Monitoring ME 3400 QoS.

2 questions:
We have a ME 3400 con qos configured, we'd like to monitor the bw per class, we have two ways, one using the "show policy-map interface output/input" however the output is not showing the bps rate:
Switch#show policy-map interface output
FastEthernet0/1
Service-policy output: OUT
Class-map: VO (match-any)
0 packets
Match: qos-group 1
Priority
police cir 2000000 bc 62500
conform-action transmit
exceed-action drop
conform: 0 (packets) exceed: 0 (packets)
Output Queue:
Max queue-limit default threshold: 16
Tail Packets Drop: 0
Class-map: DCO (match-any)
1414 packets
Match: qos-group 2
Traffic Shaping
Average Rate Traffic Shaping
CIR 5000000 (bps)
Output Queue:
Max queue-limit default threshold: 48
Tail Packets Drop: 0
Class-map: class-default (match-any)
3830 packets
Match: any
Output Queue:
Max queue-limit default threshold: 48
Tail Packets Drop: 0
Bandwidth 3000 (kbps)
Output Queue:
Max queue-limit default threshold: 48
Tail Packets Drop: 0
1. Is there a way to see the bps rate per class?
2. Using SNMP did not work also. Any help???
Thanks and regards

Thanks Swaroop, however i'm confused because if we look the ios version supported by the MIB we could see the versions that you mention, but if we look for the MIBs supported by the IOS that MIB is not in the list.

what is the correct information?

  • Monitor Network in QOS environment

    Hi All,
i am using L3 MPLS VPN services from a provider.
They are doing QOS, like my Voice, Data, ICMP. all traffic is classified in their network and take different paths.
Now sometime when we face voice issues, simple ICMP ping , TCP ping, will not give me insight if there are any packet losses, since Voice packets are taking someother path with in MPLS cloud due to DSCP marking of Voice pack to 46.
is there any tool in which i can change DSCP value of my packets and test out network response? or any monitoring tool that can do this by default?
i am looking for freeware at the moment or trial

Cisco's IP SLA feature set is designed for jsut this sort of thing. Depending on what platforms you are using, it may suit your needs.

  • Async WebService processed as synchronous

    Hi,
I have the following scenario on a SAP XI 7.0
    webService -> R/3 Idoc
As I don't want to use the sync/async bridge I defined the webService sender channel with QoS = Exactly Once to make it asynchronous.
The calling client (correctly) gets back an http 200 response. However, in the SAP XI monitoring I see QoS = Best Effort, processing mode = synchronous and the error message:
"The process does not support the given synchronous interface or does not support synchronous messages
    Exception CX_WAPI_DEF_PROPERTY_NOT_FOUND occurred"
    All interfaces are defined asynchronous.
    Has anybody an idea?
    Thanks, Petra

    Petra,
Have you defined an Asynch outbound interface and followed the wizard in ID to create your WSDL? Also, in Sender SOAP channel, make the setting as EO.

  • Dual Monitor on Hp Pro 3400 : can't detect the 2nd

    Hi,
I have a problem with the computer of a friend.
    Here's the plan.
He has a HP Pro 3400 with Intel HD 2000 Graphics, 2 VGA monitors, 1 VGA and 1 DVI(-D ?) output.
He has a VGA cable, a DVI cable and a DVI-to-VGA adapter.
    And here's the problem.
If he connects the VGA monitor using VGA cable : it works.
If he connects the other VGA monitor using VGA cable:  it works
    * blah * using DVI cable + adapter, works for both monitors.
... if he connects the 2 at the same time, the VGA > VGA works and the DVI > adapt > VGA can't be detected (at all).
It's not that he can't use 2 monitors, the second one just CAN'T be detected when he uses the 2 ..
Can you help me figure this out ?
    Thanks.

    Hi MikeJeffries,
I'm sorry to hear about your problem in connecting a second monitor. Here is an article, (assuming you have Windows 8), that may be of help to you: Using Two or More Monitors with One Computer (Windows 8). Let me know if this helps at all. Best of luck to you.

