As the final insult the iPod function is lost
I have had a number of unfortunate things happend after i installed IOS4 (or Vista as i like to call it)
First ALL of my cell network settings disapeared a few days
AFTER i installed the useless thing, then i had severe problems getting the wlan connection to work, and lately most of my Apps need a few starts to Get going.
Finally i Find that my music cannot be played at all. Does anyone know when the "Vista" issues will be sorted. I'm farly annoyed by now.
Message was edited by: BallebeeRestarts to sort out the apps problems, re-entering the cell network data for MMS etc. I have not been able to make my music player work. It crashes after approx 1-2 seconds. And i found that all my pictures that got transferred back are now shrunk so smalll that they are useless.

How to change the type of the Warning message BS011 in Error one?!
Hi all,
I'm facing the following problem:
We're working with serial numbers which are generated when the production order is realeased..
When the order is finally confirmed the finished product is put in the Storage Location with good movement 101: Tcode MIGO1, and the related serial numbers must be selected.
If the user fails in the selection and insert a serial number that is already been delivered to the final customer the message "bs011" appear as a warning:
System status ECUS is active (EQU 10011899)
Message no. BS011
Diagnosis
System status ECUS (At customer site) is active for object EQU 10011899. When this status is active, the system issues a warning before executing transaction 'Goods receipts'
Procedure
If you want to execute transaction 'Goods receipts' anyway, ignore the alert message.
Our customer wants it to be an error message: how can I do? where could I manage the type of this message?
I've also refeared to the link:
Serial number
but I don't succeded in doing it..
Please help me!
Thanks in advance,
ValentinaHi Valentina,
1. Transaction: BS22 (System Status maintenance).
2. Locate the system status: I0188 - ECUS (click Page down key to scroll the list below).
3. Put cursor on I0188 and, menu path GOTO -> TRANSACTION CONTROL.
4. Locate Business status PMS1 - Goods Receipts, click checkbox "Forbidden" (It might be in Warning right now?).
5. Save and test your scenario.

Down Payment settlement Line is not appearing in the final Billing
Hello All,
Activated the Milestone billing plan. Created a Sales order > Down payment Billing document > and cleared the Down payment billing document.
While trying to bill the final invoice the down payment settlement line is not appearing.
Please suggest us what would be the probable reason for this to resolve the issue.
Checked in detail and found in the table BSID the field sales document ( VBEL2) is populated with blank and not with the sales order number.
Thanks & Regards,
Madhan.Hi
When you create a final invoice the downpayment clearing line is retrieved using function
module SD_DOWNPAYMENT_READ. The function module will not be able to find the
downpayment if the VBEL2 and POSN2 fields are not filled.
If the downpayment is posted and cleared correctly in F-29 (this is the only way) these
fields will be filled and the document should be retrieved and the value transferred to the
AZWR condition.
Run VF01 with a breakpoint in SD_DOWNPAYMENT_READ
go to the end of the function module you will see the structure t_sdaccdpc
This is filled with all valid entries for clearing. I suspect in your case it is missing.
Try posting a new example in using F-29 make sure it shows cleared in the
document flow then check at this point above in the final invoice
Hope this helps you further
Kind regards

