Monitoring Raid Status on SRE-910 module in 3945 router

I'm at my wits end here.  We just recently purchased a 3945 ISR G2 router and have a SRE-910 module (with two hard drives) configured in a Raid 1.  We are running a stand-alone version of ESXi on the service module and I'm trying to figure out how to monitor the status of the Raid on the drives (along with other health issues).  SNMP has revealed nothing so far and even opening a support case for which MIB's to use has proved fruitless.  All the documents I find on monitoring the modules say to use LMS which is now Cisco Prime.  I've downloaded the trial copy, put in the SNMP settings and scanned the router.  I get device results and it shows that I have the SRE-910 module installed, but I get no other configuration / device informaiton from the module itself.
I tried to create a new Monitoring template using the NAM health as the base template (which I'm assuming this is the correct template).  Unfortunately, when I acutally try to deploy the template against the discovered router, I get an 'Unexpected end of list' error which makes me assume I'm still doing something wrong.  I ANYONE out there monitoring the device health of their service modules in a 3945 router?  What am I missing????

Oh, and by the way, I tried to monitor this through the ESXi host / vCenter, but even after pulling one of the hard drives from the module, neither software detected that there was an issue.  That is why I'm assuming that this will have to be monitored on the router side somehow.

  • Function module to monitor Job Status (SM37)

    Is there a function module or a table that I can use to monitor JOB STATUS in BW?
    Thanks in advance!
    Cristina.

    Hi Cristina,
    they are two alike SM37 giving you back the result in a table; very powerful:
    BP_JOB_SELECT_SM37B            Select Background Requests
    BP_JOB_SELECT_SM37C            Extended Job Selection
    goto se37 with one of these. Testing mode: enter A for dialog mode. Perform some selections and execute.
    Check the result and how the system has populated the import parameters.
    let me know if that's what you wanted

  • Monitoring RAID with Solaris 10 x86 and Dell PowerEdge 2650 PERC 3/Di

    Hello,
    I have a PowerEdge 2650 with the PERC 3/Di RAID controller.
    The OS installed is Solaris 10 8/07 U4.
    Currently RAID is configured through the BIOS and it works fine, but I have no way to monitor the status of the drives.
    Is there a command to show me the status of the drives? Drivers I need to install?
    TIA,
    Chris

    I'm just now starting to delve into the X86 servers, and I am not a fan of hardware RAID in general, but on the SPARC side, you would use 'raidctl' to interact with hardware RAID environments.

  • RAID status in Conky

    I wrote a tiny script to monitor the status of RAID arrays. It is written in awk and is meant to be used with conky. I have this in my conky config file:
    RAID: ${execi 60 gawk -f path-to-the-script /proc/mdstat}
    #!/bin/gawk -f
    # This script checks the status of RAID arrays from /proc/mdstat
    /_/ { state = "Warning!"; exit }
    /blocks/ { state = $NF }
    END { print state }
    If everything is working correctly the ouput will be: "RAID: [UU]". It means that both drives are Up and running.
    If there is something wrong with the drive it will give an error message: "RAID: [WARNING!]".
    Maybe someone will find this usefull.

    Thanks!
    I have multiple RAIDs so I used the following command to check the status of a specific RAID:
    ${execi 60 cat /proc/mdstat | grep md126 -A 1 | gawk -f path-to-the-script --}
    (replace md126 with the array you want to check)

  • Please help troubleshoot why SM-SRE WAAS module can't time sync with NTP server

    I have a remote WAAS site where a SM-SRE-900 module is plugged in a 2945 router. Everything is fine except the module can't sync its time to the NTP server. Its NTP was configured right and it can reach the NTP server with no problem. There's no authentication configured. But somehow it can't associate with the NTP server. I have tried manual NTP sync, but it failed too.
    The same NTP server and config is also used for many other WAAS site and the CM. They are all fine. I'm running WAAS 4.2.3 build 7. The module isn't showing any other alarms.
    Here is some show outputs and the manual NTP sync result. I noticed its poll is only 64 seconds while all other sites are showing 1024 seconds.
    waas1#sh ntp status
    ntp enabled
    ntp authentication disabled

    16 Dec 22:06:20 ntpdate[9835]: bind() fails: Permission denied
    Failed to set software clock using NTP server 10.0.0.1

    What the SRE-900 have as it's time?  Use the show clock command.  Does it match within a few minutes of ntp already, if not, and if this is not the first first clock set out of the box, then ntp sync might fail.
    You might try to manually set the clock correctly (set clock ... something), then see if the ntp server will sync.

