Monitoring & controller options via hardware?

I have this msi gnb max motherboard
http://www.msi.com.tw/program/products/mainboard/mbd/pro_mbd_detail.php?UID=387
The Fuzzy logic software monitors some fan speed. What fan speed does it actually monitor? Are there slots on the mobo so I can hook up my fans which can display/tell me the RPM for each fan? I also have a Thermaltake butterfly 480W PSU which also has somemitoring, & controlling options. Can I do the same, hook it to the motherboard?
Following the link to the mobo website, I have all the optional accesories. The trouble is my system looks clutterd from the inside, & I cannnot use the last PCI slot due to the wires curling at the area. Here are some pics of the D-bracket, S-bracket, firewire, bluetooth, etc.

Can I place them upfront at the 5 1/4' drive bays? What is the fuinction of the D-braket monitoring if it lights up at the back?
Also another function is the PC alert 4, It measures things that I am not sure. Anyone knows what it does? Anyway to change the display from using the application to using some front panel with monitoring capabilities? If so which one do you suggest? Thanks.

If I understand you correctly you want to send SNMP traps regarding AP status to a 3rd party NMS from a WiSM instead of a 4400 WLC, right?
If so, the WiSM is effectively two 4400 WLCs in module format. It shares the same configuration options, though there are some small differences.
In regards to SNMP they have the same options. You can define the UP/DOWN/ASSOC/DISASSOC states among other things. Mind you however that at least since 7.0.116.0 there is a discrepancy between the ASSOC and DISASSOC trap as they are in different MIBs, of which the one with the ASSOC trap is not up to date.
The WCS itself is nothing more than another trap destination for a WLC next to 3rd party NMS.

  • I was using a ps3 controller connected via usb as a gamepad when I had Snow Leopard installed - the other day I downloaded Mavericks and now it no longer works. Solutions?

I moved from 10.6.8 (Snow Leopard) to 10.9 (Mavericks). Apple support won't help because it's not their hardware. It's not a playstation controller, it's Spartan brand, and it never connected via bluetooth (it continues to not connect via bluetooth in Mavericks which is fine). I always just plugged it in and it ran because apparently Apple included drivers for it from Snow Leopard onward. However, in Mavericks that's not the case, as when I plug it in nothing picks it up, and when I tried to connect it via bluetooth I would enter the pairing code and then it wouldn't pair. Anyone got any thoughts/ideas?

Thanks for no help. Such a supportive community. I figured it out on my own. I can only connect it via usb cable (which I'm happy with) and in order to do that I had to go through the bluetooth connection steps for some reason. It doesn't show up as paired but I did the steps outlined in this video - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Efk77f6d98Y -, plugged the controller in via usb cable and then it worked.

  • K8T Neo-FIS2R - P20378 Sata Controller option missing in BIOS. Cannot disable

A few hairs left....& those are disappearing quickly.......!!!!
I currently have Windows XP PRo running under a Promise SATA Drive. (NO RAID REQUIRED)
In order to allow for a fallback situation (which I am still using swapping between WIN XP & Vista),  I found a 20GB IDE Disk attached it to the standard IDE controller  & did a clean install of  VISTA ULTIMATE on the 20GB Drive...So Far so good.
Next I booted up changed the boot sequence to pickup the 20GB IDE drive first ...Vista Came up....Still so far so good.
Then I found my mouse ...& both USB printers were not recognised.....2 days later I have them all going okay....one problem at a time....
The only issue left ... I cannot see the SATA Drive attached to the promise controller.....I have tried following a few of suggested methods to load the promise drivers that are around......still no luck.  Most of the posts I see are around installing VISTA on a SATA drive...my case is just seeing a SATA drive this not the O/S disk.
Moving on ...no luck with the Promise Drives ...so I have tried changing to the VIA Controller by unplugging the SATA cord from the Promise controller & plugging into the VIA Controller ... I boot up & still no luck...The BIOS picks up the VIA change as I see a option to use  <TAB> to setup  RAID during bootup.. I do not want RAID only a single SATA Drive.  One of the things I read was to turn off Promise  via the BIOS settings . The manual indicates I need to access this by going to the "Onboard PCI Controller option", here I should be able to turn off the P20378 S.ata Controller...
my problem is ...I can see only the Lan Controller as a option to disable/ enable the other options including the P20378 S.ata Controller.. are not visible.. hence I am unable to disable the Promise SATA Controller within the BIOS..... HELP  pretty please.....   I can happily run VISTA but I do not have 150GB visible to me & my current disk space is tight.....I need that 150GB ...........
    signed...frustated NOOB
PS I have the most recent drivers/ bios etc according the MSI's Online S/W synch tool (which I run in XP Pro as the vista version fails.... DOH)
    MB --> K8T NEO FISR2
    Memory 1GB
    Appreciate your help ..... TA

I agree with Hans, as far as we know there are no drivers for Vista to use the Promise controller, yet.
Same old, same old, Vista and no drivers.
You just have to wait and hope there wil be Vista drivers for the Promise controller.

