Monster Commerce Browser Conflict

I just got my Curve to use with my Ecommerce site that is a Monster Commerce Shopping Cart. When I go to the Administrator Panel, it will only display the upper portion of the admin panel which stops at the Store Admin Menu. It will not give me the lower portion which contains all the Order, Inventory and Customer Summary along with the rest of the lower half of the page. This had worked on my Palm so I am a little confused. I contacted Monster and the Tech had never heard of the issue and said it probably was an issue with the Blackberry Browser. So I would like to know if there is a fix or that I need to download a different Browser that would be compatable to my Ecommerce Site.

Try changing the BlackBerry Browser emulation mode to IE or something else. Just because it worked on your Palm does not gaurentee it will work on the BlackBerry.

I'd like to add a bit on this message, because it is indeed possible to access the http://download.browser.ovi.com address from within nokia chat the next way (just it was not very clear from the post for me what needs to be done):
- start Nokia Chat (Messaging->More->Chat) and sign in with your chat account (Create chat account if neccessary)
- start a new conversation with anyone (a non-existing address will do as well)
- enter the download address (http://download.browser.ovi.com) to the message area and send the message.
- the message will appear with the download address shown as a link. Select the download address in the message. The phone starts the browser and redirects to the download page.
- download and install the browser. Hopefully this fixes the conflicting applications problem for you.

Catalogue vs Browser conflict

I am trying to work how i can use LR for my processing, but allow the rest of my family to pick photos off windows explorer when they need a photo for something, like homework. I don't think it is realisitic to ask my children and wife to use LR although in theory I can put everythging on a network drive and everyone share it. However the catalogue approach menas the file they see in windows explorer or any other browser is the original and doesn't have any of the changes made to it. does anyone have any suggestions how to get round this? Options I have consdiered are:
1. Export all files I have edited as JPEGs to a seperate location. Solves the problem, but significantly increases storage as well as having to remember to do it!
2. Is there any function in LR to force an overwrite of the original file or that just not possible? Many of the the every day photos I take, like kids birthdays, get edited once and then that's it. I have no interest in keeping the originals. This would be great, but I haven't found it.
3. Is converting everything to DNG a possibilty? I know little about this. I tried exporting a RAW file as a DNG with a JPEG preview, but that doesn't show up in explorer which I thought it would. Am I missing something e.g. CODEC on my pc as my icons are just a Camera with PSD rather than an image? I tried exporting a 16Mb RAW file as compressed DNG and got one 10MB, then a 4MB JPEG and got 12MB!!!! Even if this works it seems to be creating a lot of extra storage for no particular reason. Is the RAW file smaller becuase the JPEG has to first be uncompressed and DNG compression isn't as aggressive?

With the latest version of Camera Raw PSE5 will automatically read the develop information added to the XMP sidecars for RAW files on import. There is a command "Edit/Update Thumbnails" in PSE5 that will update develop settings in PSE5 if need be by reading the XMP sidecars files changed in Lightroom or PSE Camera RAW. I have never tried it but I think it will do the same thing for develop settings embedded in non RAW files metadata. You can configure Lightroom in "Catalog Settings/Metadata/Include develop settings in metadata inside Jpeg, Tiff, and PSD files" and PSE should be able to read those files. However, only those with PSE5 or 6 and the proper Camera RAW will pick up those changes. You will need to export to a new file for things like sending them in email. There's no way to get around that.
I'll tell you what I would do in your situation. I would use a simpler application (Picasa or Vista/Windows Live Photo Gallery, for example) to manage my overall (those that don't need editing or that have been edited) files using keywords and would use Lightroom to manage and process RAW and those non RAW that need to be edited adding keywords only on export. It's not perfect, but there is no easy, simple way to do everything you want.

There was two options for changing the JSP pages.
1. Go the installation directory /usr/sap/systemname/installationname/j2ee/cluster/server0/apps/sap.com in that path u can find out the application crm~b2b there in the root folder all the JSP pages are available.Go the respective page and change accordingly.
2. You need create the Enterprise Application in NWDS and import all the source and prepare the ear file and deploy it from NWDS. For deploying the application you required the SDM user Id and passowrd.
Please check with ur basis team then can provide u the required credentials.

Browser Conflicts

From my mac computer I have been testing my iweb site in various browsers: safari and firefox. Noticing that the site looks absolutely perfect in these two browsers. However, testing it on my windows computer within Internet Explorer - it looks absolutely horrendous!!! In IE the fonts have changed from book antiqua and garamond to arial and all links in menu bars are 13 pt. instead of 16 pt. Colors are different and worst of all, the images are highly saturated and horribly dark!!!
Is this problem due in part to iweb 08? Is so, what can be done to remedied? I hope the problem isn't too complex, otherwise I'll just have to inform my visitors to use Safari or Firefox browsers when viewing my site. Hate to have to change my entire site on account of dinosaur IE. Too bad really because I've heard most people use IE - hence, I'm relying on the appearance of my site and art products in order to make sales.