  • Dual Monitor video cards for HP Pro 3400

I am looking to add a 2nd monitor to my HP Pro 3400 MT and want to make sure I get a video card that will not have any compatibility issues.  I'm not doing any gaming so I don't think I need anything super fancy and I would prefer not to have to upgrade the power supply.
    So my questions are:
Is the HP Pro 3400 MT compatible witha PCI Express 3.0 card?  2.1 ?
How much power draw from the video card would require me to upgrade the power supply (my PC is stock, no added peripherals).  Is there a way for me to determine how much is being currently (no pun intended) drawn?
Are there any drawbacks to usnig the built-in video card for 1 monitor and a new, single-ouput card for the other (vs a dual-output card) ?
Anything else I need to consider when deciding on a new video card?
    Thanks.

  • Monitoring QoS Performance

I was wondering what are the recommended techniques for monitoring large scale (hundreds or thousands of links) QoS deployments.
We have deployed QoS only selectively to date but are starting large scale deployment of VoIP (thousands of handsets).
We have QPM 3.2 which we have not invested much time in as yet to really understand how it works. Would you recommend it for monitoring QoS performance or is it primarily deployment?
For really critical systems I have found IP SLA simulating calls and reporting when the call quality falls is very useful.
I was also thinking that monitoring QoS syslog may be the most effective method of monitoring hundreds of links and devices including switches, routers, vpns, firewalls etc. What facility codes would these messages come in as for switches (CatOS, IOS) and routers?

    Hi,
there was a discussion on this topic here in the Forum:

  • Migrating from SonicWALL to RRAS - questions on functionality for business network setup & monitoring

At my organization we are planning to move away from using SonicWALL and using Microsoft Server 2012 RRAS to handle IPv4 NAT routing and VPN connections for remote employees.  I am trying to plan for all the functionality I currently have in our
SonicWALL router, and I'm not familiar with the Windows equivalent for some features and/or if the available features will have all the  functionality our organization needs.  Additionally wondering if there is something better that you would recommend
in terms of ease-of-use / management from an IT standpoint.
    Feature:  Firewall
I assume that Windows Advanced Firewall can handle all the firewall settings that I would normally find in an enterprise router.  Is this a correct assumption?
    Feature:  Content blocking
What Microsoft technology would I use for blocking certain content and websites from being viewed in the workplace network?  Can Windows Firewall handle these two types of content blocking?:
Blocking websites by general content - i.e. block porn sites.
    Blocking websites by specific URL
    Feature:  Network activity monitoring
In cases where the network is slow, what would I use to inspect what IP/MAC is hogging bandwidth?  Currently on SonicWALL we are able to see which computer is hogging bandwidth, see what website is, how much bandwidth it is consuming.  Can RRAS
handle this level of detail, or is SCOM / some other technology more well-suited?  Should we use a non-Microsoft application (something like Wireshark) instead?
Feature: Network prioritization (QoS / bandwidth management)
Can we set certain network groups to have priority over others?  For example, if we split our incoming network into two networks using RRAS, 192.168.50.x for data and 10.0.50.x for VOIP, I want the VOIP network to get priority in order to
ensure quality audio on all phone calls.  I assume this is available in RRAS.
Basically I'm just looking to see what systems I need set up to satisfy these business needs.  If anyone has any real-world experience let me know what your setup is like -- I'm curious to know!

"I assume that Windows Advanced Firewall can handle all the firewall settings that I would normally find in an enterprise router.  Is this a correct assumption?"
Your statement as it stands is correct.  In fact, Windows firewall will handle more firewall settings than those found in a
router.  However, SonicWall is not just a router - it's a firewall.  There is a big difference. Given that you are comparing Windows Firewall to a robust firewall, I agree with Dennis that you should either stay with SonicWall or
look at Microsoft's product.  But, given that on the link Dennis provided, you will find that Microsoft is discontinuing UAG, you might want to stick with what you know - SonicWall.  Or, you need to evaluate your needs more.  Yes, Microsoft
provides a number of built-in capabilities that may address your particular needs.  We can't answer that.  But, if there are features you need that are not available via Windows Server, then it is best to get a product that addresses those needs.

  • Need help with QoS config/setup for my home network.

