Monitoring JMX with What's Up Gold v11

I'm not a Java developer but work with a lot of them (I am in IT, not dev). We use What's Up Gold to monitor our servers and applications. We would like to monitor our Java application with What's Up Gold. This includes monitoring Java and Tomcat.
Any help would be appreciated!
We've not been able to even get simple SNMP monitoring going. Would like something more like the JConsole within What's Up Gold.
Thanks,
Chris

Hi,
I am not too sure about how you could possibly plug any of this in "What's Up Gold" as I don't
know this product, but the apache site has some doc about monitoring Tomcat with JMX, using
a JMX ant task on the client side.
http://tomcat.apache.org/tomcat-5.5-doc/monitoring.html
I have also written some example to show how to get at the JVM information using java, or jruby..
See:

http://blogs.sun.com/jmxetc/entry/how_to_retrieve_jvm_information

Hope this helps,

  • 3d monitoring..with what?

i bought a mac mini 2009 (right before the brand new model dropped...darn) and i was wondering since the new mac mini (2010) "supports 3d" i was just wondering what do you do to hook one up to 3d monitoring with fcp7? i want to get a 3d monitor that is compatible with both fcp7 and my mac mini (which is the 2009 not hdmi equipped model), but i cant for the life of me find a 3rd party display that i know will do 3d with both final cut (using tim dashwoods plug in?) and a 2009 mac mini. no 3rd party company lets me know if its compatible, i dont care if its active shutter based or polarizing i just want to use my fcp7 on my less than 1 year old mac. i am a student and want the cheapest 3d monitor i can get to make content in 3d. thanks!!!

on apples page about the new mac mini it says
"It brings more pixel-pushing power to the latest 3D games and graphics-intensive applications"
so i just wanted to do 3D editing in fcp7 with some sort of 3d monitor (ideally the cheapest). tim dashwood has a plug in to do 3d work, that can be downloaded for free but i want to be able to cut it for whatever consumers are using to view stereoscopic material (active shutter/polarizing). so i have the mac, software, and plugin i am just trying to find a monitor thats inexpensive. ideally if i could find one that is active shutter and one that is polarizing that work with my mac mini and are small sized/cheap i would be really stoked out. thanks

  • What is going on with the Sony Wireless Gold Headset for the PS4?

Can anyone tell me what is happening with the new Sony Gold Wireless Headset for the PS4? Seen here: http://www.bestbuy.com/site/gold-wireless-stereo-headset-for-playstation-4-and-playstation-3/3353002...
The release date provided by Sony was 2/10/2014. Every other store and website, including Amazon, Gamestop, etc. is selling these now. Best Buy still has them listed as a "Pre-Order". I went to a store today, and they didn't have them out on the shelf. When I inquired about them, they told me that they had them in stock in the back, but were NOT allowed to sell them to customers. No reason was given. I then called the only other store in my area, and they too said that they have them in stock, but due to instructions from corporate, were NOT allowed to sell them to customers.
This flies in the face of everything I'm seeing online, which is that people are walking into other Best Buy locations and buying them without issue. The website still has them up in Pre-Order status, but does say will ship them in 1 Business Day. I would really like to buy these from BB today, rather than waiting for shipping or getting them from Amazon. There is NO reason why these shouldn't be able to be sold yet.
Does anyone have any idea what is going on?

    Hello MMcCraryNJ,
This headset looks pretty great! I can certainly understand wanting to pick a pair up as soon as possible.
I’m not sure what may have been going on, but it appears to be resolved at this time since the listing on BestBuy.com now has these as “Add to Cart.” If they were still listed as “Pre-Order” over the weekend, it’s entirely possible that the SKU hadn’t been made available to sell yet in store either. Stores may have had them in stock, but the system may not have allowed the sale. I apologize for any inconvenience that this caused.
I understand that you had been looking at other options for purchasing this headset, but if you’re still looking to buy one you should be able to do so at any Best Buy store that currently has them in stock or through BestBuy.com.

  • What larger monitors work with the 15" vga G4 iMac

What larger monitors work with the 15" vga G4 iMac?

