Monitor's native resolution no longer available
I've got a Mini running 10.5.6 with a 22" LCD that runs at 1680x1050 natively. I recently disconnected the Mac and plugged it to my standard definition TV for some old school Nintendo gaming at 640x480 and it worked beautifully. Now, when I reconnect the Mac to my 22" LCD the native resolution is no longer available. The best I can get is 1600x1200 which is not the native widescreen resolution. At this resolution the display is stretched horizontally. I've tried using the "detect displays" button, rebooted several times, removed the monitor cable... none of that seems to help. Are there some sort of prefs that I can trash? I tried removing some files from /System/Library/PreferencePanes/Displays.prefPane/Contents/ but that only ended up making the pane in System Preferences disappear. Luckily the pane came back after I put the files back.
Anyway, if anyone can help me with this I would really appreciate it!I tried Quix's solution but got a strange result.
I don't have another monitor, but I disconnected the plasma and used Screen Sharing to log onto the machine and set the resolution to 1280x768 (that was the closest available resolution in a very long list of choices).
When I plugged the plama back in, the image was offset. The left 1/3 of the screen was blank and only 2/3rd's of a finder window was visible. When I ran "Detect Displays" it revered to a lower resolution and only gave me 3 resolution choices.
This is really frustrating. -
Anyone can help with the below issue please? Much appreciated.
We have about 2k+ messages in sys.transmission_queue
Telnet to the ports 4022 is working fine.
Network connectivity has been ruled out.
The firewalls are OFF.
We also explicitly provided the permissions to the service account on Server A and Server B to the Service broker end points.
GRANT
CONNECT ON
ENDPOINT <broker> <domain\serviceaccount>
Currently for troubleshooting purposes, the DR node is also out of the Availability Group, which means that we right now have only one replica the server is now a traditional cluster.
Important thing to note is when a SQL Server service is restarted, all the messages in the sys.transmission queue is cleared immediately. After about 30-40 minutes, the errors are continued to be seen with the below
The

P 29830 Could not find the connection to the SQL Server that
corresponds to the routing address tcp://XX.XXX.XXX.199:4022. Ensure the tool is connected to this server to allow investigation of runtime events
The IP that corresponds to routing address is no where configured within the SSB. We are yet unsure why this IP is being referred despite not being configured anywhere. We identified that this IP belongs to one of nodes other SQL Server cluster, which has
no direct relation to the source server. We failed over that irrelevant SQL Server cluster and made another node active and to our surprise, the data from sys.transmission_queue started flowing. Even today we are able to reproduce the issue, if we bring
back this node [XX.XXX.XXX.199] as active. Since, its a high business activity period, we are not investigating further until we get an approved downtime to find the root cause of it.
When we get a approved downtime, we will bring the node [XX.XXX.XXX.199] as active and we will be running Network Monitor, Process Monitor and the SSB Diagnose all in parallel to capture the process/program that is accessing the irrelevant IP.
Once, we are able to nail down the root cause, I will share more information. -
The transaction is no longer active - Transaction timed out after 30 second
We have an intermittent error here, and I'm a rookie. The error results in a 500 being sent to the customer every 10th-20th POST and only occurs under heavy load. The heavy loading is over the for the day, but it'll be back.
My first suspicion was the app code doing transaction work and having database performance problems. But the app is non-transactional and the database is fine. The server farm nodes (4) are all experiencing the problems at equal rates, and the other apps on the farm are fine, so it appears to be app-specific rather than rooted in server state or database state.
I looked at the stack a little more closely and it appears to be some kind of internal persistence issue, but a completely foreign one to me. We have no Persistent Stores configured, so I don't know where to even start on this puppy.

at weblogic.work.ExecuteThread.execute(ExecuteThread.java:200)
at weblogic.work.ExecuteThread.run(ExecuteThread.java:172)This was actually my first conclusion as well. But when I went to the Data Source for this connection, I found it's a non-transactional driver. That's what made me go back and give the trace a second look. I don't see any references to the Data Source in question. It's OpenJPA stuff and Session persistence stuff.Non-XA drivers can still participate in an XA transaction via a variety of JDBC data source options - for example, labeled "1PC" and "LLR" on the console. (If you want to understand the particulars search for "JTS" or "LLR" in the JDBC edocs).
You seem to be suggesting maybe the setting can be made in a config doc, possibly of the app itself, right? Right. EJBs have a transaction-timeout attribute.
As opposed to setting it in the console. WebLogic has a domain wide default transaction-timeout setting that can be set on the console, but I tend not to recommend using it. In addition, there's something called a "deployment plan" which can be used to override some of the common EJB attributes via configuration, but I'm not personally familiar with its usage.
But isn't the setting vapor if we're using a nonXA driver? No.
I wonder if this thing couldn't be telling me it's waiting on the persistence subsystem to come available to store simple session data? Sometimes the problem is that there are periodic app requests that are more complex/larger than others. Sometimes the system is simply overloaded, and takes 30 seconds to honor a request that might normally take 10 seconds.
That other app is all about persistence. What if app2 is sucking some persistence subsystem dry and app 1 is waiting just to store session data? Could be.
If the nonXA thing really does kill the quick timeout workaround, how could I health-check the persistence subsystem?Don't know. At a wild guess I'd check for CPU's at 100% on all involved serves, and examine database stats. -

jitDebugging value set in the system.windows.forms section.
The application must also be compiled with debugging
enabled.
For example:
<configuration>
<system.windows.forms jitDebugging="true" />
</configuration>
When JIT debugging is enabled, any unhandled exception
will be sent to the JIT debugger registered on the computer
rather than be handled by this dialog box.