  • Using EXA with VIA hardware

According to xorg.freedesktop.org, EXA now works with VIA Unichrome:
    Supported:
        * i128 (Solid and Copy only so far, incompatible with DGA, only tested on T2R4 cards)
        * radeon (r100/r200 with Render accel, r300 and r400 core-only. DGA 2d acceleration unsupported).
        * sis (sis/xgi; Solid and Copy only)
        * trident cyberblade and xp4 (Solid and Copy only)
        * via (Solid, Copy, Render)
    However, when I add
    Option "AccelMethod" "exa"
to the "Device" section in xorg.conf, EXA is not used, and I get this in Xorg.0.log:
(WW) VIA(0): Option "AccelMethod" is not used
This happens with both the xf86-video-via and xf86-video-unichrome drivers. Could someone please explain to me why this is happening, and how I can get EXA working with one or both of those drivers?

    JGC wrote:
What makes you think Xorg 7.1 will be better with compositing in the classic ways? EXA has been improved, but it's still experimental and slow. The only improvements I've seen is rendering glitches that got solved and a complete API change to make it more usable.
You will need an OpenGL compositor, like metacity or a patched up version of compiz, and then, you still won't be able to use compositing with AIGLX, since the required driver extensions are not implemented in all DRI drivers.
Also, rendering on a shitty VIA chipset with shared memory and experimental flaky drivers (what else would you call a chip where 3 driver projects exist for and where the developers don't like eachother) don't know what is faster, CPU or "GPU" rendering...
Wait, the required extensions haven't been implemented at all for Via hardware? I thought that it could do compositing if it could handle textures with OpenGL...
(FWIW GPU rendering is faster than CPU rendering on my machine. Unichrome is very low-powered hardware, but for most things it's good enough to get the job done.)
The only plus of the VIA chips are the documentation which are available unofficially. The only problem with it: it's taiwanese english, which means your VIA unichrome card has grammar correction instead of gamma correction on some pages of the specsheet.
LOL, that probably is a big problem. Might explain the crashes with BZFlag.

  • Mesh AP joins learns controller IP via DHCP and joins different controller

    Hi ,
I am testing 1552e mesh AP.It gets its IP information from a lucent qip dhcp server.the problem is this AP gets an IP address and obtained controller IP via option 43 but when it tries to join it goes to another controller not the one on option 43. I have entered the MAC address of this AP in 10.107.133.40 under security - MAC filtering here is the log:

  • RAID Card/SAS Controller Options for MacPro1,1

What options do I have with a MacPro1,1 for a SAS controller and/or hardware RAID?
The two products on the apple store (linked below) both have unfavorable reviews. It is also unclear what MacPro models the two cards work with.
My target configuration is 4 SAS drives in RAID 5.
Older? 256MB cache raid card: http://store.apple.com/us/product/MA849Z/B
Newer? 512MB cache raid card: http://store.apple.com/us/product/MB845Z/A
Thank you to for reading and for any assistance you can offer.

Any app on the iPad which has the ability to connect to the Mac over the network shouldn't care whether the Mac Pro is wireless or wired - provided your network is configured so that the iPad and Mac Pro are on the same subnet (basically their IP addresses need to be the same except for the last number). Have you tried using the controller app with the Mac Pro wired as it is?

  • Set top and bottom inset spacing values in Text Frame Options via jsx script

I am looking for a way to set the top and bottom inset spacing values only to 2 points in Text Frame Options via a .jsx scrpt.
For years, I have used a script that sets Preferences, such as:
    with(app.storyPreferences){
        opticalMarginAlignment = false;
        opticalMarginSize = 12;                // pts
I would like to add the code to this same script that would make Top = 0p2 and Bottom 0p2 but leave Left and Right as 0p0.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Here is the full .jsx file that we now use to set preferences.
Ideally, this could be modified to include setting any text frame created to have 0p2 inset Top and Bottom, but 0p0 Left and Right:

  • How to give browse and monitor only options of an ICM script to a certain group?

I am looking for an option in the Feature Control Set, how to give "Browse and Monitor" only options for a certain group in our contact centre. If someone give me some clue, it would be appreciatable.

    Hello Praveen,
This work at some point. But it's not resolving what I intend to do. When I give "Read Only" previledge, to the certain group, it won't be able to do other tasks what they do day to day. I am looking specifically to give read only previledge in the scripting level. Not at the configuration level.
    Thanks.

  • Monitor IBM x server hardware component runing Linux

We’d like to monitor IBM x server hardware component, we knew there is a IBM MP.
    However, the official document said:
“Extensive monitoring of the health of hardware components for IBM System x servers and BladeCenter x86/x64 bladesrunning Windows”
My customer is running Linux on x servers, so this MP does not support it?
Does anyone know how to monitor hardware components of x servers running Linux? (any other MP or workaround is appreciated, thanks)

I've seen this lockup several times, when this happens, X aborts and tries to restart itself several times (actually gdm does it), and I won't get in X until I reboot the whole system.
I haven't seen this with the xorg-server from testing yet, but with 1.4.2 I could reproduce it now and then by playing a few games of aisleriot on my G33.