It is not so much how large but rather a question of resolution and how it would look on a larger monitor than the original.
All iMac G4 15-inchers supported: 640x480; 800x600; and 1024x768 at a fixed 4:3 ratio--no provision for widescreen. The old rule of thumb for decent clarity for 4:3 ratio CRT monitors was:
    15-inch monitor supports 640x480
    17-inch supports 800-x600
    19 to 20 inch supports 1024x768
I believe you would find the same issues with an older 4:3 flat-panel monitor.
Also the iMacs can only mirror the resolution set on the built-in monitor so you can't have the external one set differently nor use it for extended desktop. If you set the built-in to 640x480 (would look nice at 15 inches) you are going to get 640x480 on the external regardless of how big it is. On a 19-20 incher, 640x480 could start to look pixelated.

  • Jmx with java real time

    Hi David,
my question for now is very general.
can we use jmx with jrts???
    Gabi

    Hi Gabi,
    Some additional information:
    - JavaRTS does support the JMX protocol
    - JavaRTS supports most of the monitoring & management functionalities provided
    by HotSpot MBeans
    - some functionalities are disabled by default because they would create jitter (like
getting the stack trace of java threads). Default can be changed through the
    realtime.debug MBean)
    - JavaRTS comes with a few additional realtime specific monitoring beans.
Note that JMX relies on threads to do its work. These threads are not real-time.
Hence, if the realtime threads (including the RTGC) are consumming all the CPU,
you may not be able to call MBeans to see what is happening and take corrective actions.
    Bertrand.

  • Dual monitor setup with seperate resolutions

    hey guys!
i currentley run thye latest version of archlinux with the cinnamon desktop environment and an nvidia geforce 7300SE graphics card.
im running a dual monitor setup with one 27" 1920x1080 monitor and one 27" 1024X768 monitor
because they have the same physical size they line up perfectley but because the resolution is different programs/mouse cursor movement doesnt, is there any way (without changing the resolutions) to compensate this effect so that in the eyes of linux/cinnamon the monitors line up so that for example dragging a window goes seamlessley between the 2 monitors.
i HAVE found out the panning option in the nvidia x server settings, but that really isnt what i am looking for...

A magnifier following the window down to the pixel, zooming to the exact size of 540 pixels the 384 pixels window could create an illusion of just that. It would be highly impractical however, not mention all the hacking time. Even if you would manage to get two screen with different sized icons, so that they match visually, the windows and fonts resizing on the fly, wmctrl might help with windows alone, no their themes (buttons, borders thickness etc.), you would still be left with a visually differently sized mouse cursor. Technically such a feat should be possible, but who is going to code it? Nvidia?

  • External Monitor blurry with MacBook Pro

Good day, I have searched the forums but have not found a solution to my problem...
I recently purchased a Dell 2005FWP External Monitor and plugged it in (DVI to VGA) to my MacBook Pro. It automatically adjusted to a 800x600 resolution which of course is not ideal. The menu gives a long list of display resolutions but most of them are "not available" when I click on them. I have tried switching the docks and the monitors to the opposite sides on "Arrangement" of displays but I still don't get a different menu. I can't seem to find the menu of resolutions for the MacBook Pro either.
Please let me know what I am doing wrong...Sorry, I know I am clueless!!
    Thank you!

