Monitor Output

Hi!
I've just set up a small pal tv as an externat monitor. Imac-> trough firewire to d cam-> from cam trough s-video-scart to the tv (only oportunity for me right now)...Motion looks fine in the output, but the image and colours are flickering??
Is this a total wrong setup?Or what seems to be the error?
Any help would be very much aprreciated!

check your cables (disconnect + reconnect, twist them a quarter turn while you monitor the output, swap any you can)
This setup should work fine and I've never seen this problem with multiple variations of cameras, dv convertors etc

miniDisplay to HDMI : How to turn off the Dual Monitor output when the adapter is attached and the TV is off ? And will keeping the adapter connected even if it is not in use, cause damage to the adapter ?

I have my external monitor/tv setup of the left. If I leave the adapter attached with the TV off, I am still able to cross the border/boundry of my MBP screen ! As instead of detecting a TV, the MBP is detecting the adapter as a screen. I do not want to damage my thunderbolt/miniDisplay port by plugging and unpluggin the unit each and every time.

  • Dual monitor output for Z68MA-ED55 (B3) with IGP ?

Does Z68MA-ED55 (B3) board support dual or multi monitor output with IGP aka built-in intel HD 2000/3000 ( not with discrete graphic card ) like the  H67 boards ?

By right it should, however, to confirm the answer, it is best to >>contact MSI<<.

  • Second monitor output

    Hi there,
Sorry if I am being really dumb but I am wondering if anyone can help me.
I have a MSI TI4200 128MB DDR card which has a svideo and composite in and out.
I am trying to have a tv as a second monitor to allow me to do some video and sound editing.
I thought that this card would allow me to do that but I might be wrong.
In the control pannel I go to settings and then to advanced and then Nview, it shows that extra monitors can be used but the options are blanked out.  The only one that is available to me is standard (Nview disabled). The others clone, horizontal span and vertical span are not able to be selected.
I have tried re-installing the software and a number of diferent options but I just dont seem to be able to do it.  Is this feature supported on my card?
I have read though the adobe file that came with the card and it talks about the setup of the second monitor but that is only available with MX cards.  I havent got a clue if mine is MX or not I cant find any information on it or what the alternative to MX is!
I would have thought that a second monitor output would be supported on the card I have as it has an svideo output to go to an external device.
If it is not supported can I put in my old graphics card and use that as a second monitor output??
Thanks for your time in advance....
    Andrea

Ok, thanks for the advise.  That clears up the TV out thing.
I am really sure that the card I have can operate a dual monitor system though as I previously installed the card before I reformatted my hard drive for a clean up and the settings were there then and I could choose the monitor setup.
On the back of the card there is the standard VGA D shape connector for my CRT monitor and also a DVI connector which I have an adapter for.  Can a second monitor be run from this?  and do the seetings only appear for this monitor when it is plugged in?
I just can't understand how I had all the settings before and now when I want to use them they dont work! (Sod's law maybe?!)
Is there a piece of software that I have missed when re-installing?  I am have been through everyting I have got to check though.
I have some software called Nview and it states there that it is active, but when I go into the settings of my monitor it says that it is not.  I cant find this piece of software on its own to re-install, did it come with the drivers?
    Thanks again for your help

  • Z87 G45 Gaming no POST, no monitor output

    I have a Z87 G45 MB, with i7 4770K Haswell, Sapphire Radeon 7870 GPU, Corsair Vengeance 240 pin DDR3 ram, and a Corsair CX600 PSU.
When I try to turn on the computer the fans start, all the lights light up, and the usb peripherals get power, but there is no monitor output. I've tried taking out the GPU and using onboard video and I've tried switching monitors and cords, and I've switched out RAM and tried different slots, and I've reset the CMOS. The weirdest part is that sometimes it starts up, and I cannot for the life of me figure out what's changed when it does start up.

Val, the OP's problem is different than yours. No Post is a vague and there are still things we don't know about either of your situations.

Is the system cycling on / off or just no display?
If the system stays running, but there is just no display it sounds like bent cpu socket pins.
If it is cycling there are other test we should try.

  • Apple Loops - How do you change the monitoring output?

Anyone know how to change the default output of the Apple Loop player to another output (eg. 5-6), or is this just wishful thinking?

Very easy. Go to the mixer tab, and select the ALL button at the top of that window. You should see a channel strip called Prelisten, usually on audio channel 256. Change that output to whatever, and that will change the monitoring output for loops, the bin, and the Sample Editor.

