Monthly subscription serial does not transfer to new Premiere CS6

I received the e-mails from Adobe about the general new subscription protocol and savings. I have been using CS5.5 for about a year and Adobe stated the new automatic transfer subscription and new rate savings to CS6. I however when I enter my monthly serial subscription a message prompts that it's invalid. Please help. This is confusing.

You need a Firewire 800 to 400 adapter or cable or a external USB 2/3 drive (self powered) it can default to the old USB the G5 uses 1 or 2.

Quick answer if you use iTunes' default preferences settings: Copy the entire iTunes folder (and in doing so all its subfolders and files) intact to the other drive. Open iTunes and immediately hold down the Option (alt) key (shift on Windows), then guide it to the iTunes Library.itl file in the moved iTunes folder.

Unfortunately it uses the single term "transferring library" for two very different moves; relocating just your media (not recommended unless you really need this configuration) and relocating media+database (really your whole "library"). If you put it in the default location of Macintosh HD > Users > *User Name* > Music then you don't even need to start with the option key held down, iTunes will automatically look for it there. (Make sure there isn't anything already in the iTunes folder there that you want to keep since you will be replacing it with the one you are moving.)

Podcast image does not transfer to iPod

I publish a podcast, hosted by Podbean, and when I publish an episode, the image is displayed only in the iTunes player. It does not display with the Podcast in the Podcast Library in iTunes on my PC, nor does it transfer to my iPod. Evidently the image IS "transferred" to iTunes when iTunes picks up the new episode, but it does NOT "transfer" from iTunes to the downloader's machine or iPod. Any ideas of a setting I may be missing, or anything I may be doing wrong?
If it would help to look at the podcasts, they are (1) Alien Nation Student Ministries with Pastor Rob Deveney and (2)NUnity Church of God with Pastor George Moxley.

New info: the artwork IS there when I download directly to my iPod. My issue is obviously with iTunes on my PC. That's better; I was worreid no one who downloaded the podcasts would have the images, but evidently they will if they download direct to iPod. Meanwhile, I'd still like to know what's up with transfers from iTunes to iPod.

Apostrophe glyph does not transfer from CS3 to CS2 by inx

Can someone please confirm this: The Apostrophe glyph does not transfer by inx from CS3 5.0.2(640) to CS2 4.0.5(688).
It does transfer by inx from CS2 4.05(688) to CS1 3.0.1(838).
It also does roundtrip in CS3, CS2, and CS.
This is not a problem for me now that I know about it. I just wanted to report it for the benefit of others, as this is a commonly used character.
I tested this with Times (T1) in a very simple file containing just the apostrophe glyph followed by the lower case "x". These tests were conducted in Tiger 10.4.11.
It seems like it may be related to the similar problem with bullet glyphs that has been mentioned by Sandee and others in this forum.

I can reproduce the report by Klaus of being able to put in the "missing" apostrophe with a text editor. But using TextWrangler I was unable to find the "missing" apostrophe in the CS3 inx by searching for "'" or "0027" (the Unicode value for the apostrophe). Now, since IDCS3 is able to open its own inx including the apostrophe glyph, it must be encoding it in the inx in some special way. Exploring the IDCS2 inx for a test file with the string "CHICKEN 'N WAFFLES" shows that it is saved as "c_CHICKEN"+"&apos"+";N WAFFLES". Then searching from the top for the string "&apos", finds 5 instances of it. While a simillar search for "&apos" in the CS3 inx finds only one instance of it. Clearly IDCS3 and IDCS2 write their inx files differently. No surprise there. Searching the CS3 inx for *parts* of "CHICKEN 'N WAFFLES" locates: <txsr prst="o_u65" crst="o_u62" paln="e_cent" ptfs="c_Medium" ptsz="U_18" font="c_Helvetica"> <pcnt>c_CHICKEN </pcnt> </txsr> <txsr prst="o_u65" crst="o_u62" paln="e_cent" ptfs="c_Medium" ptsz="U_18" ligt="b_f" font="c_Helvetica" OTca="b_f"> <pcnt>e_SSSq</pcnt> </txsr> <txsr prst="o_u65" crst="o_u62" paln="e_cent" ptfs="c_Medium" ptsz="U_18" font="c_Helvetica"> <pcnt>c_N WAFFLES</pcnt> </txsr> Now if I paste in a copy of the lines : <txsr prst="o_u65" crst="o_u62" paln="e_cent" ptfs="c_Medium" ptsz="U_18" font="c_Helvetica"> <pcnt>c_N WAFFLES</pcnt> </txsr> after the first occurrence and save the file from TextWrangler, it will then reopen in IDCS3 with the text string "CHICKEN ''N WAFFLES" (note the two apostrophes). Conclusion: IDCS3 does indeed save the apostrophe in the inx in a completely different way than IDCS2, and in different ways under different circumstances. Use Garageband to edit the songs. Save them as new files for use with your slide show. The modifications made in iTunes do not modify the song files, they only tell iTunes how to play the songs.

