Monitor suspension: Part 2

Ok... I am still having trouble with my system going into suspend -- or some suspend-like situation -- and being unrecoverable.
My current question:  Could the fact that I have a USB Wireless keyboard/mouse setup be the root of the problem.  I would think it would be somehow related to the ADPI settings in the BIOS, but I am not sure.
Any thoughts?

Mr G --
I cannot seem to locate the AGP Speed option in BIOS.  Here is what AGP-ish stuff I find and how it is set:
ADVANCED CHIPSET FEATURES
LDT to AGP Lokar (Upstream)          16 Bit
LDT to AGP Width (Downstream)      16 Bit
LDT to AGP Lokar Frequency            800 MHz
AGP Mode                Auto
AGP Fastwrite           Enabled
AGP Aperture Size    256MB
Also, maybe this info is useful to someone:
POWER MANAGEMENT
ACPI Standby State                     Auto
Call VGA BIOS at S3 Resuming     Enabled
USB Wakeup from S3                   Enabled
Power Management/APM               Enabled (*note below)
Suspend Time Out                        Disabled
Display Activity                            Monitor
*  Setting the Power Management to Disabled had no effect on my problem.
Thanks!

  • Falied parts monitoring - warranty parts received handlling.

    Hi everybody
I have a senario, in which when the customer claims warranty of certain parts, delears send those parts to OEM are closely monitored by the OEM.
    It checks for three possibilities
    1. vendors sends defective parts.
    2. OEM producess poor quality goods
    3. parts are working fine and returned back to customer.
it also checks for reconditioning those parts and replacing if procument of part take loge time.
based on the results the decisions are taken wether to debit vendor,or debit dealer or debit OEM.
    my question is
how is this senario configured or handled.

There are a lot of factors involved in warranties. I'm going to close this topic just for now, and come back to it later today (or in a few days at the most).

  • How To edit Display ID/Monitor ID or erase Display ID/Monitor ID Windows 7

    Hi !
Started a tread in the other "answers microsoft forum" bur got redirected here hence they thought that this was a developer-question...
    My original Thread:
    http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_7-hardware/how-to-edit-display-idmonitor-id-or-erase-display/62eeace8-358c-4d65-8609-a3df7c3ac216?rtAction=1425277245844
    question:
Have a problem that appears sometimes.
Setting up workstations at work with multiple Display-Monitors, its part of my job...
The Actual ID that the monitors get from Windows is usually not a problem, most programs can adapt to the windows settings and everything is fine.
BUT some of the systems we run sends commands and stuff to based on the actual number of the display, the number that appears on the screen when clicking the "identify button" in the desktop/display-settings from control-panel.
Lets call it the HardWare-ID of the Display
the computer, or windows remember display´s EDID and stores the monitors that has been connected in  a list ?
If I installed the monitors/displays in correct order everything is good and works like we want it to.
So it happens that a display brakes or switch place for some reason, or maybe a driver-upgrade resets the display-list and windows now initiates the monitors in the wrong order.
the monitor that 1 want to have HW-ID 1 now has HW-ID 2, and everything is wrong, messages and commands now end up on the wrong display.
    We have 3 options.
    1 - Fix the display HW-ID
2 - Re-Configure the system and all that that includes, and hope that it wont change back at the next display-switch or driver-upgrade.
3 - re-install windows and hope that the displays get the correct ID and the continue with customer applications and so on.
I have found out that this is being stored somewhere in REG-Edit, but cant find the correct place
Having talked to HP, they don't support this kind of things... it must be a windows-problem, try with a clean install.....   c-mon I switched a display !!
Tried clean driver-installs from AMD and Nvidia for the graphics cards, worked one time, until I rebooted the machine, the back to square one...
    Then they ponited at Microsoft.
Having talked to Microsoft Support they dont support this kind of things....
I dont have the skills, but I cant se a problem with a scrips that deletes the reg-edit EDID list after a reboot ?
then it wouldnt be so complicated, simply:
unplug all but the display that you wan to be number 1
    run script
    reboot
plug in display 2 and so on ?
    clearification:
    Hi !
    The question remains.
Not sure you guys understand my problem, doesent seem so...
I have the need to sweep the computers display-memory
The Application we are using is sending the commands to to logical screen number, not primary or secondary screen.
So It is Vital that I can decide or edit the logical numbers of the displays/screens
It doesent help me at all to switch sides in controlpanel och swtich witch is primary screen for desktop.
the application still sends the commands to teh logical numbers, and we dont want to reconfigure that if we changed a display that was faulty.
    So:
I Need to disconnect displays så that I only have one connected
sweep the display-memory that is on the computer so that the disconnect monitor becomes number 2 when I reconnect it, if I dont get this memory swiped windows remembers the display and gives it the old number again.
    can anyone help me `?
    NOT connected to any Domain.
I realy cant understand how hard it can be to swipe the hardware ID of the displays and start over without having to to a clead install of windows !!