  • Disk utility says "RAID STATUS: Disk missing"?

    When I boot up OS 10.3.9 there is error message "detected volume OS X cannot read - initialize, ignore or eject" - then it dissappears and the system drive behaves normally. But in disk utitlity it says "RAID STATUS: Disk missing".
    The disk is not partitioned and it will not let me repair permissions. Any ideas?

    Disk Utility monitors the status of the disks in a RAID set. If you see a message indicating that a disk is missing or has failed, try these troubleshooting steps:
    If you are using a striped RAID set, delete the damaged RAID set. Your data may be lost. Be sure to back up your RAID sets and other data regularly.
    If you are using a mirrored RAID set, there may have been an error writing data to the disk. Click Rebuild in the RAID pane of Disk Utility.
    If a problem persists, replace the damaged disk and click Rebuild to rebuild the RAID set.
    Use the First Aid pane to repair the RAID disk, then check the RAID set to see if it still reports an error. If the problem is still present, quit and reopen Disk Utility, select the RAID disk, and click RAID. Check the RAID set to see if it still reports an error. You may need to restart your computer.

    Hello,

    Status : 51
    Incorrect function module IDOC_INPUT_MATMAS01 called up
    I am using MATMAS04 without extension and updated the same in WE57. also checked in WE42 (MATM)
    now, how do I proceed furthur related the above error message?
    Regards,
    Nikhil.

    can very much
    check your partner profiles PROPERLY. If u have the same IDoc type in 2 different partner profiles, check the 2nd one for it's process code. Isn't it the one, which is called after your Idoc is received? Processing code in partner profile is not based only on Idoc Type, but also on Message Type, Message Code and Extension. If the 2nd profile contains the process code, which is called, then check your incoming idoc for header values. May be this is causing your problem.

  • Has anyone upgraded the Ironport ESA to 8.5.6-074 and had the issues of Raid status showing unknown?

    Has anyone upgraded the Ironport ESA to 8.5.6-074 and had the issues of Raid status showing unknown? After we upgraded our appliances we are having issues with our ESA appliances showing the RAID status as unknown. When we reported the issue to CISCO we were updated there were no issues reported at all. Could anyone please confirm if you have experienced the same issue.

    You should see OPTIMAL - meaning the drives in the C170 are in good health/status:

  • [XI 3.1] Monitoring Service Status...?

    In BOE-XI (R2) we could use tools like HP-OpenView to monitor the status of the various BOE-servers because they ran as individual Windows Services - and could be seen from the WINDOWS Services Menu (or CCM).
    HP-OpenView could send us e-mail alerts when a service went down (eg. CMS).
    Now, in BOE-XI (Release 3.1) only the Server Intelligence Agent (SIA) runs as an individual Windows Services - and can be seen from the WINDOWS Services Menu (or CCM).
    Anyone figured-out how to "monitor" and "alert" the status of the BOE-XI (Release 3.1) services...?

    yep use a tool like sysinternals process explorer to lookup the child processes in XI 3.x if you need a list of PID's. In XI 3.x the SIA is the parent service and everything else is just a child process going forward.

  • WLC Not Monitoring AP Status Correctly?

