Monitor reports wrong version for NetWare

Question

We're all at 8.0.1 for all our agents now.
However, Monitor reports that on NetWare, it's 8.0a
But if it's on Linux, it's 8.0.1 being reported.
I'm assuming it's a bug?

Welcome to GWMonitorland. It has reported it this way since GW7 and perhaps 65. Two of my biggest problems with Novell is their naming and versioning.
Here is how 8.0 SP1 or 8.0.1 is reported: on the Netware console, the GW NLM modules shows as version 8.00.01. On GWMon, it's (as you see) 8.0a. On the Console screen, 8.0.1. If you're not on a major service pack (e.g., hp2ftf1revdbeta900000), then you're better off paying attention to the date of the .exe, .nlm, or script. The minor revs often show as the main version when queried (e.g., 7.0.2hp3 will show as simply 7.0.2). As you can tell, there's an overall lack of consistency when it comes to reporting versions as to what you think you've loaded and what certain pieces may report as the running version.
So to more directly address your issue, this is "working as designed" as best I can tell. 8.0a = 8.00.01 = 8.0.1 = 8.0 SP1. If this is not working as designed, it's been broken for years.
