Monitoring Xi - SXMB_MONI
Is there a way I can monitor errors reported in SXMB_MONI through RZ20?
Hi All,
I am not able to see the Exchange Infrastructure Monitor Template in RZ20! I have seen the same in PI7 and CEN (Solution Manager) system as well. The Central System monitoring for PI system is configured and working fine!
Please help as I want to monitor the SXMB_MONI messages on The CEN System!
Thanks in Advance!

No monitoring in SXMB_MONI possible?
Hi,
I've created a synchronous scenario FILE -> PI -> RFC.
IN PI (7.1) there is some mapping.
The RFC connects to IS-U system.
When i test this scenario from the RWB everything works fine.
I can see in IS-U that the RFC is executed and data is created.
I was expecting to see the messages (request and reponse) via transaction SXMB_MONI, but there is nothing there.
I can see the messages in message monitoring in the RWB but i cannot see the message content, i.e. the body of what i send or receive. Only two messages that i can view the SOAP headers off.
So everything goes well but why can i not see it in more details?
Is that the set-up of the system? Do i need to talk the admin?
Or are there new features in mon itoring in 7.1 that i can set myself?
Some advice please.
Thx
RobertHi Shabarish,
Thx.
It works now.

Steps for SXMB_MONI error message monitoring in CEN
Hi All,

Please help as I want to monitor the SXMB_MONI messages on The CEN System!

AntarpreetHi Nallam,
The structure is simple like 300 nodes for items after mapping and these are to be inserted in to SAP tables using RFC. But in the Adapter engine enteries found were 250.
The same message when sent again worked fine but we have to find the root cause of the error.
Thanks

Can't we monitor IDOC in SXMB_MONI ??
Hi All,
Can't we monitor in SXMB_MONI if the IDOC is Posted From R/3 to XI ???
What Could be the Reason
Regards
VamsiHi Vamsi,
The IDOC will be in SXMB_Moni only when it is sucessfully posted to XI system.
So we monitor whether the IDOC have reached the XI by the Tcode IDX5.
If in case it as failed, it may got failed in R3 system in SM58.

What is Difference between SXMB_MONI and SXMB_MONITOR?
what is Difference between SXMB_MONI and SXMB_MONITOR?
Can any explain to this question.please?Hello,
Both are same.
SXMB_MONI is area menu which will contain all multiple transactions pertaining to monitoring.
SXMB_MONI contains some functions viz monitoring for Bridging, Archived Msgs, Job overview, persistence layer analysis.
SXI_monitor directly leads to the message monitoring for the IS, which is part of the SXMB_MONI.
SXI_MONITOR directly executes the monitoring report.

Green flag to Red flag in SXMB_MONI
Hello experts,
During the FILE -> BPM -> RFC scenario, i use a mapping step to intentionally throw an exception to make application errors visible in the monitoring logs (SXMB_MONI).
This way a red flag on the outbound status field is shown if the condition to execute this mapping is met.
This works well for its intended purpose in a scenario, but doing the same approach for another scenario (everything is done exactly the same way), the second scenario shows a green flag on the outbound status field.
the Greed flag dictates "message is scheduled on the outbound side", once i click the "PE", i can see the queue has failed in the BPM.
I am not clear as to why it displays green flag instead of a red flag. The requirement is to display the red flag. (and so that no queue-clearing is required).
Any ideas on how to achieve this is greatly appreciated.
Thanks.hi, thanks,
when i click to the Queue ID, it opens the SMQ2 (qRFC inbound) .. here i can only see 1 LUW displayed, with SYSFAIL status. This is because of the intentional exception thrown via a mapping step.
Instead of failing at the queue (and get a green flag in sxmb_moni), it should show error status in sxmb_moni with red flag in the "outbound status" field.
If i clear this and unlock the queue, the next execution again falls into a failure in queue status (and a green flag in the sxmb_moni).
I appreciate any other ideas.
Thank you. -
Monitoring of older RFC Adapter messages - RFC API
Hi,
I have successfully implemented a number of scenarios (File to rfc & File to Idoc)that required external data lookup - using the RFC API (calling a customer RFC FM) (and parsing the response with DOM).
I am also using Global variables to store my lookup responses to help minimize the number of RFC calls invoked.
When trouble shooting - as expected the log in the communication channel for the RFC adapter shows the BAPI response. However the number of records is always restricted to 25.
If I process a message with 30 records, and lets say the first RFC Lookup fails but the remaining 29 are successfully - because the log is limited to 25 I lose a record of this error.
Am I missing another method of search?
Is this just a display restriction and perhaps I could report over the underlying tables myself?
Regards
AndrewCommunication channel monitoring is as i understood primarily für monitoring the module chain a message is eventually running through. Did you try monitoring via RWB->Message Monitoring or sxmb_moni? There also should be a reference to the response. Maybe I didn´t get you right, but as far as I remember RFC Calls are also listed there with a bigger history.