  • Z77A-G45 + i5-3570K = no monitor output

    Hi guys,
at first I´m sorry for my bad english and sorry if this topic doesn´t belong here.
Three days ago I have just built my first pc. When I plug my CPU i5-3570K (which should be fully supported) into my main board (Z77A-G45) and switch the power on, I have no monitor output from either the MB or GPU output, while computer is still running. Everything else is plugged correctly. Then I borrowed and tried to put another CPU (i5-2500) into my main board and monitor display worked fine. It means to me that mother board is not damaged. Then I have tried to put my CPU (i5-3570K) into different main board (PA65-UD3-B3) and it worked correctly also. (I was able to get into bios, could install OS, etc...). That means to me that my cpu (i5-3570K) is not damaged as well. I have also tried several times flash bios for CPU 3570K version but without any changes. ( If I remember correctly default bios version was 7752v25. So I have tried to flash at first into 7752v23 and than to newer 7752v28 and 7752v29). My main board (Z77A-G45) is working, my CPU (i5-3570K) is working also but only separately. My question is: why this main board (Z77A-G45) doesn´t work with this CPU (i5-3570K) together and what can i do next? I am pretty desperate because i can´t return my main board or cpu to seller when every part work separately. And MSI bench in Czech republic only repair laptops and all-in-one pc (thats what they said to me through phone call)
I am kindly asking you for any recommendation and advice in this regretful situation.
    Thank you all.
    Board: MSI Z77A-G45
Bios: 2.8 or 2.9 (not sure because i can´t get into bios now)
VGA:   Sapphire HD 7870 XT BOOST 2GB DDR5
    PSU:   Seasonic S12II-620W
    CPU:   Intel Core i5-3570K BOX
    MEM:  CRUCIAL 8GB (kit 2x 4GB) Ballistix Sport 1600MHz CL9
    HDD:  WD Blue WD10EZEX 3.5" 1TB
COOLER: default intel cooler in box with CPU
    OS: don´t have any

I have attached bios version .2A0 for you to try. This is the next full release although it hasn't made it to the website yet.
    >>Use the MSI HQ Forum USB flasher<<
Use option 1 of the tool and point it at the compressed archive. Do no decompress. Then point it at your fat 32 formatted flash drive. When the tool is done, boot to the usb drive and follow the directions.
You will need to re-install the ME drivers when complete.

  • How do i monitor/output digital/analogue audio while editing?

I just switched to the mac pro and am learning FCP. Now i am forced to monitor audio output through my headphones. I want to tie the audio into my studio monitors and also be able to send optical audio in to the mac pro from my main mixer, a Mackie 1404. Do i need a DAC(Benchmark), a optical I/O digital mixer or both or something else? My budget is upt to $1,000, but i would like to spend <$300.
In general, i am trying to figure out how to incorporate analog/digital audio/video in to my new editing system. Before this i was outputting analog video/audio in real time with a Velocity I/O card. I am now, obviously, converting to a new way of outputting my finished product and how to edit and work with the new Mac Pro.
I guess i could also consider using the firewire also, right? I haven't worked with a firewire based audio hardware unit, so any info on that appreciated as well.
Also, is the line out in the back of the Mac Pro mono or stereo? I appear to be getting a mono feed while monitoring clips i've shot.
While researching i might list here some things i have come across. Opinions on these appreciated:

  • How to Create and adjust masks with SDI output or Dual monitor output activated?

    Hi all Speedgrade community.
For me one of the biggest problems I constantly encounter is managing masks within speed grade.
The tools are great, but if your using and external reference monitor for grading there is no way you can manage
masks and see what your doing on that "external" screen. Is there a way of activating dual screen or ddi output and keeping
the viewer active in the GUI?
When I know I'm going to be managing a lot of fine tuning grading, I usually always switch to Scratch or Resolve, and that breaks my Adobe CC round tripping workflow

    Hi Fran
    Thanks for your response.
Is it just me, or does the pointer, when sent over to the SDI output, not respond as well
as when it's on the GUI?
Anyway, I'm quit confident we'll see an update to the way video is routed within Speedgrade
    in a near future.

  • Monitoring Output Post Processor(OPP) log?

    Hi All,
We have had some issues where the Output Post Processor manager went down and ultimately prevented all XML printing. I would like to know of any experiences monitoring this manager by using a script to watch the following logs:
    $APPLCSF/$APPLLOG/FNDOPP*.txt
    Thanks in advance,

    Hi Helios,
Yes, I can see log information via: Go to System Administrator -> Concurrent : Manager -> Administrator
open “Output Post Processor” and then click “Process” button -> “Manager Log” button to see the detailed error.
But I'm trying to find a way to monitor when the manager goes down to be proactive instead of waiting for XML printing to fail.
    Thanks again for you response.