    [proteus@localhost ~]$ cat /var/log/Xorg.0.log | grep EE
Current Operating System: Linux localhost 2.6.16-ARCH #1 SMP PREEMPT Wed Apr 12 18:59:19 CEST 2006 i686
(WW) warning, (EE) error, (NI) not implemented, (??) unknown.
    (II) Loading extension MIT-SCREEN-SAVER
(EE) VIA(0): Unknown Card-Ids (1565|1200), report this to [email protected] ASAP
(EE) VIA(0): [drm] drmAgpAcquire failed 1023
(EE) VIA(0): [drm] Failed to initialize DMA ring-buffer: 1005
The above is with Openchrome drivers, but the same messages are present with both xf86-video-via and xf86-video-unichrome as well. This really annoys the hell out of me, because a) not having AGP DMA means a very large performance reduction when using OpenGL, and b) AGP DMA worked fine when I was using Xorg 6.8, and with earlier Xorg 7 packages (from when Xorg 7 was in Testing). Could someone please explain to me what is not working, why it's not working, and how to get it working again?

    Nope, that doesn't work either.
For what it's worth, I always got the "Unknown Card-Ids" message, even with the Testing version of Xorg 7, and with Xorg 6.8.2 - and AGPDMA works perfectly for both of those.
Now, I tried doing X -configure to create the config file and not getting rid of the vendor/model "information":
    VendorName "Unknown Vendor"
    BoardName "Unknown Board"
That gets rid of the "failed to initialize ring buffer" error, but AGPDMA is still not enabled:
Current Operating System: Linux localhost 2.6.16-ARCH #1 SMP PREEMPT Wed Apr 12 18:59:19 CEST 2006 i686
(WW) warning, (EE) error, (NI) not implemented, (??) unknown.
    (II) Loading extension MIT-SCREEN-SAVER
(EE) VIA(0): Unknown Card-Ids (1565|1200), report this to the driver maintainer ASAP
(EE) VIA(0): [drm] drmAgpAcquire failed 1023
And now, here's something I should have noticed a while ago... Check out these (edited for clarity) screenshots of xorgcfg in textmode:
In Xorg 6.8.x, VIA cards were listed where the red line is pointing. Now they're not listed there, or anywhere in xorgcfg.
Likewise, the "via" driver is simply not listed; again, it was in Xorg 6.8.x, even after the installation of the necessary DRI snapshots for VIA hardware.
Note that the above is observable with any of the available Unichrome drivers installed - xf86-video-via, xf86-video-unichrome, and xf86-video-openchrome all produce the same results.
Also, I can't confirm this for xorgcfg's graphical mode, for the simple reason that the graphical mode just crashes:
    [root@localhost ~]# xorgcfg
Warning: Cannot convert string "menu10" to type Pixmap
Warning: Cannot convert string "menu10" to type Pixmap
    Can't create rules structure
Think this strange stuff has any bearing on the AGPDMA situation?

  • MacMini (2011) problem with Thunderbolt display if 2nd monitor is connected via HDMI/DVI adapter

    Hi,
    iam running a MacMini (2011) 2.3GHz i5 with Mac OS X 10.7.4 16 GB 1333 MHz DDR3 256 GB Samsung SSD.
If i connect a Thunderbolt display only - all is fine.
But if i connect a 2nd monitor ( Samsung S23A700) via HDMI / DVI adapter (original Apple) the major screen (Thunderbolt Display) sometimes
is going black and immidiately back to normal. It looks like that it happens very often if i scroll down with the Apple Magic Mouse.
    Any ideas?
    Thanks in advance
    Thomas

I have exactly the same problem. MacMini Server i7 (mid 2011) Macmini5.3.16Gb ram.
    Mini and Thunderbolt no blink-outs.
Mini and Thunderbolt and Dell 23" connected to HDMI-DVI connector, the Thunderbolt display blinks out when system is under stress as in the Develop module of Lightroom 4.
I thought it was a problem with my Thunderbolt display, and since its on a VESA mount, I didn't really want to haul in in to the Apple Store.  I decided to be sure it was the dosplay...
I borrowed a MacbookPro i7 and ran it from a clone of my Mini. No problems aster hours of use. (But with only ONE monitor.)  That suggested that there was no problem with the Thunderbolt Display.
I decided to run the Mini with only one display.  Again no problems. I plugged in the Second monitor to the HDMI port and within 2 minutes I had my first "Blink-Out".
I ran the rest of the day without the second monitor with no problems.
I conclude the mini will not work reliably with two monitors if one is a Thunderbolt.
I was using two Dell Monitors before I got the Thunderbolt Diskplay (for 3 months) without incident.
