I already try to download a a driver but still the same so what can i do.thanks

Hello cyborgT9000,
It's always a good idea to include what operating system you are using and the make and model of your computer. If you are using an added video card then knowing what video card you are using will also be helpful.

Why is it that when I plug my Macbook Pro to an external monitor, the external monitor turns black and shows the mouse only

Hi, yes preferences sees there is a second display it recognises what make of monitor it is etc but I just get a blank blue screen on the monitor when I change it to the hdmi setting! I have tried with mirroring on and off, rearranging the displays in the preference window and lots of different resolution settings but with no difference.
An old MacBook connects fine so the monitor and hdmi port must be okay. I'm sure we have used the cable before but it could have been with the previous MacBook Air. The current one I'm using is a mid 2011 version running lion and is (according to software update) all up to date.
Any thoughts or help would be appreciated!

  • MBA monitor turns black then returns to normal when I tilt the laptop a certain way

    Hi!
Less that 2 months after buying a new macbook air, I started encountering this problem. While working (on a relatively light task - I don't have several applications open, just a few), my MBA screen would suddenly turn black. I noticed one time, the music on my iTunes also stopped playing together with the screen turning black. No, there's no magnet nearby and the laptop was never bumped or dropped. It was super new! And this happens regardless of whether I'm at home or somewhere else like in a mall or cafe.
Three months later, (yes it took me a while because I had to finish a certain project first), I brought it to the apple distributor service center (because it's still under warranty) but it's been more than 7 days now (they promised to give me an update in 7 days), but they still could not give me any report. Could it be a defective unit? I mean, it was less than 2 months old when I started encountering these problems.
Has anyone encountered a similar problem? Do you think I should ask the store I bought it from to replace it? I'm a freelancer and this has terribly affected my work already.
I took a video while this was happening and uploaded it on YouTube. I showed the vid when I brought it to the service center: http://youtu.be/tR9dCji7djI
Btw, I'm not sure about the OS I put below. All I know is that it's not upgraded to Mavericks yet.
    Thanks!

Normally, an iPhone will remember what you had your volume set to right before you unplugged your headphones last and set the volume back to that when you plug them in again. Do you have a habit of tuning your volume down before unplugging?

  • Monitor turns black after random interval

I have a Samsung SD850 32" monitor connected to my Mac mini (2012) using a displayPort cable.
When I startup the mac everything works fine, but after some random time (sometimes 10 minutes, sometime an hour) the screen turns to black.
Only by restarting the mac can I get my screen back, again for a few minutes, 20 minutes, ...

If you mean the monitors Eco settings, then yes, I have disabled everthing...

    Hello
I see that you are having problems with the screen going blank right after start up, is that correct?
While looking for information on your computer I found this link. It is troubleshooting steps for blank screen issues for your model computer. Try these steps and they may help with the problem.

But the external monitor remain black… so I turn it off then turn it back on, it said "No VGA signal". Does it means I have to use VGA adapter instead? • Screen turns black suddenly, then re-emerges within a second

    Hi,
here's a new strange issue with my new Asus Eee PC: Recently, and perhaps it's because some updated packages, the screen turns black totally without warning, and shows up again as if nothing has happened. That is, no matter what I currently do, at any time the screen turns completely black (not even dark or something like that) for just a second, and appears again simply. Nothing strange can be noticed, my session just continues as if this didn't happen.
I haven't had any success finding the triggers for that behaviour, it seems so accidentally ... be it browsing the web, right after session startup and everything else. What I've noticed though is that it happens only a single time within a session and both on battery and on power.
Graphic chip is an Intel Mobile 945 GME, and I'll add my xorg.conf as soon as I can. Strangely, there is no note in Xorg.0.log either.
What I'm currently doing now is checking whether this also happens in a GNOME session. Sounds strange, but the first time I've noticed this behaviour is with Openbox, and the last days I was using only Openbox. Still I don't know whether Openbox might cause this problem.
I'd be very glad if someone could give me some hints on tracking down this issue. Perhaps this also happens at someone else's machine.
    Gratefully,
    Leye

Good to know that there are other people with the same issue as well. As long as I use Openbox, I've deactivated gnome-power-manager, though I hope this will go away with new updates. In the meantime, deactivating gnome-power-manager is o.k.
I don't know though what you should do if you rely on the whole GNOME desktop.

  • My iMac turns to black sometimes and need to restart it and then turns black again in 2 to 15 mins... how do i solve this problem?

My imac turns to black someitmes. And I need to restart it... sometimes it works good for like 30 min, sometimes it turns black again even when i was typing in my password and need to restart it again and again untill i really angry that i have to leave it alone as i am going to break it.
So, how do i solve this black screen issue?
I can still hearing the musics and vedios and games that are playing.