  • T500 Closing Laptop Lid but no External Monitor Output

Hello everyone. I have a Lenovo T500 (WInXP) with an external monitor.  I usually just want to use that external monitor and not the one for my laptop. However, every time I close the lid, the output to the monitor disappears a few seconds later. I've used google and searched this forum and found something similar, change the power settings. I changed it so it would "Do nothing" when the lid is closed. However, this does nothing and doesn't help me.
Is there a registry I have ti change?

I didn't see if your connected to power? there are different settings for both power and battery.
There are also bios settings for the display, since I am using my T500 now with an external LCD I have it set to external display or something like that. Its worth a shot.

  • PSE 8 monitor-output discrepancy

I've been using Photoshop Elements 8 successfully for several years. My OS is Windows XP and my printer is an Epson R1900. I consider myself to be a very good printer. But... about two or three months ago my system changed drastically. Where before I usually had near WYSIYG compatibility between monitor image and printed output now I had a very great discrepancy. If I edited an image in PSE 8 and went ahead and made a print from that edit using the settings (ICM) I had always used with no problems, the result was a dark, greenish-cast image that bore little relation to either the monitor image OR the Windows picture an fax viewer. I've reloaded both printer and PSE 8 software. This did no good
Currently, because of this discrepancy, I'm forced to use the Windows viewer for evaluation. The PSE 8 monitor image that give a correct print looks somewhat washed out and with a slightly reddish cast, one you would never think of printing as is. Some older files, say one with a typical blue sky, show up with the sky having a vivid robin's egg blue cast or have other areas of the image showing off color.
Any suggestions, ideas, or fix ideas will be appreciated.

I have two monitors.   The trick to moving something from the #1 Monitor to #2 monitor is to first
click that button between the X and the - up at the top right of your screen in the blue bar.  Hover over it and it
says "Restore Down".  This makes whatever you have on the screen less than full screen but
    still visible.
Then you can grab it and move it over to the other screen.  (Left click, hold, and drag)  For some
reason, a full screen view won't move, but the smaller screen view does.  Grab it and move it
    horizontally to the other screen.
After you have it on the second screen in the smaller size, that Restore Down button becomes the
Maximize button.  Click that and whatever you've moved will be full screen.
My set-up is a little different because my #1 screen is to my left and is the smaller screen just
because that's how my office is arranged.  I do my primary work on my #2 screen which is the
larger screen. Programs open on #1 screen and I have to move them to #2 screen.

  • Trouble monitoring output with M-Audio FireWire 410

I just got a new iMac Core Duo and plugged in my M-Audio FireWire 410 audio interface to run with Garageband 3. Changed input/output settings, input seems fine and output too, even the 410 is flashing its output lights... but I cannot hear any monitoring of real instruments or software instruments on the FireWire 410. I've tried different headphones, adapters, and I know the jacks work because I also use the 410 with Cubase on another Mac. I suppose this is more a problem with the M-Audio FireWire 410 than with Garageband 3... but does anyone have any suggestions?
iMac Intel Core Due   Mac OS X (10.4.4)

    Hi,
I have a similar problem related to the output of the M-AUdio FireWire 410.
Ive being using m-audio firewire 410 (driver version 1.7.2) together with a MacBook Pro (2GHz Intel Core Duo, OSX 10.4.7) since a couple of months without having any problem. But the last week my computer had an "unexpected problem" and I had to shut it down using the power button while garageband and itunes were working. After I restarted it again, I realized that even if I get a signal on the sw rtn 1/2 when I use itunes or Garageband, I get no signal on any of the assigned output buses. The funny thing is that when I use an analog input, I actually get signal on the assigned output bus. I uninstalled and reinstalled again the drivers of the m-audio 410 firewire without any success.
I would really appreciate any comments.
    Thanks in advance,
    Rodrigo

  • DeckLink HD Pro Broadcast Monitor Output

    Hi there
I'm new to the forum, but not new in shake. But I recently switched job, and my new job got me a Mac Pro with a NVIDIA GeForce 8800 GT, and a DeckLink HD Pro card.
    Here is the problem:
My broadcast monitor (TVlogic LVM-240W) works fine in FCP. But i can't get any output from shake. I haven't been able to find any help to this problem anywhere, a lot about the Aya cards, but nothing about Blackmagic. Anyone got any ideas what to do with my problem?
    Thanks
    Darthwolff

    Welcome to the discussions...
AFAIK, the only way to get video output from Shake and the Decklink card is to turn on Decklink Desktop, then point Shake at the resultant new "desktop".
