Monitoring of  existence of  generic filenames

With CCMS agents, one could monitor the existence of a file (testfile) using the LOGFILE_TEMPLATE
DIRECTORY="....."
FILENAME="testfile"
CHECK_EXISTENCE_ONLY=1
Can this work for monitoring the existence of generic files such as
FILENAME="testfile*"
CHECK_EXISTENCE_ONLY=1
I try to do this, but the MTE is not shown under CCMS - RZ20.

  • Monitoring Oracle Glassfish or Generic URL with Oracle Grid Control

How are people monitoring Oracle Glassfish with Oracle Grid Control?
I really just need to monitor the URL right now, is the only method to setup a system and monitor a generic web test with a beacon?

I would think this is indeed the only way to monitor the URL.
Perhaps you could try a solution in creating your own plug-in.
    Check http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/oem/extensions/index.html for this.

  • IDOC Monitoring WE06 - RSEIDOCA

    Hi Guys,
We want to monitos IDOCs for error in our ERP system. I have tried to use WE06 but I am not getting any notification apart from just "ALARM Message from Active IDoc Monitoring" which is very generic and doesnt give any details. Could someone please help in this regard? I am not sure how to setup correct  tasks to this report
    Thanks,
    SK

Santosh, report RSEIDOCA is triggering a very specific single task workflow TS74508518   you need to make sure to have defined it as general task (either via SWU3 features or directly at the task level)
There is a OSS note specifically referring to this pre-requisite.

  • Why T430 connect with monitor through VGA can only have 60 fps refreash rate?

    I have a T430 and T420.
When I connect the T420 with monitor through VGA, the refreash rate of the monitor can be 75 fps in 1600*900. But When I connect the T430 with the same monitor through VGA, the refresh rate can only be 60 fps, no 75 fps option in the list, Anybody has idea why it works like this?
    Thanks very much.

Actually, on second thought, does the external monitor show up as "Generic PnP monitor" in Device Manager? Or does it show up as the correct model number?

  • How to Configure SNMP Counter Monitors

    Hi there,
I want to receive a SNMP trap if attributes of the SNMP Agent (JMX
MBeans) change in WLS 6.1. I'm playing around with the PetStore
example that is part of the package. I enabled SNMP and configured
localhost as a TrapHost, great ! Now I want to configure a couple of
Counter and Attribute Monitors. What do I put for
    Monitored MBean Type
    Monitored MBean Name
    Monitored Attribute Name
if I want to monitor e.g.
    ejbEntityHomeRuntimeTransactionsCommittedTotalCount Attribute in the
    EJBEntityHomeRuntime Table ??
I have trouble getting it working,
    thanks for any help,
    Alex
Bonus question: Do I need to do this always with the Admin Console or
can I edit the config.xml file myself ?

well, here is the way you can set up a SNMP String Monitor for monitoring
the changes to the FileName attribute in the LogMBean:
    Monitored MBean Type - Log
    Monitored MBean Name - myserver
    Monitored Attribute Name - FileName
The easiest way to figure these attributes is with the help of the
JavaDocs for MBeans. Please verify the data type that the method returing
attribute that you are trying to monitor with the type of the monitor you
    are trying to set.
ie, you cannot setup a String monitor for a boolean attribute in the
mbean. In the case above, the getFileName method returns a String object,
so it makes sense to set a String monitor for it!
You can setup your monitor for EJBEntityHomeRuntime in a similar fashion!
Its not necessary to specify the complete ObjectName in the
MonitoredMBeanName. as the WLS constructs it automatically from the the
Name, Type and the target to which you target this trap monitor.
    Hope this helps,
    Mihir

  • Capture the filename with ODI

Please find the query below. This has to be done exclusively in ODI only no shell scripts to get the file name.
    Input file name : abc_<timestamp>.txt.
Now need to read the file and capture the filename.
Read the file and move it to Archive or Error Directories based on the output
How can we achieve this with in ODI?
Please let me know your inputs as early as possible.
    Thanks in Advance.

