there no updates to the firefox throttle add-ons ? Is there an alternative? throttle is Bandwidth utilization throttling and monitoring extension for Firefox

Well, it's probably one of two things: either the awesome dude(tte) who developed this awesome extension was tired of updating or the changes in FFox software architecture carried out between version 3.x and 4+ created challenges that were too difficult for him to surmount or a combination of both. Honestly, I love Mozilla but I think they dropped the ball on the throttle issue. It's such an obvious and necessary function and it's so easy to implement. They should have included it a long time ago as in built feature. And, if you are browsing and looking at this post and you agree. Add a suggestion in mozilla.org. The more of us asking for this function, the better.
Meanwhile, I have the following solution for you:
Solution 0.6.9.23.11 (DIY Version of my Solution ):
Setting Up a Separate Portable Firefox 3.6.x that runs independently of and simultaneously to your latest version of Firefox
    Get FireFox Portable 3.6.24:
    http://portableapps.com/apps/internet/firefox_portable/localization#legacy36
It's a portable app, meaning that it's got all it's profiles and preference and application files in the same directory. It won't compete with your current installation of Firefox, has it's own separate extension folder etc...
    Get Firefox Throttle 1.1.6
http://firefox-throttle.en.softonic.com/ (I couldn't find it in the official mozilla site)
It will be flagged as incompatible with even that old version of firefox (but it isn't). You just need to turn off compatibility checking. You can do that with this extension:
    https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/add-on-compatibility-reporter/?src=search
If you have Bookmarks you want to port to the portable (bad pun intend), backup them up to bookmarks.json file on your desktop and import them to the portable version. You can export/import more stuff using FEBE addon but that's a whole world of headaches if you don't your doing.
Many of your extensions favourites extensions will no longer work on FFox 3.6.x but if, in that same addon's page, you look around until you find a link to previous versions of the addon, you will notice that the compatibility info is right below the version numbers. Just download and install the latest version that is compatible with you 3.6.x....
Voila mon ami! Your FFox 3.6 portable has just become your own private Download Mule whom you can throttle to your hearts content (ever throttle a real Mule??? I wouldn't try it, personally...) Do your regular browsing in another (unthrottled) browser and do your big downloads in the Mule...
If you want to keep using your brand spanking new Firefox for other types of browsing while using this portable Mule edition for the downloads, just add -p -no-remote to the shortcut leading to your Firefox Portable Mule edition.
For example, my taskbar shortcut to my Firefox Portable is:
    ""C:\Program Files (x86)\FirefoxPortableLegacy36\FirefoxPortable.exe"
    I just changed it to:
    "C:\Program Files (x86)\FirefoxPortableLegacy36\FirefoxPortable.exe" -p -no-remote
This will make it occupy it's own independent instance and I can use the both my Firefox Nightly and the Firefox Portable editions at the same time (each one, using a different profile ie. extensions, cookies, password, cache etc).
If you're on Linux, you can just run this on Wine and set the Windows Version to Windows 2000 in the Wine config,
If you want to get rid of the Portable Apps splash screen, click here:
    http://www.ghacks.net/2011/06/06/getting-rid-of-portableapps-splash-screens/
Solution 0.6.9.23.11 (Non-DIY Version of my Solution):
Download my preconfigured but SWAGGED-THE-HECK-UP PortableFirefox 3.6
Having realized that some of you may find the above to be daunting. I took my own customize firefox portable, took out all my data and compressed the folder (it's portable, so it'll run as soon as you unzip it).

    http://www.mediafire.com/?o95nkwo8y6q535j
    Here is the download link:
    http://www.mediafire.com/?xdw87ivf3184u2s
Don't forget to modify your Start/Taskbar shortcuts:
"C:\wherever you decide to put it\FirefoxPortableLegacy36-Swagged-UP!\FirefoxPortable.exe"
    I just changed it to:
    "C:\wherever you decide to put it\FirefoxPortableLegacy36-Swagged-UP!\FirefoxPortable.exe" -p -no-remote

  • Use Cisco Jabber to register the phone extension of UCCX agent

I have a Contact Center Express Implementation (v.8.5.1) and has always worked perfectly with Cisco IP Communicator.
Right now Cisco Jabber is being implemented in the company but I presents an issue with the Cisco Agent Desktop (CAD) of the Contact Center Express agents.
They have registered their telephone extension in the Cisco Jabber but when starting your CAD, an error indicating that the connection fails for a configuration error, to associate the phone's with user ID of JTAPI provider (obviously this is done, because the IP Communicator is the same extension, the same user and it works perfectly).
    Thanks in advance.
    Ernesto González

Hi Graham. Thanks for your answer.
I configure only the Jabber for Windows as Agent extension.
Now, the issue is different, the CAD show me a new error: "You can't connect because the phone is enabled for IPv6. IPv6-enabled phones are not compatible with CAD". (view the following image...).
    Any workaround for this issue?.
    Best Regards.

