"Monitoring Recording" doubt

Hello, I've been testing the Audition CS5.5, I'm not audio producer, I make wedding films, but sometimes I record audio for some situations, so I had been using Soundbooth for that, for record some audio for other things that not be directly with my job... anyway.
The point in that in Soundbooth you could to choose the option to "Monitoring the recording"... I've been using Audition for edit Audio, but have (since the 2.0 version) that not make recording, so I don't remember if Audition have the same option of Monitoring the recording... Trying to do that, I could do it by playing with the Windows Audio Recording options. But want to know if have the option directly in Audition.
Thanks

CAD-based monitoring and recording are based on the phone mirroring the packets to the PC port. You need 2 things for it to work: the phone spanning the traffic to the PC, and the PC able to put its network card into promiscuous mode to receive the traffic.
Make sure that the phones are configured with the option "Span to PC Port" enabled. Since it sounds like this was working previously, that is probably not the issue, but it is the first thing to check.
If the phones are properly configured, try running Wireshark on the workstation and make sure the phone is actually sending the spanned packets, and that the PC is able to receive them. If you are not receiving the packets, maybe try substituting one of the old PCs, and see if that is able to receive the packets.

I remove default VOIP Monitor Service in "Cisco desktop administrator>Services Configuration > Multiline, Monitoring & Recording >Remove VoIP/Recording & Playback Services". Now I can't choose in  "Services Configuration > Multiline, Monitoring & Recording > VoIP Monitoring Device" Default VOIP Monitor Service. How can I return choice my VOIP Monitor Service(IP UCCX)?

    Hi Kalitamih,
This can be regenerated by the Cisco Desktop VOIP Monitor Service.
Please stop the service and start it (do not restart). Let me know how it goes and if it resolves the problem.

  • UCCX7 - Monitoring/Recording packet flow behavior

    Hi,
I have single UCCX7 box which all services include monitoring/recording started and want to understand the packet flow behavior with CAD application.
    1. Monitoring, Desktop capture mode
    1) in CSD, select CAD and click "start Monitoring"
    2) copy the RTP packets from agent IP Phone to CAD via IP Phone "SPAN port" feature
    3) CAD sends the RTP packets to CSD and CSD able to hear the agent IP Phone conversation via CSD's sound card
->please advise whether the steps are correct!!
    2. Monitoring, Server capture mode
    1) how start the monitoring?
    2) where the actual file stores? which directory in UCCX box?
(**I know UCCX's 2nd NIC which configured to VOIP monitor receiving RTP packets via switch's SPAN port but don't know how the monitoring start and where the file stored)
    3. Recording, Desktop capture mode
    1) click "start Recording" in CSD or CAD (CAD=add button from work flow user interface)
    2) copy the RTP packets from agent IP Phone to CAD via IP Phone "SPAN port" feature
    3) where the actual file stores? CAD box or CSD box?
(**I know CSD can retrieve the recorded file and have an option to save but don't know where the recorded file retrieved)
    4. Recording, Server capture mode
    1) how start the recording?
    2) where the actual file stores? which directory in UCCX box?
    Advise please!!

    Hi,
    1. This is correct. CSD sends the startMonitoring message to CAD directly. CAD sends RTP packets to CSD directly and CSD plays them.
    2. CSD sends startMonitoring to UCCX server. Since the agent phone is spanned to the UCCX server's VOIP Mon NIC, the server then traps the packets and sends them back to the CSD which plays them.
    3. Recorded files are stored in TO and FROM .raw format in C:\Program Files\Cisco\Desktop_Audio on the UCCX server
    4. Same as above.
The best thing to do, and how most of TAC troubleshoots is to use the CSD and CAD debugs set to TRACE and also Wireshark on the CAD, CSD and UCCX server all at the same time.

  • IMac built in speakers stop while monitoring recording

I'm recording from a tape player using a PowerWave for input and my iMac G5's built in speakers for the monitor. After a little while, the speakers pop and won't play anything any more. Sometimes I can get them to reactivate by starting iTunes. It's quite strange. Any ideas? Once I finally finish recording and quit Garageband, the speakers play again.

