Mono input-stereo fx

I created a mono input with guitar amp inserted. I want to hear the guitar thru a stereo chorus. If I make a stereo input for the guitar, the guitar comes thru on 1 channel whilre the fx are stereo. How do I set this up?

Hey,
3 ways to create it!
1) Online/Realtime:~ means, get a Multieffects or Guitar Amp that have 2 Output and 2 of the output record through and Audio interface (something like M-Audio Mobile Pre -USB).after recorded, pan the 2 tracks to Hard Left and Right!
2) Record an single input Chorus effects tracks, copy the track and drag the copy's track further 2-3 ms and Hard pan the 2 tracks to Left and Right!
3) is what our buddy recommended add the Stereo Plugin effects!
Done.

  • Input mono or stereo ?

    Hi there,
I just bought a Saffire Pro 40 audio interface.
The salesman say I should set the input source of the 8 vocal singers to all mono.
But when I came back I saw that in the input source of track 1, there is a settings for 1/2 stereo.
Why did the salesman ask me to record in mono rather than stereo ?
    Thanks
    Best regards,

In short, a single voice is a mono source. If each voice has their own microphone then each should be recorded in mono. If you have many voices but only 1 mcrophone, then you may have different dynamics coming from different sides of the room. If you were standing in front of the group you would be getting different types of information from left and right sides. A stereo recording would capture this information better.
Check this article out http://www.audiorecording.me/recording-vocals-at-home-in-mono-or-stereo-how-to-r ecord-vocals-properly.html
Lol... its late... just read the article and you should be good.

  • 1820m Stereo inputs split into mono inputs?

    Hi,
I want to split the stereo inputs of my 1820m into mono inputs so I can record multi-tracks on Cubase. Is this possible?
    Thanks in advance.

When you set up a strip in PatchMix, it is seen from inside Cubase as a stereo ASIO channel regardless of whether you use both inputs. Pan one hard to the left, the other hard to the right, and then work out your VST connections in Cubase, and route (say) the one you panned hard left to a mono Cubase channel's input, and the one you panned hard right to a second mono channel etc., then you can record each input signal onto different tracks.

  • T60 Microphone input: Stereo? Mono? Phantom power?

    Hello,
Does anyone understand the T60 mic input. It seems to me that it a mono input, but if you plug a stereo cable in it, the middle ring on the cable actually gives a 5 volt reading if you put a volt meter across the middle ring and ground. Is this possibly some sort of phantom power and wouldn't this be shorted out if you plugged a mono plug into it? I would think that shorting a power source would be a bad thing.
    Thanks for anyone's help,
    John

It's a mono input, and it is worthless in my opinion.  The 5 folts is probably spurious, and shouldn't be there.  If you have tried to record direct from this input, you will probably hear a load of noise in the recording.
At least, that's what I get on mine. Really made me angry, as I had to buy a Soundblaster add-on card to get decent recording.
Phantom power is generally a lot higher than 5 volts, but a lot of things in computers run on 5 volts.

  • Is MBP optical input stereo?

Hello. I'm a newb when it comes to digital/optical audio and TOSLINK cables. I've got a digital recording interface that has an optical TOSLINK output. The device has two separate preamps/channels and I would like to record them simultaneously into my MBP, yet record each of them to independent tracks in Logic Pro.
My question is, is the optical signal MONO or STEREO? The device I'm using is a Korg TP-2, and I can't seem to find any info on if its a stereo output signal.
I have used a mixing board and the audio input on my mac(s) in the past to record two separate channels by panning the channels (1) LEFT and (2) RIGHT.
I would love it if I could do something similar with this device. If its just a blended MONO signal, I couldn't see investing in a TOSLINK cable and suitable adapter.
    THANKS

Ok, I understand what you were saying about the two rings ON the connector. I wont be dealing with RCA cables anyway.
So one Toslink cable and a MiniJack adapter is all I need. And am I correct to assume then, that the MiniJack connector need not be "stereo" because it is a digital transfer and all the needed info will be transmitted? It will appear to resemble a mono Mini jack end?

The audio sockets used on the slot cover of Sound Blaster cards accept (/8-inch) miniplugs.

Line-In is stereo. Mic-In is mono.

  • Master mono or stereo

I noticed, opening a new session in 6 tonight, that it says the master is mono.  Shouldn't the master be stereo by default?
Next question: how do you know whether a given track in Multitrack is mono or stereo?  I don't see that information in the clip information window.

Damn I think I tend to get lots of them 'idiot tracks' - just depends on the clients that come through the door
    Could it be Individual/Dual Input/Output Track (i.d.i.o.t)??
@ therealdobro: But seriously - check where you have routed the master channel - maybe you sent it to a mono outout?