It sounds like you are having a overheating issue.
As old as your iMac is, have you cleaned out the dust? Dust buildup can lead to over heating issues. Remove any and all things plugged into it including the power cord, Remove the RAM access grille. Vacuum all openings starting with the RAM access area (air intake). Vacuum all ports and plugs, DVD slot and the opening across the top of the rear of the body. Blow compressed air through all your openings and vacuum again to remove any dust you loosend. Reinstall the RAM grille. Plug in the keyboard and mouse if not blue tooth. Insert power cord...
You are now in a perfect position to do a

    Shut down the computer.
Unplug the computer's power cord and ALL peripherals.
    Wait 15 seconds.
    Attach the computers power cable.
Wait another 5 seconds and press the power button to turn on the computer.
It is the 5 second timing that initiates the reset.

  • HP monitor 2159m Black after 2 sec.

    Hello,
My monitor a Hp 2159m is working perfect for a lot of years now.
But I have a problem now! When I turn my screen on (don't matter wich computer it is connected to) after 2
seconds it turns black. It is not on a specific moment in the startingproces of the computer, or login screen always.
I cleaned al conection points and I used diffrent cables and computers. It is clearly a problem in the screen.
    Can you help?
    Yours Faithfully,
    Stijn

    Hi,
Did you try a monitor reset?
Power off the monitor and PC. Unplug the monitor from the PC and the electrical power.  Now hold down the power button on the monitor for 60 seconds. Plug everything back in and power up the monitor and PC. You may have to set the Source input in the monitor's menu. Only use one active video source input and set that as the default in the monitor's menu.

  • 17" studio display turns black

    Hello,
My 17" Studio Display turns black after I change my display-resolution.
It wont change when I restart the computer.
I can only startup in the save mode(holding the shift key at startup).
It had problems before when I tried to start a game(zoo tycoon).
The display whent also black, but restored after a forced restart.
    Does anybody know some advice?
    Marc

You sound as though you have a similar problem that I am experiencing. I also have a Studio Display (Graphite Clear)
I was trying to connect my powerbook to a second display which is my old graphite CRT model. After hours trying to resolve the same problem, with my powerbook giving every indication that it was connected and operational, but I was still not getting an image on the CRT screen.
Eventually I discovered one small footnote on a Cinema Display help forum which said that the ADC to DVI adapter is not compatible with CRT monitors.
No mention of this is made anywhere on the ADC DVI adapter spec.

  • Monitor went black after changing resolution

I changed my mac mini resolution to something higher. The screen went black and now it never shows anything on it anymore. I turned off the mac and the monitor but still the same problem when I turn the mac back on. How can I get to see the screen again?

    Hello Bill,
Welcome again to the Apple Forums.
Most likely you have picked a screen resolution and/or screen signal frequency that is not compatible to drive your monitor.
You have a couple options available to you.
    Option 1.
Restart your mini computer and turn off the monitor.
Let the mini computer start up completely.
The mini will detect no monitor is detected and default to a lower resolution and frequency setting.
Turn on your monitor after the mini has completed its start up.
    Option 2.
Restart you mini computer and leave the monitor turned on.
Hold down the shift key on the keyboard after you hear the start up tone.
The mini will start up in Safe Boot mode and switch to a lower resolution and frequency setting.
    Cheers
    Jan J.

  • T440 external monitor turns off

I have two T440s that will turn off the external monitor(s) while you are using them. The 440 is docked and using a 22" external monitor, mopuse and keyboard. I installed Windows 7 ENT and used the lenovo TVSU to update all the drivers and the power management. You can be sitting there working alond and suddenly the external monitor goes black. If you move the mouse to laptop LCD and change the refresh rate, it will turn the external monitor back on. Nothing else seems to make it come back on. I have another T440 that works fine in the same dock. the only difference is that the one that works correctly, still has the original Lenovo image on it. No drivers are missing. Any ideas what I need to install or update to get this working correctly?

If it is a permanent solution, than great job, but doing it on over 10 000 laptops it is not practical solution.
Fortunately there was patch released for solving this problem of hardware compatibility bettwen laptop and docking station.
    http://speedy.sh/dRhJw/fwdphb01.exe
To make it work laptop must be in docking station before running this softwate.
Hope this will help anyone who still have this problem.

  • Scrollbars turns black and OS hangs for a second every half a minute

    Hi,
For a few weeks I've been having this very annoying bug where suddenly all apps scrollbars turns black and the mouse/keyboard hangs for a few second then they reappears and mouse/keyboard are working again.
Here's a screenshot of what it looks like when scrollbars are going black:
    http://i.imgur.com/Uk1rXse.png
At first it was doing it about 1 time every 5 minutes but now it has become literally unworkable as it hangs every 20-30 seconds.
I tried killing all the active processes (apps) to see if it would fix the problem but no luck it still hangs very often.
Any ideas or suggestions about that?
FYI: I'm using a multi-monitor setup just in case that could help figure out what's happening.
Thanks and have a nice day.