  • Idoc Monitoring - WE02

    Dear Experts,
I am in the process of configuring System Monitoring in our Solution Manager system. I have to monitor Idocs coming in our ERP 6.0 system for failed messages - status 51 and status 03. Can you please provide me some info on which objects to use for monitoring this from solution manager? I am not using Interface monitoring since the Business Processes arent defined in our Solution Manager system and we dont have the luxury to do this at this stage.
    Regards,
    Mohammad.

    Hello Mohammad,
even though you don't have the time to model business processes I would still recommend to use Interface Monitoring as part of BPMon as there the IDoc monitoring is more powerfull and flexible than a configuration via BDMO. You can create simple dummy processes which contain just one or two steps represneting the sending and recieiving of IDocs. You then use the IDoc monitor as part of the Application Monitor. A detailed description is given in "Setup Guide for Interface Monitoring" under https://service.sap.com/bpm > Media Library > Technical Information
You could then later on enhance your process models and make meaningful process models out of your dummy processes.
But only with BPMon you can specifically monitor for status 51 or 03. A configuration via BDMO monitors only in "containers" comprising several error status. Also the data collection frequency in BDMO cannot be really influenced.
So if you start from scratch rather go for BPMon and not with BDMO where you even have to transport the configured objects which is not necessary with BPMon.
Most customers that started at some point in time with BDMO changed to BPMon during the last couple months.

  • Central PI Monitoring and Alerting in Solution manager

According to SAP AG documentation [White Paper|http://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/scn/go/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/104677d9-fc8c-2e10-dc92-c4e660b0dd8c?quicklink=index&overridelayout=true] - the Solution Manager 7.1 onward provides a central PI monitoring for technical componnents and buisness alerts in a single dashboard.
My question is : does the ALE monitoring status also included in this monitor?
does the SAP PI IDoc adapter (ABAP Based) of PI 7.11 can be monitored there as well?

    Hi,
As per the below help.com ALE/Interface monitoring still part of the Business process monitoring.
    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_sm71_sp01/helpdata/en/c7/42f64707c04207b1b17a610c436a34/content.htm
But again PI Idoc adaptor can be monitored using channel monitor of PI monitoring.

  • PI Monitoring dashboard in SOLAMN 7.0 EHP1

The functionality of reviewing your PI components through Solution manager is
mentioned in many presentation of SOLMAN configuration and in sap.help.
However it is only documented in SOLMAN 7.1 documents.
Are you familair with PI Monitoring as part of Solution manager configuration using transaction SOLMAN_SETUP
    for ver. 7.01 SP 26 ?

    Hello,
The PI dashboards are available only in Solution Manager 7.1
For EHP1 you have the regular monitoring tools: Wily Introscope and the E2E Workload Analysis.

  • Best dual monitor setup (or should I say best value)

    Hello All,
As I've shared before, I run a non-profit, but have a background in film. I purchased all of the necessary equipment to shoot and edit our own mini documentaries on our work. I've been doing it for about 6 months now. The results are extremely powerful, and the work is tremendously fulfilling.
So, with each successful piece that I produce, I reward myself with a piece of equipment that will make future productions more enjoyable. Examples have been a Pelican Case, mini hard drive, microphone, etc.
I'm now interested in setting up with two monitors. Right now I'm using a MacBook Pro, and a 19" monitor. Although it works, it's kind of funky. I'd like to get two monitors and am seeking a recommendation. I suppose I should also purchase a full-size keyboard at this point as well.
Any recommendations for the monitor setup?
    Thanks.
    DG

Please forgive the lack of accurate computer language:
I use my MacBook Pro and a monitor connected via the white cable. I then have a PC connected the the same monitor, using the blue cable from the PC. The monitor I'm using has a button called "Exit". When I press this, I can either have two monitors as part of the Mac setup with FCP, or a single monitor with the PC. The MacBook and the monitor have different resolutions, but the way I have it setup for dual monitor work, it's not a problem. The real problem comes in when moving the mouse from MacBook to monitor. As they aren't aligned, it's kind of a pain.

  • Migration Monitor - How Are You Using It?

    Hello!
In this short discussion, you can help us to better understand how you are using the Migration Monitor – this better understanding would help the team responsible for this tool to adapt their automated tests accordingly and would also influence the future development decisions in this area.
    What is the Migration Monitor?
The Migration Monitor is part of the software provisioning manager as of SAP NetWeaver 2004 SR1, but can also be executed manually. It uses the EXT, WHR, STR, TPL files to control the unload and load, to accelerate the load by automatic parallelization, and to generate the R3load task and command files (TSK and CMD files). The Migration Monitor does the following:
    Creates R3load command files
Creates R3load task files if required
Starts R3load processes to unload the data
Transfers packages from source to target host if required
Starts R3load processes to load data as soon as a package is available
Informs the person performing the system copy in case of errors
How Do You Use the Migration Monitor?
Only for sequential unload and load - that is, you first unload to a local system, transfer the export directory to the target host, and then load using this directory.
    For parallel unload and load:
    a) Unload and load using a shared network directory
    b) Unload and load using transfer by FTP
    c) Unload and load using sockets
In your reply, please just name your preferred option (1, 2a, 2b, or 2c) – and why you prefer it.
Thanks a lot for your support!
    Boris

    Boris,
Options - All three but mainly Option # 2.
Option # 1 - To dynamically increase the number of parallel process from Source system. But in case of homogeneous system copies with massive database sizes, the database proprietary methods comes in handy than the R3load procedures.
Option # 2 - To reduce downtime in migrations (hetero combinations) thru parallel export/import of data loads.
    Hope it helps.
    Regards,
    Srinivas K.

