Monitor software wouldn't detect WVC54GCA

Guys, I'm really frustrated here.
I just got WVC54GCA today. Configured it. And it worked fine for about an hour. I could see the video on Monitor software and on camera web address. Than I could only access video through internal camera web site under it's IP address but the Monitor software delieverd on the CD wouldn;t detect the camera at all.
I had to restart the computer. Now Monitor doesn;t see the camera, I can't enter camera through web nor is it visible in my network devices.
When I restarted the device I noticed that on my router (WAG200G) it appeared with new IP address and the previous IP address is still there in the DHCP client table. Despite the fact that it is visible in DHCP table I still can;t connect to neither IP addresses of the camera nor is it visible in my Network under Windows.
Nothing works now.
I thought that this is one of those things that you configure and forget about.
Please help if you know how to.
Cheers,
Swimmer
P.S. Quick update. I have disconnected the camera again and powered it back on. Now I can access the video through web but Monitor software wouldn't detect the camera.
P.S. 1.
I noticed now that everything went back to nromal when I moved the camera closer to the router. When I first connected it it was getting signal from the router. Than I moved it elswere when I'm using Linksys range expander and everything gradually stoped working. Now when I moved it back closer to the router it works again. My understanding was that range expander should not interfere with hardware like that. I'm using all sorts of wireless devices and never had problem like this.

Yup.  You should set the ip address manually on your router and forward the port manually on your router.  I've forwarded ports 1024, 554 (for remote streaming) and 5000 to the static ip on my camera; works like a charm.
Port forwarding is on the Applications and Gaming tab on my WRT54G2 and the static ip assignment is on the Basic Settings tab on the camera.
On the camera, change the configuration type to Fixed IP Address and give the camera an ip address outside the range of the dhcp on the router.  For instance, my router's dhcp range is 192.168.1.100 to 149; any address outside this range is fine for a static ip address.
You may want to configure the range extender that way, too, to ensure that the IP's don't get changed when the router's dhcp address lease expires.
Check this out and let me know if it works...I have mine set up this way and I have zero issues with the camera falling off the network now.

  • LaserJet Pro MFP M276nw software installer not detecting printer via USB or wi-fi - Windows 7

I am trying to install a LaserJet Pro MFP M276nw on Windows 7 Home Premium x64, and I know the printer functions fine, as I have installed it on both Windows Vista Basic x32 and Windows 7 Professional x64 all on the same desktop. The operating system has been changed a couple of times, hence the multiple installs.
I downloaded the full featured software from HP.com and went through the routine of installation as per usual, except that now the software doesn't detect the printer when it requests that I connect it via USB.  Trying to install via wi-fi doesn't work because the printer still needs to be attached via USB in order to create the proper wireless handshake.  Windows 7 detects the printer, and in-fact installed the drivers for it automatically.  However, the printer installation software suite does not respond to the printer being connected, and just hangs there, waiting for it to appear.
I have tried multiple USB ports and it's the same issue.  I've installed the basic driver also available for download on HP.com, but that software does not appear to include an option for scanning files to the computer.  The printer itself will scan to email or to to a USB thumb drive, and even to a network folder, but not directly onto the computer.  If it wasn't a necessary function of an all-in-one printer, I wouldn't bother with the scanning feature and simply make do with the basic printer driver.
Anyone have some sort of idea regarding this issue?

    Hi @KP_ ,
I see that you are having issues with setting up the printer on the one computer. I would like to help you out today.
I would uninstall the software, turn off the Startup programs, Antivirus software and update the driver during the install by the post I have provided.
    Disconnect the USB cable.
    Uninstall the software.
Here are the steps to run the uninstall from the computer or the CD.
    To uninstall from program files:
Touch the Windows key and the E key to access the computer window.
    Select the C drive.
Select program files or program files x86.
Open the HP and printer name folder.
    Select uninstall.
Uninstall the software from the CD:
Touch the Windows key and the E key to access the computer window. Right click on the CD for the printer, left click open in a new window, double click on uninstall.
I would disable all the start up programs and temporarily turn off the Antivirus Software to see if there is a program interfering in the back ground. How to use MSCONFIG . Click on the start up tab and click disable all.
Download, save and then run the latest drivers. Don't Connect the USB cable until prompted during the install.
HP LaserJet Full Feature Software and Driver.
Right after connecting the USB cable, follow this document immediately. A Fatal Error Displays During Software Installation. Disregard the title. If the printer stays listed properly, don't worry about updating the driver.
    Test the printer.
Then you will have to go back and enable the Startup programs and turn the Antivirus Software back on again.
If you need further assistance, just let me know.
    Have a great day!