I have a ViewSonic VX2035wm display connected to my MacBook Pro - the image on the external monitor shows ghosting and double images like we used to see on old tube TVs.
Here is a post from MacFixIt.com that details my problem.
    http://www.macfixit.com/article.php?story=20081020231611468
Late-2008 MacBooks: Image problems on external displays with mini-DisplayPort converters
The new MacBooks and MacBook Pros come with a Mini-DisplayPort adaptor for external video, and Apple supplies various adaptors (DP to DVI, and DP to VGA) to accommodate current monitors. Some users are having difficulties with their adaptors when connected to certain monitors.
    Apple Discussions poster Ocell writes:
"I have the exact same problem with my Viewsonic VG2030wm 20" LCD. I've ruled out bad DVI cables. The Macbook Pro works with my 12" Cintiq's display, and the Viewsonic works with my Intel iMac, so the video out/mini displayport adaptor/dvi cable/viewsonic display are all operational. It's just the specific combination of the Macbook Pro and Viewsonic that doesn't work."
This problem has been found to frequently occur with DVI adaptors attached to their computers, however it has also happened with users connecting to the VGA adaptors. In these cases, unlike the DVI situation where no signal gets through, users have noticed the screen blinking or shutting off at random times. While drivers may definitely be suspect, the problem appears to be hardware-related since users have experienced the issue both in Mac OS X as well as in Windows via Boot Camp.
The DisplayPort connections used on the new MacBooks have slight differences in their protocols than other connection types, which allows for expanded functions in smaller connectors, but also can run users into difficulties, especially when older connetion types are used. While there could be software involvement in this problem, it sounds like there's most likely a firmware-related problem that hopefully can be patched by Apple, or at least be accommodated for in a driver update.
    Things to Try
Reset the monitor to defaults If there is a method for fully resetting the monitor, try doing that first. Most have a menu option to reset to factory defaults, but in addition there may be a way to fully reset the device such as unplugging it for an extended period of time. This information may be available on the manufacturer's website, or users can just try unplugging the device for an extended period such as 20-30 minutes.
Toggle various monitor setups In the "Displays" system preferences, toggle desktop mirroring on and off to see if the monitor is not just extending the desktop to the second monitor. Especially if users have black wallpaper on their desktops, secondary monitors that are just serving as extended desktops may appear to be off when connected. Alternatively users can try dragging documents off the sides of their main monitor to see if they go over to the second monitor.
Reset the computer Users might try resetting the computer's PRAM (which does contain some graphics parameters) by holding the options, command, P, and R keys down at bootup until the computer resets and makes the boot chimes again. Release the keys and allow the computer to boot normally. Additionally, users might try resetting the computer's system management controller. Here is an Apple Support article on how to do that.
Use a different monitor Unfortunately, with hardware problems such as this users will not be able to do much, so if another monitor is available that works then users should switch to that.
Try another adaptor Many monitors support both VGA and DVI inputs, and there is potential for users to get things working by using another connection type. Additionally, while it may be a long shot, users might also try chaining together various adaptors. For instance, users might try going from displayport to DVI, and then using a DVI to VGA adaptor as the next connection, to see if that somehow sends a proper signal to the monitor.

  • Secondary monitor displays with colorshift

secondary monitor displays with colorshift in LR4.1rc2. this is on windows 7/64.
Both my  monitors i have are calibrated with spyder3, one is hardwarecalibrated eizo CG243, the other a HP2475 calibrated with spyder4 elite software.
Colorshift shows same characteristics when i switch LR app window with secondary window.
IT looks as if sRGB profile is applied to the secondary preview, because of the  strong/overly saturated colors.
It seems to  me a softwarebug, which makes secondary display inusable.
How is color management supposed to work in LR4?

It works fine with me (LR4.1 RC2, but previously used RC1, LR4.0, LR3.6... all worked the same).
I have a wide-gamut HP LP2475w (approx Adobe RGB  gamut) and a Samsung193P (approx sRGB).  Both calibrated/profiled with Color Munki Display, but I've previously used Eye One and Spyder units.  After calibration/profiling, LR main and secondary display look the same in both Loupe and Develop view, and no matter which is LR's primary display.  (Obviously, colours outside sRGB gamut don't look the same!)
I've just checked, and it still seems to be the case on my set up (W7 64-bit).
I can't think what the problem might be.  I guess you've checked in Control Panel / Color Management that the correct profiles are assigned to each monitor.  And I guess that you've got a video card with dual LUTs that allows separate calibration (mind you, I've never come across any cards that don't have separate LUTs, but apparently there are some).
PS - Web view might be different, as I think LR uses IE for rendering in web view only, and IE doesn't colour-manage properly.

    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

    Hi Jam.Hall
I am somewhat hesitant to say you will be able to use this camera with LabVIEW.  It all depends on what functionality you are wanting to utilise on the camera, and how much video you want to analyze.
     - If you want to use the wireless functionality, I am concered that the on board web server will compress and embed the video stream.  I do not beleive this is something we can access in LabVIEW.
     - If you wish to use the ethernet connection, if it is Gigabit Ethernet, then you should be able to use our IMAQ for GigE driver to bring in the feed, but looking at the specs for the camera, I'm not sure that this is an option.
     - My other suggestion might be to utilise the record video stream function that the camera has.  Depending on the format of the video file, you may be able to read in the recorded file and analyse it in LabVIEW.
If you could explain the purpose of your application, and what you would like to achieve with the system, there may be more suitable products that you can use.

