Monitoring the Resources of VMServer and VM ?

Hi,
Is there is any document available to monitor the resource utilization of VM server and the VM on VM server.
I saw a monitor option in VM manager, I would like to see more like a numbers and not a graphical one...

The ovs-agent is responsible for recording statistics for each Oracle VM Server. You can check the ovs_statistic table in the Oracle XE database of the Oracle VM Manager for details.

Hi,
You have to work with overrides in that case. For both Monitors you have to create an override which is targeting your Group of Servers and configure the thresholds as you need them.

uninstalled firefox ....deleted all files still remaining under mozilla firefox directory in program files ... to avoid having to reprogram all my settings, reisntall all addons as well .. I did not remove anything from mozilla firefox that is stored in either appdata or under the windows users directory (if any)
... the as suggested reinstalled the latest version of the firefox browser using the link you provided in the email ..; tested and several issues still remain present and unresolved ....
so please this is urgent or I will have to jump browsers and start using chrome .. because we work 14 hours a day 6 (sometimes 7) days a week, to get ready for the launch of our newest venture and we cannot lose that much days on browser related issues ... so please instead of putting me through week long step process .. of do this .. do that .. can you please actually look into the issue from your end .. I use firefox for so many, many years thta I deserve this kind of support .. thnx Robert

is there a way - an application or widget - that allows you to monitor the amount (number of in and out) for my email?

I called Sun on this one, and found that everything is included under rlim_fd_max, unix sockets, std file descriptors, pipes, everything. At least I now know what to monitor with LSOF.

I have a locking monitoring script as below, which is currently run at daytime.
We now planned to cron the script to run by 24/7. But we have concern since this is a old legacy system.
Please advise if I going to turn on the script to run by 24/7, which item I need to monitor on?(eg: temp space, rollback segments etc)
Hope to gather some statistic whether it is safe to run the script at 24/7..

you can use v$lock to identify locks directly:

I am able to unmonitor and monitor the resources manually. What is the cause of these WARNING messages? This from Oracle and we have yet to complete the installation of HA-Oracle. Oracle is not installed and tnsnames.ora and listener.ora is not configured. Is this the reason? If so, could someone explain why you cannot online the resource group until after the application has been installed.

As the manual says for clrs create:
By default, resources are created in the enabled state with monitoring enabled. so when you issue the clrg online -emM it is just simply warning you that these other resources weren't disable. Note they wouldn't have been started because the RG would have been offline.
Does that explain it? If not, ask more questions.

Monitoring & Allocating Resources On ACE20-MOD-K9

Hi,
We are currently running a ACE20 with 11 contexts. Recently we have seen that one of the contexts is being 'starved' of resources, especially Concurrent Connections, Bandwidth and Throughput.
Whilst we know how to address this situation by reallocating resources from less busy contexts, I was wondering if there was a more scientific way of looking at the resources being used and calculating the best way to allocate them across the ACE other than just looking at the 'show resource usage' and 'show resource allocated' commands?
Has Cisco or any other 3rd party developed a handy tool to monitor the the ACE resources which will possibly assist with calculating the optimum resource allocations across all contexts?
If there isn't a tool is there any formula which can be used?

Regarding tools - you can use ANM (http://www.cisco.com/en/US/products/ps6904/index.html). This is a management system for ACEs. It collects data and provides central management and monitoring point for your ACE devices. So, you can see consolidated statistic and information for your deices in userfriednly GUI and make changes there too.
As a handmade solution - you can use available SNMP traps + e.g. write some script which will collect resource usage statistic for you.
I can't imagine some kind of system or formula which can decide how much resources you need to allocate to particular context. That is the same as in any network design project - based on expected load you need to estimate amount of resources you need.

You might consider a chart, instead of an X-Y graph. You don't need to supply an x-axis array, if your samples are evenly spaced in time.
A chart gradually (or rapidly) moves from right to left, with new values appearing on the right, and old values disappearing off the left side.
This sort of thing is what LabVIEW was designed for. What specifically, are you having trouble with?

