Monitoring of WorkFlows

Hello,
I am looking for an option to monitor errors which may occur with WorkFlows (Transaction -Y SBWP). Best would be an integration in CCMS. I did quite a lot of research in SAP help and google... But with no luck until now. So I hope that some one here can help.
Thanks a lot
Michael

Hello,
thanks a lot for your answer, I am actually looking for a more automated solution. As like the integration of the monitoring in CCMS. The goal is not to check via transactions, it is more that I like to run the system the checks an I only want to get an alert when something is not ok.
Thanks again
Michael

  • BP Monitoring - Business Workflow

    Dear all,
    I would like to implement BP monitoring for workflow, however I face following problem:
    I try to monitor workflow between CRM and ECC (no ALE) based on input of transactions SWI1, SWI2_FREQ, SWI2_DIAG, SWUD. Howevver when I go to Setup Business Process Monitoring I cannot find out which monitoring object to use. I would like to receive an alert when there's the problem with workflow (SWI2_DIAG). What kind of monitoring type is that (application, background, dialog etc.)? How can I get alert based on errornous status of this transaction? Is there a method to get an alert based on that? Is there a report or background job which might be monitored for result? Is there a best practice/examples/templates for the solution?
    Any idea?
    Thank you,
    Libor

    First of all, the following plug-ins must be imported into SAP Solution Manager and the connected satellite systems:
    ST/PI
    ST/A-PI.
    In each case, download the most current versions from SAP Service Marketplace. (http://service.sap.com/swdc)
    You also require a certification key to be able to use the Business Process Monitoring function in SAP Solution Manager. To obtain a certification key, create a customer message under the SV-SMG-OP component and specify the following information:
    Service: Setup Business Process Monitoring (CP_BPM),
    System ID: <of the SAP Solution Manager system>,
    Installation number: <of the SAP Solution Manager system>.
    For detailed information, refer to SAP Note 521820.

  • Monitoring/ analysing workflow

    hi,
    we are on SRM 2.0 with EBP 3.5 and Requisite 3.5/88.
    I am checking the workflow concept in EBP. I am wondering wheather I have to operate any secret switch to enable the monitoring of the standard workflows - so far we have got the 1-step approvement wf up and running. For a start I would like to monitor events - but:
    Do we have to activate anyhing else except from event trace (which i activated via TA SWELS).
    Although the wf starts and the whole process works fine, I can't see anything in TA SWEL (my select options are ok, i assume - "every event of today since 0:00 h, with or without event linkage").
    In fact I just checked TA SWI6 (Workflows of Object) - when checking WFs for object BUS2121 (Shopping Cart) I can see my workflows. But I'd also quite like to monitor the events...
    Are there any other ways you might suggest?
    help appreciated,
    regards, matthias

    Hi Yann,
    SWI1 seems a very helpful monitor, also SWI6. But can you tell me why I can't see any event in SWEL (event trace)?
    When I understand the WFs for Shopping Carts (BUS2121 Object) correctly, the starting event for a shopping cart is 'SAVED'.
    But I never see this or any other event in SWEL, although I activated the event trace.

  • Error monitoring through workflow for idoc with message type ORDRSP

    Hi All,
    Through WE19 I am trying to post a failed idoc ie idoc in 51 status for message type ORDRSP to check whether the event IDOCORDRSP-INPUTERROROCCURED event is triggering or not. Though the idoc is going into 51 status and partner profile is maintained I cannot find this event in SWEL. I checked in fm IDOC_INPUT_ORDRSP fm and found that workflow_result is 99999.
    Can anybody tell me why the event is not getting triggered for the message type ORDRSP or where do I debug to find out what is going wrong. IDOC_INPUT_ORDRSP  fm is getting called from BUS2012 'S method confirmfromORDRSP which is very strange.So I am not getting where do I debug.
    Regards
    Suchandra

    Hi All,
    Solved it by my self.. To trigger the event we need to populate the EDIDC control record in WE19 and press standard inbound button 'not test by inbound fm) and then the inputerroroccured event will trigger...

