Monitor setup has changed - KDE Daemon after sleep

After the monitor goes into powersave mode and is restored I keep gettung the Monitor setup has changed - KDE Daemon  box, anyone know how to get rid of this? everything seams to work but the box is getting annoying.  Logs dont show anything wrong and I have tried lots of things to fix it with no solution.

Ok still cant work this out. manually set monitor settings etc the box still pops up when waking monotor from sleep. logs still show nothing.  Can anyone help?

kde log
Note that your system uses syslog. All of kdm's internally generated messages
(i.e., not from libraries and external programs/scripts it uses) go to the
daemon.* syslog facility; check your syslog configuration to find out to which
file(s) it is logged. PAM logs messages related to authentication to authpriv.*.

  • Photoshop, multi-monitor setup has wobbly lines at left of monitors

    Hi All
I'm having a problem with jagged, wobbly lines in Photoshop CS5.1.  This has nothing to do with Smoothing or anything (the wobble is more pronounched with smoothing off however).
I believe it has something to do with my 3 monitor setup in Windows 7 64bit, Nvidia GTX 460, and some sort of positioning error PS can't get it's head around (this affects NO other programs I have like Painter or Artrage).   See below for my setup.  I have the Cintiq 24HD and Intuos 4 and the problem occurs on both tablets.  Any monitor that is set in Windows Display at '0' will have a wobbly line in Photoshop if I draw if the doc is at the left of the monitor and I then draw in that area.
If I place a doc from Photoshop in the centre of the Cintiq - no wobbles.  As soon as I move it near the top left of the Cintiq (when it's monitor position in Windows is aligned directly under Monitor 1 as they are the same size), the wobble starts.  Once it's started on a doc, it continues no matter where you try drawing on the screen after that until I close and reopen Photoshop.
This definitely has NOTHING to do with electromechanical interference to the tablets as I never physically move anything but can change it's occurance by moving the Display layout in Windows.
Any monitor For me it starts from the '0' position up to about the '474' position. If I aligned all my monitors one underneath the other so they were all started at '0', then they'd all do the wobble thing on the lefthand side (using either the Inutos4 or Cintiq).  Windows makes you have your main monitor at '0', so I alway have a problem on that monitor.  The other person I know of who has this problem (posted on the Wacom forum), has said they get around it on their Cintiq (which is the main monitor), by pushing on of their other monitors into a negative setting to the left.
It's a real pain.  Anytime I want to use my Cintiq in Photoshop I have to go into Display setting and move it to the right.  Once you get the wobbles they don't stop.  ie they are then not restricted to the left of the doc, but all over.  You have to close and reopen PS and start again.
Below is an example of the wobble.  First I drew on the right... no wobble.  Then I drew on the left.  Lines are no longer smooth, but jiggly.  Note smoothing is ON.  Wiggling is worse with it off.
I haven't a clue if it's an Adobe problem or a Wacom one.  Note that my graphic drivers etc are all up-to-date and I've uninstalled, reinstalled, cleaned reg, unplugged/replugged, tried just one tablet or other , stood on my head, for Wacom drivers (old versions and newest versions) till I'm blue in the face.  No difference.
Anybody have an idea?  PS Wacom (europe at least) do seem to know of the problem, but are not saying anything else at the moment.

No, it's got nothing to do with electromagnetic interference, or I couldn't change what happened by just altering the monitor position within Windows multimonitor display setup and not moving the tablets physically at all.  And as you say, interference would happen on every program - not just Photoshop.  There is no actual 'cursor' wobble. I've had interferance on older Intuos 3 tablets and at the edges of the old Cintiq 21UX, so know what that is like.
I think it's either the Windows OS or Wacom Driver, not telling PS something about the Monitor position Or PS not reading the info correctly.

  • MBP Changes color settings after sleep

After my computer goes to sleep, it has recently been waking up with a different color setting. Where the yellows are very dull and the screen has a blue hue. When I go to System Pref > Displays it changes back to normal without me clicking anything. It is getting very annoying, anyone know why it is doing this?
My computer is connected to a 24" LED cinema display which doesn't change colors on its own. The laptop has also done this without being connected to cinema display.
    Thanks guys

    This happens to me, also.
Just as you described - it happens when connected to an external display and when not connected.
It happens to me even without sleep; screensaver is enough.
I have my computer set to ask for a password after sleep/screensaver. Do you?
    charlie
P.S. I just did a search of the forums - this is apparently a very common problem, dating back at least to Leopard. I haven't seen a definitive fix for it yet.

