Dear all,
I just synced my iphone 3g calendar with Microsoft Outlook Calendar. the problem is that in the Month View of the Iphone 3g calendar, all days have dots including those days that do not have calendar entries. Is there a way to fix this?
Thanks a lot.

  • IOS 7 Calendar on iPad I cannot go from month view to day view. When I tap on the day of the month nothing happens.

I use to be able to look at my month in the month view and when I wanted to make an appointment for a specific day I just tapped that day and it would open up the day and I could add my appointment to the time slot I wanted. Now when I am in month view and I tap on the day I want to make an appointment it does nothing. If I hold my finger on the day it creates an All Day event which is not what I want to do and even if I add a start time to the event, I don't know what times I have available on that day because the Day view hasn't opened. This is extremely frustrating. On my iphone it works properly...I can go from month view to day view by tapping on the day I want to view. Why can't I do this on my iPad?? If I could go back to ios 6 I would, calendar is not impressive at all!!
Please help with any suggestions or PLEASE APPLE.....FIX THIS!!!

I just tested, and this unfortunately still seems to be a bug in the latest iOS 7.1 release of the Calendar on the iPad, which is too bad since the release notes suggest that this iOS update included both bug fixes and enhancements to the Calendar.
To my knowledge the bug has never been an issue on the iPhone version of the Calendar which behaves exactly as you would expect it should.
It seems inconcievable given the obvious broken-ness of the current behavior coupled with what I would expect is a massive number of people who use the Calendar on the iPad, but is it possible that this bug isn't on Apple's radar?
I'm happy to submit a bug report; does anyone know offhand the process for how the public can report bugs?
This has been persistent in the product for nearly six months; it's well overdue that this bug be squashed.

  • Calendar from month view to day view

    Hi,
why isn't it possible (like on my iPhone) if I'm in the month view to tip on a specific day and see this day in the day view?
I adressed this already at the Apple Feedback page but it seems to be thaat even in iOS 7.1 it has not made into the finals - or am I doing it just wrong?
    Cheers
    Joerg

I share your frustration Joerg - when I switch from MONTH view to DAY view, I seem to end up on a random day rather than the day I'm trying to choose.
My 'workaround' is to double-click on the chosen day to create a New Event, then click across to Day view, then hit erase o get rid of the unwanted new event.  Surely there must be a better way?
    Cheers

  • Outlook - Calendar: all days have the dot marking appoinments

I sync from Outlook and i the iPod all days appear with the dot marking that there are appointements, and there are not.
    Any ideas???

Hi Boneart - I feel for you.
I too have the same issue (Feb 2014) which I have just discovered today as I am not a strong user of all-day events, until today when I tried to schedule annual holidays in my diary.  I can confirm the EXACT SAME issues that you have described with all-day events displacing 24 hrs EARLY for sync Outlook to iOS calendar, and all-day events displaced 24hrs LATE for sync iOS calendar to Outlook.  I also confirm that the issue does not exist for specified time appointments, as you also found.
I note from several other discussion threads that Apple have previously focussed on an issue of all-day events syncing to span 2-days; that is not yet apparent in my situation  BUT I will be watching with interest whether a subsequent synchronisation causes the displaced dates to also synchronise back providing the same event apparently spanning 2 days but ACTUALLY existing as two events with identical properties on successive days.
One oddity is that I also operate in the NZ time zone; I wonder if that is significant???
For a brief period I trialled iCloud with a thrid-party patch to resolve the native iCloud issue of not providing 2-way synch with Outlook.  That worked beautifully ... until Apple provided an update to the iCloud interface which destroyed all functionality for me.  I'm back to hard-wire sync via USB wire again.  Very frustrating!!
Finally it is sad that Apple has no interest in these issues.  It strikes me that as soon as there is a non-Apple platform involved they blame the other system and wash their hands of it.

  • ICal Month Viewing issues "The 3 dots of death"

    Hi,
Im experiencing problems viewing my month view, i run my business which is holiday lets, off my ICal.
I mainly use my month view because i can see availability and communicate this to clients when the call up to book/check availability.
My problem is that when i have more then three (all day selected) week bookings along side each other then the dreaded "3 dots of death" appear at the top of the day box, telling me i have more info for that day to view.
I want to know if i can just get all the info on there instead, there is blatantly enough space below as the info only takes up half the date square.
The maximum i would need would be 6 along side each other (change over days)
The other thing is that i already have separate calenders for my other accomodation. and i really need these ones to stay together.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
    Its driving me spare!
    Regards

    Potential workaround:
I feel your anger. I don't understand how that ellipsis helps.
If you already keep a discrete calendar, with a unique colour ID for those day-longs that you'd like to list six events, would mimicking all-day events during the same hour serve the purpose?
They stay together if chronologically identical times (I stopped adding at 20 events and going strong) and appear the same colour if from the same calendar, but lack a solid ground without "all-day" selected. For multiple days, repeat hourly overlapping events "every day" and "end" on the date of choice, or repeat weekly if appropriate.
I think this would look similar to what you want but you have to get used to treating a colour as an all-day cue instead of the solid ground appearance. I assume another calendar's events could appear in the middle chronologically, so create the all-day imitators during an hour that you won't likely split up, like non-work times.

  • Calendar month view-2 days on each cell.

In calendar app monthly view, I see in each day cell 2 numbers,
day of the month and a second number, day in month week later.
example :     7      14   appear in the same cell.
I don't like this view its confusing I would like to see single number and not two(like all calendars)
    How can I change it.
    Thankx
    joseph.