    Yes, it's possible.
For capturing filename you should use procedure using jython/beanshell
if the file is a source then you can use interfaces
Use the ---> for OK sucess and KO error
Use ODIFileMove utility to move the file
In order to do all these you should have understanding of using variables, models and interfaces.
For my part i have done a procedure which can monitor a directory and capture filenames as soon as file arrives , then invoke scenarios passing the filenames through variables.

  • Generic

    HP desktop, Windows 8
    Dual monitors, both W2072a
    Issues:
display is only seeing Generic non-pnp display
display is fuzzy (not my eyesight), fuzzy as in fonts are not crisp and sharp
dual monitors worked for a day but now can not setup again
Everything worked a week ago. Hard drive had to be wiped clean and rebuilt. Starting from scratch. No cables or monitors were changed.
    Have done the following:
    Updated the driver
Used the HP support drivers to update
Used the AMD Vision Control Engine center to update
    Changed the settings to 1600 x 900, 1600 x 1200, 1280 x 1024
    Need:
Solution to have the monitors recognized, not the generics
Solution to have the display show in clear, crisp display
Solution to have the dual monitors working (not one thing has been changed, not the cables, not a new monitor, nothing).
Solution to have the dual monitors extend to be one large desktop, not two montitors with same image/taskbar/etc

    Hey z23hitman,
I'm sorry I know it has been a while since you posted this issue, but I saw it and wanted to provide some advice, if I could (just in case you're still having the issue or if someone else may be).
I've had this issue before myself on my personal computer. When the text is fuzzy, it is called underscanning/overscanning. Here's a link for more information on that. Check out the picture attached for an example to compare yours to. View the picture on your notebook's internal monitor to really see what I'm referring to. If you look carefully, you'll probably also notice a black border around the screen, which of course is not normal and will be corrected by changing the scaling options (See 2.)
    1. Here is the direct link for the monitors' drivers. That should cause them to be recognized in Device Manager.
    2. a. & 3.  I know you mentioned you got the drivers from the HP support site, but I would like to make sure you got the latest video driver because if you have the latest driver, your monitors should be automatically detected. If you could provide me with your product number, I could give you a direct link to the latest video driver for your particular computer. Here are the steps to get your product number.
         b. There are a few steps to troubleshoot this issue. First try the steps in this document. Scroll down to the section called "Changing scaling options with ATI Catalyst Control Center", expand it and follow the steps.
    4. To extend the displays
    Right click on the desktop
    Click Screen Resolution
Set Multiple displays to Extend these displays
Let me know what the results are and please let me know if you have any questions! I'll keep an eye out for your reply!

  • Cannot change laptop monitor resolution the normal (?) way

Hi folks, I'm trying to get a resolution other than 800x600 working. I read that you just had to write this resolution in on the leftmost side of the appropriate line on the config file, and I did, but it isn't working. I'm using fluxbox, and so I don't have any GUI tools for setting the resolution, but changing the resolution by GUI tool didn't work in GNOME anyhow. I tried a number of different horizontal/vertical sync rates, although maybe I haven't tried the right one.
Here is some possibly useful information:
    Arch 0.6
    Kernel 2.6.3
    Intel 852GM card

And a bit of my config file:

