Monitor will not tilt
I just received an HP ProDisplay P19A Monitor and regardless of how much I try to force it, the monitor will NOT tilt. It feels like it's locked. I'm so frustrated and can't believe they ship it this way. I have tried to move it both on and off the base. HELP!
try reading this and see if it helps.

External Monitor will not display full view MS apps.
I have a HDMI monitor that was previously working fine. The other day I went to use Word and Excel and the applications would only appear in the lower toolbar. When I would select them they would not enlarge. They remained in a thumbnail view. My email and Internet work as expected. Any ideas what's causing this?

I have read your post on how your external monitor will not display full view Microsoft applications on your system, and that certain functions will not work on your desktop. How long ago did your applications work properly? I would be happy to help you, but first I would encourage you to post your product number for your computer. Below is a is an HP Support document that will demonstrate how to find your computer's product number. In addition, it will also help if you indicate which operating system you are using; and whether your operating system is 32 or 64 bit. The more information you can provide, the better!
How Do I Find My Model Number or Product Number?
Which Windows operating system am I running?
Is the Windows Version on My Computer 32-bit or 64-bit?
Please re-post with the necessary information, this way I will be able to research this further for you. I look forward to your reply!
Cheers!

Since the latest set of updates, my monitor will not go to sleep. Instead I get the Check HDMI screen saver on the display. Any ideas on how to fix this?
Problem solved. Slightly loose connection on the back of the tower. Once I tighten the monitor's connection, the monitor went to sleep.

Monitor will not awaken from sleep
PowerMac G4 Dual 1GHz Quicksilver. OS 10.5.2, Apple Cinema Display. After sleeping, monitor will not awaken. Display is visible when screen sharing from another computer. Requires restart.
Recent changes:
Started using Time Machine on an existing internal drive.
Installed a Time Capsule Airport Base Station in the house.
Started using the built in Screen Sharing software.
Upgraded to 10.5.2.Here's the basic steps , including checking the parameters. My all time favorite, using reverse logic (sometimes).

F2105 HP Monitor Will NOT Stay Awake
Failed to awaken when W8 computer did.
Have tried the monitor on W7, XP, another W8 computer and a Mac OsX - on all of which the monitor had previously worked.
When the monitor is first hooked up (VGA, DVI) or turned on the monitor shows the expected display for about 3 seconds and then announces that it is going to sleep due to no input.
The menu button does nada. Nor does holding down either the power button or the menu button for 2 minutes.
I see reports of this on the forum going back to 2010, but no one seems to have solved the issue that I can see.
To me it seems that it might well be a firmware issue on the monitor's board. Does anyone know how the firmware can be rebooted or replaced?Hello @PanzerFaust,
I understand that your HP f2105 21 inch LCD Monitor will not stay awake and you are looking for a resolution to this issue. I am providing you with some steps you can try below:
Step 1. Unplug the power cord from the back of the monitor and the wall
Step 2. Hold the power button down for at least one minute
Step 3. Plug the power cord back into the monitor and then into the wall outlet (not a power bar or surge protector)
Step 4. Press the Menu button on the monitor
Step 5. Navigate to the Factory Reset option and select it
If the above steps did not resolve your issue you can try the monitor on a computer or other device to see if the issue persists. If it does I think it would be best if you contact HP Technical Support for repair options.

After years of good service, my monitor will not turn on when I turn on the MacPro.
I am sorry to hear that.
Tell us some model numbers for your display, your display card, which Mac Pro, and stuff like that and Readers would love to speculate on what the most likely problem (and maybe even solutions) might be. -

I have a HyVision mv220 LCD monitor. After I shut down the Mac Pro the monitor will remain on with an odd blueish screen. In order to get the monitor to shut down I have to turn it off with the power button. I also tried this using Bootcamp and on the PC side the monitor will shut off (or power down or sleep... what ever it is called) when I shutdown. Anyone know how to fix this?

HP 2311C USB Monitor will not work with Windows 8.1
Just done a clean install of Windows 8.1 on my HP Spectre XT Pro.
The HP2311C monitor is working fine as a USB hub and the built-in Network card but will not detect the monitor as a USB monitor.
This was working when it was a Windows 8 build and previous Windows 7 build.
I have downloaded and installed all the HP drivers and run the HP Support Assistant to make sure everything is up to date.
My two other collegues who have done the same upgrade with the same kit and are also having the problem.
If we plug the HP2311C into a Windows 8 or Windows 7 machine the USB monitor works fine.
Tried several reboots, connections and uninstalls, which have not worked. Also there are no event logs to suggest an anwser.I am having the same problem with my SPECTRE PRO 13 and Windows 8.1 - most unhappy about it. There is no 8.1 driver for the L2311c and I get no help out of HP as to when there might be one . These items are not cheap in NZ and I feel I have wasted my $$. It works fine on XP!