  • Monitor, Recorder, and Playback Program using ddns

Maybe I'm missing something, but I cannot setup the WVC54GCA monitor program to find a remote camera using the assigned (via TZO) URL.  The setup functions allow only a place for IP address, not URL.   If I find the current (dynamic) IP address for the remote camera, and plug that in, everything works fine, but when the IP address is changed, I will need to re-enter the new address.  Kinda defeats the purpose of using TZO.
I called tech support, and after 1/2 hour, I realized that they had no idea what I was talking about.  A specialist promised to call me back, but that did not happen.  I think Linksys, who otherwise makes good products, should reconsider overseas tech support.  It never works!   Just blowin-off some steam here....
Anyone have any idea how I can solve this or what am I doing wrong?
    Thanks,
    Anthony
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

Sorry if my question was not clear.  I'll try to re-state it.
The ddns service is working remotely as it should.  No problems accessing, viewing, or setting-up the camera remotely using my assigned URL.
My problem is with the recording software utility ONLY.  The software only works if I put in the camera's web IP address because it only has an input field for IP address NOT URL in the Utilities setup window.
i.e.  I cannot type in xxxxx.mylinksys.comort number as I would need to in order to use the recording utility.
    Thanks in advance,
    Anthony

  • CAD 8.5 - desktop monitoring/recording not "supported" in WIN7 64-bit, Really ?

Does "not supported' mean it doesn't work at all or TAC wont support it.  Anyone have any experience good or bad ?
I'm pretty disappointed that Cisco finally steps into the modern age with their first support for a 64-bit operating system in the year 2011 but yet its not fully functional.
What do we do for users across WAN links etc.. for desktop monitoring ?  A 3rd party app, etc..
Will UCCX 9.x support the Built in Bridge (BIB) ?
From the CAD user guide, page 8 in the PDF
    http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/voice_ip_comm/cust_contact/contact_center/crs/express_8_5/user/guide/cad85ccxug-cm.pdf
NOTE: Desktop-based monitoring and recording is not supported on Windows 7 64-bit running WoW64. However, Unified CM-based monitoring and SPAN-based monitoring and recording are supported on Windows 7 64-bit running WoW64.

Just curious but did you upgrade from UCCX8 to 8.5? If so, were you experiencing similar issues on that version or were these introduced in 8.5? We are currently with a UCCX/CAD 8 install and they are having quite a few problems with CAD, specifically with CSD. They did not previously have these issues on UCCX 4 prior to building out this new UCCX 8 system. Needless to say they are puzzled as to why they have experiencing a 'downgrade' after upgrading to a much newer version. They have had little luck with TAC so far but there is some progress. Regardless, I'm just curious if alot of these issues are related to the new rev of code (beginning with 8) being linux based v/s window. Essentially requiring a re-write of the code I would assume.

  • Dual monitor recording with Captivate

I would like to record a software demonstration that involves two software applications, each running on a separate monitor. I would like to be able to move from one application to the other during the demo. Is this possible?

    Hi there
Perhaps in this case you want to enable the Panning option before you record? Personally, I strongly dislike the automatic panning, but in your case Manual Panning might not be a bad choice.
    Cheers... Rick

  • Can't hear monitor / recording from mixer

I'm running three mics and a direct feed from a pre-amp into a Yamaha mixer and then from the mixer to the MBP using Garage Band purely as a recording device.
But I can't hear the mix that the Mac is recording.
    Never used GB08 before.
Help! (Band goes on in an hour or two.)

    Thanks!
(Part of the problem was that I was using a friend's BOSE headphones and he hadn't mentioned they have to powered on separately. Ok, that was dumb.)

  • Agent Desktop Recording and Silent Monitoring with IP Communicator.

Reading through the forums I have seen several posts which make me think this should work, but I can't seem to get silent monitoring or recording using the agent desktop to work when the agent is connected through IP communicator.   Currently I have help desk agents using extension mobility to log into 7962s that are connected to thier desktops running agent desktop connecting to UCCX 7.01.  Silent monitoring and recording work fine with thier hard phones. When I install IP communicator on the PC and log into it using EM, the agent desktop takes control of the IPC just fine and will distribute calls to it, but my recordings are blank and silent monitoring from an supervisor station fails to initialize.  Is there something I am missing in the configuration that is special when using IPC instead of a hard phone?  Thanks in advance.