  • Monitor Color Profile Coming In With Windows Update

I recently had to revisit the color-management logic in my software, owing to a monitor profile showing up and being installed on users' machines through Windows Update.
Specifically, for some reason a VMware virtual machine running 32 bit Windows 7 is now considered to have an Acer monitor, rather than a "Generic Plug n Play Monitor" (which actually made more sense).
This is the specific Windows Update that brought it in:
Beyond the obvious problem (of a virtual machine not actually having a physical monitor, certainly not an Acer S271HL in this case), this Windows Update is installed with virtually no fanfare.  Though as a rule I set my own systems to notify me but not install updates, and I do actually read about the updates Microsoft is proposing installing on my system, most folks don't - they simply allow Windows Update to do its thing without much thought.
This particular monitor profile wasn't bad per se, but it did have an attribute that I didn't anticipate in my color-management implementation.  Photoshop seemed to deal with it okay - in this case it was just my plug-ins that didn't (all fixed now).  But sometimes we see monitor profiles that aren't okay pushed on users, and they throw Photoshop and other color-managed applications off unexpectedly for users.  This profile was set active, overriding the Windows default that was previously set.  Would it have overridden a profile (e.g., made with a calibrator/profiler) that had been explicitly set on a system?  Not sure.  But if so that would have been bad!
Does it seem that Microsoft may be trying to become more aggressive about pushing color-management out to users?  If that's the case, wouldn't you think they should fully implement color-management in their own software - e.g., in their browsers?  Conveniently, Internet Explorer wasn't affected by this update, because it ignores monitor profiles.
Please excuse my little rant to let off a little frustration over unexpected system changes.  Thanks for reading.
    -Noel

No, actually the System Default stayed the same, but the ACER profile showed up in the Devices panel.  However, [ ] Use My Settings was NOT checked, implying they found some way to install the profile that's outside the normal configuration settings somewhere between the Advanced and Devices level configuration.
The fix is to check the [ ] Use My Settings box, add the profile one wants to use in the Devices panel, and [Set as Default Profile].  This overrides the setting above.

I have to install Oracle Server 8.1.7 (Release 3) under Win2000 Server. But I couldn't start the install.exe (setup.exe). Nothing happens.
But in readme documents it should be possible to install this version under Win2000 Server.
Could somebody help me. What do I need??
By the way, the CD is ok, they started normally under Win2000.
    Thank you
    Dana

Subject: ALERT: Oracle Installer 8.1.X Hangs on Machines with Pentium 4 Processors
    Type: ALERT
    Status: PUBLISHED
    Content Type: TEXT/PLAIN
    Creation Date: 02-JAN-2001
    Last Revision Date: 01-MAY-2003
Oracle Universal Installer (OUI) for RDBMS 8.1.x Hangs on Machines with Pentium 4 Processors ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Versions Affected ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Oracle Universal Installer version 1.7.1.9.0 and earlier versions (bundled with products in 8.1.X CD packs). Platforms Affected ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Any platform that uses the Intel Pentium 4 processor with Sun JRE and Symantec JIT will encounter this problem. Windows NT, Windows 2000, Windows 98 and NetWare operating systems are confirmed to be affected. Description ~~~~~~~~~~~ The Oracle Universal Installer hangs when installing Oracle 8.1.x Server and Client products on machines that use Sun JRE and Symantec JIT. Likelihood of Occurrence ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Any Oracle Universal Installer 1.7.1.9.0 and earlier installation on a platform that uses the Intel Pentium 4 processor, with the Sun JRE and Symantec Just in Time Library (JIT) will encounter this problem. Possible Symptoms ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ The failure is manifested in these ways: - The affected application simply terminates. - The installer hangs, quits, dies or disappears. - The hourglass appears, disappears and nothing else happens. Fix ~~~ 1. Obtain the OUI application (~15.3MBs) under patch number 1507768 in Metalink: a. Click Patches button b. Enter 1507768 in the Patch Number field c. Click Submit d. Download the patch 2. Unzip the patch to a temporary directory. 3. Uncompress the resulting Jar file (~20MBs). 4. Navigate to the following subdirectory under the temporary directory where the patch was unzipped and rename symcjit.dll cd <temporary_directory>\Disk1\stage\Components\oracle.swd.jre\1.1.7.30\1\DataFiles\Expanded\jre\win32\bin Rename symcjit.dll to symcjit.dll.old 5. Navigate to: cd\Disk1\install\win32 6. Run the setup.exe program from the current directory and install the OUI to your hard disk. 7. Use/Invoke this installed OUI from Start menu > Programs, to install Oracle 8.1.x and related products. Workarounds ~~~~~~~~~~~ Workaround 1: 1. Create a temporary directory on your server. 2. Copy the entire contents of the Oracle RDBMS Server CD to the temporary directory created in step 1. 3. Search the directory structure created in Step 1 for the existence of the filename symcjit.dll. 4. Rename each copy of the symcjit.dll to symcjit.old. 5. Run the setup.exe from the install\win32 directory (under the directory on your hard disk used in Step 1) and install Oracle 8.1.x and related products. Workaround 2: If you continue to experience any of the symptoms after performing Workaround 1, follow these steps: 1. Copy the contents of the \install directory on your CD-ROM to a temporary directory on your hard disk. 2. Search for all copies of the 'symcjit.dll' file both in and under the directory from Step 1, and rename them to 'symcjit.old'. 3. Navigate to the directory you created in Step 1, and open the 'oraparam.ini' file for editing. Please note this file is write-protected, and the properties of the file must be changed to allow writing before editing. 4. Change the JRE_MEMORY_OPTIONS parameter to JRE_MEMORY_OPTIONS=-nojit -ms64m -mx128m 5. Save the oraparam.ini file. 6. Navigate to the win32 subdirectory, under the directory you usedin Step 1, and run the setup.exe program. If you have tried Workarounds 1 and 2 and still experience problems, please do the following: Workaround 3: 1. Navigate to: Start> Settings > Control Panel > System 2. Select the "Advanced" tab 3. Click the "Environment Variables" button 4. Highlight the PATH entry and click "Edit..." 5. Copy down the current PATH setting. 6. Remove any entries that refer to previous JRE directories Note: Care should be taken when editing the system path. Incorrect edits can prevent Windows or other applications from starting properly. 7. If any entries were removed, repeat Workaround 1 or 2. Patches ~~~~~~~ Patch 1507768 is available on Metalink, and should be installed using the Fix section of this article. • Oracle 8.1.7. client and 2000 Pro SP3

