Monitor Panel question

First timer here, so bear with me.  I have imported my files, but the monitor panel right side is zoomed in.  I have a feeling I just missed a setting somewhere.  Can anyone tell me what I did wrong and how do I fix it?

Looks like I may have just selected the wrong video type when I first created the project.  Is there any way to change that,
or do I have to start the project over again?

  • Why would my video clips be running too fast when played on the monitor panel?

I posted my problem earlier today, but re-reading it maybe I didn't explain myself well enough.
My main question is: "why would my video clips be running too fast when played on the monitor panel ?".  This is occuring after I have selected my media from the Tasks Panel and placed them in correct order in the Timeline/Sceneline.  I knew something was wrong when I could see that the clips were not indicating their right length when viewed in the (expanded) timeline.  They were compressed into just a few seconds, whereas the clips should have been at least 5 minutes.  I ran the clips in the monitor and sure enough they ran too fast, with a lot of jerking movements.
The 3 video clips I am trying to make into a HD PAL video were taken with my Nokia N8 mobile video camera. These are in mp4 format. Can this present a problem ?  Note that when I play these individual HD clips on my computer in (Windows Media Player) they run fine.
After I placed the clips in my Project Panel (or before in the Organize Workspace), I have perforned no change or manipulation of the clips.  They are in their original state.
Just too confirm that the clips did seem to be compressed, I burnt a DVD, the resultant video ran in a matter of seconds.
    Help would be greatly appreciated.

Yes, that is what the problem was.
Although the video camera on my Nokia N8, mobile was capturing at 25fps,
for some reason once transfered over to PrE9 (via file transfer), the clip was interpreted as 500fps.  Once in Interpret Footage I was able to change the fps to 25.
    Thanks for the help.

  • I'm stuck in the monitor panel.

I want to add to my movie, but cant get out of the monitor panel. How do I get back to the time line so I can add more to the movie?

Hi, in answer to your questions
. We have elements 7 and are using a HP laptop. I shut down the computer and then realised that I had not shut down Elements first. I canceled shutdown and went back and shut the programme. When I later returned to elements , I found that I could not get out of the monitor panel.

What version of Premiere Elements are you using and on what computer operating system is it running?
Are you working with one monitor system? Have you been moving workspace panels around?
    What workspace are you in
Premiere Elements 12....Quick, Expert, Quided Quick, Quided Expert
    Premiere Elements 11...Quick or Expert
Premiere Elements earlier than 11, Timeline or Sceneline
What were you doing last before you realized you could not import additional source media?
Let us start here and then decide what next.

I have tried to view videos created in premiere elements 10 and I get the following message: "this file type is not supported, or the required codec is  not installed.  When it opens there is a red screen in the monitor panel with Korean writing which also appears in the place of each clip in the video.  I tried uninstalling and reinstalling premiere elements 10, but that did not have any effect on the video.  Do you have any suggestions?  I researched codec, but do not understand them at all.

In case you did not find it, the following is a copy/paste of the Announcement on Premiere Elements 19/NVIDIA GeForce
that appears at the top of this forum.
Premiere Elements 10 NVIDIA Video Card Driver Roll Back
If you are a Premiere Elements 10 user whose Windows computer uses a NVIDIA GeForce video card and you are experiencing
Premiere Elements 10 display and/or unexplained program behavior, then your first line of troubleshooting needs to be rolling
back the video card driver version instead of assuring that it is up to date.
Since October 2013 to the present, there have been a growing number of reports about display and unexplained workflow
glitches specific to the Premiere Elements 10 user whose Windows computer has a NVIDIA GeForce video card. If this applies
to you, then the “user to user” remedy is to roll back the NVIDIA GeForce video card driver as far as is necessary to get rid of
the problems. The typical driver roll back has gone back as far as March – July 2013 in order to get a working Premiere
Elements 10. Neither NVIDIA nor Adobe has taken any corrective action in this regard to date, and none is expected moving forward.
Since October 2013, the following thread has tried to keep up with the Premiere Elements 10 NVIDIA reports