Couple of things I've learned about the CIPC and monitoring/recording:
No named devices.  Use the SEP + Mac Address of the local Ethernet interface.
Ensure the Ethernet interface can be put into permiscuous mode.
Ensure you are NOT using a shared line appearance for the IPCC Extension.
If you are using CAD to do the monitoring/recording, launch the CIPC before you launch CAD
If you are using SPAN, ensure the CIPC RTP traffic will traverse the network where the SPAN interface is located.
If you are calling phone-to-phone, know that the CIPC will attempt to negoitiate G.722.  UCCX cannot monitor/record G.722.  Set the region or call to the PSTN where you can guarantee a G.711 or G.729 call.

  • Recording and Monitoring issue in UCCX

    Hi,
I am unable to configure Monitoring/Recording as CDA gives an error "CDAUI1000 Error while trying to load the data.Ensure that the system path includes the location of the WebAdminLib.dll".I checked the dcoumentation and it says give the path in "environment variable" but I don't know how to do that.
Also besides this I am using 7942 IP phones which are connected to the same port as desktop but both of them are in different VLANs.Please let what additional configuration I will have to do to achieve desktop monitoring.
    Regards
    Amit Prasad

Be sure to folow the steps below, and verify that the environment variable is moved to the begining of the string. These directions are from the CAD Error Code guide which are attached to the post.
Ensure that the system path includes the location of the WebAdminLib.dll. Type: Fatal Add’l Info: Error indicating that the location of the WebAdminLib.dll is not added to the System path. Action: On the Unified CCX server, add the location of the WebAdminLib.dll (C:\Program Files\Cisco\ Desktop\bin) to the Path environment variable.
    1. In Control panel, launch the System utility.
    2. On the Advanced tab, click Environment Variables.
    3. From the list of system variables, select Path and click Edit.
    4. In the Variable value field, locate the string C:\Program Files\Cisco\Desktop\bin; and, using cut/paste, move it to the beginning of the variable value string. This results in the DLL being accessed from the correct location.
    5. Click OK and close the System utility.
    6. Stop the Cisco Unified Node Manager.
    7. On the Unified CCX server, delete the teamadmin folder from these locations: C:\Program Files\wfavvid\ tomcat_appadmin\webapps C:\Program Files\wfavvid\ tomcat_appadmin\work\catalina\localhost
    8. Restart the Unified Node Manager, and wait two minutes.
    9. Access Cisco Desktop Administrator and verify that you can navigate to the Services Configuration > Enterprise Data > Fields page.

  • Attention skype users! - MS patent to allow recording/spying of VoIP

    hi everyone,
I thought Skype users using Archlinux might want to have a look at a technology Microsoft Corporation has patented on June 23 2011, that will possibly end up in skype and potentially would allow viewing of conversations using subversive techniques that abuse networking protocols to allow your conversations to be routed to a recording agent. (ie: Digital wire-tapping) Microsoft, Government and law enforcement can make use of this new technology to view/monitor/record your calls. this potentially will affect not only skype users, but any VoIP platform that Microsoft supports/develops. (ie: Xbox 360, Office 365 too)
    here is a link to the article;
    http://softwarefreedom.org/blog/2011/jun/29/Office-365/
for those of you who aren't familiar with www.softwarefreedom.com ... Software Freedom Law Center = Legal team for the Free Software Foundation, and they offer legal advice for free software developers - this source is legit.
    here is a link to the Patent in question, itself;
    http://appft1.uspto.gov/netacgi/nph-Par … 0110153809
the SFLC also has a link to this patent in their blog... If you have a look at the patent itself, it's pretty clear what the plan entails, and isn't overly difficult to read through.
Myself, i am not impressed with this news, and won't be using skype at all ever again, at home or at work, period. ~ Part of the reason for posting (aside from to share this news with those who are unaware) - i will be looking for a more secure free-alternative. If any Archers have advice on a good VoIP client for linux, by all means - feel free to post
also, i'd like to hear other Archer's opinions on the matter!
NOTE: ****Let's keep this conversation clean, if you have opinions on the matter as per the moderators request; No Microsoft bashing, attacking governments, etc. and/or drawing conclusions that may not be factual ie: stick to the forum guidelines - by opinions that isn't what i meant. i was more interested if any of you think that there are valid concerns to be discussed***