  • Calendar: Month View mode shows all days with "dots"

    Hiya,
I've got a problem with my calendar on the iPhone showing dots (symbolizing an appt on that day) for every day of the current month. I don't have appointments on every single day, so the bug is really affecting my ablity to check the month at a glance. And if I scroll to the next or previous month the dots appear only on days with appts, like they're supposed to.
I've already reset the phone, used the on-phone erase settings/content, and resynced the device. I've done everything short of restoring it in iTunes. Has anybody ever encountered this problem before?

  • ICalendar shuts down when going from year or month view to day view for dates starting May 2014. I'm running all the latest software versions

I realized the above mentioned problem already months ago, but assumed Apple is onto it and will fix it once the time comes closes. I have researched on the net to see if I can find posts with similar problems, but there don't seem to be any.

Try a reset: Simultaneously hold down the Home and On buttons until the device shuts down. Ignore the off slider if it appears. Once shut down is complete, if it doesn't restart on it own, turn the device back on using the On button. In some cases it also helps to double click the Home button and close all apps BEFORE doing the reset.

  • How to return the month view format on IPhone to show text of events and not dots?

The month view in my IPhone ICal is now filled with dots to let me know I have an event as opposed to the former view where I could see text at a glance and know what I had to do on certain days.  The month view of days with dots is now worthless to me unless i can change it back to see text.  Also, you have to scroll through to see all the hours in a day.  Is this really necessary?  Who has time to enter in so much activity on their daily calendar that is reqires scrolling through the hours?  Can I make the entire day appear on one screen if I'm in day view?
    Thanks for your help.

You can see what is similar to the List view by tapping on the magnifying glass. The former Month view with a couple of lines ot text under it no longer exists.

  • Calendar month view dots on every day...

I seem to have a dot in every day of every month in month view. I have seen pics of other folks who only have dots in the days where there is an event. So I am thinking there is something wrong with my sync.
I downloaded 7.3.1 iTunes, resynced, and even restored. Anyone else have this problem? Any ideas on how to fix it?

VOILA! Solved it. I was right, it was related to recurring appointments.
I kept going back on my calendar until I found a day that had no dot in it. Then I figured the first empty day that still showed a dot and worked backwards. I found a recurring appointment was causing the problem.
When I opened it up, I noticed that the appointment was from Mon, Feb 5 to Sun, Feb 4. It went BACK in time. It still showed as only one day, and the All Day button was ON. I changed the TO date to Feb 5 (so both FROM and TO matched), saved the appointment, and VOILA! Fixed. However, as I scrolled forward, I noticed dots started showing up in every day in the months from that point forward, and it was still fixed from that point on backwards. It turns out EVERY BIRTHDAY (every yearly recurring appointment) had this glitch. When I fixed a birthday, it fixed all the days between it and the next birthday. When I fixed them all, my Monthly view for ALL months now shows dots on days with events, and no dots on days with no event.
    Sweet!

  • How do you view 4 or more all day events

Is there a way to view 4 or more all day events without getting the .... at the top of the day box?
    Cheers

    T.Edwards,
Have you tried making the window larger?
According to iCal: Understanding symbols « How to work your Mac: "In Month view, three dots (an ellipsis) at the top of the day indicates there are more events on that day than can be shown. To see all the events in Day view,double-click the ellipsis."
Also read: Apple - Support - Discussions - ICal Month Viewing issues "The 3 dots ... for another discussion on your issue.

  • In month view, can't see more than 2 events per day...

I always keep my calendar in the "month" view because I have so much going on... But each day won't display more than two events. If I have more than two events, there's a "..." at the top of the day with two of the events underneath it. Each box for each day has so much space! I could fit like 5 other events! How can I display them all??

Is there a way to make things on the screen smaller? I've tried to use the touch screen taking my fingers and pulling together like you would zoom in and out but that doesn't work. This did not solve my problem. I hit the wrong button again. I have fat fingers.

  • Colored dots in calendar month view

    hello,
i have an iphone and use the calendar. i have multiple calendars with assigned colors (example: red for professional, green for sport, blue for family). as i am very busy, a black dot appears in almost every day in the month view. if i want to know what i have during a specific day, i enter the day (click on it) and scroll down.
is it possible to have colored dots in the month view to represent which calendar the activity belongs to? it would be useful to get a global view of the month. for example, i want to see in the month view that i have a meeting on monday (red dot), meeting and sport on tuesday (red and green dots), etc.

At this time that is not possible.

  • Wrong month displayed in day and week views

I recently noticed that whereas the current month is displayed correctly in Month view, in Day and Week view the date is displayed as in January. This has been the case in both February and now March.
I sync my iCal with my mobileme account and my iphone and these don't have the same problem.
I have removed my com.apple.iCal.plist file and rebooted, to no avail.
Any suggestions what else I can do?

Thank you so much Ferd II
I kick myself. Though too my mind it is not logical to look inside Language & Text for a problem with month names. I forgot that last month I changed the date format to yyyymmdd in order to make it more logical sorting things. I have now reverted to day of week, day of month, month, year, and everything seems fine.

  • IPhone calendar days out of order in month view.

This has been happening on my iPhone for quite some time and I've not been able to figure out how to change this. When viewing the calendar on my iPhone in "month" view, the days show beginning with Monday. I would like to get it back to the standard week with the days beginning with Sunday. Anyone know how to get this done?
    Thanks

    Change your region.
    Settings > General > International > Region > ...
    e.g. UK starts on Monday
    e.g. US stars on Sunday