External monitor will not go to native resolution on my macbook pro
Hi, I have just bought a 22" Westinghouse monitor connected to the dvi and I have no idea on how to display its native resolution of 1680x1050 I have tried mirroring the two monitors and it will not allow me to view the native resolution on my new monitor.
Any help with this is greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance.
Message was edited by: earnerichearnerich,
When mirroring, your Macbook Pro will default to the highest resolution of the lowest-resolution display. In this case, your external monitor must be driven at your Macbook Pro's highest resolution; 1440 X 900.
If you configure the external monitor as an extended Desktop, you can increase its resolution to its maximum. In extended Desktop mode, both displays can be driven at their highest supported resolution.

Performance Monitor Will Not Work
The checkbox for Enable Performance Monitoring under the
debugging options tab in my CF8 install will not stay checked. Also
when I try to use the performance monitor to monitor CF8 it does
not work. Any ideas?CF7 migrated to 8, applied fix as in kb402900 but no change
for me... cfstat can't find cfserver and no instance available in
perfmon
however i DID get it to work... it looks like the migration
process made .bak of all the xml files
the neo-metric.xml file had the format
<wddxPacket version="1.0">
<header />
<data>
<struct type="coldfusion.server.ConfigMap">
<var name="cfstat">
<string>true</string>
</var>
<var name="cfstatport">
<number>7999</number>
</var>
<var name="simpleLoad.sampleRate">
<string>5</string>
</var>
<var name="reqTimingWindow">
<string>10</string>
</var>
<var name="simpleLoad.constLoad">
<string>200</string>
</var>
<var name="simpleLoad.maxRequests">
<string>500</string>
</var>
<var name="cfperfmon.pullfreq">
<number>1.0</number>
</var>
<var name="simpleLoad.sampleSize">
<string>50</string>
</var>
<var name="cfperfmon">
<string>true</string>
</var>
</struct>
</data>
</wddxPacket>
and neo-metric.bak had the format
<wddxPacket version="1.0">
<header />
<data>
<struct type="coldfusion.server.ConfigMap">
<var name="simpleLoad.maxRequests">
<string>500</string>
</var>
<var name="simpleLoad.sampleRate">
<string>5</string>
</var>
<var name="reqTimingWindow">
<string>10</string>
</var>
<var name="simpleLoad.sampleSize">
<string>50</string>
</var>
<var name="simpleLoad.constLoad">
<string>200</string>
</var>
<var name="cfstat">
<string>true</string>
</var>
<var name="cfstatport">
<string>7999</string>
</var>
<var name="cfperfmon">
<string>true</string>
</var>
<var name="cfperfmon.pullfreq">
<number>1.0</number>
</var>
</struct>
</data>
</wddxPacket>
i noted that cfstat port in the old shows
<string>7999</string> and in the new cf8 it shows
<number>7999</number>
the entries are also in a different order (but i'm guessing
that shouldn't be a problem..right???)
i renamed neo-mertic.xml to neo-metric.cf8 (as backup) and
renamed neo-metric.bak (the cf7 version) to neo-metric.xml ,
restarted cfservice and now cfstat works and there's a jrun
instance in perfmon
you may be able to fix it by simply changing
<number></number> to <string></string> in
the existing version of neo-metrics.xml (unless the tag order does
count)...I didn't try that...
note: I had already applied the dll fixes so that may or may
not be required... -
I am moving to a building with only cable tv reception. I plan on ditching an old, huge (not flat screen) tv and will use my hp s2031 monitor with a tv tuner that will receive from a cable connection. I will gladly pay for premium channels like hbo, starz, etc., but my hp s2031 monitor has HDCP, which apparently will block premium channels. Am I incorrect? Surely hp has a fix for people who are willing to pay for content. I cannot afford a new monitor, and I do not want to lug my current giant to the new location. The screen on my laptop is much smaller.
This question was solved.
View Solution.You are incorrect. HDCP (high definition content protect) prevents HD content from being sent over analog signaling. Since your HP s2031 monitor has both VGA (analog) and DVI-D (digital) inputs, you will need to use the DVI-D input to watch HD content. Your cable box will most likely have a HDMI output. To use this with your monitor will require a HDMI-to-DVI cable.
