Does Cisco Prime Infrastructure supports monitoring CPU,Memory, HDD for UCS , VMWare?

Prime Infrastructure/ Assurance is  positioned today more towards managing network elements and network performance,  rather than server infrastructure. We are in the process of adding Datacenter  component support, with more focus on Nexus and UCS- due later this  year.
Having said that, Prime Infrastructure allows the system user to  add custom SNMP polling templates, which can then be used for polling any SNMP  based values from any SNMP enabled device. These can be used to collect the  information you specified below and the polled information will be available in  dashboards and reports.

  • SRW2024 CPU, Memory, Backplane Utilization.

    Hi,
I'm trying to monitor my SRW2024 switches through the Opmanager Network Monitor Solution but unfortunately this solution doesn't have predifined monitors for Linksys Switches. I contacted them to help me out and they told me than i need to contact Linksys to give me the MIBs or OIDs.
I searched the the internet for these but nothing. I even downloaded a Walk SNMP agent and OID viewer but i havent managed to pint point the MIBs or OIDs.
Can you please help me on this.

Contact Cisco Small Business Support and ask if they can provide you with MIBs for your SRW.

  • Cpu , memory , temperature oid "quick and short way "

    Hi all,
i am looking to find out quick way to find oid value for cpu , memory etc for ISR (3800 , 2800) , 7200 etc
however searching "cpu" snmp object navigator search box  is displaying  about  400 results  which  is not a  convienent way to find out.
1 ) do the oid value for measuring one , 5 min and 5 sec cpu differers platform to platorm ?   Are  their any  specific OID values  that i can use to find cpu (one min , or 5 minutes )  for  IOS routers ?
as i have tranlated standard " cpmCPUTotal1minRev " into oid value and tired to use it with EEM snmp oid event detector
    and got the following debug
It give me error on 7200
    *Mar 5 00:56:20.895: fh_fd_snmp_oid_val_fetch: storing OID value
*Mar 5 00:56:20.895: snmp_entry_value_check: OID unavailable, value check skipped
    2) is their any way to search oid values on the box it self by a show command ...

119º F is excellent, the RAM helped as it's not swaping memory to the hard drive as much as before.
I upped mine to 16GB, really sweet to not have to worry until I run more than three operating systems at once

  • RTMT CPU + Memory counters not showing

I just added a new subscriber to a cluster and the only issue I have is that RTMT is not showing the CPU + Memory stats for the new box.
It is showing disk usage and other statistics however.
    Anyone else had this issue?

i see this at times and it fixes itself when you restart RTMT provided you dont get any AMC error or server unreachable errors when you log into RTMT.

  • Settings for monitoring Solaris CPU and memory using ATS serverstats

    Hi,
I need to set up some monitors for a Solaris 10 server (hosting Web server for Application Under test) using OLT. Can someone please advise as to what set up I will need to access the Solaris CPU/Memory/vmstat data during the performance tests?
Do I need to install something on the server side? What user priviledge will I need to access this monitor on the Server and what ports should I open?
    Regards

    Hello
Nothing to install. It's completely remote using ssh or telnet. (so standard ports to consider).
You need to setup what we call a "virtual agent".
Create a "monitor" using "Virtual Agent" as a data source.
Then you need to setup your remote system and particularly to configure the prompt returned when logging in with the given user (try manually with plink first).
Then you can try predefined metrics which are not so good in my opinion. So better to create your own metrics. (find the proper unix command line to retrieve the information needed and use regular expression to get the value out of the output.
Pls first, you should update plink.exe in the c:\oracleats dir (don't remember where) by downloading a newer version on internet.
I'm sure it's not all clear, but with the documentation, google & some effort, you should find the solution.
    Cheers

  • ISE dashboard - CPU, memory - data not available for PSN

    Hi All,
Has anyone seen the ISE dashboard not showing stats for CPU memory for PSN's ?  Admin node cpu and memory displays ok.
How is this data shared between the nodes ?
I did have some firewall issues between admin and PSN but this is now solved.  I did note the same issue even when nodes were on same L2 network.

Confirmed this issue was caused by syslog dropped by firewall.  Symptoms included dashboard wasn't updating for that node, and also no auth logs getting back to monitoring node.
ASA was permitting UDP 514 (syslog) but not UDP 20514.
I'm a bit confused on UDP 30514. In the guide it also says 30514 is syslog in one spot, and radius in another.

  • OID for CPU and MEMORY utilization for wrv4400n

    Hi,
Can any one please tell me the OID for CPU and MEMORY utilization for wrv4400n?
    Thanks
    Vipin

CISCO-SYSTEM-EXT-MIB.my is a good place to start and you can determine the OID from the MIB.
Once you feel as though you are on the right track, have a look at:
    http://www.oidview.com/mibs/9/CISCO-SYSTEM-EXT-MIB.html
I gather that what you need is:
    1.3.6.1.4.1.9.9.305.1.1.1
    and
    1.3.6.1.4.1.9.9.305.1.1.2
    Enjoy.

  • How to find out CPU and memory usage for an instance?

