Monitor message" Power Button Lockout"

New HP 23" monitor -  HP 2310m   Accidentally held down the power button too long; now I can't get the monitor to turn completely off. When the computer is shut off the monitor goes to the sleep mode with the orange LED (on/off switch) always lit orange. How can I turn the monitor off completely and clear the message  "Power Button Lockout"? thank you

From the manual: Power Button Lockout— Indicates the power button is locked. If the power button is locked, the warning message Power Button Lockout displays. ◦ If the power button is locked, press and hold the power button for 10 seconds to unlock the power button function. ◦ If the power button is unlocked, press and hold the power button for 10 seconds to lock out the power button function. Cheers,

    Hello imajo2,
When pressing the power button you get the message “Power button lockout”, is that correct? I will try to help you with this issue.
Press and hold the power button for 30 seconds and that should disable that function.

  • Monitor "Power Button Lockout" and shuts down all the time!

I have a HP 2009m 20" diagonial HD Ready LCD Monitor
I am using Windows Vista 64-bit
    "Power Button Lockout" message
A few days ago, completely randomly, my monitor started flashing this message "Power Button Lockout".  Now the message is projected on the screen all day every day, when I'm trying to use the computer, the monitor will shut off, the power button is practically useless, and none of the other function (menu, volume, or source) buttons work on the monitor.  Please help!

Try to reset monitor to factory configuration.
Unplug monitor from power and hold the power button for 60 sec.
Then plug the monitor back in and power it up.
Else - it sounds like the button or the switch under the button is damaged. Maybe you can repair/replace it with another mirco-switch?

    Hi,
    Power Button Lockout is displayed.
The monitor's Power Button Lockout function is enabled.
Press and hold the Power button for 10 seconds to unlock the Power button function.
If the above doesn't work then try a monitor reset.  Unplug the monitor’s power cord and hold down the monitor’s power button for 30-60 seconds. Plug the monitor back in and power it up.

  • HP ZR2240w Power Button lockout, monitor powers off

This is regarding a HP ZR2240w Monitor.  Occasionally "Power Button Lockout" will apear on the screen and about 10 seconds later the monitor will lose power.  This occurs with any type of input (VGA, HDMI, DVI).  If the power is left plugged in, it will sometimes come back on at random times.  Sometimes unplugging the power and plugging it back in will resolve the issue, but usually only stays on for a few minutes before repeating the process.

I understand you are having difficulty with the Power Button Lockout on the monitor. I would recommend you follow the steps I have set out below:
Step 1. Turn off the monitor
Step 2. Unplug the power cord from the wall and from the monitor
Step 3. Hold down the power button for 1 minute
Step 4. Plug the power cord back into the monitor and ensure it is plugged directly into the wall
*** If the issue persists try the next set of steps.
Step 5. Press the MENU button on the monitor
Step 6. Navigate to the Factory Reset Option and reset the monitor
If the problem persists after this the issue appears to be a physical issue and I think it would be best if you contact HP Technical Support for repair options.

  • Hp 2515 power button

    Hello.
I bought a hp 2515 deskjet ink advantage printer on last sunday, and it was delivered today to my home. Now as i realized it is made of relativly cheap materials. Especially the control panel   has a very dissapointing quality. My question is related to this. When I start the printer I press the power button, it's ok. But when I want to shut it down, i press the middle of the power button in vain, only pressing it's lower edge can turn it off. Is that normal? Or again I just got a waste product slipping to the quality control directly to my hands?

  • IPhone 5 power button barely sticks up

The power button on my new iPhone 5 barely sticks up, it is much lower than that on my iPhone 4.  And it is much lower than volume buttons.  When I run my finger across the power button I can barely feel it.  Is this normal?

I have this same problem, if you can even call it that.  To me it just doesnt feel right.  On my iphone 4 it was a bit higher and had a better feel to it when you pressed it down, like a solid feel and click, knowing that you pressed it.  My current iphone 5 it seems as though its barely sticks up from the top base of the phone.  I dont know if they made it like that or what, but it is annoying and i will continue to monitor the power button.
I just hope it doesnt get stuck.