  • Java Business Process Monitoring

    Hello Experts,
I want to setup Business Process Monitoring between Solman and ECC system.
Is it possible to setup the JAVA Based  Business process monitoring ?.
If its possile how to setup for JAVA Busness process monitoring.
    Thanks
    Nikkil

    Hello Nikkil,
there is no content currently shipped in order to perform Business Process Monitoring for Java components. Can you specify what kind of application you are looking at and what it would be that you owuld like to monitor as part of a business process?
We could then evaluate in what way a corresponding enhancement for Business Process Monitoring could be also useful for other customers.
    Best Regards

  • Font Menu - Multiple Monitors

I am using Photoshop CS3 with 2 monitors. I have my palettes docked on the right side of the application on my left monitor. When I click the font list in the Character Palette, part of the font menu is on the left monitor and part of it is on the right. This is very annoying when choosing fonts. Has anyone else experienced this?

Just have the Character palette floating you can toggle it on and off with the button in the option bar.

  • System monitoring (standard alerting elements)

    Hello!
I am about to set up system monitoring, primarly for my SOLMAN and of course for the sattelite systems.
Is there some reccomendations, which (standard) alerting elements (e.g. daily tasks) are to choose for this issue? (e.g. DB check, short dumps, locked user, etc.)
    Thank you very much!
    regards

    Hi!
    Many thanks for your response.
I would like to monitor all the systems with SAP DB, e.g. I would like to monitor DB part.
The very interesting MTE class for me is CCMS_DB_mcmtc with the following elements:
    - Used Log Space
    - Last successful Complete Data Backup
    - Last Complete Data Backup Return Code
The problem is, if I define this monitor in Tcode RZ20, then I receive the warning for the appropriate satelite system:
    <b><SID> : MTE class CCMS_DB_mcmtc : No MTEs currently available</b>
What are the technical steps to solved this problem?
    Thank you very much indeed!
    regards

    Hi
We have a requirement to to create the following
Configure simple monitoring application that will check for the number of concurrent  BOBJ sessions used
send out alerts to  team and manager when reaching a threshold.
Also if threshold is reached, we should also be restarting one or more CMS in the cluster to get rid of the inactive sessions.
The same application should also have the ability to send out the usage summary by day, week and month as well.
Please assist if there is any possibility of configuring the following in BusinessObjects applications

  • "Transport Monitor" in active processes eating up approx. 30% of CPU

Since updating to MacOS 10.4.9 I have noticed that my CPU has been busy even when it should be idle. When using the "activity monitor" I noticed that in "active processes" "transport monitor" was occupying up to 40% of the available CPU.
I understand "transport monitor" is part of "Palm Desktop 4.2.1" which I run on my computer.
I used the "analysis" function within "activity monitor", but I am unsure how to interpret this information.
    Any ideas?
    Thanks.
    PowerBook G4 1.25 GHz   Mac OS X (10.4.9)

I can confirm that after deleting "Palm Desktop" including the Pref file etc. the "Transport Monitor" process disappeared.
I then reinstalled Palm Desktop 4.2.1 Rev D. The "Transport Monitor" reappeared and again took control of about 20-30% of CPU. The overall computer speed seems reduced again since re-installation.
Is this to be accepted? I suppose I could just stop the Transport Monitor process manually when ever I need a faster computer. But this does not seem right...
    Any ideas?

  • Monitoring application running multiple servers. Is JMX a good choice?

    Hello,
I am looking for a framework to make a monitoring application. Right now, I am looking at JMX which seems very interesting but I am not sure to understand everything totally.
I need to check several information and to do so, I need to ask several servers. Log errors on some, stat files on other and so on. Maybe also make a wrapper with a Python application.
So my question is : Is JMX a good option ?
At the moment, nothing is implemented.
    Thanks for your advices.
    Romain

i'm not sure i understand your question completely.
if you are asking "will jmx work for all my applications, including non-java ones", then the answer is no. jmx is a java specific framework. however, jmx enabled java applications could be monitored as part of a larger application management system. there are jmx to snmp bridges which would enable your jmx management features to be used through snmp capable tools (where snmp is a management tool which is not language specific). also, some management utilities have "plugins" which know how to talk different protocols, where there is probably a good chance that jmx is supported.
basically, jmx is probably the best choice for your java based services. you will need to find another way to monitor your non-java services. once you put all those pieces together, you will need to find a monitoring tool which can "talk" to the different services in the protocols that they support.
long answer, short: jmx is a great building block, but it is not the entire solution if you are integrating non-java based services.