  • No Preview in the Monitor panel

    Hello all,
when I start playing the images, there is no preview available in the Monitor panel (white screen). Only stopped sequenzes were shown and the sound is playing. This problem occurs independently from the used files. When starting Pre there is a failure shown:Problems with the Intel Graphics. But the driver is updated to the latest version. Furthermore it is not possible to change the setting from the Graphic Card as described in  the Pre Help.
Select Edit > Preferences > General.
Deselect Enable GPU Playback and in the Playback Preferences dialog, click OK to confirm.
    This menu is not available!
Thanks in advance for your help and best regards,

What model of camcorder is your video coming from and what format it is?
When you started your project, which project settings did you select? If you selected the right project settings for your video, you will NOT see red lines above your clips when you add them to your timeline. Is this the case in your project?
Have you ensured you have the latest version of Quicktime, per the program's requirements? Have you gone to the nVidia or ATI site and ensured you have the latest drivers for your graphics card?

  • .mts file video won't play in Elements 10 Monitor Panel

    Hi All
I am having trouble with .mts files.  I have Premier Elements 10 on Win7 pc, and I have just, for the first time, opened .mts video files which were taken on my Lumix FZ150.  When I drag the scenes onto the timeline then try to preview them I can hear the audio but the video in the Monitor Panel doesn't move, it doesn't play.
Is there something I am doing wrong?

What computer operating system is your Premiere Elements 10 running on? And, does your computer use a NVIDIA GeForce video card/graphics card?
IMPORTANT. Please read the Announcement at the top of this forum regarding the Premiere Elements 10 NVIDIA GeForce issue. That Announcement describes the problem and gives detailed information on how to deal with the situation.
Do you have problems getting a video display in the Edit area monitor for still and videos from other sources?
Also of importance in directing the troubleshooting are the properties of the Panasonic Lumix FZ150 video file that you are importing and the project preset that you are selecting to match the properties of that video. From what I have read of your camera, you could have MPEG-4, AVCHD, or MotionJPEG video compression. But, with that .mts file extension, that would suggest that your camera is set to record AVCHD. Is that correct?  Are you sure of the file extension and video compression for the file?
The answers to all of the above will point us to the solution to your issue.
We will be watching for your results.
    Thank you.

Everything worked fine in capture mode from a camera. When i change the 4850 ati with a new GTX 470 n vidia, the monitor panel in capture mode, looks like the black level has increased,or something like that.. Actually there is no basic problem the clip is captured correct.Does anyone knows about it?The same issue happens also in cs4.ASUS P6T, I7,12GRAM, VISTA 64 NVIDIA DRIVERS 260.99.

Thanks a lot for your reply.I did but nothing change.During capture if i click capture settings i can see the real black in monitor. Why the source and the program monitors are correct and this happens only in capture mode?

  • Monitor Compatibility Question

I plan on purchasing a Mac Pro with the Radeon X1900 XT card in the near future. I have been shopping around for a good monitor, and the Dell UltraSharp 2407WFP (found here: http://accessories.us.dell.com/sna/productdetail.aspx?c=us&l=en&s=dhs&cs=19&sku= 320-4335) caught my eye. However, at the bottom of the tech specs, it lists only PC under "Compatibility." I know of other people who have used Dell monitors for their Macs, and this monitor does have DVI, so I don't see why it would not be compatible with the Mac Pro. Does anyone know definitively whether or not this monitor would work?

    Hello,
You should be just fine. The majority of monitors are listed as compatible with PC's only. The simple reason is that the manufacturers don't care to test them with Macs and have all their resources devoted to supporting what they know.
If they mentioned that it would work with a Mac, then they would be stuck trying to answer your questions on the phone if you needed help. Since they don't use Macs, and don't maintain a staff of Mac trained people, it is easier to just omit official support. That way they can just tell you that they don't support Macs and hang-up the phone.
I've been using PC monitors with my Macs since before Apple even supported PC monitors at all (you used to have to buy monitors with Apple specific cables). I would just use an adapter to convert the PC connector to connect to the Mac video port.
In all my years, I've never found a PC monitor that would not work with my Mac. And, that still holds true today. I've used several low-end monitors with my current machines, and all work fine.
I've even got a bargain basement DVI monitor connected right-now, and it works perfectly.
Basically, if you want official support and a guarantee, then buy a monitor that specifically lists Mac compatibility.
But, if you are willing to accept that their phone support will avoid helping you, then go with any brand you like.
Understand that Dell is primarily interested in selling and supporting Dell computers. They have no interest in fielding calls from Mac users because they are not going to be familiar with OS X. Naturally, they will list PC compatibility because they know Windows very well.
But, you should also understand that the only difference between an Intel-based Mac and an Windows PC, is that the Intel-based Mac can also run OS X. Otherwise, they are just different brands of computers that use pretty much the same hardware.
    I hope this helps.
Let us know if you have other questions.

