Monitor the performance
Hi all,
I try to monitor some performance details in standard table RSDDSTAT i not found any details showing no data.
As well as i tried in FM RSDDCVER_RFC_BW_STATISTICS there also not showing any details. what will be the reason. Display
performance detail what i have to do.
Thanks & Regards,
R. Saravanan
HI Raj,
After installing the BI stat you need to extract the data.

How to monitor the performance of EBS iAS?
Hello All,
I am looking for your advise on how to monitor the performance of EBS (11i/R12) iAS
How to measure iAS worload during a certain period?
How to know the number of iAS hits/requests?
How to the iAS response time?
Regards,
TareqThanks EBSDBA and Helios for your time.
Are there any scripts/reporting tool that helps me monitor iAS performance other than OEM for EBS?
Note:370583.1 is very helpful in monitoring JDBC connections. Are there any similar Notes/scripts that can answer my questions:
How to measure iAS workload during a certain period?
How to know the number of iAS hits/requests?
How to the iAS response time?

How to improve the performance of Standard Extractors
Hi All,
Can you please let me know how to monitor the performance of Standard Extractors. For one of the extractor which have 350K records in source, it is taking 4hrs to load to BI.
I want to know which part of the program is taking more time.
Thanks in Advance
RKNo, that exception is thrown when the underlying
socket (tcp/ip) implementation cannot reserve buffer
space for new sockets afaik. I get it on windows
machines when the concurrent connection load reaches
17-18k connections. I do believe it's configurable
though. And what happens if your max server load is 7-8 connections an hour and you never close the connections? -
How to monitor SERVER performance
hello,
how to monitor the performance of the server, whether it is hit ratio is high or not
can u please send the query
regardsDatabase Performance Monitoring is a little more complicate than running a query to get ratio. And different version of Oracle has different tools and utilities to help you.
Strongly recommend you read Oracle® Database Performance Tuning Guide -
Monitor Application Performance
We are migrating application developed in Forms/Reports 5.0 to Forms/Reports 10G. We want to set the performance benchmark with respect to the old application(pre migration) before the migration process begins.
1. Is there any specific process or method to measure the performance of application developed in Forms and Reports.
2. Is there any tool available to monitor the performance of application.
Please let me know.
Thanks in Advance.10g has JMX capabilities built in. There are commercial JMX clients as well as free/open source JMX clients that can be used to view your application server performance/metrics and JVM information.
There is a neat one for netbeans that works great. Get on google and search for "netbeans jmx client" and also lookup the papers on how to implement JMX support in the oracle java/oc4j containers.
JMX is awesome :) -

Is there a way to monitor System Performance for all the computers in my domain?
Like Resource Monitor for a local computer, Is there a way or tool to monitor the Resources usage of all the computers in my Domain. Can I do it using 2008 R2 server?
You can monitor all performance counters with perfmon.msc, also for remote computers.
If you want to monitor systems continuously and log the perforamnce data, you will need a real monitoring solution. Microsoft offers System Center Operations
Manager for this purpose, but many other third party solution also exist for this purpose.

What function does the APS service: Web Intelligence Monitoring Service perform?
When creating an Adaptive Processing Server, one of the services that can be selected is: Web Intelligence Monitoring Service. What exactly is this service monitoring?
Is it monitoring the APS itself when chosen? Or as the name implies, is it monitoring Web Intelligence Processing Servers?
Under properties, there are configuration options for this server ( i.e. Enable Monitoring checkbox ). Are there any best practices when this service should be selected for an APS or not?
ThanksSwapnil and Shwetabh, thanks for your replies.
Using the Monitoring Service as an example, I know:
- If the Monitoring Service is running on an APS, then Monitoring ( under CMC ) will work
- if the Monitoring Service is NOT running on an APS, then Monitoring ( under CMC ) will NOT work
For Web Intelligence Monitoring Service,
- if this is running on any APS, when benefit do we get? Are there monitoring logs it creates anywhere?
- if this is NOT running on any APS, what are we missing?
In our environment we have followed APS best practices ( as per link Swapnil refereneced ) and have split services across multiple Adaptive Processing Servers. We have 2 nodes clustered together with a total of 16 different Adaptive Processing Servers of which 12 have the Web Intelligence Monitoring Service. In addtion, we are running 5 instances of the Web Intelligence Processing Server across both nodes. Without understanding what purpose the Web Intelligence Monitoring Service serves, I find it difficult to determine how many of our APS should have the Web Intelligence Monitoring Service.
If we only have 5 Web Intelligence Processing Servers, does it make sense to have 12 APS with the Web Intelligence Monitoring Service?
Thanks