  • Two mono inputs

I'm using a Blue Yeti USB microphone and am recording vocals in mono.  I see two different mono inputs in the multitrack editor:
    [01M] Microphone (4 - Yeti Stereo Microphone) 1
    [02M] Microphone (4 - Yeti Stereo Microphone) 2
Why are there two and what is the difference between the two?  Which one should I be recording with and why?
    Thanks,
    Mike

Yeah, I have no trouble recording in mono.  My question is what is the difference between:
    [01M] Microphone (4 - Yeti Stereo Microphone) 1
    [02M] Microphone (4 - Yeti Stereo Microphone) 2
Both record in mono and I have no trouble recording with either of those two selected mono inputs in multitrack.  I just want to know if one is better than the other or not, and why.
    Thanks,
    Mike

  • Change Mixdown from Mono to Stereo

I'm sorry if this has come up previously but I coudn't find anything that exactly related to my situation.
First let me say I bought CS5.5 about two years ago and after trying it a few times, I found I did not like all the "missing functions like Group Tracks and the fact that it seemed to work slower than my old 1.5.
Recently I decided to give it another try and be  patient. I had to assembe two VOs with SFX and various production music beds. When I was happy with the mix, I was ready to do a mixdown...only to discover that my mixdown was in Mono. Mono? I tried to find where to convert it to stereo. After searching help and then this forum, it appears that there is no way to choose Strero or Momo....except apparently only when initially naming the Multitrack session. SAY IT AIN'T SO!!!    Does this mean I have to start all over with a new session file and spend all that time again?   If this is so, WHY would they remove the option to mixdown in Mono OR Stereo which seem so common sense and was an option in previous Audition versions.  I never understood software developers who seem to want to take away functions that worked.
Am I wrong? Is there any way to choose or change a mixdown in a session? I like choice. Choice is good.
    Cheers
    RoosterKoop Ken

For clarity's sake, a stereo track with audio on one side is still a stereo track, not a mono track.  So you're not really changing mono to stereo, you're just routing the active channel to fill both left and right sides.  There are a number of ways to do that.  I like #3 myself.

  • How can I input stereo audio to a iMac late 2012?

I can't wee where I can input stereo audio to my iMac (lat 2012) so that I can save the digitized audio to the music library.

I have one of these (iMic)... Sometimes I need to get a song off of a cassette and this does the job.
USB Audio Interface: iMic lets Mac and PC users add stereo input and output to USB computers — even computers that lack audio-in or -out ports.

  • Are iPad and iPhone built in microphones mono or stereo?

    That's my question.

He assumed that you were hoping the mic would be stereo. As I said, though, for most use cases, a mono mic is just fine (or even better). What use do you have in mind. The only situation in which a stereo mic would be better is if you're going to record a stage or room full of musicians playing. If you're recording voice memos, or even recording yourself playing a single instrument, a stereo mic is unnecessary.
That said, we still haven't completely resolved whether the built-in mic is mono or stereo. The tech specs on apple.com don't specify, but I am 99.9% certain that it is mono.

  • Mono to stereo converter for 6600

    Hey guys,
Does anyone have any clue how to convert music output from mono to stereo in the nokia 6600?
    Thanks,
I need a reply soon plz!!!
    Thanx

It is a physical impossibility. If there is only one line out signal, you can't convert it to two with any converter (software or hardware).
If you really must have stereo output, then you need a new phone.

  • Change between mono- and stereo-sound

My question is if there is any way to change between mono and stereo sound on the ipod nano 3th generation...?
    Thanks for help!

Are you not getting stereo? What are you listening with - maybe there's a plug problem...
Does it sound like stereo from iTunes?

  • Converted mono to stereo

I converted a left channel recording from imovie hd to both channels using quicktime. Now the audio track is way to long even though the size is the same. Format: Linear PCM Channels: Mono Rate: 48 (the rate decreases the size but it doesn't matter). Any ideas how to keep the audio the same length.

I can't reproduce the problem with "Save as..." again, so the tracks switched from mono to stereo somewhere between the time I recorded them and by the time I was done tweaking their EQ and compression settings. I don't know how to delete or edit my discussion question above, sorry!

  • Mono vs. stereo, answer to random resets?

i read elsewhere on the forums that if you have mono recorded songs it causes you ipod to crash. this is the problem im currently having, where it crashes randomnly as its shuffling through songs.
so how can i determine which songs are mono so i can get rid of them and see if this fixes my problem?

Honestly, it doesn't matter whether the song is mono or stereo for whether it will play or not, just to how it sounds. Is it just certain songs or does it do it completely randomly? If it is certain songs, then you have to remove those songs and reformat them so they are in a proper format. If it isn't that particular ones, then you have a corrupt iPod Control file on your iPod and you'll have to do a reformat. If you don't want to lose all your music because you don't have proper backups of it, there are a few ways around it. But before I get into that, let me know what you discover about which songs it is.