  • Monitor RBG question

    Hi all,
I'm working on a graphic for a Flash presentation. I've been working in Windows RGB proof setup. Then I realized that when I save as a JPG, it changes color. I spent a lot of time getting the colors on this abstract piece perfect, and don't relish the thought of having to go it again using the Monitor proof setup. Is there a way to convert the way the colors look in Windows Proof to be the same as it looks in Monitor RBG proof?
    Thanks so much,
    Paul

You're fighting the color management. I'm trying to point you the right
direction, perhaps with some false assumptions on my part.
If you want your work to look good on the web, convert your image to the
sRGB profile. This will give you colors that are reasonably close to your
original on the vast majority of displays out there. This is my
    recommendation.
If you want your work to look good just on your own system, then convert
your image to your monitor profile. To do this, you'll need to locate the
name of the color profile, under the Color tab under the Display control
panel. One warning about this: it will look perfect on your own system,
and maybe not so great on other people's systems. If this is how you want
to work, type ctrl-shift-K and change Settings to "No Color Management".
If neither of these is what you want to do, explain it in more detail, and
I'll try to give you more information.

  • LMS 4.2.3 Fault Monitor threshold question

Hello, I would like to know if anyone know how to find out which Fault Threshold group a specific interface belongs to.
The scenario is that in Fault Manager there is an alarm for which I want to change the Threshold Setting.
    Example Alarm:
    Event_Description HighUtilization
    Device IP x.x.x.x
    Device Type Routers
Fault Last Updated At 19-Mar-2013 09:44:25
    Component IF-router2.x.x/26 [Tu187] [x.x.x.x]
    Component Class Interface
    Component Event Code 1056
    Current Utilization 68.323204 %
    Duplex Mode FULLDUPLEX
    Event Category Utilization
    Event Source DFM
    If Description Tunnel187
    Max Speed 100000
    Traffic Rate 8540.4 BYPS
    Type TUNNEL
    Utilization Threshold 40
If I look in Monitor > Fault  Settings > Setup > Threshold  Settings.
Then expand all groups under DFM, there is no group called "Tunnel", so the question is which group this Interface belongs to?
    BR /Crille

Its defined as an 10/100 ethernet interface " Component Class Interface"  with a 40% threshold utilization which it fell below per the event notifiation of 68.3%.
    Component IF-router2.x.x/26 [Tu187] [x.x.x.x]
If Description Tunnel187 --> Interface on router
    Max Speed 100000 --> Interface type(Fast Ethernet)

  • Spry tabbed panels - question about hover

Hello, I am relatively new to Dreamweaver and Spry, but have made a website using vertical Tabbed Panels that finally looks ALMOST like I want it. I am sure that I have done some things that could be much simpler though…
    http://web.me.com/marinka9170/JL_test/JL_test.html
My problem is that I would like the tabs to stay in their hover state (so coloured and wider) when you navigate to the content panel (until you hover over the next tab of course), instead of going back to their standard grey. How do I do that?
And my other question is: in the content panels I have used custom bullets. Is there a way to assign a different custom bullet for each content panel? Do I number the content panels, like I have done with the tabs?
Any hints, tips, solutions are appreciated!
    Thanks,
    Marinka

I indeed see that your example works, but I think in my code there is some sort of conflict going on
I have copied the Source Code and the SpryTabbedPanels.ccs below and 'bolded' the parts where I think the problem is. It is probably in splitting the different tabs in 5, right?
I am sorry for asking these stupid questions. It's all quite new to me, but I've ordered a book to study more. It's just not in yet
Thanks again for your help! Really appreciate it!