How to improve the performance of the abap program
hi all,
I have created an abap program. And it taking long time since the number of records are more. And can anyone let me know how to improve the performance of my abap program.
Using se30 and st05 transaction.
can anyone help me out step by step
regds
harithaHi Haritha,
->Run Any program using SE30 (performance analysis)
Note: Click on the Tips & Tricks button from SE30 to get performance improving tips.
Using this you can improve the performance by analyzing your code part by part.
->To turn runtim analysis on within ABAP code insert the following code
SET RUN TIME ANALYZER ON.
->To turn runtim analysis off within ABAP code insert the following code
SET RUN TIME ANALYZER OFF.
->Always check the driver internal tables is not empty, while using FOR ALL ENTRIES
->Avoid for all entries in JOINS
->Try to avoid joins and use FOR ALL ENTRIES.
->Try to restrict the joins to 1 level only ie only for tables
->Avoid using Select *.
->Avoid having multiple Selects from the same table in the same object.
->Try to minimize the number of variables to save memory.
->The sequence of fields in 'where clause' must be as per primary/secondary index ( if any)
->Avoid creation of index as far as possible
->Avoid operators like <>, > , < & like % in where clause conditions
->Avoid select/select single statements in loops.
->Try to use 'binary search' in READ internal table. -->Ensure table is sorted before using BINARY SEARCH.
->Avoid using aggregate functions (SUM, MAX etc) in selects ( GROUP BY , HAVING,)
->Avoid using ORDER BY in selects
->Avoid Nested Selects
->Avoid Nested Loops of Internal Tables
->Try to use FIELD SYMBOLS.
->Try to avoid into Corresponding Fields of
->Avoid using Select Distinct, Use DELETE ADJACENT

Monitor = slow performance
Hey everyone, I own a 2.5 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo, 2GB DDR2 SDRAM, 17" Macbook Pro (08) running Leopard v10.5.8
I recently purchased a 23" Samsung SyncMaster B2330 LCD monitor. Which I have connected to my Macbook Pro via DVI/HDMI cable.
I'm not sure why, but it seems that my computer is running fairly slower! A performance rate that is very noticeable in the work I do. Even small things such as browsing the internet I notice a huge difference. Now when I plugged in the monitor the only settings that were changed was obviously the Screen Resolution which changed to 1920x1080 instead of the old 1600x1200. I did not install any drivers for the Samsung monitor, I don't really think there is a need to.
Before this monitor I had a 19" or 20" Acer LCD monitor which was connected via VGA and I had no problems with performance with that monitor, everything was the same. Is it maybe because the screen resolution is higher that the performance is going down? I mean it's only a 23" monitor, not a huge flat panel 70" TV display!
Can someone please explain to me what is going on, or maybe guide me in the right steps of fixing this issue or even providing information as to what I may be doing wrong.
Thanks! Very much appreciated!

To quote:
"Certain external monitors and LCD displays: Certain displays may emit harmonic interference, especially in the 2.4GHz band between channels 11 and 14. This interference may be at its worst if you have a portable computer with the lid closed and an external monitor connected to it. Try changing your access point to use 5 Ghz or a lower 2.4 GHz channel."
In other words some monitors just do that. -

Should I monitor the SQL Server tempdb for user activity?
I am currently auditing all databases on SQL Server 2008 R2 for specific events ( database accounts related activity) . I get alot of events generated for
tempdb. I am monitoring the following events 47, 102, 103, 104, 105, 108, 109, 110, 111, 113, 117, 130, 170, 171, 173, 176 is what I am monitoring.
Do I need to monitor tempdb or is it alright to exclude the
tempdb?
Thanks in advance. What is your tempdb configuration? Is it located on separated physical drives? Are you observing bottleneck on tempdb?
--user sessions that are
--allocating internal objects, including currently active tasks
SELECT
t1.session_id,
(t1.internal_objects_alloc_page_count + task_alloc) as allocated,
(t1.internal_objects_dealloc_page_count + task_dealloc) as
deallocated
from sys.dm_db_session_space_usage as t1,
(select session_id,
sum(internal_objects_alloc_page_count)
as task_alloc,
sum (internal_objects_dealloc_page_count) as
task_dealloc
from sys.dm_db_task_space_usage group by session_id) as t2
where t1.session_id = t2.session_id and t1.session_id >50
order by allocated DESC
the allocation bottleneck is caused
when allocation structures are accessed
by concurrent threads in conflicting modes.
Since the database id of TempDB is 2,
the search argument ‘2.%’ represents any page
in TempDB across any file. If this page happens
to be GAM, SGAM or PFS, it will represent allocation bottleneck.
Note, in a concurrent application, some blocking is expected so
you will need to baseline the allocation waits when your
application is performing normally.
Only when the waits exceed the baseline significantly,
it signals that you are incurring allocation bottleneck.
select session_id, wait_duration_ms, resource_description
from sys.dm_os_waiting_tasks
where wait_type like 'PAGE%LATCH_%' and
resource_description like '2:%'

Single 5508 traffic segregation options