I have a home network that spans two buildings, has and FTP download server, VoIP phones, and several computers among other IP devices.  I run a home based business where my clients get access to the company FTP download server (NOT illegal file sharing).  the problem is that when they are downloading files my VoIP takes a big hit and gets choppy when speaking to my customers.  Below is  the layout of the network.
Our Internet access is Verizon 4G, there are no other options available at this time or we would switch.  The Verizon 4G MiFi connects to a TP-Link wifi router that then connects to port fa0/5 on the Office 3550PoE switch.  There is a trunk between the Office switch to the House 3550PoE switch.  The House switch then connects to the Shop 3524XL switch also using a trunk.  Please note that EVERYTHING works fine other than the VoIP issue, VoIP makes and receives calls without connections issues.
Auto QoS has been run on the Office switch ports fa0/1 and fa0/2 as well as on the House switch ports fa0/3 and fa0/5.  There is NO auto QoS on the 3524XL
What is the best way to give VoIP traffic top priority over FTP and web browsing when going out port fa0/5 on the Office Switch?  Over the internal network we are not having any call quality issues between the IP phones, just calls to our SIP provider.  Yes, I understand that once calls exit the Office switch to the TP-Link wifi router there will not be any QoS.  But, if I can give priority to the packets at the layer 3 Office switch (or wherever you suggest) then at least I will not have to kill a users FTP download while I am on the phone.
    Thank You

I can make ANY changes necessary, just need to know what to do.
First, did you notice the output of the command  sh mls qos fa0/5 above?  Is it working correctly?

    Hi,
QOS implementation has radically changed since the advent of
    sup-7 & later
You no longer set mls qos as qos is on the engine by default.
    Please see the following links
    http://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/products/collateral/switches/catalyst-4500-series-switches/white_paper_c11-539588.html
    "Ingress QoS: Default Actions
First and foremost, QoS does not need to be enabled on the Supervisor Engine, it is on by default in compliance with the MQC construct.
When a packet arrives at an interface, there are two options to take into consideration: is there a policy attached or not? If the packet arrives with or without a marking and there is not a policy attached to the interface, packets will flow through the switch untouched. There are no questions as to where the packet came from or if it has a valid marking. If the packet arrives with or without a marking, and a policy is attached to the interface, the packet will only then be subject to the policy classification."
    And the config guide
    http://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/td/docs/switches/lan/catalyst4500/15-1/XE_330SG/configuration/guide/config/qos_mrg.html#wp1461453
    Hope this helps

  • Messages on Holding at Message Monitoring under Runtime Workbench

    Hello Colleagues,
we have currently the problem that a lot of messages for some interfaces are in status Holding under Message Monitoring at Runtime Workbench for PI 7.1.
I'm not able to resend the messages with status Holding as well as change status to cancel.
Quality of Service for the Interfaces are Exactly Once in Order.
I assume an error message blocks the queue and due to the fact we have Exactly Once in Order configured all following messages be in status Holding.
    Is my assumption right?
But, I am not abel to find any messages in status error with blocks the queue!
How can I solve that issue?
    Many thanks in advance!
    Jochen

I assume an error message blocks the queue and due to the fact we have Exactly Once in Order
configured all following messages be in status Holding.
AE should have least number of EOIO messages at a given instance...otherwise Holding is what you get.....and holding is common with EOIO....so see if you can chagne the QoS of some messages to EO
But, I am not abel to find any messages in status error with blocks the queue!
Never you will get an error in SXMB_MONI....or the queue blocked....
When your message goes out of IE...the corresposding message entry is marked with chequered flag...observe in MONI you will see this....however in AE the message can fail if not able to send to the target system....
For some more understanding refer my answer in this thread:
    Re: Restarting Error's in SXMB_MONI

  • Wrong port in FTP receiver adapter - no errors in message monitoring?

