    Hi,
We have configured CCMS monitoring for Adapter Engine for our client.
In RZ20 im able to see the alerts come up,with the default data that the system provides.
    1. I need to send  a mail when the alert is triggerred, but if I try to set the autoreaction method, it is greyed out and I get a info saying that the adpter engine node cannot be changed.  How do I get over this?
    2. Incase im able to set the autoreaction method , I want to send additional information like communication channel name etc in the alert message. How can I change the text in the alert email?
    Thanks

PS: Rewarding points will be given for helpful answer.

    Hi Sunil,
Below are the components you need to install for updating the j2ee server..
    ADOBE DOCUMENT SERVICES 7.00
    BI META MODEL REPOSITORY 7.00
    BI UDI 7.00
    DI BUILD TOOL 7.00

    SAP VIRUS SCAN INTERFACE 7.00
    SAP_IKS_7.00
    UME ADMINISTRATION 7.00
First update the JSPM version and then use the updated JSPM to upgrade the above components.
The sequence of installlation will be taken care by
    JSPM itself..
There are two suggestions I would like to make.
    1. If you upgrade j2ee Engine ,please upgrade other usage types EP , XI etc if any to the same SP level.
    2. Please stick on the SP06 as it is the most stable version available with maximum hotfixes as other SP's have lot of problem in some component or the other. From SP07-SP09 none of them are stable and SP10 is relatively new and so bugs also would be new!!..
the follwing is the path in the service market place where u can find all the components listed.
Support Packages and Patches"-->SAP NetWeaver" --> NETWEAVER" -->SAP NETWEAVER 2004S" -->Entry by Component" -->Application Server Java
Hope the above info is usefull...

  • CCMS Monitoring of Java Engine

    Hi Guys and Girls,
I have configured a central system for CCMS monitoring.
I am able to see the paramters for abap part.
I have uploaded a J2ee scenario and it is running in GRMG Tcode. I have also activated ccms service in SICF.
But i am unable to see my java server nodes in RZ20 -> j2ee template monitor set.
The j2ee template looks like this.
    Allsystem
      -> <SID>
          |
          -> J2EE Engine
          -> J2EE Applications
          -> J2EE Logfiles
        +-> CCMS Selfmonitoring
       + ->Operating System
I can see parameter details for CCMS Selfmonitoring and Operating System.
But J2EE Engine, Applications and Logfiles and just there with no sub nodes.
am i missing some setting. Request your help on this.
    Thanks and Regards,
    Raghavan

    Hi Raghavan,
Can you please check the note 1065754 as this can cause similar problems to what you have. Can you also check the following
CCMSPING is able to monitor if a system is accessible and if the instances are up and running (ABAP and JAVA instances)
GRMG is able to monitor if a HTTP application is up and running.
You have to install the SAPCCMSR agent to view the J2EE monitor information via the RZ20 transaction in the ABAP system
You have to install SAPCCM4X agents, to improve the CCMS monitor concept or for additional monitor functionality like using central auto-reaction methods or log file monitoring.
The J2EE availability didn't work because the old CCMSPING functionality was still used. All the systems in the availability configuration in the transaction RZ21 may be using the RFC destination "CCMS_SYSTEM_PING_
Can you change this to the new agent.
And after this please re-initialized the whole availability structure by executing the function module
SCSM_AVAILABILITY_STARTUP_METH one time manually in the transaction SE37 and activate the new CCMSPING technology in your system.
First of all I think the problem  is related to the availability and you don't need the sapccm4x agent or sapccmsr to have the availability alerts in RZ20. If you want to extend this functionality, let's say
you want to get email alerts whenever one of your system is down you should install the sapccm4x agent for ABAP or sapccmsr for non-ABAP.
We have to focus only on ccmsping at this stage.
The ccmsping program (agent) only exists as Non-Unicode version and is able to work with Unicode and Non-Unicode instances. After registering the ccmsping agent it is necessary to restart the instance (or at least to reset the monitoring segment into warmup status) so the startup method for availability monitoring is able to
determine if there is an agent running registered with push option or not, because in this case other function modules have to be used.
Once check whether ccmsping is working fine?
If you get the error message when you check ccmsping like Message No. RA100
This message means 'Neither instance nor logon groups found' and it means that the ccmsping registration wasn't successfull.
its better to register with the newest version of ccmsping as per note 1013331 CCMS agents and kernel: Patches 2007
Also PLease review the Note 1065754
I hope the above helps you.

but when we change it to phyiscal IP address of the cluster server it is working fine.
Could you please let me know any setting need to be done
    Sincerely
    Paresh

    Hi Paresh,
    >> Tns ping command is also not working when we give host name as virtual host of JAVA system
but when we change it to phyiscal IP address of the cluster server it is working fine.
    >> SQL error 12505 ORA-12505: TNS:listener does not currently know of SID given in connect descriptor
Virtual hostname must be resolved on both hosts while configuring SMD. Otherwise you'll not able to access Oracle Listener.

