Monitor goes crazy when I adjust the angle...

When I tilt my monitor back away from me, at a certain point the picture scrambles or sometimes the screen goes white until I tilt the monitor closer towards me. Sometimes it takes a couple of seconds to get the picture back, but it always has come back thus far.
I assume a cable on the inside is getting pinched. Is there an inexpensive way to fix this or am I looking at a major repair???

Hi Avidediter,
Welcome to Apple Discussions
I believe that you are having a problem with your reed switch, which usually cause symptoms that you are experiencing. You should bring it to your local Apple Store/Reseller to get it looked at and fixed. Did you purchase AppleCare?

Nope, it isn't normal, but I don't know the cause. You might have better luck posting in the Safari forum:

  • My iphone screen goes crazy when it charges

    Hey there,
Whenever I charge my iPhone my screen goes crazy when I touch it. If i'm typing whilst its charging it clicks random things and deleted what i've typed. The phone works completely fine when its not charging and I haven't had any other problems with it. I have the iPhone 5c iOS 7.1.1 (about to update after this post).
If anyone could help me that would be great!
Ps. Someone posted a video and my phone does the same
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QbsNCjbs-xg

I have the same exact problem and I use an Apple charger and lightning wire cord. Resetting the phone doesn't work and neither does shutting it off and turning it back on. It is infuriating to say the least, especially because this stupid phone spends more time on the charger than off. The battery is crap.

  • Creative Zen 16gb goes crazy when FULL volume - 25 (with UE 5 P

I dunno if anyone in here have this problem!!! My zen goes crazy when i pump up the volume FULL. It has problem with MP3, AAC (Nero AAC) works fine. My mp3s are all LAME 3.97 vbr V0. And its surprising, when i use custom EQ setting even the MP3 works fine with FULL volume but once I change it to preset ROCK or anything else the sound goes cracking. My UE 5 pro's sound goes ON and OFF and the CRACKING sound is killing me. BTW I am using latest firmware version
(Creative ZEN Firmware .2.0). Any Idea! Thanks in Adv.

Just want to comment on the sound quality. With my player it's the opposite direction; sounds for videos are not as good as with my mp3 and wma files, but it's nowhere near bad either. With my set of Koss PortaPro the?sound is outstanding with the music.

I started to learn HTML, and I'm using text edit and everything is going fine, when I save the file with a .html extension and open it with safari I only view the code and not the webpage that was supposed to be created.

That is because you don't have a web server configured and running to serve the html page. In order to see the page in a browser you need to access it using a url similar to http://localhost/~yourUserName if you are serving the page from your user account.
Prior to Mountain Lion you could go into web sharing and turn on the web server. With Mountain Lion there is no option, other than using terminal, to turn on the web server. The web sharing menu item has been removed in Mountain Lion. Apache is still on your computer but it will take a little searching these forums or the Internet to find how to turn it on.
If you want a graphic user interface to turn on/off the Apache server you could download and install a server application like xampp, http://www.apachefriends.org/en/xampp.html. I use this and it works well.

  • When I adjust the duration of a clip or transaction, iMovie automatically adjusts the duration of another clip; how can I shut this feature off?

In iMovie when I adjust the duration of a photo clip or transaction, iMovie automatically changes the duration of another clip; how can I shut this feature off?

Ok, well you won't get a "speed scale" indicator when editing a title clip. You can only adjust duration. Now, is there music attached to the title clip? Are you adjusting the TITLE TEXT box ONLY? Try adjusting the clip BELOW Title Text box 1st, then Title Text clip.  Is the Title attached to your own video OR is it one of iMovie's default Titles??

My magazine last month is still working ok - but this month's version has just started crashing for some reason.

We can't know. You have not provided any system info, not told us what version of ID you use nor provided any specifics about the document like images, color profiles, fonts, paragraph styles and what have you...

Try the standard trouble-shooting steps: Restart, Reset, Restore. If these don't solve the issue then you may have a hardware probem. If so, contact Apple Support.
Restart: Press On/Off button until the Slide to Power Off slider appears, select Slide to Power Off and, after the iPhone shuts down, then press the On/Off button until the Apple logo appears.
Reset: Press the Home and On/Off buttons at the same time and hold them until the Apple logo appears (about 10 seconds). Ignore the "Slide to power off"
Restore: Use iTunes on your computer to Restore your iPhone to as new.

It sounds like you may not have the power cord pushed in tightly enough
to the back of the screen port. Push it in really really tightly, OK?

Hey, the name of that tone is Sonar.  If you are using iOS 7.1, its under Ringtones>Classic>Sonar.

  • Monitor going crazy

I have an iMac G5 with 20" monitor. For some reason after using it a few hours this AM, my screen started glitching, kind of like yellow electronic streaks across it horizontally. I immediately ran it through a diagnostic "Socks" and it didn't seem to find anything wrong. The glitching was intermittent. Then it became solid yellow (the whole screen). Now it appears to have gone away and the monitor is back to normal. What's going on? My G5 is a few years old. I may run disk utility now but not sure if these programs check for monitor defects.
Any assistance is appreciated. Chuck in sunny Florida

I went to the Apple Store. The Genius moved the screen up and down several times, and pressed more or less behind the screen, to show me it was definitely a hardware problem. At some point, the screen went completely crazy (nothing distinct showing up). I suggest you try the same at home with your Air.
I had no choice but to change the screen. It cost me €478.30 = $640, which is a lot of money (there goes my future iPad).
The Genius argued the problem came from the cable linking the screen to the motherboard. They supposedly have to change the whole screen just to fix that cable. It is obviously located in the junction between the screen and the keyboard part.