  • The page setup has changed to 'portrait' and Page Setup will not change it back to landscape.

When I switched on this morning Adobe Reader installed an update and recommended removing Realplayer. I looked up how to do this but it doesn't seem to be on my machine. When I started Firefox the page setup had changed to portrait. Going into 'PAGE SETUP' and changing the setting to landscape had no effect.

Try to reset the <b>print</b> prefs on the <b>about:config</b> page via the right-click context menu.

  • Status not changing to Available after sleep?

Just recently got my wife a MacBook (white). I got her setup with iChat and it's working well except for the status. When she wakes it from sleep, it logs her back into iChat, but keeps a status of "Away". I did change the option in Prefs to "Set me as Available" when coming back or something like that.
What am I doing wrong? Anyone?

    Hi,
In the General Section of the iChat Preferences you can set one of three option on "Returning to my Computer" which normally refers to Waking from Sleep or coming back from the Screen saver.
One of the options as you say, is to set the Status to Available (If it was set to Away before).
Like you I find it does not work.
I have also tried the sub-options in the Menu Bar Icon bit about Logging out of AIM if I quit (Which Sleep will be considered as the same thing).
Basically I was trying to find if this setting over-rides the lower one.
I Set it to At User Login set my Status to Available which I know works on Start up. But from Sleep this does not over-ride the Status Message when it is set to Away.
If the above setting is not set the same thing happens (it stays as Away when I wake the computer.
Whether I have it set to Set Me as Off Line when I Quit (paraphrased) or not also does not change the Status Message on waking the computer.
Not even turning Off Auto-Reply with Away message made any difference.
    That leaves two things.
Does this setting have anything to do with Sleep of Screen Saver ? (is it something else ?)
    Is it a bug ?
iChat help has this on Setting the Status.
If you are away from your computer for a time, your status is displayed as “Idle.” Messages that arrive while you’re away wait on your screen
This implies the former. i.e. if you have set the Status as Away and physically leave the computer and the Idle time kicks in before Sleep or Screen Saver then iChat will change you Status to Idle (Although it can not actually display this varient of Idle).
Also there is not setting if I am Idle change my status to Away either.
The Idle time is preset at 600 seconds (10 mins)
My Screen Saver kicks in earlier than this and may over-ride this.
Right this minute I do not have 10 ins to do something else or wait until the Idle time kicks in.
    Summary.
This issue seems to be something based on what Away means in this context.
I suggest it refers to the Idle time (which is hidden from your Buddies if you have set Away as the Status).
    Hope this helps.

I am trying to change how long after sleep a passcode is required, but the only option I see is "immediately"...Does anyone know how to see more options?

Thanks for the help guys. Disabling Touch ID allows me to see other options...Although I don't understand why Apple would feel the need to put that restriction in place. Doesn't seem to be any sense behind it..

  • JBO-35007 row currency has changed - can timeouts cause this?

A user of mine (JDev 10.1.3.1 ADF BC/ADF Faces) is experiencing the famed JBO-35007 row currency has changed error message after a period of inactivity (~35 minutes).
Suspiciously sounds like a timeout to me. Can the row currency validation be invalidated by a timeout in the ADF framework? What side of the framework tracks the row currency? I'm guessing it's ADF Business Components. Can the timeout of the AM cause JBO-35007?
    Any help appreciated.
    Regards,
    CM.

    Hi John,
it depends on the fact the failover feature is enabled or not (jbo.dofailover).
When enabled, the HttpSession cookie that is stored in the HttpSession will also be stored on the browser (browser cookie), so that the framework can re-establish the link between a new HttpSession and the pending session state.
As 35 minutes is the default of the HTTP session timeout, I suppose that Chris is working in failover mode, and that BC4J has some problem to re-activate the current row (maybe its key ?) correctly.
    Regards,
    Didier.

  • When making a new playlist, the screen layout has changed, the playlist header is now on the left instead of the right, this does not allow me to drag the songs onto the playlist, how do I reset?

When Making a new play list, the play list was on the right of the screen and this allowed you to drag your music onto the playlist, my setup has changed to the left of the screen which does not allow you to drag your music across, how do I reset?

