Monthly usage period

Hi
Sorry if this has already been covered (cant find the info) but can anyone confirm the timescale used by BT to measure internet usage - is it from the 1st of the month or from the billing date (24th in my case)

I was forced to change over to BT back in January after having been with Tiscali Unlimited for over 5 years (who were never great but were taken over by the dreaded TalkTalk - who promised they weren't going to increase subscription rates and then promptly increased subscription rates by almost 33%! unless you gave in to blackmail and gave them your phone calls as well - and I never respond well to that kind of strong arm bullying). (As I understand it there was a mass exodus away from TalkTalk)
My rural exchange is not unbundled, which means that every supplier but BT (and previously Tiscali), adds a whacking great surcharge because the service is "out of area". When I wanted to get shut of Tiscali it turned into quite a long convoluted nightmare trying to find a reasonably priced ISP, I had to settle for the BT 10Gb a month thing, not ideal but, any port in a storm...
Anyway, I just received a warning email from BT saying I have used over 7Gb in May (?) and if I go over I'll be charged £1 per Gb. The email is pretty vague, and when I go looking on the website for concrete information, I'm really struggling to find anything in the sprawling mess. I couldn't find when my month starts and ends??, couldn't find anything relating to actual usage of BB, and am told by BT I should install a third party meter to keep track - that I may want to "try a few" before I settle on one.
Back in Jan, when I signed up to BT, I went to the BTYahoo site to set up some email addresses, in doing so I got a trojan attack which was picked up by my antivirus, then every time I visited BTYahoo I get reinfected. It turned out that parts of this 'third party' site where I am forced to go to set up my emails, are poxed up with the GoogleRedirect virus, and once you're infected you're in real trouble and I had no end of problems after that.
To cut a long story short, I reported all this to BT who never even replied! A delightful welcome to BT Broadband.
I am always staggered by how lax the internet 'cess-pit' is and people are too trusting, if you download and install ANY .exe file onto your computer, you have no way of knowing what it's really up to, in other words it could easily be keeping track of your movements, sucking data out, putting data in, accessing files, etc etc., the possibilities are both easy and endless if you know what you're doing. It is difficult enough trying to keep yourself secure on the net without being told by your ISP to download who knows what into your computer for something they should be providing as a matter of course as they are already collecting the figures??? It's ridiculous, if you are going to impose a usage limit then you should make the figures readily accessible by the user, there's no excuse. How else is the customer expected to keep track and modify usage accordingly??
Can anyone tell me please - is it possible to access your usage figures? and if so how? - how do you find out when your 'usage' period begins and ends? and exactly what is the period - is it 28 days? per calendar month?
Any concrete info gratefully received as I'm about ready to blow a gasket!

I 100% agree though- "Why don't the support people actually explain the cause ?"
Makes you wonder if any customers get/got this email and wasn't told to just delete it and were then capped.

International calling planminutes per month usage

I was at one time able to minitor my international calling plans minute per month usage on one of Verizons web page. Since then I have lost that page that I saved as a Favorite when my computer crashed. Can anyone please let me know the web address on the Verizon home page to get to that page? It is so frustrating to try to keep track of my monthly international long distance calls.

1.Go to over view page
2. Click on My verizon services
3.click on home phone do not choose any other option and a new page will open
4.left hand side will be written phone plan in blue click on it and that page will take there for info that you are looking for

Weekly Period profiles in monthly PA period environment

Hi All
Need your opinion in a scenario.
Scenario is that we are using monthly PA periods. Actuals, budgets and period close reconciliation and processes all based on monthly period. Our planning department comes up with a new requirement where they want to enter Weekly forecasts. Like till date they extract actuals from system and then need 4 columns of 4 weeks where they could manually enter manpower requirements (requirement is too by headcount rather number of hours). Somehow i was able to use my Forecast screen in EBS Project Management module to get them actuals and enter their plan. But problem is their they can only enter it by months as monthly profile is used. Is there any workaround where i could create weekly profiles and keep my PA periods monthly. I have checked Period Profile functionality but apparently there i only can create Periods by combining different PA periods not dividing into weeks.
Help will be appreciated.

Answer : It is applicable while transfer planning data to demand management -MC74 OR Re-organisa=ing Independent Requiirement -Adjustment of PIR -MD74.
Now to achive your requirement you should simply follow the below steps:
1.Goto MD62 transaction ->...schedule lines tab ->and give the period "W" week and select the next month demand in the column period"...you will get the split quantity there itself and then save this
Or Go to MD61 and click on user parameter (Press F5) here you can define period indicator as W- week. And first screen of MD61 you can also select the planning period in week-W.
For SOP go to MC87 then header menu EDITPeriod splitTotal--Week.