    Hello all
We're on XI 3.0 SP16 and have created / configured a HTTP XML -> XI -> FTP Server scenario. In the receiver comm. channel (ftp) we had specified a wrong port number and always wondered, why we never got errors in message monitoring. Everything seemed to be processed correctly... but no file arrived on the FTP server (receiver) side!
After correcting the wrong FTP port number in the receiver FTP comm. channel everything went fine.
We now encountered a similar problem with a RFC receiver adapter. We're using it in another scenario HTTP XML -> XI -> RFC to SAP R/3 (4.7).
For some reason it died (red status in adapter monitor) and it was no more possible to do RFC calls from XI to SAP R/3 (normal RFC adapter, NO proxies).
In XI message monitor everything seemed to be ok but no message arrived till SAP R/3. Nothing in any queue...
After deactivating and reactivation the RFC receiver comm. channel it worked again BUT ALL PREVIOUSLY SENT messages seem to be lost.
Is it really the way it works? Does XI integration engine at runtime NOT catch whether or not a RFC or FTP receiver adapter died, thus is not able to tell somewhere in message monitor that a message could not be delivered at all?
I'm really confused here but hopefully I simply don't understand some easy principles to take into account...
Our SAP R/3 is on rel. 4.70 with Web AS 6.20. The XI 3.0 plugin is not installed. Do we need to go with server proxies there and use QOS = best effort?!?
    Thanks for some suggestions.
    Best regards,
    Renaud

    Hi Michal
Thanks... works great for normal XML based messages!
Now, what if I wanted to pass binary files from one ftp server via BPM to another ftp server in order to enable the transport acknowledgment?
The files polled from ftp server using the ftp sender adapter are all in binary format (ARJ). No xml data in there. How should the message format look like in BPM for the receiving step? Or: how to make sure not to loose the binary content when passing through BPMs?
I need this sort of scenario because of the tansport acknowledgment and because I need to have some sort of message splitting (send the binary file over to a second ftp server and additionally send some kind of info message to SAP R/3 regarding thin binary file).
BTW: in the MessagingSystem/monitor/monitor.jsp I do not see sender / receiver information. Is this normal? It's quite of a bad thing to look inside each message in order to find out what message I'm having in front of me...
Thanks a lot for your support and patience!
    Kind regards,
    Renaud

  • Advance selection for source file-Error in communication channel monitoring

    Hi all,
    Referring to the link below:
    <b>/people/mickael.huchet/blog/2006/09/18/xipi-how-to-exclude-files-in-a-sender-file-adapter
I have developed my scenario in the same way.But due to the values <b><NOTHING></b>
in Mandatory fields Source Directory and Filename,i am facing problem in Communication Channel Monitoring as it shows an error;even though the end-to-end scenario works successfully.
Plase note that  our scenario is not to exclude the particular file but to pick the files serially after a certain delay.
Kindly provide some idea about how can we remove the error from Communication Channel Monitoring.
    Thanks & Regards,
    Sudhir Tiwari

    Sudhir,
In the sender file adapter, you have an option called <b>"Processing Sequence"</b>.
By selecting ByName or ByDate you can make files get selected sequentially either ByName ( alphabetically ) or by the creation time stamp of the file.
In the sender file adapter also make the QOS as EOIO and give the QueueName as any value and the files will be processed sequentially.
    Regards
    Bhavesh

  • How do you set up priority queueing on a 3400 metro switch?

running IOS 12.2(40)SE. This seem to do strict priority queueing only which means that that queue will be serviced until it is emptied, then other queues will be serviced.
We will be pumping lots of voice calls through a few of these 3400s on a metro fiber ring and I need to apply the appriopriate QOS for voice. I'm familiar with LLQ in the router world and autoqos in the 3750/3650 switch world, but not with this switch.
Is there a white paper that speaks directly to VoIP on the 3400? The QOS section of the config guide doesn't help when looking for config examples for voice except to state that voice can be mapped to the priority queue, but it is not LLQ based.
I don't want to police voice because the potential of dropped packets could affect all calls, but I need to make sure that voice traffic gets priority over all else - without starving out the other traffic.

I understand that - and thank you for responding. However I am extremely leary of policing voice traffic because any dropped packets will affect voice conversation.
Maybe I should set up a policer that is much larger than the total amount of voice traffic I ever expect to have on the link. Say I'll have a possible 100 G-711 calls at any given time. In the LLQ world I'd carve out a priority queue of 10meg to insure all those calls get prioritized. In the 3400 world should I police say at 12meg?
What I'm not clear on is the concept of strict priority queueing - that that queue will be serviced at the expense of all other queues whenever there is traffic in it. Would I expect there always to be voice traffic in the queue if the link is a gig link, and 10mb of voice traffic is going through that queue constantly? Or will the gig interface pull those packets out of the queue so fast that all other non-priority traffic will get transmitted from the other queues just fine?