In the top corner of iTunes is a small icon with a down arrow, click on that and choose 'show menu bar'.
Then on the view menu which now appears choose 'show sidebar'

  • Monitor won't wake up after sleep mode

Does anyone know how to fix the monitor, so it starts up after sleep mode? When my computer comes out of sleep mode the monitor doesn't always come on. Does anyone else have this problem and do you know the cause? The computer is only a few months old and hadn't had any problems.
    Thanks,
    Shaneil

Well my solution may not be the most cientific one but it works for me (at least until the real solution comes to the public)...
My computer has the problem that when it goes to sleep mode she never comes back... but it the screen that does not comes back... all the system is workin in behind (its like the brightness level was set on the less power possible) so i had to turn off the computer and had to do for a long time some times i had to wait that the computer cooled off a little and then try again to turn it on... I some tried things that the support page of apple said it could be... but did worked out... i dont know i think is a problem over 2 factors...
    1. heating (the screen generates to many heat but, TO MANY!)
    2. tiger os the OS "sleep mode" (it knows that the screen its heating a lot and tries to go to sleep to prevent over heating and damage)
So based on this i tried conecting a external monitor to the computer while she was unable to "awake" (or to show some thing in the screen)... and it worked whit no problem at all... so my conclusion was to prevent the over heating (1st factor) and the sleep mode (2nd factor)... so I deactivated the sleep mode setting up the computer to a never sleep mode... and to prevente the over heating well I use a low bright and when i need more brightness (to se the colors of what im doing or some thing like that) I use high brightness... when I away I set the brightness level to no brightness so there is no over heat and no sleep mode (cus if it is deactivated and it over heats it will go to sleep anyway...
    Soooooo....
    1. deactivate Sleep mode...
    2. Activate a Screen saver...
    3. And remember to contro your brightness your self... and turn it off when you are not using your computer...
well i hope it works for some body :P cya...

  • Problems auto-connecting after sleep & startup (Changed from WPA to WEP)

Okay, I know there have been several issues similar to this, but after two days of sifting through posts, I still can't resolve this.
A few days ago I switched my AirPort network security from WPA to WEP-128. This was required to allow my Nintendo DS to connect to the netwrok, by the way. After the change, two similar, but slightly different problems started:
My 15" PowerBook G4 no longer auto-connects to the network at startup. The network is listed in the drop-down, and connects with no problem when I choose it manually. The computer seems to have no problem re-connecting after waking from sleep, which is odd because...
My other PowerBook, a 12" G4, won't auto-connect at startup AND won't re-connect after sleep. As above, it has no problem connecting using the Keychain once the network is selected from the drop-down.
So far I have tried, on both machines:
    - trashing the system airport prefs
    - deleting and resetting the network's keychain entry
    - repairing the keychain (no errors found)
    - turning off some unneeded power mgt options
    - disconnecting USB peripherals
I have also reloaded the software on both my AirPort Extreme base and my AirPort Express hub, as well as restarting both hubs. I've also made sure that AirPort is at the top of the network connection list.
Both laptops are running 10.4.3 and have all the latest software updates installed.
    What am I missing?
    Thanks.

Both of these replies are helpful, in that they help confirm something I figured out this morning, almost accidentally.
One thing I didn't mention was that during the change from WPA to WEP I changed the network password. Now, I assumed that since the Keychain seemed to be working and I could get on the network manually without needing to enter the password each time, that meant the new password had correctly propagated throughout the system.
So, this morning I go into the Network settings, switch from Automatic to Preferred, select my network, look at the properties, and notice that somehow it has way too many bullets for that to be the correct password. I re-entered the password and that seems to have solved the problem. The new password I had entered somehow didn't make it into this setting. I guess trashing the network prefs, or renaming the network would have had the same effect.

If "I Understand the Risks" is missing then this page may be opened in an (i)frame and in that case try the right-click context menu and use "This Frame: Open Frame in New Tab".
You can retrieve the certificate and check details like who issued certificates and expiration dates of certificates.
*Click the link at the bottom of the error page: "I Understand the Risks"
Let Firefox retrieve the certificate: "Add Exception" -> "Get Certificate".
*Click the "View..." button and inspect the certificate and check who is the issuer of the certificate.
You can see more Details like intermediate certificates that are used in the Details pane.
Note that some firewalls monitor secure (https) connections and send their own certificate instead of the website's certificate.

  • The volume on my iPad 3 has gone. I've checked the mute button, tried restarting, resetting etc and nothing has changed. I can't hear the music, hear any sound from videos. Most times the video stops playing after a seconds. My iPad 3 is only 2 months ol.