  • Exchange Server 2013 Monitoring Software

    Greetings,
Any suggestion for Exchange Server 2013 monitoring software that is capable of :
1- Monitoring Server Status / Health / Resource Utilization / etc..
2- Incoming / Outgoing email messages to / from  the organization
3- monitoring specific mailbox for incoming/outgoing messages
    4- spam detection
5- message content when monitoring mailboxes
    Thanking you

    Hi Jamil,
If you are using hardware appliance then you can check with the hardware appliance vendor for the functionality or you can enable anti spam agent on mailbox server role as well. Mailbox server role will provide you following anti x facilities once enabled.
Sender Filter agent: compares the sender on the MAIL FROM:
    SMTP command to an administrator-defined list of senders or sender domains who are prohibited from sending messages to the organization to determine what action, if any, to take on an inbound message;
Recipient Filter agent: compares the message recipients on the
RCPT TO: SMTP command to an administrator-defined Recipient Block list. If a match is found, the message is not permitted to enter the organization. The recipient filter also compares recipients on inbound messages to the local recipient directory
    to determine whether the message is addressed to valid recipients. When a message is not addressed to valid recipients, it is rejected;
    Sender ID agent: relies on the IP address of the sending server and the Purported Responsible Address (PRA) of the sender to determine whether the sender is spoofed or not;
Content Filter agent: assesses the contents of a message and also acts on the safelist aggregation feature, which collects data from the anti-spam safe lists that Outlook and Outlook Web App users configure and makes this data available
    to the Content Filter agent;
Protocol Analysis agent: is the underlying agent that implements the sender reputation functionality. Sender reputation relies on persisted data about the IP address of the sending server to determine what action, if any, to take on an
inbound message. A Sender Reputation Level (SRL) is calculated from several sender characteristics that are derived from message analysis and external tests.
If you are not interested to use EOP then you have the option to use GFI or any third party tool. I would suggest if you are using hardware appliance then this would be done by the hardware appliance if capable of doing this. Thanks.

  • Monitoring software (LBAVMS16) w/ WVC210

I have successfully added 11 WVC 210 cameras at different locations over the internet using the Monitoring software.
    Just a few notes:
Dyndns does not work when trying to monitor outlying cameras (cant use dyns instead of static ip in the monitoring software). The locations must be put in the monitoring software using static IP's. This needs to be fixed.
These new cameras (WVC210) are GREAT!
The monitoring software needs to be compliant with Vista 64bit! Please fix this. I understand it works with 32 bit, but 64 is the future. [edit.. mine is 32 bit . sorry, and i goyt it to work just fine]
I have used Dlink DSC 950's, and they are crap! I am selling four if anybody wants them.
I would be glad to be a beta tester for Vista 64. Good job Linksys! Looking at 11 different locations as I am writing this. Recording only motion detection. This has been needed and is a big plus for guys like me who want to monitor our outlying offices.
Message Edited by rsowell on 12-18-2008 09:19 AM

I tried it with several locations and the monitoring software would not work with dynamic IP's and DynDns.com (box checked and the DDNS name inserted, dyndns service was updated). But as soon as I put in the ip address, even without it being a static IP, it WOULD recognize the camera. At least until the IP changed.
DDNS name through  DYNDNS.com  was *****.dyndns.org. I was using the DDNS name with other software to check and insure dydns.com was updated at the time.