    My 8510 HA pair running 8.0.110.0 doesn't seem to be monitoring the AP status properly. If an AP goes down or is otherwise taken off line, the total number of AP's on the Summary page drops by 1. It should show the same number of Total APs with the number of Up units dropping by 1 and show 1 unit down.
    Any suggestions?
    Thanks,
    Dan

    Similarly, I am working on a solution to monitor APs status through Catalyst 3850 switch, but I found the no specific traps are defined for AP status when AP goes UP/DOWN, only found the traps for ApIfUp/ApIfDown.
    The Catalyst3850 supports CISCO-LWAPP-AP-MIB, only the following traps are defined under ciscoLwappApMIBNotifs, which are:
    ciscoLwappApIfRegulatoryDomainMismatchNotif(1)
    ciscoLwappApCrash (2)
    ciscoLwappApUnsupported (3)
    ciscoLwappApAssociated (4)
    ciscoLwappApPower (5)
    ciscoLwappApRogueApDetected (6)
    ciscoLwappApRogueApCleared (7)
    ciscoLwappApWipsNotification (8)
    ciscoLwappApNoDownlinkChannelNotify (9)
    ciscoLwappApIfUpNotify (10)
    ciscoLwappApIfDownNotify (11)
    The Catalyst3850 switch also support AIRESPACE-WIRELESS-MIB, in this mib, there are two traps defined when AP goes UP/DOWN, which are:
    bsnAPUp and bsnAPDown, but their status are 'obsolete' instead of 'current', and I can't trigger these traps, the only trap I got when disconnecting an AP is the ciscoLwappApAssociated trap, and it only generated after the AP rejoined the controller again, obviously it can't be used for my requirement.
    Is there any way to monitor APs status via the switch/wireless controller in Catalyst 3850? what trap can I use?
    Thank you in advance.

  • Batch status updating using function module BAPI_BATCH_SAVE_REPLICA

    Hi,
    I want to change batch status after creating the outbound delivery through inbound idoc, i was able to create delivery , but after creation, i should update the batch status using function module BAPI_BATCH_SAVE_REPLICA, but i was unable to execute this function module correctly,
    Can any one provide details like what are minimum things that are required to update the batch status using this function module.
    In my system batches are defined at plant level.
    Please let me know the solution if any one knows this.

  • Monitoring the status of a socket...

    I'm using ServerSocket and Socket in a simple client/server model. The situation is unique in that there is only ever one client - ever. That is, the server starts up and listens for the client to connect, once connected the client and server communicate through that socket forever and the server stops listening for connection requests - and, when connection is idle the it remains open.
    On the server side, when a cleint connects I spawn two threads. One to service incoming data, and another to service the outgoing data. Each thread gets a reference to the socket connection by calling back to the parent (server) thread and requesting the socket reference. (e.g. server.getClientConnection();).
    I want to be able to tell if the client has dropped the connection - for what ever reason. If I'm trying to write to the socket when there is no client, I get an exception that I can catch and handle, but I also want to know about the loss of the client when there is no message traffic. I'm exploring java.net.Socket.setKeepAlive() and getKeepAlive(), and I think these methods may be the answer that I'm looking for. However, I'm
    not sure how to use them. Once I call setKeepAlive(true), then what? Do you know how to use these methods, or do you know how I can monitor the status of the socket connection otherwise?
    If at all possible, I'm trying to avoid creating a "sub-protocol" of "are you there? / yes I'm here." messages. I'm hoping that JAVA can handle it for me.
    Your input is greatly Appreciated.
    -Craig

  • Mysterious Missing "Monitor SQL Status" Triangle icon in the SQL Worksheet

    According to the help file, there is a feature in SQL Worksheet which I am not seeing, even though I have the most recent release (1.5.4) and am accessing 11.1.0.7 databases. I don't even see the triangle icon which is supposed to be located between the "cancel" and "execute explain plan" buttons on the SQL Worksheet toolbar.
    "Monitor SQL Status (Oracle Database Release 11.1 and later only) calls the real-time SQL monitoring feature of Oracle Database, enabling you to monitor the performance of SQL statements while they are executing."
    Is this working for anyone else? Any idea what might be preventing me from accessing this feature?

    This is now a menu option. Tools > Monitor SQL.