  • Recording and Monitoring issue in UCCX

    Hi,
I am unable to configure Monitoring/Recording as CDA gives an error "CDAUI1000 Error while trying to load the data.Ensure that the system path includes the location of the WebAdminLib.dll".I checked the dcoumentation and it says give the path in "environment variable" but I don't know how to do that.
Also besides this I am using 7942 IP phones which are connected to the same port as desktop but both of them are in different VLANs.Please let what additional configuration I will have to do to achieve desktop monitoring.
    Regards
    Amit Prasad

Be sure to folow the steps below, and verify that the environment variable is moved to the begining of the string. These directions are from the CAD Error Code guide which are attached to the post.
Ensure that the system path includes the location of the WebAdminLib.dll. Type: Fatal Add’l Info: Error indicating that the location of the WebAdminLib.dll is not added to the System path. Action: On the Unified CCX server, add the location of the WebAdminLib.dll (C:\Program Files\Cisco\ Desktop\bin) to the Path environment variable.
    1. In Control panel, launch the System utility.
    2. On the Advanced tab, click Environment Variables.
    3. From the list of system variables, select Path and click Edit.
    4. In the Variable value field, locate the string C:\Program Files\Cisco\Desktop\bin; and, using cut/paste, move it to the beginning of the variable value string. This results in the DLL being accessed from the correct location.
    5. Click OK and close the System utility.
    6. Stop the Cisco Unified Node Manager.
    7. On the Unified CCX server, delete the teamadmin folder from these locations: C:\Program Files\wfavvid\ tomcat_appadmin\webapps C:\Program Files\wfavvid\ tomcat_appadmin\work\catalina\localhost
    8. Restart the Unified Node Manager, and wait two minutes.
    9. Access Cisco Desktop Administrator and verify that you can navigate to the Services Configuration > Enterprise Data > Fields page.

For this issue, you need to associate the Agent phone's MAC address as the controlled device under the RmCm application user in CUCM.
Note: All agents who currently have the Unified CCX extension to be shared must log out before you can configure additional agents to share that extension.
    Unsupported Configurations for Agent Phones:
The following configurations are not supported for agent phones:
•Two lines on an agent’s phone that have the same extension but exist in different partitions.
•A Unified CCX extension assigned to multiple devices.
•Configuring the same Unified CCX extension in more than one device profile, or configuring the same Unified CCX extension in any combination of device profiles and devices. (Configuring an Unified CCX extension in a single device profile is supported.)

  • UCCX 10.5 HA, Silent Monitoring, no devices under CDA VoIP Monitoring Device

    Hi
I'm configuring Silent Monitoring, but in UCCX CDA under Settings: Services Configuration > Multiline, Monitoring & Recording > VoIP Monitoring Device, there are no devices.
Note: I have CAD agents setup with IP Phone working properly. UCCX is "IN SERVICE", Cisco Desktop VoIP Monitor Service "IN SERVICE"
    UCCX 10.5.1.10000-24
Let me know if someone had the same issue.
    Regards
    Carlito

    Hi Carlito,
you need to agregate IP Phone that you want to monitor  to RmCm User (Application user), in "Device Information/Controlled devices", and save.
Let me know if this information could help you.

  • Silent monitoring calls with CUCM 6.0 and UCCX 5.0

    Dear all,
We have just integrated a 3rd party recording solution in our VoIP system, which consists of CUCM 6.0 and UCCX 5.0.
Until now we used the recording and monitoring solution of the UCCX for the agents. This worked ok.
But, as we wanted to record other people's calls and also the outgoing calls of the agents, we have created for them a Recording profile in the CCM and assign it to the agents phone.
We have also mantained the recording and monitoring active for them in the UCCX.
What is happenning now is the following:
    - The 3rd party recordings works perfectly.
    - The recording in the UCCX gets only one way audio.
    - The silent monitoring gets only one way audio.
    - If the 3rd party recording server is stopped, but the recording profile is stil active in the phones, the silent monitoring in the UCCX works.
Could any of you confirm if using a 3rd party recording solution the monitoring still works?
Is there any 3rd party silent monitoring software?
    Thanks in advcance.
    Best regards,
    Amaia