  • Monitoring MII with CCMSR

    Hi all,
I'd like to monitor MII with RZ20 in ABAP. But there seems to be a problem:
In SAP document "SAP xApp Manufacturing Integration and Intelligence" (https://websmp110.sap-ag.de/~sapdownload/011000358700000484242007E/SAPxMII120_SOLOP.pdf) describes chapter 3 the monitoring MII by CCMS.
In my case (with MII 12.9) CCMSR is registered and sending data to ABAP -> RZ20. But when I open visual administrator and navigate to Services --> Monitoring --> on Runtime tab page choosing "Monitor Tree" --> Root --> Applications --> SMII System Stats --> System Stats -->
I can only see on these pages the "General Info" like Name, Description. But I'm expecting here to see actual data of the MII system (last change date is not actual time but the start time when MII has been started up - hours ago). Further on I think that only if I can view data of MII here in visual administrator it is then possible to see this data in CCMS on RZ20. Am I wrong? What experiences did you make in monitoring MII with RZ20?
    Regards,
    Andreas

UDS 2.5 (not sure what the latest version is) can be downloaded from Service Marketplace.  Install it in the network where the PI Historian is located, or even on the same machine.  I recommend that you create a separate ID and password for the UDS in PI Security in PI System Management Tools (there are other ways to do this as well).
    Set the Datasource to PIUDS.DataSource.
Use the full name or even the explicit IP address when creating the connection in the UDS.
The port number is defined here for later use by MII.  Just make sure it is not used elsewhere.
Set the User ID and password.  (Default is piadmin, but unless your security folks are really slipping, it should not be used here).
Start the UDS.  It should turn yellow and stay that way.  If it does not, then I would contact OSIsoft technical support as suggested above.
    On the MII side:
Create a new Data Server of type UDC.  Give it a name.  (Connector Type will automatically be set to Tag.)
Set the IP and Port the same as you did for the UDS.
    Enable the server.  Save.
Check the Status.  It should be "Running" if all is well.
If you want it to be writable, it must be set here and I think the ID in PI also has to have those privileges (not completely sure).
    Good luck,
    Mike

  • RE: How to monitor who has what service objectconnection?

We ran into this problem, specifically because we are using a dbsession
connection pattern and the dba's did not like loosing control over
connections. We have 8 subsystem, each with a dedicated connection that
is shared across multiple users. We also have a security pattern in
place that is token based. Since we have to pass a security token
through service objects we can track this information using a
"connection array" on the service object and a system agent to poll the
contents of the array. When a sql statement is invoked on a
persistence object we add the user to the array on the persistence
manager (SO). When the sql is complete we remove the user from the
array. Since the PO has a system agent we can ask the system agent at
anytime, who has an open connection/session with the PO. Since system
agents plug into econsole, the dba can go look any time.

Here at Eli Lilly & Co., we have a customer that would like to know if
    anyone out there has successfully
devised a method to be able to tell what user has what service object
    connection. Basically, if a customer
calls the system administrator with a problem with the application, the
    system administrator would like to
be able to kill certain processes. Right now, the database connections
running on the server all look the same.
Some ideas were generated internally, one referring to setting up agents
but we'd like to see if anyone
has had success in doing this already that we could use as a contact.

I suggest that you make contact with Paolo Sidoli at DS Data (Italy). They
have written a very nice package called DORE that includes trouble shooting
utilities, that allow you to monitor what a remote user is doing (you can
    actually see their screen!).

  • Dual monitor problems with Ti4200-TD8X

I cannot put the second LCD monitor to work with the Ti4200-TD8X card. It works mirroring the main display during the boot procedure and the black windows XP loading screen. When it gets to the blue login screen the second monitor shuts off and all options on the driver menus related to extending the desktop into the second monitor just grey out.
Does anybody have some clues on this one?
    Thanks!

    Hi Guys!
why do I have the strange feeling that I'm talking to my self.... alone....
    What a nice support service!....
Anyway, let me share what I found and how I was able to make it work....
I used the DVI-I to VGA adapter supplied together with a VGA cable without pin 9 connected... According to most recent VGA specs this line could carry optionally +5 V and is considered part of the comunication protocol together with pin 12 and 15 that allows settings data to be transfered bi-directinally between Video card and moitor. BUT, to make it work I also had to resort to the 44.03 drivers version!
So, this confirms that there is a problem in the card, either at hardware level or at software level... Why does it work nicelly with the monitor connected to the VGA port and not with the seccond monitor connected with the same cable + adapter?
This only means that the protocol/connections implementation was not consistent between both ports...
MSI guys, please correct it!... and do not let us suffer alone in forum, talking to the walls... I'm disapointed... this was my first and last MSI product buy...

    Manisha das

    Hello Manisha,
The one of the possible reasons for this is due to lack of H/W.
Increase your RAM size to atleast 2GB and utilise the same while you are installing ECC in database parameters step..
If the issue is with H/W, then this should fix the issue.
    Hope it helps,
    Regards,
    Satish.