  • Sliding Panels Question

Hi there. I'm new to Spry, and I'm using 1.6.1 in Dreamweaver CS3. I want to create sliding panels to showcase some work I've done, but I wanted to know if it's possible to build a scroll function for one panel which will have multiple pieces of work (not a scrollbar).
There's not enough horizontal real estate to show all the work in this particular panel at once, so I want to put a "continue" or "next" and a "previous" button/function on that panel so the user can automatically view differents areas of the panel to see the rest of the related work, without creating a number of different panels for all this.
Is this possible in the sliding panels widget, or is there just one pass per panel? I hope my question is clear.
I'm trying to decide whether to build this in Spry or Flash.
Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

I dug around a bit more and saw an example that shows me that I can do this. Thanks anyway!

  • Form Guide - Nested Optional Panels questions translations

    Hi!
I'm developping a multi language form guide. Thanks to the Paul's workaround, I'm able to translate the field caption. But I cannot find a solution to translate the questions/answers in nested optional panels. Does somebody know a way to do that?
    Thank you

  • Panel-questions + panel-poll

I would like to have custom gnome-menus in the gnome-panel (like the gnome-menubar shows applications, places,...). This is easy to do with the xfce-panel (uses xml-menufiles) but I would rather like the gnome-panel. I googeled some but couldn't find anything usefull...
Another question: is it possible to give the xfce-panel a bg?

  • Simple collapsible panels question...

(Thought I'd give this forum a try. The other discussion
category gets no traffic! It seems this is where the action is.)
I'm putting collapsible panels on the left side of web page
to be used as a sort of menu list that links to the rest of the
website. Some "tab" sections will have stuff in its associated
"content" section, namely some text that will link to other parts
of the website. Other "tab" sections will have nothing in its
"content" section, but I want to use the text in these tabs to be a
link. In other words, I have no use of the content section for
these tabs. I did a quick test and made the text in a tab to link
to another page, but it didn't do anything (though the "content"
section links of other tabs worked fine). Should I simply delete
    this part: <div class="CollapsiblePanelContent"></div>
Here's an example of the web page, though it is still very
much under construction, and no links put in place yet in any of
the "tab" sections of the collapsible panels:
    http://www.freywine.com/NewSiteExamples/index4.html
(I just want you to see how I'm using the collapsible panels, and
how the "Home" and "Order Here," for example, will have no text in
their "content" sections of the collapsible panels. Naturally, the
parts with the downward pointing triangle will have text with links
    in their "content" sections.)
Basically, the question is: what's the best way to have the
tab section be just a link and the content section to not be there
at all. I suppose I could simply not use collapsible panel code,
but then I would have to figure out how to fit a non-collapsible
panel div to fit right snug between all the collapsible panels (I'm
still very much a newbie with CSS).
Any simple way to deal with this?
I've attached the complete collapsible panel code for the one
which has the tab text as a link and nothing in the content area.
    Thanks for the help!
    <div id="CollapsiblePanel2" class="CollapsiblePanel">
    <div class="CollapsiblePanelTab" tabindex="0"><a
    href="
    http://freywine.stores.yahoo.net/">Order
    Here</a></div>
    <div class="CollapsiblePanelContent"></div>
    </div>

Youre on the right lines. Just rip all of the collapsible
    stuff out
which surrounds the actual link, as shown in the code below.
The code shows the 'Home' and the 'Order Here' <divs>
    as your code
should be, plus the opening collapsible <div> of the
    'Wine' tab.
Note the 'combined' css classes 'CollapsiblePaneltab' and
'CollapsiblePanel'(leave a gap between them as shown) The
    reason for
this is the brown bar to the left of the tab takes its
    properties from
the 'CollapsiblePanelTab' css PLUS you need to add some
    inline left
padding to get the link to line up under one another.
    <div id="sidebar1">
    <div class="CollapsiblePanelTab CollapsiblePanel"
    style="padding-left: 7px"><a href="
    http://www.bbc.co.uk">Home</a></div>
    <div class="CollapsiblePanelTab CollapsiblePanel"
    style="padding-left: 7px"><a href="

    Here</a></div>
