Mono Audio signal: adjustment of the balance not possible

Dear all,
according to the IOS 5.0 User Guide, "Mono Audio" can be used to combine the left and right stereo channels into a mono signal played through both channels which works as expected.
In addition it should be possible to adjust the balance of the mono(!) signal for greater volume on the right or left. This would be very beneficial for me and others with a hearing loss at one ear, but doesn't work on my iPhone 4 as expected. It seems, that the balance setting is only effective in the 'Stereo' mode.
Any suggestions on how I can get this feature working on my iPhone are highly welcome.

Bug Report: Audio Signal breaks off, chopped, muted, not playing, stop, cut

This behaviour happens very seldom and by chance, so I had this once with a Space Designer Reverb and now it's happening with a Softsynth. Please listen to this short mp3:

The first piano exactly plays how it is intended: Over the complete length. now i copy this midi block in the arrange window behind it. and another piece again behind the next one. the last two ones play shorter though it is the same lenght!
keep in mind: no automation, any sent midi data commands or sysex behaviour, no overlapping (midi data length is set manually shorter than it's "shell") of audio or midi data is interfering to create this "phenomenon".
For the example of the Space Designer Reverb: Imagine an Audio signal flowing through a Space Designer, which creates a tail of reverb. Now think of the audio signal on this channel completely dissappearing for 1 second at the middle part - it seems, if someone just has chopped some piece out of the audio signal: the reverb continues with it's natural fade out to the end.
same "keep in mind" criteria for the space designer.
Anyone else experiancing "audio cutting", "muting" or "stopping midi data"? This is definately some kind of strange bug.

Well, unless you're using Steinberg 'The Grand' as your softsynth piano it's probably no bug but sth else. Does it happen in solo mode, too ?
( For troubleshooting, it always makes sense to list your audio equipment / drivers and your macs specs in your profile; or at least within your posting, so people have the chance to be helpful. In short : more details, please ... )

How can you segment an audio signal according to the pitch periods?

i was wondering if someone could give me some pointers as to how can i segment a sound signal according to the pitch periods present in the signal.i have already estimated the pitch periods and i want now to segment the signal according to those periods and multiply them by a uniform windowing function of twice the segment's length

I would highly recommend that you search our Forums and Developer Zone to look for additional help. If you are not able to find any information, you can post your VI and we should be able to troubleshoot the issue.

Camera sen in max, snaps in the vi not possible

Hi,
I have a slightly different question, my camera is seen in MAX and
works fine, but it's impossible to snap any pictures in a simple vi. I
changed already all the parameters, nothing happens. There must be
something wrong with this vi. But there isn't any error message.
Who can help me?

first good that it is working in MAX
Ok, first thing you should try is delete trigger and shutter elements from your VI. Is it then working? When it is working then reduce shutter value.

Adjusting multiple mono audio tracks with the Audio Mixer

Anybody know how to adjust multiple mono audio tracks simultaneously with the audio mixer? If your tracks are stereo, one fader will control two faders or audio tracks. Suppose you have 6 mono audio tracks and don't want to pull down each fader separately. Is there a way to pull down one fader and have the others locked to it, or controlled by it?

Not with the sliders, but you can adjust levels with ctrl [ and ctrl ] (I think, not at fcp right now).
The autoselect buttons (to the right of the lock icons, at the head of the timeline) tell fcp which track to adjust...

Does MacBook Air A1370 provide us with a USB audio signal?

I am a user of an 11-inch MacBook Air A1370 with OS X 1.7.5. To my mac, I want to connect my USB audio device, GoVibe XVert that converts USB audio signal to S/PDIF signal either of coaxial or light. The "radio" in The iTune on my mac shows me the BBC 3 station. What I want to do is to apply the BBC digital music signal direct to my pure digital power amplifier by connecting the converter to the amplifier. But I failed. No sound from the speakers at all even the very converter works for a Windows 7 PC.
Is my usage wrong while Mac outputs a USB audio signal? Or, the Macs of my type provide no USB audio signal as its specification?
Please help me.

The problem was solved. Just select a device for sound output from "Internal Speakers" to "Ti USB audio" that is the converter.

What computer operating system is your Premiere Elements 12 running on? Have you updated 12 to 12.1 Update using an opened project's Help Menu/Update? If not, please do so.
For your immediate issue, have you update the Online Services in preferences?
Where are you in the program when you get the message "Not possible to initialize on-line services".
Are you in a country outside of the USA?
There certain online services that are just not available outside the USA.
Please review and consider and then, based on your details, we will consider what next.

Third Party Order - Not possible to determine a consumption account

Hi All,
I know there are a number of threads on this subject but the answer for me doesn't seem to be here.
The scenario I am trying to configure is around buying and selling software licenses using a Third Party Sales Order process (Item Cat TAS).
My material is set up as a DIEN with and Account Assignment Group of BANS and a Valuation Class of 3200 (service). I'm assuming that as the license key is a notional concept rather than a physical stocked item as such - a service is the more appropriate material type but maybe I'm wrong?
I have entered two entries using transaction OBYC (Maintain FI Configuration: Automatic Posting - Accounts) for Transaction Key GBB:
i) General Modification = blank
ii) General Modification = 'AUF'
... but this made no difference.
Can anyone advise how to resolve this issue please?
As an aside I am not sure how you ever know what entries are required in this table - how can you tell what General Modification values are relevant to any given scenario?