Error in setting final variable using properties vs hard coding
I am getting the following error when trying to use this line of code
public static final String MESSAGES_BUNDLE_NAME = System.getProperty("messages");
java.lang.ExceptionInInitializerError: java.lang.NullPointerException
When I change the above line to
public static final String MESSAGES_BUNDLE_NAME = "messages_usa";
the program works fine.
Any ideas as to why this is happening would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
BorisI am sorry, but I realized now that I did notdiscribe
the problem fully.
The error is happening on the following line
return APPLICATION_RESOURCE_BUNDLE.getString(key);
So it looks like APPLICATION_RESOURCE_BUNDLE is
becoming null.
No that is not what is happening.
This is the error that you posted.....
java.lang.ExceptionInInitializerError:
java.lang.NullPointerException
The first part is the exception, not the second part
(although the second causes the first.)
The java docs specifically point out that a
NullPointerException is returned if the base name is
null - the parameter to getBundle().
The initialization exception occurs because when it
tries to excecute the initialization expression for
the final, then the getBundle() is throwing the null
pointer exception.
It is is not clear what you code is actually supposed
to be doing but I think you suggested that your are
using a system property. If so then it means that
that system property is not defined. And it works
when you use a hard coded value because the hard coded
value is defined. From this explanation I don't understand why initializing the bundle name from System.getProperty() works in the same class with the bundle obejct initialization, but does not work when it is in another class from bundle object initialization. -
Probably the exception - not the rule
I've been messing around with computers since the days of the Radio Shack Commadore Vic 20. It can be a frustrating hobby - to say the least. I've had the typical Adobe free stuff on my computer for years, and fooled around with Photoshop on other pc's. (my brother works in a print shop and advised me not to purchase it).
Recently I purchased my first Adobe software - Premiere Elements. I was pretty excited about the prospect of doing more editing than I could in Windows Movie. Installing it was a bit of a hassle, but I hung in there.
Today was the first time I've had a chance to sit down and play around with it. I started about 6am, it's now 11:20am. About 90% of the last 5 hours and 20 minutes has been spent rebooting, re-opening after the hundreds of crashes, reading the barage of error messages, closing every other program I can think of that might be conflicting.
From what I could tell, some of the features looked like they might be fun. I wish I could have kept the program running long enough to give it a better try.
For the record, my computer is only about a year old and the only issue I've had with it is Windows Vista, (but that's another story).
As my title stated, I'm sure I'm probably teh exception and not the rule. In all my years of computering, including many years using digital audio recording software such as Cakewalk SONAR, Cubase and Pro Tools, I've never had so many countless issues, one after the other, with ANY software . . . EVER! The ridiculousness of it is almost comical. Truly, without a doubt - the biggest waste of my money in 2010 - no question about it. I can honestly say I will NEVER even think about purchasing anything from Adobe again.
If it was a glitch here or there that I could work thru - that would be all in a days work. The "glitches" were too many to count. Literally every mouse click brought on a new error or freeze up. I don't think my computer has been restarted this many times all month.
Anyway - have fun. I'm off to find video editing software that I can actually use to edit video. If you actually want help, you have the link for the PElements forum

How can i make a large document without loosing the quality of the image
I am doing this design of about 6 meters wide for a banner my worry is how to maintain the image quality
ashmagination,
You may work at a suitable scale, then save as PDF with a custom page size and scale up when printing from Acrobat/Reader.
You only have to worry about raster images and raster effects, if any.
Raster images/effects must end up in the required resolution, so when working at a scale you must ensure that the resolution in PPI is is many times higher as you are scaling up (if you work at 1:10 the final size, the PPI must be 10 times the required value at the final size). -

iOS 5.1.1 Software Update - just tried to update and it didn't work! Got to the final stages and was presented with error 1602! My screen now has the frozen image of the itunes logo and usb thing. Happened once before - funnily enough when doing an update back in November - I had to visit an Apple store to have the phone restored. Would appreciate any advice as I would like to avoid another trip to the apple store.
found the real problem.
In my laptop where it couldn't detect the iphone and ipad, this folder is missing:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Apple\Mobile Device Support\Drivers
The ipad was wrongly using a microsoft driver.
I found the correct drivers in:
C:\Windows\System32\DriverStore\FileRepository\usbaapl64.inf_amd64_neutral_c111a aecb61e9a2b
Copy the contents to
C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Apple\Mobile Device Support\Drivers
After that, I had to update the driver for Ipad in device manager.
Ipad was found under: "Removable Devices", as a storage device.
Once that is fixed, itunes can detect ipad, and I can restore it.
Apple should really look into ensuring that folder doesn't go missing during itunes update process. -
PLEASE HELP!!!
I am using an HP DV9 laptop running Windows 7 Home Premium and the latest iTunes software.
I regularly synch my iphone 4S with my laptop & Outlook.
I recently got the message that an IOS6 upgrade is available & so I scheduled to apply the update.
Everything was running normally when, after the download of the update, backup of my iphone, & applying the update began when
suddenly, iTunes returned with an ERROR MESSAGE as follows:
The iPhone "Ramon's iPhone" could not be updated. An unknown error occurred (1602)
Now, my iphone is stuck with the iTunes icon and the USB image with an arrow pointing to the iTunes
icon.
WHAT DO I DO NOW?????!!!!!
Help PLEASE!!!!I actually tried the steps below due to the error -5000 I had encountered during the previous tries updating my IOS to 5.1.1
"Perform a normal sync and check your iTunes to make sure everything was synced in the right places like the tabs at the top of your "summary" when you plug in your iPhone to iTunes. If everything is there and all the right boxes are checked for the stuff you want to save, then put your phone into recovery mode by keeping it plugged into your computer with iTunes still up and running. Next you want hold down the power button AND the home key button (the big button on the bottom part of your screen) AT THE SAME TIME. Your phone will go thru 4 different screens before you
Can let them go. U will see your normal power off slider screen, then a black screen, then a black screen with an apple logo, then finally a screen with the iTunes logo and a picture of a sync cable below it. Once you see this screen LET BOTH BUTTONS GO but not before you see this screen. Your computer will tell you that it has detected an iPhone in recovery mode, say ok. Then hit the restore button on your iTunes summary screen, it should then ask you if you want to restore from a backup and update, say yes.... And at the end of its restoring and uploading you should have iOS 5!!"
Then it proceeded to a reactivation process... =( -