There is no support for mirroring or syncing iPhoto libraries or Aperture libraries. You can however export partial Aperture libraries on one mac and merge them into other libraries on a second Mac.
To transfer your edited photos open your photolibrary in Aperture and and collect the edited photos in an album. Then select the album and use the command "File export > Album as new library". This will export all edited photos as a new Aperture library. Copy this library to your other Mac and import it with "File < Import > Library to your other photolibrary on that computer (assuming you are having the same Aperture version on both macs). When merging the new library into your Aperture library, opt to keep the newer versions from the imported library. iPhoto 9.5.1 will be able to open these merged Aperture 3.5.1 libraries.

home sharing does not work with new mountain lion update. Does anyone else have the same issue. Updated all computers in my home, deauthorized and reauthorized each computer. turn off home sharing and turned it back on. don't know what else to do..please help...

Our Apple TVs continue to lose connection ever since installing Mountain Lion on the host computer. The only thing that fixes them is to quit and relaunch iTunes, which only works unti the ATV goes to sleep. If a movie is paused for more than a few minutes and the ATV goes to sleep, pressing play again on the remote is greeted with "There are no movies on this computer" or "Turn on Home Sharing."
If we stop a video on one ATV and attempt to resume it in another room, the error begins again. The other ATV can't connect until iTunes is relaunched.
My guess is that it has something to do with the new [annoying] security settings. But I still haven't found a fix other than restarting iTunes everytime we want to watch something from our downloads. Fail.

Nope - you cannot restore a backup from a newer iOS version on to a device running an older iOS version. The reverse works, but in your case to use your backup, you must update to iOS 7.0.3 - no other option if you want to use that backup.

Left clicking or right clicking on the new tab button does not open a new tab. Common fixes have been unsuccessful. I don't know what's wrong. It's a recent problem, and even though I'm using an older version of Firefox this hasn't been a problem before.

Try uninstalling the Ask toolbar and it should work again. There is a compatibility issue with the Ask toolbar and the current version of Firefox.

When you open the project, it should ask you where the first file is located. After you tell it where it is, it should be able to find the rest of them if they are located near the first one. Then save the file. If you move the files again, you will have to relink them again.

JRE 1.3.1_02 does not work with new Nvidia drivers - HELP!

I am a user and not a developer but this problem really does bite the big one. I have had installed JRE 1.3.1 and have used it to run LimeWire file sharing program for a long time (LimeWire is a java program from www.limewire.com) and also use it to see java applets on web pages in IE 6.
I have since upgraded my Nvidia video drivers to version 2.8.3.2 which is the latest official release at this time from Nvidia. Since doing this I have no java at all anymore. Limewire refuses to run at all and there is an error report generated in it's resident directory. If I go to http://java.sun.com, IE hangs and then dissappears, leaving a bug report on my desktop. It seems that JRE does not like the new NT OpenGL dll at all in the new Nvidia drivers and will not run at all. The dll that causes the problem is:

I upgraded JRE to version 1.3.1_02 because Sun says this is the latest version and runs on XP which is what I have. Still java does not run at all anymore and I get the same bug reports. Has anyone found a workaround for this problem? This really stinks because now I cannot use LimeWire at all and if any web page has java on it, it dissappears right away and there is no more browser on my desktop. The only way I can even visit http://java.sun.com is if I use a Java blocking applet to filter out java applets on web pages.
Please address this issue in JRE development and release a patch for it or a workaround.

I stumbled in here looking for help, I am a PC user,
not a coder or developer (How sad. <g>). I checked for
updates to the Nvidia driver (none), Windows XP (not
at this time), and DirectX 8.1 (not at this time,
these come on the XP updates page so far as I know.)
Not too suprising...
I have no idea of how to implement your suggestion on
how to disable the JMV use of DirectX overal in my XP
envornment. I guess that using Internet Explorer 6 to
see web pages with Java on them are pretty much out of
the question for now but I would be happy as a clam if
I could get my LimeWire application going again.
LimeWire is called via a desktop or Start menu
shortcut in this fashion:
Target Box: C:\WINDOWS\system32\javaw.exe -cp .
RunLime
Start In (directory): "C:\Program Files\LimeWire 1.7"
So it appears that java is called via the javaw.exe
file and passes a cp argument (whatever that is), then
there is a period separator (dunno why) and then the
"RunLime" statement that calls up the LimeWire
program.to implement the suggestion, simply add -Dsun.java2d.noddraw=true between "javaw.exe" and "-cp" separating it from them by a space on each side. Your result should look something like this:
c:\windows\system32\javaw.exe -Dsun.java2d.noddraw=true -cp . RunLime

I cannot see any need for fancy graphic acceleration
or DirectX being called to play for this application
since it is basicly a file manager that shares.
Nothing fancy about it.It's not the application choosing to do this, but Java itself. Java GUI applications specifically those who use the Swing GUI classes (like LimeWire, if I recall) automatically leverage DirectX. This is really valuable for Swing applications since they emulate Windows (or Mac or Motif) GUI widgets rather than using them, making fast access to display buffers important to ensure best performance.