  • Business Prozess Monitoring -- Workflow Prozess

    Hallo,
    I will monitoring a workflow - process. The Workflow generate a Container which comprise some structures or flags. I will check the Content of the structure or the flag, if there have the correct data. Is it possible to check the Workflow with a ABAP Program or can i use one BADI  or other thing? Which BADI can i use.
    I thank you for your answers.
    Thanks

    Hello Roland,
    Martin's tip should be sufficient to select the interface. Anyway you should perhaps have a look under https://service.sap.com/bpm --> Media Library --> Technical Information --> Setup Guide - Interface Monitoring.

    I wish to know monitioring process of workflow.

    Hi Karthik,
    If you want to monitor details of the BPM with technical details or workflow log or messages inside the BPM then either you can use SXMB_MONI_BPE or you can go from SXMB_MONI->PE->Technical Details
    Please check the follwoing document.....
    https://websmp208.sap-ag.de/nw-howtoguides
    in this go for " Exchange Infrastructure " & click on " How To Monitor Integration Processes (ccBPM) "
    This is the complete guide for monitoring BPM.

  • Unabled to get the workflow screen

    Hi,
    Could you tell me why the system give me this error when I click on Special/Monitor Budget Workflows In PA:
    FRM-40735: SPECIAL1 Trigger raised
    unhadled exception ORA-20002

    Hi,
    You can find the workitem id in table SWW_WI2OBJ.
    Here you need to pass the invoice number in "Instacne ID" with leading zeros, business object in Object type.
    This may take little bit longer time.
    After getting the workitem number then look into table SWWWIHEAD for the workitem status.
    Thanks and regards,

  • Service Manager 2012 Agentless Monitoring and SQL Servers More secure distribution

    Having both SCSM 2012 and 2012 in my network, I want to monitor the all using a single account which is securely distributed. The problem is agentless monitored servers does not appear in the "more secure" list.
    My Scenario:
    I have scsm 2012 installed with the following condition:
    SCSM Main DB -> Monitored with Agent (not a management server)
    SCSM Data Warehouse -> Agentless monitored
    SCSM Workflow and other Management Servers -> Agentless Monitored
    Some Test SCSM 2012 Servers with SQL on the same machine -> Agentless Monitored
    Some Test and Operational SCSM 2012 Servers -> Agentless Monitored
    I want to use a single account to monitor them all, I have set the "Service Manager Database Account" profile (yet to understand why Service Manager Database
    Account is actually a Profile!) and in the underlying account set the distribution to "more secure" . As stated above, I have many servers with the SQL running on the management serves and I cannot
    configure them in the SQL account.
    Is my scenario wrong?
    Thanks
    YSobhdel

    It seems the SQL MP is monitoring the database on agentless managed computers without my permission!
    All my agentless managed computers are using the default action account to monitor the SQL!
    Any explanation why is that so?
    Thanks

  • Workflow in Error state in SWI1 tx, but still table is updating as usual, weird!!