upgrading to osx 10.6.8 fails. I see errors in the /var/log/install.log of "An unexpected error occurred while moving files to the final destination." Underlying Error=(Error Domain=NSPOSIXErrorDomain Code=5 "The operation couldn’t be completed. Input/out. Any thoughts on what is causing these errors and the upgrade failure?
ThanksI have no idea what the specific error code means but input/output errors can sometimes mean a disk is failing. Make a couple of backups of all important data before doing anything else.
Verify your startup disk using the First Aid tab in Disk Utility. If the disk needs repair boot from your Leopard DVD and repair your disk from Disk Utility under Utilities on the screen after you choose your language. Repeat the repair process until Disk Utility reports all is well.
If Disk Utility doesn't find any errors you might want to try a new download of the update and keep a sharp eye on your HD for anything else that might indicate all is not well. Take special care to back up important data.
If Disk Utility finds errors it would probably be a good idea to pay a visit to the Apple Store to have them check out your hard drive even if Disk Utility is able to repair the errors. -
Cfdisk error: Partition ends in the final partial cylinder
I was rearraging some partitions last night. I have two hard drives, both 1TB. They are (now) laid out as follows:
Drive 1:
- 40GB partition for Windows system
- 40GB partition for Arch system
- 920GB partition for backed up documents
Drive 2:
- 80GB utility partition
- 920GB partition for documents
I used fdisk to create the last partition on the first drive (the first two partitions were already in place). I pretty much just told it to create a 'n'ew, 'p'rimary partition and then accepted the default options in order to get a partition that filled the remainder of the drive. None of the partitions were in place on the second drive, and I tried using fdisk, but when I tried to create the first partition, it wouldn't allow me to start it at the beginning of the drive (it insisted on making the first partition start at sector 2048 rather than sector 63). I figured I'd try out cfdisk to see if it would allow me to start the partition on sector 63, and it did. Got those partitions created just fine using cfdisk.
However, I went back to check my work after I had created all the partitions and hit a source of confusion. cfdisk spouts out an error whenever I try to view the first drive. It says partition number 2 is bad and that the "Partition ends in the final partial cylinder". (Not sure if partition number 2 refers to the second or third partition. (Is the index zero-based?)) cfdisk has no trouble viewing my second drive, and fdisk has no problem viewing either of them. I'm a bit of a newbie with regards this sort of thing, so any idea why cfdisk has issues with my first drive?

