Monitors Not Resetting Health After 30 Day Auto Resolution

When we get an alert it is in the console and does send an email. Now after 30 days of this monitor being open (and not returning to a healthy state in which case it would close since most of the monitors auto resolve when they return to healthy state)
it closes as we have the global setting of "Resolve all active alerts in the new resolution state after:". However, the monitor does not return to a healthy state. Is this the way SCOM operates? In which case is their a way to run a "Reset Health"

The resolve all active alers in new resolutio state after XXdays option is just close the active alert and is does not reset the health state of underneath monitor

Try this - Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. (This is equivalent to rebooting your computer.) No data/files will be erased. http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1430

Retention policy not removing items after 14 days?

Hello and good day all.
I hope some one can help with this. I have an Exchange 2013 server and i need to set a Retention policy to delete items from select mailboxes after 14 days. These boxes get automated log emails that are only needed if a problem is reported that day. Otherwise
they are trash. no users check these boxes and so they tend to fill up.
The following was all done in the web interface.
In "Retention tags" screen I have a policy called "14Days" and it is set "Delete and allow Recovery" then period is "In Days" 14
This is then in the "Retention Policy" Screen added to a policy called "2Weeks"
I then added this in "Mailbox Features" screen to the select boxes.
All this done 26 days ago. I figured i need to wait the 14 days for the cycle to come around. However these boxes still have items from September in them. I used a command line to verify the policy is on the mail boxes.
Some items are in the in-boxes and some are in deleted items.

Hello and good morning. The mystery continues.
in event log is have items 9017 saying the work cycle started and there are 14 boxes on this data base. Then i have an event 9018 saying 14 were processed.
Does it matter that I have 4 Mailbox databases? the ones to have this policy are all in a single data base.
There are no other policy's created or defined other then the ones that came with exchange that we don't use.
I created a new policy with a 15 day retention and applied it to a box.
Next i cleared the entire event log and then ran "Start-ManagedFolderAssistant" to force it on
the mailbox.
so then just to check i ran "Get-RetentionPolicyTag
-Identity "15 day retention " | fl"
And it looks okay.

Hi there fellow Apple-ites.
Hoping you can help with this.
After using my current Apple ID (new email address) for about a year for app store and iTunes, find my friends, iPhone (etc) and being able to log into iCloud, my new (this year) MBP has somehow reverted to my old ID (old email address, still same account). I just upgraded to Lion and now iCal tells me it can't connect to iCloud because of a problem with Apple ID, which is my old email address.
I want to be able to log in under my old Apple ID to change it over to my current Apple ID, or somehow unlink from my old Apple ID.
I can't remember the password because it's been ages since I've used it. I have tried to reset but I haven't received the reset emails in the last 2 days. I have checked spam and trash in all email addresses in case it is a different address to the one I thought. I have also checked that I don't have any filters that could delete the email.
I tried the secret questions but I can't get past the birthdate page - says my info is incorrect! I have followed the links from the general support area and checked iCloud system status and everything is normal. I have noticed a lot of people have this problem but that it appears unresolved or they haven't written back on how it has been resolved.
This problem seems too common to warrant a phone call or visit to an Apple store (there is no Apple store in my town either). Anyone have any ideas? I promise I'll respond when/if it resolves! By the way, I'm in Australia.

I linked through and submitted my info as a "topic not covered" in the iCloud section. After entering the serial number of my MBP it turns out I wasn't eligible for technical support (though I don't think this is hardware related support) and the final suggestion was to take my computer into an Apple store. I called my local Apple reseller and asked for assistance. The customer service rep was very nice but unable to help, so suggested I call Apple Support on 1300 321 456. I did so and, again, spoke to two very polite and helpful customer service people (I was transferred to security services). I didn't have to be on hold to speak to either rep for more than a few seconds! After trying a few different things, he worked out what was happening...
So, to cut a long story short, to solve the problem in my OP, all I had to do was log out of iCloud in my System Preferences and log back in using my current Apple ID. [Edited to add that I had to sign out of everything I was currently signed in to with my Apple ID before logging out and in again.]

Monitor not detecting connection after installing TI4200 8X

Attempting install of GForce4 TI4200-VTD8X (MS-8894). Searched through the manual and says it can support 4x agp but when I put it in the computer the monitor cannot detect a connection to computer but behind the message saying so I can make out activity while my computer boots up...the stages of the boot process are noticeable but are moving rapidly from left to right and fast enough to be not able to see. But the main factor is that it says it cant see the computer but there is residual display behind the message saying so. Since I cannot boot the computer to install drivers it must be something else perhaps in the Bios but ive verified its set to 4X AGP (which is max) especially since I was using AGP beforehand. Perhaps there is another setting I might be missing in the Bios?

Cannot even see to boot to safe mode. Only thing that can be seen on the screen is the "cable plugged in?" and behind it the chaos indicating at least some activity. No readable text. Just the changes in the boot process are noticeable from the changes in the "chaos" color behind it. Text is there but its skewed severely and flys from left to right too fast to read. Swapped in prior card and works fine and while there lowered resolution to 640X480. Although the resolution shouldnt matter since the boot process and mem check all have the same behavior.

Monitor new---no signal after 2 days

tonight I was working just fine then when I rebooted to ensure some prefs were not still taking hold it gave me the "no signal" error then goes to sleep.

it states that I should check the video cable but I don't know where that is. Is it the cable that goes from the back of the comp to the electricity?
the computer powers on but without the monitor it does me no good...i am using my laptop to come here for help.