If you have lost all sound and video is freezing on you, that ain't good. Your iPad is two months old so I would not hesitate to contact Apple at all. You are entitled to 90 days of phone support.
    http://www.apple.com/support/ipad/contact/.
If you want to try a couple of things on your own, try quitting all apps and then reboot the iPad - not so much for the sound issue itself - but more as a general "start all over again" sort of approach. It might help with the video freezes.
Go to the home screen first by tapping the home button. Double tap the home button and the task bar will appear with all of your recent/open apps displayed at the bottom. Tap and hold down on any app icon until it begins to wiggle. Tap the minus sign in the upper left corner of the app that you want to close. Tap the home button or anywhere above the task bar. Reboot the iPad.
Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons.
If you use headphones on occasion, you can try plugging and unplugging those as well and see if the sound comes back.
You could even try restoring the iPad to factory settings and then restore from a backup, but unless there is something totally hosed on the iPad, that should not be necessary with a two month old device - of course assuming that you didn't drop the iPad or do something accidental that could be causing the problems.

  • Yosemite server Profile manager how setup time for password after sleep

    Hi,
In Profile Manager in Setup & Privacy is possibility setup password after sleep, but I need setup time period. Is it possible? Because when I push this profile it prevent users to setup this period and when i remove this profile (whole payload for Security & Privacy) it still prevent users to change this two setting.

    Hi CodyCodes,
Just discovered the same issue today as well.  Further complicating things, the screensaver timeout setting in Login Window doesn't apply to Profile Manager clients no matter what the setting.  This was reproduced and confirmed by the Apple Tech I was working with.  He's submitted the bug to their engineering staff.  I requested that he ask them why there is no setting for password on sleep or screensaver.  Hopefully this is resolved soon, as this feature is 99% of the reason we're implementing Profile Manager to begin with.
    Cheers

  • I have 12 core with Quatro 4000 and 5770, I want to use dual monitor setup, monitors are NEC with Spectraview-II.  How do I connect?  4000 only has 1 Display Port and 1 DVI.  5770 has 2 of each, if I use both 5770 Display Ports, does the 4000 contribute?

I just bought a 12 core with Quatro 4000 and 5770, I want to use dual monitor setup, monitors are NEC with Spectraview-II.  How do I connect?  4000 only has 1 Display Port and 1 DVI.  5770 has 2 of each, if I use both 5770 Display Ports, does the 4000 contribute any work at all?  I read where on a PC they would work together, but on a MAC they do not.
I read that Display Port has higher band width than DVI, NEC monitors for best performance they recommend using DIsplay Port.
When I was setting this up I looked at a Nvidia Quadro 4000, unfortunately it was for PC, it had 2 Display Ports, in the Mac version they reduce it to one.  I did not think there could be a difference.
Mainly want to use it for CS6 and LR4.
    How to proceed???
I do not want to use the Quadro 4000 for both, that would not optimize both monitors, one DP and 1 DVI.  Using just the 5770 would work but I do not think the 4000 would be doing anything, and the 5770 has been replaced by the 5870.more bandwidth.
Any ideas, I am a Mac newbie, have not ever tried a Mac Pro, just bought off ebay and now I have these problems.
As a last resort I could sell both and get a 5870.  That would work, I'm sure of that, it's just that I wanted the better graphics card.
    Thanks,
    Bill

    The Hatter,
I am a novice at Mac so I read all I can.  From what I understand the NEC monitors I bought require Display Port for their maximum performance.  The GTX 680 only has DVI outputs.  Difference from what I understand is larger bandwidth with the DP.
You said I have the 4000 for CUDA.  I am not all that familiar with CUDA and when I do read about it I do not understand it.
A concern I have is, that if I connect the 2 high end NEC monitors via the 5770, using it's 2 Display Ports I would have nothing connected to the 4000.  Is the 4000 doing anything with nothing connected?  I read where in a PC system the 2 cards would interact but in a Mac system they do not.
Bottom line, as I see it, the 4000 will not be useful at all to me, since I want a dual monitor set-up.
So far the 5870 seems the best choice, higher band width than the 5770, and it has 2 Display Ports to optimize the NEC monitors.
I'm not sure how fine I am splitting hairs, nor do I know how important those hairs are.  I am just trying to set up a really fast reliable system that will mainly be used for CS6 and LR4.  Those NEC monitors are supposed to be top notch.