Hi Raja - yes this was useful but I am still having difficulties.
OK - So I can see from your notes that the Account Modifier that I was looking for was VAX associated with the Account Assigment Group of 'X' - good so I fixed the OBYC - GBB table to ensure I has a VAX - 3200 entry for consumption and it worked - great! BUT ...
I then wanted to get it so that my PO would create automatically so I:
i) Set the Auto PO on the Item Category
ii) Set the ALE paramenters asociated with the Sales Org definition
iii) Set the Auto PO on the Vendor Master
but that didn't work
I wanted to set the AUTO PO on the material master but as my MM was a DIEN this option was not available to me so I created another material that was NLAG (non-stocked) and tried again - this time I marked the Auto PO on material as well but it still didn't work because I am now geti8ng the message "Not possible to determine a consumption account" - Aaaarrrggghhhhh!!!
Everything else remains unchanged - BANS - CS etc.
Any ideas?

Hi Friend,
Check the posting periods for the company code in OB62 and OMSY.
Check whether they are in currenct date or not.
if not maintain them in MMPV for Company code.and OB62 for the fiscal year variant.

and i tried to assign in OBYC with 0001, GBB, Trading account G/L , Debit , Credi A/c still the problem persists.looking for some inputs

I am now confused about what is your error because based on the error only soln can be given
Now i assume that error Not possible to determine consumption account is still on with all schedule line category settings correctly maintained
Then do this
IMG-Materials ManagementPurchasing-Account Assignment----Maintain Account Assignment Categories
Here choose X and go to its details and make sure that following values are maintained
1.Consumption posting as V
2.Account modification as VAX (these are standard settings)
Now in OMWD check what is the grouping code maintained against your plant say 0001 or 0002 like that
We will take 0001
Check the valuation class maintained for your material in MMR accounting view like 3100 or 3200 etc
We will take 3100
Now in OBYC double click GBB give your chart of accounts and then enter
Then for the combination 0001-VAX-3100 maintain necessary debit and credit accounts
This account gets picked as consumption account in the PR which is getting generated
I have run this scenario now and able to create a PR without any problem upon saving the sales order

in bsp_wd_cmpwb for the enhanced component gs_jobmonitor I am not able to lock the runtime repository and I get the error:
Not possible to lock runtime repository
Message no. BSP_WD_TOOLS216
Diagnosis
You can only lock and edit runtime repositories that are saved statically in a BSP page. This means that the page may not contain dynamic elements, such as ABAP source code or page includes. Dynamic BSP pages must be loaded via HTTP and cannot be locked or edited.
It is also not possible to lock or edit runtime repositories that are only referenced as a URL or that are in the MIME repository.

How can I solve this problem? I have already seen threads in http://forums.sdn.sap.com/thread.jspa?threadID=1948329 and sap notes like 1437186: is this the case and do I have to modify the standard Repository.xml in se80? (I have upgraded my system and I need to edit the repository in order to solve inconsistencies between the standard repository and the enhanced repository).

We have modified in se80 the Repository.xml file for BSP Application ZGS_JOBMONITOR deleting all <% %> lines (also <%-- --%>), then we were able to lock the enhanced repository for component GS_JOBMONITOR in BSP_WD_CMPWB and make our adjustments. At the end we have restored the abap statements again in Repository.xml.

I too am experiencing this issue after upgrading to Mavericks. Headphone audio balance seems to always stick to the far right. When moved to the center, it still only outputs sound to the right side. I have to constantly adjust the setting a little to the left of center for both sides to output sound equally.

Sample rate off the audio input and out devices do not match - what to do?

This is fundamental, I know, but nevertheless I can't find my way around it. I get this error message when trying to recor:

and am asked to do this:
Use the appropriate operating system or audio device control panel to adjust the sample rates of the input and output devices to use the same settingt.
I have defined the sample rate to 44.1/16 bit in accordance with my inbuild soundcardt.
I am trying to record from LineIn.
When running on a M-Audio sound card I don't face any problems.

You're sure you have set BOTH the input and output settings to 44.1 16 bit?
Which version of Windows are you running? There are a number of posts on this forum about how to fully access both the Windows Mixer and the Mixer for your soundcard. Especially, you need to ensure that all "Windows Sounds" are turned OFF.

What I'm looking to do is to have self powered in ceiling speakers in every room in my house with out having to run wires to every room to carry the audio signal. I would like to use the airport express to do the job of carting the audio signal.
Here's my set up now I have an airport extreme and one airport express that I use to carry audio to one room.

FWIW. I have used up to four AirPort Express Base Stations (AX) for streaming sucessfully in pretty much the way you have described. I didn't have a need to try more so I can't attest that more would or would not work.