I visited your site and found it most informative. Today I need to completely redo my site (8 months of work) and make it more browser compatible for IE. It makes me so mad that I need to do this because the site is perfect in Safari and Firefox.
But moving onward:
There is an issue that I couldn't find in your site about iweb and IE browser regarding dark images and other issues. Hence, because all my images are highly saturated and dark, I will now have to delete every single one (83) and begin afresh. Therefore, I am going to reopen all psd files and try a different way of uploading my images to iweb. I will also have to delete all my images and start over in my shopcart! Furthermore, I will make sure that the iweb preferences>optimize images box is unchecked (unfortunately all this time it had been checked).
Previously I was opening my images direct from digital camera and within Photoshop CS I was doing as follows:
In photoshop>Image Mode>Assign Profile
Assign Profile: Working RGB: Adobe RGB (1998)
After editing my images, I would then SAVE FOR WEB. And within this: I would save the image in JPEG with Optimize box checked and quality 60. Then in preset: JPEG HIGH ...Image Size: 750px; Quality: bicubic. Then click save and then this image would be placed onto my iweb page.
Now, what am I doing wrong to create such horrid images in iweb? I thought by using Save For Web in photoshop this would be sufficient. Also, I should mention about Photoshop Color Settings (Note: probably only has to do with printing but just curious if it effects web images). Here goes:
Custom Settings and my working space is RGB: Adobe RGB (1998); Color Management Policies are RGB: Preserve Embedded Profiles; same applies to CMYK and gray.
I check the box - Use black Point Compensation including checking box - use dither.
In Advanced Controls
I left the boxes unchecked but have desaturated monitors colors by: 20%
Blend RGB Colors using gamma: 1.00
Am I using the wrong assign profile settings? Also, is there a way to make changes to vast images within photoshop CS all at one time if possible?

Updates to stop browser conflicts

I have just completed a new redesign of a site LockSmart 24hr locksmith - everything was fine till firefox released a new version and now my text and some images do not align - i know this is a age old theme but is there no way to be able to install updates for DW to overide this problem - or am i doing something wrong???

If I hadn't seen David's warning, I would have jumped out of my seat and also woken the whole household when loading your page (it's nearly mid-night here). A warning should be given if there is auto start video on any site you link to :-)
I didn't see any problems viewing the entry page using Firefox 3.0.12. However, there are quite a few validation errors on the page that need to be corrected.
Viewing the Home Smart page, I did see in the opening paragraph, a line of text superimposed upon another line... again lots of validation errors that need correcting.

A lot of these errors can be fixed immediately by changing the doctype to a less strict one. Easily done by:
File Menu>Convert>HTML 4.01 Transitional (or even the XHTML Transitional if you prefer).
Using a Strict doctype means that you have to work extra hard to ensure that you have no syntax errors and that the content is separated from the styling of the page (that is - no inline or deprecated styles alllowed).
Fix those issues and then check where the pages stand.

Drop down nav browser conflicts

Hi, I've been using images to create the nav for this website
because the artist that asked me to do it wants the images. I got
it working in IE, but then went back to Firefox and Safari and it
disappears when I roll down. Not sure if it's the div that contains
it, or the image maps on the rollover image. I'm so close to

[SLVD] MySQL Query Browser (1.2.12) hangs when changing schma/database

After a rather big upgrade yesterday (see paste below) I have got a problem with MySQL query browser which is found in package mysql-gui-tools. Everything else seems to be okay, but after upgrading mysql-gui-tools from 5.0r12-3 to 5.0r14-1 (..and now, after another update, its at 5.0r14-2) it is no longer able to refresh schema/databases. Every time I try to change/refresh schema in the schema menu to the right the program hangs and I have to kill it. A refresh icon appears as normal to the left of the schema I'm trying to refresh, but that icon too has frozen. I am however able to execute normal SELECT queries etc if I write the full "path" to the table in the SQL query, but when I try a USE query the same thing happens.
I have done some searching on the Internet about this and found this thread to be interesting. Too bad it's from July 2007..
I tried to downgrade to the old version of query browser, but then I got this problem:
/usr/bin/mysql-query-browser-bin: error while loading shared libraries: libmysqlclient_r.so.15: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
..So I guess theres a dependency problem here with the old version.
Has anyone else got any problem with the MySQL Query Browser after upgrade or has any ideas for a solution?

I found the error on this. In the current PGKBUILD found in AUR, the patch mysql-gui-tools.chema_change_freeze_bug.patch is no longer applied.
I downloaded all related files to this package and built it myself now, with some changes to PGKBUILD and the mysql-gui-tools.chema_change_freeze_bug.patch. It works again :-)

Showing conflicting application on Nokia C2-02

I can't log onto Comcast because of my Safari browser

Greetings:
Comcast has updated its site and suddenly won't recognize my Safari browser 5.0.6. It has effectively shut out many of us with Safari browsers. Can I download a new browser? I have an iMac Leopard OS 10.5.8. Will the new browser conflict with my OS?