MeetingPlace 7.1.1 monthly usage report missing

I have MeetingPlace 7.1.1 and when I want to create report for monthly usage from Application server it seems that 8 months are missing (see attachment)
Anyone had this problem before ?

We're running MP 7.0.3 and want to capture the Monthly Usage Report numbers for use in custom tables that match others in a presentation. The canned report is ugly...
I know we could just transpose the approximated numbers manually from the graphic, but I want the actual numbers. Short of doing an "Export Meetings" for 2 full years, does anyone of another method? Is there a way to export meetings and select only specific columns?

I can advise that the system is set up for all customers usage to reset on the same day. Its a lot easier than having to reset a large number of customers on different dates throughout the month.

High monthly usage!!

My average monthly usage is 10gb. This month however I have so far reached 47gb and have done nothing more excessive. I Don't download music I have downloaded one movie from play this year and I don't do Online gaming. I phoned BT and they told me I used 10gb in one day. This was a day when nobody was in my house from 9to5 and the modem was switched off! My modem has a password etc. BT just keep saying it must be me?! Any ideas?

It is advisable to keep your router and modem on 24/7 unless you have a really good reason for doing otherwise.

Settlement variant with monthly settlement periods

Hello Experts
I have created a settlemnet variant with a monthly settlement period for the current year as follows:
UM         UD       AD         Settlement Period
1             31       -1               1
2              28     -1                2
3             31      -1                3
up to December of 2011.
Since this is a new implementation i have indicated the settlement variant as year dependent.
Upon generating the cost collector in settlement unit , the settlement periods are coming out as follows:
01.02.2012--29.02.2012
01.03..2012---31.03.2012
it is actually taking intervals of the following year instead of the current year.
When i try to create another settlement variant with AD 0 , it prompts an error messge " Enter a valid value ".
How can i set up such a settlement variant with a monthly settlement period for the current yeasr.

Please check if settlement variant with the following attributes would meet your requirement.
year-dependant : no
settlement year: empty
UM UD AD Settlement period
1 31              1
2 28              2
12 31             12
Please do not fill field AD at all.

Does Infinity Option 2 display monthly usage?

I know you can monitor monthly usage via your BT account on Infinity Option 1. Is it also displayed if you are on Option 2 even though, being unlimited, it's for information only?

it shouldnt do, online games dont use that much, you only have problems if like alot people who complain on here your downloading movies. keep in mind console demos are normaly about 1g though if you do get any.

Monthly Usage

Whats using so much data on my iPhone? I have it with me all the time and everytime I check it goes up. My billing period begins on the 8th and so far this month I've used 5.2GB over 3G alone. And none of that is me actually using it. I have no idea but I need help. Would a restore help? The only thing running is pandora and I usually pause that when I'm not using it.

I could be wrong on this, but Pandora is one of the few apps that doesn't stop in the background. Before you try restoring, actually close (not just pause) Pandora when you're not using it and see if your data usage is less.

Mid month convention - Period Control method

My client wants to calculate depreciation for mid month. i.e, Asset acquired after 15th of a month should be considered for next month depreciation calculation.
A new dep key and period control have been asked to create.
In this case, what are the steps that needs to be done?

Copy a key and start it with Z.For period control use the second one, which is called "pro rata upto mid-period per period start date. What this method does is if the asset is put in service upto the middle of the period(month-generally) the depreciation starts beginning of the period, if it is after the middle of the period the start date is the beginning of the next period(month).

Trying to create a 13th month adjustment period

Hi all,
I am trying to setup a 13th month in fdm (the HFM application has a end of year adjustment period). I'm hitting difficulty as fdm wont let me have 2 load periods in the same month range (as far as i can tell) and I cant leave the date range blank. Has anyone successfully dealt with this before?
Previous attempts have lead to "invalid period" then "cant delete period" issues. The FDM app also has multiple adapters (HFM and ESSbase) to complicate the issue.

The period shortening solution does not work in FDM 9.3.1. The error log and control table inputs of the attempt (screenshot wont attach unfortunately) are included below.

The first solution involving creating the adjustment period in an extrapolated date range (e.g. 5\31\1950, 6\30\1950) does work - with issues. Doing this will allow you to upload data into the adjustment period, but may cause tpov violations in batch load processes.