File Missing in SXMB_MONI
Hi,
I am reading a fixed width file using File sender adapter.
The data in the fixed width file is
Header1
Item1
Item2
Item3
Header2
Item1
Item2
Header3
Item1
In the recordset structure it is defined Header,,Item,
Header.fieldFixedLengths = 1,22
Header.endSeparator = 'nl'
Header.fieldNames = TYPE,CODE
Header.keyFieldName = 'H'
Header.lastFieldsOptional = YES
Header.ignoreRecordsetName = true
Item.fieldFixedLengths = 1,10
Item.endSeparator = 'nl'
Item.fieldNames = TYPE,QTY
Item.keyFieldName = 'I'
Item.lastFieldsOptional = YES
Item.ignoreRecordsetName = true
In the data type the definition of file is
<Message Type>
<Recordset>
<Header> Ocurrance 1 to unbounded
<TYPE>
<CODE>
<Item> Occurance 1 to unbounded
<Type>
<QTY>
The file is read but not shown in Message monitoring and SXMB_MONI.
but if i change the cardinality of recordset structure from Header,1,Item,1
I get the file in sxmb_moni but the structure is wrong.
Can any one tell what is wrong ?
Regards,
MonzyMonzy
I dont think there is a Name value pair key called..
<field>.keyFieldName
Check this one..it should be
Key Field Name = TYPE in the content conversion params and these entries in the namevalue pairs
Header.keyFieldValue=H
Item.keyFieldValue=I
Remember to remove the quotes - ' from the Value..The records pciked have to be chked for H not 'H'
Hope this solves ur issue -
Hi All,
IDOC,HTTP,XI adapters reside on the ABAP Stack ,so they cannot be monitored in RWB.
1.So how can we monitor IDOC,HTTP,XI Adapters?
2.Cant we monitor RFC Adapter in RWB ?
3.Can we monitor the XI Adapter in SXMB_MONI?
4.Can we monitor SOAP ,MAIL,JDBC Adapters in RWB and SXMB_MONI?
5.What exactly done in the Support Project?Please explain with the examples.
Thanks in advanceHi Ravi ,
Thanks for the reply.
1) IDOC, HTTP and XI adapter messages can be monitored from SXMB_MONI itself.
IDX5 can be used to monitor IDOC mesages.
How to check whether data is being posted by HTTP or not?
4) We can monitor SOAP ,MAIL,JDBC Adapters in RWB . The audit logs for all the Java based adapters are not accesible from SXMB_MONI, you have to use RWB only.
Can you please tell me how to monitor SOAP,MAIL,JDBC Adapters ?
Thanks in advance. -
Hi All,
this doubt is in my mind for quite some time. I was in Xi before and I was extensively using the monitoring tool SXMB_MONI. I sometimes used the same transaction in my SAP ABAP system to look for messages. Right now I am into a project that uses Gentran - is it because of some authorisation or is it because of some other reason that SXMB_MONI is not used here. Probably, its because we use only IDOCs we are happy with WE02/ 09. Can this also be the reason? I am really curious to explore...
Rgds
DHi Deepti
Tcode SXMB_MONI is used to monitor messages on ABAP stack only not java stack
so you can use this transaction in XI and also in ABAP.
now are you using ABAP on gentran also?
thanks

Hi All,
I got the scenario like JDBC to IDOC scenario.
The message successfully came from Database and in XI also it is successfull in SXMB_MONI. but when check in sap system we05 there is nothing for that day.
can anyone tell me if the message successfull in sxmb_moni. after that what transactions must i check in SAP.
can anyone tell me the monitoring steps from XI to SAP in receiver IDOC scenario.
Kind Regards,
KiranHi Kiran,
Create a RFC destination in XI to Receiver system.
Create a port in XI in transaction IDX1 using the above RFC destination.
Create a port in the receiver system in the WE21 transaction.
Create a partner profile in WE20 in the receiver system
To monitor, see sxmb_moni, IDX5 and SM58 in XI.
In the receiver system, you can see WE02 or WE05 for the IDoc.
See this link also:

Hi
When from a SAP/R3 system I call a BAPI program using the transaction SE37 to SAP XI and the awnser is correct, I can not see in the monitoring transaction (sxmb_moni) of XI the message I sent, but when the execution fail I can.
Can someone tell me why?
And how can I see in the transaction IDX5 the rfc messages?
RegardsHi Gerardo
try this:
Displaying Inbound and Outbound Messages
Choose this option if you want to determine which XML messages entered or exited the RFC adapter according to particular selection criteria. Proceed as follows:
1. Choose RFC Monitor.
2. Select XML messages by specifying a time and date the messages were created, or enter a specific message GUID to determine a specific message to be selected.
3. Choose Inbound and Outbound in the group box RFC (default).
4. Specify your selection criteria in the group box RFC.
Selection Criteria:
Selection Criterion
Entry
Transaction ID
Transaction ID in RFC adapter
System ID
Name of sender or receiver SAP component (for example, BCE)
RFC Destination
Logical destination of original RFC call from sender
Function module
Name of function module called
Client
Client in sender or receiver SAP component
5. Choose Execute.
The system sorts and lists the XML messages according to the time that they were created. Messages that were routed through as RFC calls are listed together and are identified by the same message ID (GUID).
Besides the specified selection criteria, the system also displays the function calls for each LUW (Logical Unit of Work).

Hi All ,
Whats the differance between Message Monitoring using SXMB_MONI and Message Monitoring in RWB .
Whats the use of Transaction Code SXI_MONITOR .
Thnaks ,
hem.Hi Hem,
As per the answers u have got from the above i want to add few points...
RWB---> it is the place where you can monitor the complete message flow. From the time it is picked to the time it is posted. Added to it u have the provision of Channel Monitoring,performance monitoring where you can check the performance(time to execute),End to End Monitoring etc... This really helps in debugging the problems.
where as is in Sxmb_moni you can just see the messages generated in the integration server. messages generated in the adapter engine cannot be viewed in SXMB_MONI or SXI_MONITOR.
you can view the same dynpro as in SXMB_MONI in the RWB.