Has anyone experienced any problems using/installing 8.1.7 client on a workstation running 2000 pro with service pack 3 installed? It seems that everytime I try to install on a workstation with SP3 the installation refuses to start. Any ideas?

This is a known problem with Pentium 4 processors. Here's one workaround that should solve your problem.
    1. Create a temporary directory on the client.
    2. Copy the entire contents of the Oracle CD to the temporary directory created in step 1.
    3. Search the directory structure created in Step 1 for the existence of the filename symcjit.dll.
    4. Rename each copy of the symcjit.dll to symcjit.old.
    5. Run the setup.exe from the \install\win32 directory and install Oracle 8.1.x and related products.

  • Problem with oracle 8i installation on windows 2000 pro

    Hi all
i'm installing oracle 8i enterprize edition on windows 2000 professional.
At the end of the installation,in the configuration tools step when it says that
the following tools will be automatically started for you etc...

< 8I\starterdb is an invalid command line argument. >
what should i do? anyone familiar with this problem ?
    Constancio

This should be a workaround for your problem. Let me know if it works or not.
    1. Create a temporary directory on your server.
    2. Copy the contents of the Oracle RDBMS Server CD to the temporary directory created in step 1.
    3. Search the directory structure created in step 1 for the existence of the filename symcjit.dll.
    4. Rename each copy of the symcjit.dll to symcjit.old.
    5. Run the setup.exe from the \install\win32 directory and install Oracle 8.1.x.

I tried changing driver as described above, and changing some options on Device section...
If anyone has a intel915GM working fine, please, give-me some light...
    Thanks..

    Hey,
I've had similar problems with an intel 950 card.
What worked for me is using the 'xf86-video-intel' package, thus using the 'intel' driver
    and not 'i810'.
Plus - I recreated the xorg.conf file using 'hwd -xa', which gave me the best performance (have a look at the Xorg configuration wiki,
    its explained there).
    These are my current rates:
    5048 frames in 5.0 seconds = 1009.550 FPS
    5037 frames in 5.0 seconds = 1007.200 FPS
    5076 frames in 5.0 seconds = 1015.112 FPS
And this is my xorg.conf for you to compare (though, again, you should use hwd -xa):