  • 5 tough questions relating to the monitoring software

    Hi guys,
I'm writing this on behalf of one of our partners. They are having major problems setting up the monitoring software (v 1.0.0_200809). I have asked them to verify that they are using the latest firmware upgrades on the cameras and that they are running the latest version of the monitoring software. They have confirmed that this is the case.
I have some doubts about this but perhaps you can help with the issues listed below.
    The following issues have surfaced:
    1. Issues with Graphic Card driver for Intel GMA945
    - if this driver is installed in a laptop the monitoring software (1.0.0_200809) will not inititate/start.
The error message is: <or corrupted resource files.  Please reinstall to solve this problem.>
Reinstalling the software will unofortunately not solve the problem. The only way to fix this problem is by removing the driver.
Question: Is this the only way to get the monitoring software to work and is this a known issue?
    2. The new version of the monitoring software is unable to find the cameras using "search" functionality. The only way to configure tha camera is to do it manually.
Question: Is this a known issue and how should I truobleshoot this?
    3. The cameras will not store the video feed on the Cisco NAS servers if the monitoring software is shut down. I remember from previous discussions that this should be possible but my partner is unable to get this fixed.
Question: Are there any instructions for how to set up the cameras so that the video feed is still being stored on the NAS despite closing the monitoring software?
    4. In order to setup an ftp -feed to the NAS server, each camera needs to be configured manually. According to the partner this can not be done centrally using the monitoring software.
Question: Is this really the case?
    5. According to the partner, it is not possible to use the monitoring software to view stored material that has been transferred using ftp.
Question: Is this really the case?
    Many thanks in advance!

Hello and sorry for my delay in responding (Was on Vacation).
    1) I have seen the problem you refer to and the way I got around it was to change the screen resolution, believe it or not.  I remember lowering it to 1280x800 and even have it working at 1400x1050.   That is a weird problem, and I did report that to the BU who I believe told NUUO, but for now this is the only workaround.  Uninstalling and reinstalling will not help, as you realize now.
    2) The new Utility WILL FIND all SB Cameras it supports on the LAN.  So if your PC is connected to the LAN and can route (ping) the cameras, it can find them.  Note: xVC2300 require FW upgrade to V1.01 to make them work.   WVC200 will not be recognized at all.
WAN Monitoring of course will require manual config and port forwarding to an alternate TCP port (PVC300) or an adjusted TCP port (xVC2300).
    3) Correct.  If your it off, it wont record.   This is really menat to be on a dedicated PC that should always be running, so is per design, and I do realize the old utility worked as well when off, but this new one is much improved in other areas and is still free :-)
The Camera itself can send montion detection or scheduled recordings to an FTP Server (NSS2xxx, NSS3xxx) regardless of the presence of the SWVMS16, so yes, the camera can do this too (Simultaneous; dual stream; dual codec).
    4)  Setting up the FTP client on the Camera and the FTP Server on the NSS is done with a WIZARD or manual config on the elements and is totally separate from SWVMS16, which is an additional capability.
    5)  The SWVMS16 will only save information (video) it records, so is separate fromt he FTP sourced files from the camera. To access the FTP files, just add the NSS to your network neighborhood on the NSS and browse the files (CIFS or NFS) as you would if they were on your own PC.

  • Cisco video camera monitoring software from remote location

    Hello
What is the best way to use the  Cisco video camera monitoring software from remote location.
I am talking about the AVMS / SWVMS software.
I am thinking of either a vpn tunnel or Remote Desktop (Terminal Services).
I would like to use the vpn tunnel, but am afraid that the encryption/decryption of all data will drastically slow down the data throughput.
    THanks,
    Cliff
    CCO: clifford.gormley

    Hi Clifford,
Thank you for posting. I use the AVMS software remotely and it works good. At first I changed the http ports of each camera and forwarded those ports in the router. I set up the cameras in the remote AVMS software with the WAN IP address and port number. That worked quite well. I then decided to try to reach the cameras through a VPN tunnel. I found that it worked perfectly and I was able to view up to 6 cameras. Your results will vary depending on how much bandwidth you have at each end. The important thing is the upload speed at the camera end of the tunnel. I have anywhere from 3-4 Mbps at any given time for the upload speed at the camera side and 30-40 Mbps download speed at the AVMS server side. I have also used UltraVNC to view the AVMS server through the tunnel and that worked well. Note that if you view the AVMS software using RDP you will see a black screen where the video should be. This is a limitation of RDP, not the software.
Please reply if you have any questions.

  • Cisco camera and SB monitoring software compatibility

    Hi all,
We are currently looking into Dome Day/Night Outdoor security cameras and the small business ones may not fit our needs.  I have done some research and found CIVS-IPC-2630V.
Would this camera be compatible with the small business monitoring software SWVMS16?
    Thank you.