How to monitor transactions in OEM
Hi All,
Can anyone please tell me how can I monitor transactions in OEM 12c Cloud Control?
Thanks in Advance!!You can manage them with the Java Console but with limited functionality. It will be best to use Grid Control if you have the license.

ILife 11 no longer available at Apple Store
Went to the Apple Store this morning to get the URL for the iLife 11 disk page and found it was no longer available.
Therefore, any user who needs to purchase a copy of iDVD will have to go to Amazon.com or eBay.com.
OTAt least external optical drives are cheap and easy to get!
And they use the tray to hold and deliver disks instead of the slot. I don't like the slot. I do a lot of audio book ripping to get them on my iPod and with the slot in my iMac everything heats up too much and sometimes freezes. With the tray drive in my old G5 (which I access via Screen Sharing as it does not have a monitor) is can rip 10 disks in a row without any problem.
When the G5 finally gives up the ghost I'll get an external optical drive. -

I Always used "my alerts" to buy albums and songs. It was my primary source to find music I like.
I just noticed that from days it is no longer available.Hi,
Based on my research, this monitor is based on the Cluster Shared Volume related Events:
Event Log Rules
http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/dd491018.aspx
Please also see the Events listed:
Cluster Shared Volume Functionality
http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ee830309(WS.10).aspx
However, I could not find the Events means the “cluster
shared volume is available again”; therefore, I suspect this cannot be monitored based on Event Log.
In addition, I just noticed the status of a cluster shared volume can be queried by PowerShell script. Hope this can give you some hints:

NAMED_SEQUENCEs: The transaction is no longer active
Hi all,
I am currently trying to get Petstore 1.3.1 going on WLS 7.0.0.1 an got
into quite some trouble (btw, does anyone have experience with this
cofiguration?). After successful deployment in /application I tried the
"populate database" link on ~/petstore/index.jsp and got:
java.sql.SQLException: The transaction is no longer active (status = Committed). No further JDBC access is allowed within this transaction.

Hello -
We are attempting to use a design where a connection will remain in use over multiple
transactions.
Is there any way to get weblogic to allow this? No, at least not jts connections. Non-XA connections need our management to
ensure all the work gets committed or rolled back atomically. It doesn't
cost anything to always obtain jts connections in the context of the tx
they are needed.
Besides XA, you could get a plain non-transactional connection and do your
own jdbc commits/rollbacks...

Feature to disable touch screen when pen is detected is no longer available in windows 7
In N-trig drivers with windows vista there was an option where one could select the option to disable the touch input when pen in near the screen. That feature is no longer available when I installed new n-trig drivers in win7.
I use my tablet a lot to take notes. But with dual mode on it detects input where I rest my palm on the screen to write. Every time I have to go and disable touch input completely before I start writing and enable after I finish.
I there any way to enable auto mode with Windows 7 n-trig drivers?
This question was solved.

I talked about this with HP tech support and they don't know anything about it. I don't even know whether they are qualified enough to provide support. They were just blaming the problems on Microsoft and N-Trig. I knew the problem is with the drivers and I wanted them to let N-Trig know that people like us are waiting to the Auto feature. But instead of considering my complaint they hung up on me not once but twice. -
I installed a new printer and now Photoshop Elements tells me I can't print. The error message is "The saved printer information is not compatible with this version of Photoshop Elements, or the saved printer is no longer available. You will need to check your printer settings before printing." I have uninstalled and re-installed Photoshop Elements, checked my printer settings and still I can't print a photo.

I did not deactivate a photoshop cs6 before there was a new "C" hard drive installed on my computer and a Win7 Pro fresh install too. How can I activate photoshop on the new hardware if I can't deactivate it on the old hardware that is no longer available? Any help will be appreciated.
If it's the same machine (same CPU) there should not be any need to activate. The actiovation is tied to your CPU.

Error msg, please help :) "The item you tried to buy is no longer available"
Hi there, I am using a Macbook pro with Leopard with the newest version of iTunes. Many, many times when I have tried to purchase the newest episode of LOST, I click 'purchase' and type in my information and click 'yes', and for an instant it says 'purchasing' and shows the striped purchasing par across the top for only an instant, and then that disappears and an error message comes up, saying
"The item you tried to buy is no longer available.
The availability of the item changed while you were using the store.
The same item may be available with a different price or elsewhere
on the store."
In past weeks, I have been eventually able to purchase the episode, after trying to purchase and receiving the same error literally hundreds of times. Why do I try hundreds of times? Because I want to see LOST! And I will have to face the wrath of my disappointed housemates if I fail to present the episode in time. But this is very, very, very, very frustrating! Please help, iTunes! Or anyone, any help will be greatly appreciated. But this glitch has been going on literally for weeks/months! I expected it to be ironed out and fixed completely by now, but it is not at all, it is just as bad as it was when I first noticed it shortly after the beginning of LOST season 4, a few months ago.
Also, when I try to email iTunes, I am sure that I can email iTunes if I finally pick a subject that does not apply, but I do not want to do that.
It is also very, very, very frustrating, whenever trying to email iTunes, to be forced into picking a subject from a very, very limited menu. Many questions, such as this question, do not fit at all into any of the choices presented, from which a person is forced to choose a subject, before being allowed to type an email to iTunes.
I look forward to any help anyone can give regarding this error message, so that I will be able to purchase the new LOST episode from iTunes. Thanks for your help!I had the same issue this morning downloading a pre-order of Alanis, Flavors of Entanglement . I noticed that the only thing that had changed fro me was that I had some song credits for purchasing ticketmaster tickets over the past few weeks. When I went ahead and spent my remaining credits... it downloaded with no prompting or trouble. Maybe the credits issues hangs it up?