  • CCMS CEN MONITORING FOR JAVA INSTANCE (Portal)

    Hi,
Installed sapccmsr agent and configured CCMS in CEN system.
    1. Installed sapccmsr on remote system(java)
    2. Activated background dispatching & central sytem dispatching in CEN.
    3.Assigned central auto reaction methods.
Able to get data from CCMS agent.
    SMTP is working fine.
I'm not able to get alerts.
When i checked the status of alerts it is in ACTION_REQUIRED and remains the same. Is there any configurations i'm missing plz guide me.
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi,
Goto RZ21 then select the remote agents for your system,
If u have registerd the java system ccms agent through visual administrator,u have to start the ccms agent as a service manually and then check in rz21.
Here it shows the status of ur java ccms agent. If it is online then wait for 10-15 min you will get the alerts data.Else go to change mode and make this agent online.
Hope this resolves ur isue else revert back.

  • 1636215 - Performance monitoring for the Advanced Adapter Engine

    Hi ALL,
How can we monitor the performance by changing the parameter to true in the above note please please help me
    Thanks,
    Raj

    Hi Dheeraj,
Since you've gone through the note, I'm assuming you know how to activate the performance monitoring for adapter engine.
However, there are reservations against doing it in any system Dev/Quality/Production. Reason being, it becomes performance/load intensive when the perf. monitoring is on.
Still, you can diagnose bottlenecks and execution trends in Dev/Quality using performance monitoring as suggested in the note but be aware that your box is coping well with it. Please note, once activated, you don't have to do anything else. System will automatically collect performance data and you will be able to browse through it using the performance monitoring link.
    How to use it???
You see a performance monitoring link in Monitoring Home (navigate via Configuration and Monitoring home from PI/PO homepage).
It will help you analyze the flow of message on periodical basis (hourly/daily etc) and will give you more stats on number of messages in that time duration, average time taken, message sizes (min, max and avg), interface-by-interface detail of runtime consumption at every stage etc.
Please go through standard SAP help for more clarity:
Monitoring Performance - Advanced Adapter Engine - SAP Library
Apart from this, there is this great blog by Suseelan around monitoring:
    http://scn.sap.com/docs/DOC-35805
    Hope this helps.

  • Kernel Patch level in JAVA Engin

    Hello All,
I have planned to upgrade the kernel for JAVA engine (Version 640) and checked for the patch level. It appears as release 640 and i am not able to find the patch of the kernel(tried in system info page and jalunch -v option). Later I came through a thread in this forum which stated there is no patch level for Java Kernel. Is this right? If this is right then how do we upgrade the kernel for Java engine
    Kindly clarify
    Regards,
    Anand

    Hi,
In Java, kernel are identified in SPS not in terms of patch level like in ABAP systems. so whatever will your SP stack level of your portal, the same will be the kernel level of your portal.
So if you want to upgrade your portal kernel alone, you cant. You have to upgrade your whole Portal SPS to take your portal on new kernel and SP stack level. Latest SPS Available in the market place is 24 as of today.

  • Choosing a 3D Engine for Java

    Hi.
I've been looking at the options of 3D engines for Java. Obviously, the first place I looked was at Java3D. But I've heard that it can be slow at times - I also happen to think it is a good, high-level API.
I've looked briefly at products such as gl4java, VTK and Jazz3D.
I'd like to know some pro's and cons for Java3D, and the above, and other, engines.
What I need is X3D support, and the ability to draw shapes over a background image, and of course, for this to be fast : )
I'm hoping you can give me some idea as to which APIs are better.
    thanks
    james

    There are others too...
    A JOGL-based scenegraph-API like xith3d...has no website i assume, but here's a thread about it:
    http://www.javagaming.org/cgi-bin/JGNetForums/YaBB.cgi?board=jogl;action=display;num=1060308805
Openmind (mentioned before, but here's the link):
    http://www.mind2machine.com
jPCT (a little different from the others, because it does software and hardware rendering...anyway...):
    http://www.jpct.net
    and a thread about it:
    http://www.javagaming.org/cgi-bin/JGNetForums/YaBB.cgi?board=3D;action=display;num=1061478645
There are even more, but most of them are rather outdated and unsupported. Hope this helps.

For WCL we need to install java engine as add-on on the system.
Is it possible to install the java add-on on this host ? or do we need to upgrade our SCM system for installing the java add-on engine ?
Another concern is, if we install (if possible) java add-on on the current SCM 4.0 system, will it be usable with the WCL 4.0 ?
Please let us know on the above issue for any further concerns.
    Please help.
    With regards,