Hi, My name is Eric Moyers. I am a Network Support Engineer in the Cisco Small Business Support Center.
Unfortunately none of the Enterprise Camera's are compatible with the Small Business Video Monitoring Software.
If using the Basic version, only Cisco Small Business Cameras are recognized. (WVC210, WVC/PVC2300, PVC300, VC220 and VC240) There are some new cameras in development, but there is no timeframe for availability yet.

  • Recommendations for log monitoring software

    Hi there
I'm looking for recommendations of log file monitoring software, preferably with a GUI rather than purely CLI based.
I need to collate and monitor log files from OSX servers, OSX clients, antivirus software, network switches and firewalls.
    Any ideas?

Hi and thanks for the advice. I've been looking at Splunk, but it seems a little complicated to set up. Guess I'll keep plugging away at it....

  • System monitoring software

What is the beast/most accurate system monitoring software.  As musch as I love my MOBO the monitoring software it was bundled with is less then par.
I have tried nMonitor from nVidia, Speedfan, and PC wizard.
    nMonitor only monitors 3 temps.
In Speedfan, I can't tell which temps are for which components.  I put the CPU under load to trya nd figure it out and what I came up with does not look right.
PC Wizard ver 1.65 seems to have a CPU temp bug.  It says my CPU is over 200 degrees C! (Obviously that is not correct.)
What is a good one to use???
    Thanks in advance.
    CK

Many people here use Speedfan intead of Core Center.  Corecenter may give more accurate readings (some whacky voltages though) but it does not work for fan and cool and quiet regulation, and some say it can cause bios corruption and stay away from it completely or never run it continuously.  I stopped using corecenter when I heard it is not a good way to overclock and I use speed fan to do the things that corecenter should do.  Speedfan is not slick, but I am finding it useful to regulate fan speeds (and sound) automatically.  It's voltages are off, but temperatures and fan speeds seem reasonably close to reality.  On my board the cpu temperature and cpu fan are both #2 and nb is fan #1 and temp #3.  There are some pretty good configuration options deeper in the menus.  Lately, with some bios, starting speedfan when windows starts is not recommended.  I am able to start with windows in the bios below so far.  Have been using it a few weeks.
everest and all the rest give wierd voltages and i don't trust any software's voltages.  bios voltage readings are supposed to be the most correct, but I have seem many that are way off consistently.
    Good luck.

  • Camera control and Monitor Software

    Hi All,
    Two questions, quasi-related.
First, does anyone know of any camera control software for Sony? I have a TR27 and an HDR FX1.
Second, does anyone have any experience with monitoring software? Specifically, I am looking at the Red Lightning DV Monitor software. It would be nice to go from the camera directly to the hard drive. Also, is there any software which lets you monitor more than one camera simultaneously?
Thanks. Any input/links would be helpful and appreciated.
    --Dana

They should produce the same EXACT version of the RAW file.
The profiles are meant to give approximately the same rendering concerning tone and color. You cannot render the exact same thing as Canon uses proprietary algorithms which Lightroom cannot use. The profiles just approximate those using Lightroom's RAW engine. Also they will only come close if you use default settings in your camera, so no highlight priority, no added saturation, etc. If you want the exact same thing, shoot jpeg or convert the RAW to tiff in DPP. That said, my experience is that the camera matching profiles come very close to out-of-camera rendering as long as you don't modify the styles.
I say they HAVE to, because otherwise who is right - who´s got the true colors (e.g. Faithful style is supposed to represent colors exactly if shot at 5200K, yet DPP Faithful differs from LR faithful????)
None of Canon's styles give accurate rendering. That is not what they are meant to do. They are meant to be visually attractive, which is very different from accurate. Faithful is not really scene referred correct color. See for some measurements of that on one of the more accurate cameras, the Canon 5D mk II, here. The way to get correct color, if that is what you are interested in, is to shoot a colorchecker chart and use Adobe's free DNG profile editor to generate a calibrated profile for your camera.
Also, is there a way to convert other picture styles one has created into Lightroom profiles perhaps through some use of DNG Profile Editor?
No. Would be neat, but is not currently possible without a lot of manual labor. You can shoot a colorchecker and by comparing the rendering in DNG profile editor to that in DPP visually and using the patch tools, you might be able to sort of get there but that is going to be very tedious. It would be nice if we were able to give DNG Profile Editor a different target than perfect rendering of the colorchecker, because right now, the only way to do it is visual.