In that case, I have no experience with poweron.com. As for buying a used G4, you're probably aware that resellers of secondhand computers typically buy them in large lots at auction. If you ever saw a pallet of them stacked on their sides (sometimes 5 or 6 high), you'd probably never want to buy the one that was on the bottom. With metal-cased PCs, cosmetic damage is probably not as bad as with the plastic side-paneled G3s and G4s. Scratches on the ice-colored panels of a B&W G3 are noticeable, but not as glaring as ones on the crystal-clear side panels of a G4. If you're not particular about appearance, buying an affordable secondhand Mac from an online merchant is probably the way to go. Many used-computer dealers state something like "has the normal amount of scratches from everyday use." Excluding laptops that get toted around all of the time, most individuals don't scratch their computers in normal usage. The cosmetic damage seen on used computer exteriors was typically caused from rough handling, by the companies that reclaimed them from corporate use. If there are any dealers in your area that sell used Macs, you might want to check them out. If that's not an option for you, I'd press the web merchant for an accurate description of the overall condition of the unit that you'd be buying. If he's reluctant or gives a vague appraisal, consider yourself warned.

Monitor not coming back after suspend

I have an i686 installation and I'm running enlightenment (e16) on it.
I have modified /etc/acpi/handler.sh to contain:

and used visudo to give my user permission to run pm-suspend.
It sleeps fine with either the hal method or the pm-suspend method.
When I hit the power button the computer wakes up but the monitor doesn't come back ever.
I created /etc/pm/sleep.d/02hal as discussed in

but that didn't help.
Does anyone know a fix? Thank you.

I installed kernal26-lts and the monitor comes back on now after a suspend. I guess some how there was a regression in the kernel.

Straighten out your terminology: What is not working? The download or the install? In the latter case install logs may be a start, but you realyl need to tell us a lot more, including some basic system information...

Monitor to detect unexpected shutdowns that will auto-reset in two days - SCOM 2012

I'm new SCOM so may will be doing something stupid here. I'm trying to monitor unexpected shutdowns by creating a monitor for a simple task which will check the System EventLog for event 6008. I want this to reset back to "Green" after
a day, in case we get a power outage so I don't need to manually reset the monitors. When I test for this using Eventcreate and choose a random event ID eg 199 then everything works as expected, the monitor turns red and then goes green after the timer
reset period. I then edited this monitor and changed it to look for 6008 and now it doesn't work. If I create a new unit monitor for simple event detection which also looks for 6008 but with no timer then it does detect the shutdown and change
the colour of the monitor. Even after this the original monitor with the timer still doesn't detect the shutdown, when I look at it in Health Explorer it doesn't see the shutdown at all.

I would like to add a level of complexity regarding the original post. What about the context where we are using VM(s).
Scenario : We have a private cloud environment and users are creating VM(s) like they want to. How can we distinguish the manual shutdowns (Those that are executed from VMM or Hyper-V or from the VM itself) versus the unexpected shutdowns? In other words,
is there a possibility to create a logic to generate alerts when we are dealing with an *unexpected shutdown on a given VM*?
I realize that perhaps, we would have to use the heartbeats but how can we also consider the manual actions (exclude the manual shutdowns)?
Also, talking about heartbeats, can we configure those *automaticly* on each new VM created? If so, how?

I am photo streaming my docs from my macbook air and want to assure they do not get auto deleted after 30 days??

I have a macbook air, and an Iphone 4S, as well as an Ipad 2. I have many pictures that I was just now sending to my "Icloud free 5 gig" I noticed a comment that stated that Photo will delete the oldest files after 30 days so as to manage size?? I don't want to have that happen, I want to put them there and leave them there. I don't want the cloud space deciding which pictures shoudl be dumped. . .
Am I overlooking or misinterpreting something? I mean I am pretty concerned and if that is the case, I want to pull them back down or whatever and have them stay on the individual devices. . .I figured it would be free space that I could delete if I wanted to, not arbitrrarily by a date and some unknown valuating system of measure. . .

No. Be sure you have transferred the entire contents of your old /Home/Music/ folder.
Create a new user account on your old computer. Have your granddaughter tell you what she would like the username to be and what password she wants. Be sure to set the new account with Administrative authority. Then log into this new account and delete your old account.

Sounds like the device was dropped at some point and damaged as a result.
Take it to Apple for evaluation and a replacement.

Ebay is not an official reseller. Return it if you can for a refund.
Basic troubleshooting from the Users Guide is reset, restart, restore (first from backup then as new). Try each of these in order until the issue is resolved.

Auto Empty Folder After 90 days

One of the best things I ever did was to setup a folder in my email that auto empties itself after 90 days. its great to use as a holding place for emails that I need to hold onto for a short period of time, but then want to make go away. shipping confirmations are a great example.
I'm interested in doing the same thing with a desktop folder. I know that time machine and what not gives me recovery options for things I delete, but this is a bit different. This is for items that I want to delete, just not right now. What I'd like it to do is delete items after they've been in the folder for some specified period of time, like 60 or 90 days.

There's no easy way to do that. You'd have to create a script that would scan the contents of a folder and move anything older than 90 days to the trash. And you'd have to set up a way to run that script repeatedly, on an automated basis. Someone may have created third-party software to do this, though I'm not familiar with it.
I'd say that you probably don't need that. Just delete the items, and if your Time Machine backup drive is large enough, they'll stay in the backup for a long time, easily longer than 90 days. No need for such a temporary repository!