We've got to delimit the problem.
When we use 3rd party recording solution there are 4 RTP flows: 1 incoming to monitored/recorded phone and 3 flows outgoing.
    1 incoming RTP flows
    - voice of remote phone
    3 outgoing RTP flows
    - voice of monitored/recorded phone
    - voice of monitored/recorded phone sent to 3d party recording server
    - voice of remote phone sent to 3rd party recording server
When we use a network analyzer we see that the agent running in the PC (UCCX 5.0) establishes two RTP flows for the monitoring session. But we can see that one of these flows sends 3 packet RTP per 1 packet RTP sent in the other RTP flow (in the same time).
We think agent sends to monitoring device all the outoing RTP packets of the phone (that belong to three different RTP flows), instead of sending only the RTP packets belonging to voice of monitored/recorded phone.
The other flow, voice of remote phone, sounds fine.
Is there a solution to avoid this problem when we monitor with UCCX 5.0 and record with a 3rd party software at the same time?
    Thanks,
    Christian

  • Line Monitoring a single extension that has DND active

    Hi Guys,
I am trying to monitor the DND state of a single extension. Monitoring  of ringing, on a call, or on hold state works pretty well, but  monitoring of DND state still shows the extension as available.  Is there a way we can monitor the DND state of a single extension, so  that it can notify the user that the particular monitored extension is  on DND state.
Can someone help on the issue.
    Regards
    Shivam

Well, for monitoring of a state you need state information supplier. You didn't revealed what device we are speaking about, but SPA5xx phone didn't supply such kind of state information by self. There is no solution unless you will move the DND logic from phone to PBX (and the PBX become state information supplier for you).

  • Change to direct dial too UCCX extensions

    Hi,
It was requested that a change be made so that when user dials the UCCX extension of any of the HD employees, instead of ringing the phone directly, it would route the call to the CSQ trigger extension.  HD has two extensions.  A personal extension and a uccx extension.  The uccx extension is well know now by the users.
We have a partition setup called All Phones that all extensions including uccx extensions are created under.  I created a new partition and called HDAllPhones.     I then assigned all CSS's the new partition making sure this partition was before the All Phones partition.  I created translation pattern for each UCCX extension to point to the Trigger CSQ.
When I dial the UCCX extension it works perfectly.  However I am getting strange behavior on CAD where they are not able to go ready or sometimes when ready and a call to HD rings another agent and is answered, it switches them to not ready.
I am guessing the issue is somewhere on the UCCX side - maybe the application and Partition/CSS assigned?

    Hi djlundberg
I have created a new String parameter called userInput and have setup a Get Digit String and when I enter a 3 digit extension I'm forwarded to the correct extension.
But I'm having trouble with the second part.
Let's say I want to be forwarded to directory number 725 if I press 1 and
be forwarded to directory number 950 if I press 2.
How should I configure the Switch string for this? I tried many combinations but I couldn't get it to work.
    Regards.

  • Won't recognize Monitor through Monitor Share

If I plug my monitor directly into my G5, the G5 knows it's a Dell D1226H. BUT if I plug my monitor into a monitor share, the G5 tries to use some generic monitor extension, and the display is really hard to see.

We have 2 iMacs and 1 PowerBook, networked through a
router. Our Epson printer is hardwired to one of the
iMacs, and printer sharing has been selected and
turned on in the Printer & Fax preferences of the
System Preferences. Initially this worked fine, but
now the PowerBook will not locate the printer through
the network, no printers at all show up in its
printer list. We've tried resetting the printer prefs
in both the iMac and the Powerbook, but still no
    luck. Any help?
My Epson R200 never did share properly no matter what I did. My Brother works fine as does the Canon950 but not the Epson. My thought is the driver is garbage for anything other than basic, local printing. My next attempt will be my workhorse 1280 and I also have a small USB print server plus a builtin print server on the Airport that I am going to try.

  • VGA cable extension -or- extending the reach of Solaris

I purchased a 15ft TRIPP LITE VGA monitor extension cable. This cable does not work with Solaris 10, but does work with Windows! The Solaris graphical interface does not want to load with the extension cable in place.
Why? And what can I do about the situation. Will a Gefen VGA through coax solution work with Solaris? Or is there another way to do this?
Helping me figure out how to move a Solaris computer a few feet away from my desk will help save my hearing.

I would love to create a connection from the router to my computer. I don't need or want it to be wireless. It's not like I'm hauling this computer around the house, and there is a cat 5 jack about 1 foot from my computer. Any idea how this is done? Even in theory?
We have Comcast hi-speed internet and they offer "home networking" wired or wireless but unfortunately "At this time, Comcast Home Networking does not support Macintosh computers." (you have to dig pretty deep to find that out). I have no real concept of how the cat 5 wiring and the highspeed internet work together.

How can I return choice my VOIP Monitor Service(IP UCCX)?

    Hi Kalitamih,
This can be regenerated by the Cisco Desktop VOIP Monitor Service.
Please stop the service and start it (do not restart). Let me know how it goes and if it resolves the problem.