CSS 11501 7.40 Monitoring the services on real servers?

Hi,
Just want to ask some basic questions, How can i monitor the services (ie 80 and 443) of the real servers. So that when the CSS11501 detects that one of the services of one of the real servers is down, it will not forward the traffic to that server. Or is the CSS is configured to monitor the services by default?
Because we are planning to upgrade one of the webservers (web01) while web02 is running, if we shutdown the service 80 and 443, does it affect the end-user, will CSS automatically redirect it to web02?

What determines when the My Timesheet item will display in the Resource Availability Page?

Can someone point me to where I can get more information on the My Timesheet item that displays in the Details section of the Resource Availability page? I cannot figure out where this information is coming from or what determines how many My Timesheet
lines you see.
In one Project Server environment, I noticed that each user had 3-4 My Timesheet line items in the Resource Availability page. The period I was looking at spanned 8 weeks and all of those weeks were in the future. I checked the Manage Timesheets
page for one of the users that had 4 My Timesheet items in the Resource Availability page. The user did not have any timesheets created for the 8-week period I was reporting on in the Resource Availability page. To make matters more confusing,
some resources only had 3 My Timesheet line items in the Resource Availability page for the same period. So it seems like something other than active timesheets for the period is dictating how many My Timesheet lines display. Also curious was the
fact that ALL of the My Timesheet items for all users in the Resource Availability page (7 or 8 people) showed "0h" for all of the periods displayed.
I decided to look into this further in a separate Project Server environment, because I didn't have access to the first one at the time. Both environments were configured to not use single entry mode and used resource plans to calculate allocation.
In this second environment, I entered hours against an administrative task classified as non-working time for one week and submitted / approved this sheet. I entered hours against a project task for a second week and submitted / approved this sheet.
I then used the Resource Availability page and "reported" on a period including those periods (20-week period total). I didn't see a single My Timesheet item. Not even any showing the "0h" designation I had seen in the first environment.
So long story short, I cannot figure out the criteria that dictates when a My Timesheet item displays. And I also can't figure out the purpose. If the Resource Availability page is designed to show planned work (either through the planned allocations
stored in resource plans or planned assignments through project schedules), what is the point of the My Timesheet values? Wouldn't planned work be captured in the project line items? If it's for administrative, non-working time only, why would
the My Timesheet items not show up in the second environment scenario? Any help / insight would be appreciated.

I use ProjectServer 2013.
I always check the resource's capacity and plan in Resource center.
But There is no information about resource performance in Resource Center.
Is it possible to view the all resource's performance(actual work) in Resource center ?
if possible, which parameter should be changed in server settings?

Hi,
after selecting a resource in Resource Center, use "Resource Assignments" in the ribbon. In Resource Assignments view, use "Timephase Data" (second button from left).
This will give you information about Actual Work.

General error: The resource map is incorrect?

I'm getting a 'General Error' with a number of clips on the timeline. I go to the media, try to open it in Quicktime, and get a pop-up: 'The resource map is incorrect.'
Is any repair possible, or do I have to recapture the material? It would be interesting to know what the 'resource map' is, and if there is anything I might have done personally to make it 'incorrect'.

How is the drive where the clips are stored, formatted?
Macs use HFS+ (Mac OS Extended) formatting which provides for support of Resource Forks in files.
Windows FAT format does not provide this functionality -it is a so called flat format -Resource Forks are stripped from the file. Your Mac needs that information to tell the operating system how to handle the files, for instance, what application opens them.
If your drive is indeed FAT formatted as most "off the shelf" drives are, you will have to reformat (Erase) it using Disk Utility and recapture the footage. This will of course destroy all information on the drive.

Hello Karthi,
Can you just preselct the business events from HRVPVA into an internal table then loop at the table as you are processing the RFC? This would probably be a more efficient manner of processing the Resources then trying to use BDC logic to select each one.