    Hi DBA Gurus,
How to find out CPU usage and memory usage for an instance?
    Any information is appreciated!
    Thank you!
    Robert

you can calculate cpu usage by adding fallowing three factors which you can get from v$sysstat
    1. Parse CPU time : This represents the percentage of CPU time spent parsing SQL statements. Parse time CPU can be a strong indication that an application has not been well tuned. High parse time CPU usually indicates that the application may be spending too much time opening and closing cursors or is not using bind variables.
    2. Recursive CPU time : Sometimes, to execute a SQL statement issued by a user, the Oracle Server must issue additional statements. Such statements are called recursive calls or recursive SQL statements. For example, if you insert a row into a table that does not have enough space to hold that row, the Oracle Server makes recursive calls to allocate the space dynamically if dictionary managed tablespaces are being used.
Recursive calls are also generated due to the inavailability of dictionary info in the dictionary cache, firing of database triggers, execution of DDL, execution of SQL within PL/SQL blocks, functions or stored procedures and enforcement of referential integrity constraints
    3. Other CPU time : This represents the percentage of time spent looking for buffers, fetching rows or index keys, etc. Generally, \"Other\" CPU should represent the highest percentage of CPU time out of the total CPU time used.
total memory used you can calculate adding
    total_agrigate_area+sga
memory usage on os level you can know by fallowing commands
vmstat 5 20 depending upon os

  • Alerts for CPU,Memory Utilizations

    Hi all,
In the last few weeks we have been encountering,  Server Re-starts due to  memory Shoots ups.
We are planning to have alerts for CPU, memory utlizations.
These would be triggered before a Standard Threshold is reached.  This would avoid issues after threshold in production environment.
Are there any pointers, blogs etc available on how to achieve the same.
    Thanks in advance,
    Best regards
    Abhishek

Basic alert funtionality of XI won't help. You must have CCMS configured in your landscape. It could be then used to raise alert for such issues. Have a look here

  • Operating temperatures for cpu/memory

This may be much ado about nothing.  Had recently upgraded hard drive on my Early 2011 MacBook Pro 13" and the fan ran nearly all the time.  So I looked around for notebook coolers for one solution.  I had also ordered a memory upgrade to 8gb from the stock 4gb.  The new drive is a Hitachi 500gb 7200rpm 2" drive w/32mg cache.  I've read others before say various 7200rpm drives sometimes ran hotter and caused increased fan activity, so in a way wasnt surprised.
So, next thing I did was buy an app from the Mac App Store called Temperature Gauge.  It's a nice little utility and shows temps for many components like cpu, memory, battery, and others.  My fan was running around 4600rpm and very loud most of the time with the new drive.  That is until I upgraded memory to the 8gb.  Now the fan speed has dropped from around 4600rpm to 2000rpm and is back to its original silent operation.
The util sets threshholds for component temps and in particular I was curious if anyone knew what the operating range of temps should my cpu or memory be within?  Is there any way to find out for ex. if the cpu is at 119 degrees Fahrenheit is that within normal specs?

119º F is excellent, the RAM helped as it's not swaping memory to the hard drive as much as before.
I upped mine to 16GB, really sweet to not have to worry until I run more than three operating systems at once

  • Detailed monitor specs required for lenovo 300 g410

I've got a Lenovo 300 G410, and I need the monitor specificiations, namely the ranges for the horizontal sync frequency and vertical refresh rate.
On a different note, is the Intel Celeron a 32-bit or 64-bit processor?

I doubt anyone can offer this information on LCD to you, because this must be made bu special diagnose laboratories. Only Lenovo can offer such information.
Regarding Celeron - yes, in G410 all Celerons are 64-bit-capable due to  the fact that modern Celerons (4xx and 5xx series) are simply half-cutted Core 2 Duo with lower bus frequency and cache size. They're still powerfull enough to handle large range of tasks.

  • Cisco recommendations for CPU, Memory, Buffers

Hi, I am trying to define SNMP threholds within our customers network.
Unfortunately, the hardware in the estate covers everything from 6500s, 7204s to 837's. I've been searching within Cisco website for CPU/Memory/Buffer recommendations but while I've found lots of useful information not exactly what I am looking for.
I realise that the services, routing protocols, importance of each device will have a bearing on my thresholds but even if I had a starting point with a Cisco minimum recommendation document, it would help me.
Can anyone point me in the right direction?
    Regards
    Mary O Driscoll

You are correct that coming up with hard numbers really depends on the platform, traffic load, features, etc.  In general, CPU at 70% would be a minor alert, 80% a major alert, 90% a critical alert.  With buffers, at 65% (in use) is a minor alert, 70% is a major alert, and 75% is a critical alert (this data is actually used by the Embedded Resource Manager to do buffer memory reclamation in 12.4(6)T and higher).  With memory, 30% free is a minor alert, 25% is a major alert, and 15% is a critical alert.
As for a document for this, I don't know of one.  These kind of general numbers are either used within IOS itself, or by our Device Fault Manager application to provide default thresholds.

  • When I am in e-mail. I get the spinning color wheel. Then, when I check the activity montior, it notes high cpu usage (99%) for "Safari web content.". then I quit this process and cpu usage drops way done. but I have to log in again to my e-mail. what can

When I am in e-mail, I sometimes get the spinning color wheel, which lock up everything. when it doesn't go away, I see on the activity monitor, that CPU usage is very high (99%), for a process calles " Safari web content'. When I click on the proccess and quite, the CPUusage goes way down. Problem is that I have to then log back in to e-mail. What can I do to eliminate this proble.  thanks

How much FREE RAM do you have when this occurs. It's easy to tell, when it beach balls open Activity Monitor (Applications - Utilities - Activity Monitor) click the System Memory tab and note how much FREE RAM is listed. If it's 500MB or less it's time for a RAM upgrade.
