Monitoring of RFC

Hi,
I have a very simple question but I have forgotten how to do this.
I try to call a BAPI via XI. Where in the XI environment can I monitor or check, which RFC call got to the XI system and why error occurs.
Thanks for your assistance.
Regards
Florian

Hi,
Does the message reach XI..? (Did u configure your RFC Sender Adapter Properly..?)
Check the blog by Michal for RFC Sender Adapter Configuration.
/people/michal.krawczyk2/blog/2005/03/29/configuring-the-sender-rfc-adapter--step-by-step
After the message reaches XI, u will be able to see in sxmb_moni. Also let me know
1) if u find any details in RWB (for RFC Sender adapter) after u trigger ur Program.
2) if the message reaches XI..?
Cheers,
Siva Maranani.

  • R/3 database monitoring through RFC

I have code which monitor database.
There are two servers, one is XID and other is ECD. Messages are flowing from ECD to XID.
Code is uploaded in XID server .Code monitor XID database .code hits Standard Sap table i.e. SXMSPMAST, check entries and send alert as per condition.
ECD server requires to monitor ECD database by using same code existing in XID.
ECD server wonu2019t allow deploying code.
    Requirement is as follows.
    1) Convert code (Existing in XID) into RFC.
    2) Call this RFC from ECD server.
    3) Pass server name u2018ECDu2019 as import parameter to RFC.
    5) Monitor ECD database using same piece of code (Via RFC).
Let me know whether it is possible to monitor R/3 database using RFC?
If possible then what are mandatory object I need to add in RFC?

  • Monitoring of RFC Connections

    Hi Folks,
is there any option to monitor a TCP/IP RFC connection.
I need something like a heartbeat on a registered program connection.
Something like GRMG for http, just working for RFC.
Is there any standard way to do this or do I need to use OS level tools?
    Thanks,

  • Monitoring Multiple RFCs with CCMS

    Hi,
I have created a Z data collection method as per NOTE 1069130,mapped it to the standard MTE Class "
"Availability_RFC_Destinations" But i dont see the data in RZ20 monitor  Plese help me with this

    Hello Chris,
just played around on my test system...
    > Also MTE_CLASS, which is left blank.
If MTE_CLASS is used but left blank the MTE will be created with an MTE class "Availability_RFC_Destinations_MA_Class" (I assume this is the case in your system).
If the MTE_CLASS parameter does not exist in the method definition, the data collector will use "<name of data collection method>_MA_Class" as MTE class.
    > I tried removing MTE_CLASS
That's a good idea but at first you will have to delete the MTEs directly from rz20 using "Option 4" when the popup regarding how to delete the MTE comes up. This way the information about the MTE and the assigned MTE class is deleted from the monitoring shared memory. After you have deleted the MTEs you can reset the monitoring segment into warm-up status again (now using the data collection methods without MTE_CLASS parameter). This way the MTEs should be created using their individual MTE class.

  • Monitoring Number of queue entries RFC

    Hello Guys,
I´m configuring Monitoring in Transaction SOLUTION_MANAGER and RZ20.
    One dout.
In RZ20 (Solution Manager), I have one alert for monitoring Transactional RFC and Queued RFC --> Inbound Queues --> Number of queue entries, with this alert i look number of queue entries.
But i don´t have the alert for PI System....( not Number of queue entries)
How add this alert for PI System (PI 7.0) ?
    Best Regards,
    Basis Team

    Hello,
It should be there already. Also take a look on notr 441269 and try to do a warmup on this local segment. To do this, go to RZ21 -> Context Overview -> Transactional RFC and Queued RFC -> Topology -> Reset to WARMUP status.

    hey
    yes u can monitor RFC's in sxmb_moni.
in addition to that you can see SM58 (in case of any errors in RFC)

  • Monitoring RFCs on Remote Systems

    Hi,
I am attempting to convert our CCMS monitoring to a central instance on solman. One of the things we monitor in the PRD system is availability of two RFC destinations.
I am unable to figure out how these can be monitored from solution manager as a central system. When I set these up in solman under availability monitoring, it appears that solman is expecting these RFC destinations to be local to solman, rather than on the PRD system.
How can I get solman to monitor the RFC on PRD? It does not appear that the RFC availability monitoring method allows you to specify which system the RFC resides on.
    Thanks much,
    Chris.

    Hi,
ok I will try to explain how get to see the MTE's of ur PRD system.
    1.   TA: RZ20
    2.   change in maintenance mode (Extras -> Activate Maintenance Mode)
    3.   now u r able to create a new monitor set. So please do this by clicking on the create button.
3.2 place a describing name and select who should be able to see this set. Click OK and now u will see ur new own monitor set
    4.   Click one time on that set and click one more time on the create button. Now u will get an list with all monitored Systems, that are connected to the solution Manager. Search in the PRD System the MTE u like to see and save ur new monitor with an discribing name.
    5. Hopefully if I'm forgottin' nothin u will see after save and activate ur objects from the managed System in the CEN System.
So if anything is missing feel fre and contact me ...

  • Job to monitor RFC connection

    Hi,
Is there any FM, ABAP report or job using which I can monitor the RFC connection of a source system.
Basically I want to define one step in process chain which will check the RFC connection. If connection is fine, then only the remaining steps in Process chain as defined should execute.
    Any Idea?
    Regards,
    Vikrant.

    Hi Paolo,
Thx for replying. But I'm not quite sure how to use this FM.
It doesn't have any input parameter. So I cannot give any particular source system name for monitoring if I use it in a ABAP report.
Could you explain a bit more.
    Regards
    Vikrant.

    Hi Satish,
first monitor  Sender RFC channel in communciation channel monitroing ,after executing program in ECC if BAPI triggered then definely you will see log in RFC sender channel.

the response time in operations that i am getting is 150  milliseconds maximum which is around .5 or so seconds.
but the RFC in which connection test is successful is getting red alert.
can any one pls let me know what exactly is the configuration am missing out.
    Thanks,

    Hi
    I am monitoring TRansactional RFC.
I was interested to know the type of the RFC used(from SM59), for example T, 3, I,G etc. Please let us know the RFC used and type and importantly systems involved to drill further.
    Please check the following:
    1) Logical component assignment against that step.
    2) Existence of RFC on satellite system.
    3) Connection test and Jumpin to that host.
    4) The Read RFC you are using has got enough authorizations on that Satellite system.

  • Regarding BW precalculation server monitoring

Hi Experts, we have BW precalculation server configured in pur NW2004s BW system. My requirement is if i can monitor RSPRECADMIN using Solution manager. Like if precalc server goes down it should generate an alert.
Any inputs on the above would be much appreciated.
    Thanks Amber S

As indicated [earlier here in SDN|How to monitor Bi Precalculation?;,there is no MTE for monitoring Precalc. The work-around is to monitor the BI RFC PREC_<SID>. This provides a better end-to-end check than simply checking the Windows service on the Precalc server. Rather than monitor the RFC on the remote system, I simply created a duplicate of the RFC on the Solution Manager system, and monitored that.
See [Monitoring Availability of Services|http://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/go/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/70531389-0c01-0010-2a95-c019524764ae] (PDF) for a description of RFC monitoring.