From my point of view: I don't care about calling phones, since I never ever ever EVER use up the free minutes I have on my phone anyway. And I really prefer teamspeak 3 / gtalk with voip support, etc.
I currently refuse to add anybody in skype, and tell them to get jabber instead. If they have an android phone they *most likely* have a gtalk account anyway. (almost certainly actually...) (- and that works well together with "regular" jabber)
Also I'd really like to point out that "M$ probably doesn't care about us {playing <insert game>,talking about <insert topic here>}" is NOT a valid argument FOR allowing them to be ABLE to spy on you!,
which btw. is the only thing people I talk to seem to respond with...
I'm also not really a fan of skype. At work we use it, and because of that at home i have had to have it as well. Not only that, but i also do a bit of contracted work (here and there) for another company ~ whom relies on skype. everyone works from home, and we essentially have a virtual-office space over skype.  My 'main' employer is in Germany right now, and once the IT department can get him to sign off on it, we will be replacing Skype with something else (we already know he is not going to be impressed with this skype news. He already pushed a corporate mandate down that we will never be migrating to Office365 either, being as we see absolutely no logic in having microsoft host all of our internal data on their servers/ the cloud. <-  it's bad idea in general.
I whole heartedly agree with your last statement about the gaming perspective. whether they care about who's playing X game, talking about Y topic, is completely besides the point. for me, the concerns tend to be centered around a few issues i see:
    1. invasion of privacy - which applies to both individuals, groups, and businesses.
    2. creating a backdoor in their implementations of VoIP, creates more possibilities for exploitation by 3rd parties... which could have number of ill-effects.
    3. who is to say that this technology won't be abused?  (and not necessarily by microsoft, but in general). it's not a stretch of the imagination, to think of ways this might apply. ~ a couple quick examples, which have nothing to do with MS, nor this technology or any particular group specifically, but instead looking at how people have behaved throughout history in in general, would be ... look how airports were doing racial profiling post 9/11.  or how way back when in the 50's the US GOV't targeted anyone who they suspected was a communist ~ from the average Joe, to folk singers, politicians, to movie stars. Most of whom, actually had nothing to do with communism, but there political views didn't gel with the government at the time. they were demonized.. i just feel this technology isn't good for society in general and 'could' create a conflict of interest... I'm not saying something of this nature 'WILL' happen, but the possibly for abuse is there, ya know?
and besides all of that, this whole situation just creates a lot of distrust, it's very invasive, and should be considered malware (because it is).
..maybe i'll check out teamspeak / gtalk - thanks for the tip. I've heard of both, but yours is the first review i have heard (which is helpful, so thanks!)
take care and thanks for your own insights on the matter, it is appreciated!

  • Span-Based Monitor of IPPA Agents at remote site for UCCX 9X

I understand to be able to monitor/record agents using IPPA (for UCCX), you need to utilize Span-based monitoring as opposed to Desktop Monitoring. According to the SRND, it also states that there should be no routing devices between agent phone (IPPA) and UCCX server which means no routers in between. Question I have is if I put the failover UCCX at the same location as the IPPA agents, would this work? I understand there might be an issue with redundancy with this scenario. Thoughts?

It is possible without QM. When using desktop monitoring, the phone is configured to Span to PC port. The agent must be running CAD and the PC running it must be attached to the PC port on the phone. CAD sees the spanned packets from the phone and then forwards them to the recording service on the CCX server. The big gotcha is that the NIC in the PC must not discard 802.1q-tagged packets. If the NIC discards them instead of forwarding them into the NDIS stack, CAD will never see them. Sometimes this takes a Google search and a registry setting change to fix if it doesn't work at first.