Although I prefer Firefox, I just used Safari to access Comcast to try it - it worked flawlessly and I'm not sure why you'd think that there are "many of us" not being able to access the Comcast website. There must be some glitch in your system; please follow rkaufmann's suggestion. Alternately, you can always use a different browser.

HTML formatted properly? Images too large?

I am very interested in iWeb but I am seeing some small problems. Websites created with iWeb seem to have format issues. When I submit the pages to Doctor html I get:
There were xxxx unset image command tags that you should set to improve your overall web page performance.
Size and alt text for pictures doesn't seem to be included when iWeb formats pictures.
There are xxx browser support conflicts in your document.
The browsers conflicts can be from 15-20 conflicts. All versions of Netscape in particular are effected.
In addition the average sites tend to be slow loading because the pictures are huge and uncompressed.

Maybe in the next incarnations of the program there will be something to assist the user to optimize their graphics, perhaps by opening them in iPhoto or the app of your choice.
Photoshop Elements has one of the friendliest interfaces for slimming down graphics. It shows you the effects of your compression, allowing you to compress the file to the smallest integer before it starts looking bad. It is amazing how much smaller you can make your graphics without a noticeable loss in web quality.
There almost should be a warning when graphics are over 40k in size.
I watched Steve Jobs use this program in his keynote and got very excited. Besides the minor glitches mentioned in my first post, this program looks dirt-easy to use with gorgeous results. For myself, I would probably go into the source and add the missing codes to optimize my site.
Missing the size elements in the image tag makes the page open more slowly as the browser has to calculate the size of the graphics and move text around to fit. With the image size tags in place the browser immediately assigns that amount of space to the graphic and loads the rest of the page more quickly so you see more sooner.
The alt tag provides a name for the picture in case the site is loaded without graphics. Not a really major problem to leave it out.
The browser conflicts may be more of an issue. Netscape and Mozilla may not render the pages as expected. When I get into work I will check out these pages in Netscape 7.

Space Bar Hand Move & CMD-Space Zoom Not Working-CS5

Today, all of a sudden, two of my most used functions—holding down the space bar to move the image around and holding down CMD-space bar to zoom—just up and quit on me (I do like the "Scrubby" but it took a little getting used to. It's very touch screen-esque).
I did all of the normal trouble shooting such as deleting the prefs, relaunching, restarting, etc. Nothing. The functions work fine in the other CS5 programs.
Anybody else come across this? I checked through all of the prefs thinking that perhaps I accidentally changed something but I couldn't find anything. If all else fails, I'll do an uninstall/reinstall but only as a last resort.
I did notice that Adobe finally fixed the Distort (in Full Screen Mode) bug that was killing me in CS4.

I don't believe it but I think that I finally found the culprit: hulu (the desktop app, not through a browser).
To make sure, I rebooted, launched PS, Flash, and InDesign, and then fired up every app that I could think of, one by one, testing each time, leaving hulu for last. Sure enough, it was not until I got to hulu that the space bar hand/zpom stopped working. And then I went one by one, quitting each app, testing each time, again leaving hulu till the last. Sure enough again, the space bar continued not working until I quit hulu, the very last app that I had running (aside from CS5 and system processes).
Please, please do not tell me that there is a conflict between CS5 and hulu's utilization of Flash! That would just make Mad Dog Jobs' a happy camper. (I am a big supporter of Flash on the iPad).
What a relief. Except how am I now going to watch my TV shows while working???
In regards to browser conflicts, I have had none with Safari, Firefox, or Chrome.

Portal 902. Uploaded document differs from downloaded document.

We are currently trying to set-up a portlet, which would include items (documents, images etc.). The problem we faced in that process is related to portal's storing process. We uploaded a pdf-file (Java API Guide from otn.oracle.com) as a simple file. Then, attempting to open the same file from portal, we got different errors: "the file is damaged and could not be repaired", "error reading xref entry" etc. Since these errors refer to acrobat reader and browser conflict we turned that "open in browser" option off in Adobe Acrobat. After this, the situation did not improve. Still, it was possible to download the document from the portal as a file. We downloaded the file and made a binary comparison. The result was quite intereseting since the size of both (uploaded to portal and downloaded from portal) was the same (210 Kb) but the content was different. I will add also a excerpt from that downloaded file that differed from the initial file. How could we avoid similar problems in the future? Thank you.

I am having the exact same problem on 10.1.4. I have a pdf on my desktop which opens fine in Acrobat reader (v 7.0). I upload it to my portal page as a file and when I click on the link I get the "this file is damaged and cannot be repaired" message. I downloaded the portal version of the PDF and an extra 66 bytes had been added to it.
I only get this in my live environment as the file uploaded OK in user test. I have uploaded other PDF files and they can be viewed OK.
Has anyone come across and fixed this in the six years since the original post?