    Hello,
    We have a custom workflow, z_workflow.
    In this z_workflow, its calling a custom FM, z_fm.
    In this z_fm, I'm updating a custom tbale, z_table.
    Before writing UPDATE z_table, I am locking this z_table by using 'ENQUEUE_E_TABLE', as below,
    Pls. note this workflow is triggering in BACK GROUND by WF-BATCH user
    CALL FUNCTION 'ENQUEUE_E_TABLE'
                      EXPORTING
                        mode_rstable   = 'E'
                        tabname        = 'Z_TABLE'
                      EXCEPTIONS
                        foreign_lock   = 1
                        system_failure = 2
                        OTHERS         = 3.
                    IF sy-subrc = 0.
                      UPDATE z_table
                       SET matnr = ls_mara-matnr
                              descr = lv_text
                        WHERE ref_id = ref_id.
                      CALL FUNCTION 'DEQUEUE_E_TABLE'
                        EXPORTING
                          mode_rstable = 'E'
                          tabname      = 'Z_TABLE'.
                     ELSE.
                         MESSAGE ID sy-msgid TYPE sy-msgty NUMBER sy-msgno
                             WITH sy-msgv1 sy-msgv2 sy-msgv3 sy-msgv4. =====>
    ==> If the lock is failing an an ERROR / 'E' type message is occuring, but still the 'Rest of the code blocks' are executing normally (where in 2nd_z_table is updating), but the workflow is ending up in 'Error state' in SWI1 (workflow log) transaction, our users who are monitoring this workflow thinking that the transaction went bad, but again they noticed that the 2nd_z_table is updating as usual!!
                    ENDIF.
                    Rest of the code blocks ==> here another custom tbl, 2nd_z_table is updating
    Our workflow expert said that, the error is occuring, well, but as its (z_fm) calling from / by back ground workflow user, hence the 'Rest of the code blocks' are triggering normally and the 2nd_z_table is updating as usual, but overall the workflow ends up in error state!
    To avoide this confusing situation (workflow in error, but rest of the code blocks are executing normally), workflow expert suggested the below approach (raising of EXCEPTION in z_fm instead of ERROR message), pls. suggest me is it OK / safe / works good for me?
    DO 10 TIMES. => Workflow expert asking me to add all these blue lines to my code
                    CALL FUNCTION 'ENQUEUE_E_TABLE'
                      EXPORTING
                        mode_rstable   = 'E'
                        tabname        = 'Z_TABLE'
                      EXCEPTIONS
                        foreign_lock   = 1
                        system_failure = 2
                        OTHERS         = 3.
                    IF sy-subrc = 0.
                      UPDATE z_table
                       SET matnr = ls_mara-matnr
                              descr = lv_text
                        WHERE ref_id = ref_id.
                      CALL FUNCTION 'DEQUEUE_E_TABLE'
                        EXPORTING
                          mode_rstable = 'E'
                          tabname      = 'Z_TABLE'.
                      CLEAR lv_locking_failed_on_z_table.
                      EXIT.
                    ELSE.
                      WAIT UP TO 1 SECONDS.
                      lv_locking_failed_on_z_table = abap_true.
                    ENDIF.
                  ENDDO.
                  IF lv_locking_failed_on_z_table IS NOT INITIAL.
                    RAISE exception_lock_failed.  ===> Does the Raising EXCEPTION is solve my problem? pls. suggest me
                    RETURN.
                  ENDIF.
    workflow expert said with this raising of exception will not trigger 'Rest of the code blocks' so that user will be not confused
    Thank you

    Hi "3SAP"
    Yes, your WF guy is correct - raising exception will stall the workflow and not execute to the second table update.
    Moreover, second table update logic should be kept inside of the SY-SUBRC = 0 of locking on FIRST TABLE update.
    In current case, I cannot say for sure that second table is getting updated in the same call because as soon as TYPE 'E' message is triggered in a background step, standard exception is triggered in the workflow runtime to stop execution - which will NOT execute the code after MESSAGE statement.
    As mentioned by Mike, the second table may have been updated from another instance/session/etc but from not this one.

  • Multiple levels escalation for deadline monitoring

    Hi all,
    We have a business requirement to perform multiple levels escalation in one of the workflow steps. If the approver does not approve the work item(WI) after one day,  a mail notification will be sent to the approver.  A second mail will be sent again if approver still doesn't approve WI after 48 hours.  Then the third/fourth mail will be sent to approver and approver's boss if approver still doesn't approve WI after 72 / 96 hours.  The fifth mail will be sent to approver's boss's boss if WI is not approved still after 5 days.
    I know how to do simple and modeled deadline monitoring in workflow builder. But I don't know whether our business requirement can be achieved in workflow builder( and this is a step in dynamic parallel processing).  Other option I have is to create an ABAP report to go through the table stores workflow run time data and make this report run several times a day in the batch to send mail notification reminder.
    Did anybody have a similar business requirement like ours? What's the best way to handle it - build it in workflow builder or write an ABAP report?
    Thank you in advance,
    Merta

    Hi Merta,
    We had a similar requirement and this is how I achieved it:
    1.  Pleace your approval task into a loop (while not approved) and create a container element as the approval flag.  This allows you to get out of the loop when the item has been correctly actioned.  Also create a DL element to hold your calculated deadline value;
    2.  Create a method and task to determine the next escalation point based on how many loop passes the instance has had, ie:
         Pass 1 - DL = sy-datum + 1 day;
         Pass 2 - DL = DL1 + 1 day, and so on.
    3.  Create a method to determine who should get what.  Link this to a condition so you know whether to send a mail or escalate the entire workitem.  Create the notification as a send mail within the condition;
    4.  Change the Deadline parameters in your step to "Refer.date/tim" = Expression and bind the DL element;
    5.  Set the processing obsolete property to ensure the workitem is killed when a new pass (and therefore and new deadline/agent etc) is started.
    See the following:
    This one handles the loop/obsolete concept.