plasticeraser wrote:Since I'm at college I really don't want to format anything and possibly losing anything.
Maybe I'm not following, but it looks like you want to format (delete) your Ubuntu partitions, but then again you don't want to format anything. You can't just install Arch on top of your Ubuntu partitions and think it will just overwrite Ubuntu by putting Arch in the existing partitions. That'll just create a huge mess.
If your existing /home is on a separate partition, you can just use fdisk (instead of cfdisk) to delete Ubuntu's / partition so that Arch can use that instead. You should just use an installation medium to do the install process, it really is just a matter or removing your existing distro's / and telling Arch to install to that partition while still preserving your Windows 7 partition(s) and existing /home. -
I'm trying to burn an iMovie in iDVD and at the end of the whole burn process it says "Multiplexer Error" "there was an error during formatting". How do I fix it so that it'll burn?
Hi
Multiplexing error is a very complex problem due to many things (long long list following) - one common but not obvious reason is that material on the iDVD menu goes outside the TV-Safe area (or just touching it).
So first - turn on TV-Safe area and move any object well inside of this.
Wide screen stretched - usually (as I think) it is due to making a 4x3 movie in a 16x9 wide-screen project OR the other way around. This forces one to on flat-screen TV (or other) set the presenting view right - My has 4x3, wide-screen, zoom and auto-wide-screen and I have to switch this by my remote for some DVD I've made "wrong" way.
Now my long long list on Multiplex Error
LONG LONG LONG LIST
Multiplexing Error
PART One.
Use of strange video/audio material e.g. .avi, .wmv, .mp3 etc.
I only use.
Video - StreamingDV (miniDV tape via FireWire) and
Audio - .aiff (as on audio-CDs) (else converted to this .aiff 48KHz)
Photo - .jpg (.bmp known problematic)
Chapters !
A. Using strange letters in video project name e.g. +,/; etc. keep to a-z and 0-9 strange letters in project name e.g. +
as described by Donnyboy69. Does the title of your project have any symbols or decimal points in it. If so, that is why you are getting the error. I had a project that had a + sign which caused the same problem. I renamed it without the symbol and low and behold, it worked.
B. Location of Chapters
• Can’t be at start or end of movie (Skip first/start one - iDVD sets this by it self. At the End - no need)
• Not in a transition (or within 2-3 seconds from it)
Important when from iMovie HD6 or previous - Now also observed when using FCE 4
PART Two.

"Multiplexing Error. Problem during initialization of tracks"
Simply remember to add subtitles to your Quicktime files and menu buttons.
Once I did that, I was back in business.

Do a safe reboot (by holding down the shift key until you see the spinning gear on gray background, then release, then restart when your start-up screen appears).
I always makes a DiskImage first and test this so that it runs OK
I use only - Verbatim DVDs
I use only - DVD-R
I burn at an as slow speed possibly e.g. x1
This gives good DVDs
PART Three.
Multiplex Error

Back again. Here is what I have found to work. I also have and use a LaCie DVD-R/RW DL external drive and a LaCie external hard drive as well. Since yesterday I have tried a few ways to burn a themed iDVD project having four 56 minute movies on it, amounting to 226 minutes onto a DVD DL disc, capacity 240 minutes. Apple tech support really didn't know what to do but gave me a very good tip. I had two options left. Apple tech support's tip was to try disc image. One of the replies on a thread with this subject said not to, but my experience today is good. Put your project onto "Burn to disc image," under "iDVD, file." Yesterday encoding took me 23 1/2 hours. Overnight for iDVD disc image, encoding took 21 1/2 hours (again) while I slept. This morning I tried to copy/burn disc image to a DVD with Roxio Toast 7, and it stopped near the end of the burn with some kind of "error" message. So then I tried Utilities> Disc Utility> Burn icon, and followed it through. Be sure to click the DVD DL drive in the window "Burn disc in.". I had one other problem though. At the end of a 46 minute copy, it started to verify, and at the end of verify it rejected the burn. So I tried again, and when "verify" appeared, I clicked on "Skip." The disc finished burning and is doing fine and well. A long and tortuous process, but at last something works. I made several additional copies using Disc Utility. Best wishes. Chuck, Chicago.
2. Disconnect any other external devices not absolutely needed.
e.g. external USB/USB2 hard disks, other FW hard disks etc.

(Not a 'guy' but I will answer!)
First, I do not think that mixing wide-screen and standard makes a difference in iDVD.
Second, you should use a better brand of DVD disk. Also, many of us have experienced fewer problems on playback with DVD-R disks. Recommended brands here are Verbatim, Maxell and Taiyo Yuden. Memorex and TDK are not consistent and may not give you a correct burn. They apparently have fewer layers in the composition of the disk. I have always used Verbatim DVD-R disks and have not had any burn problems.
Also, choose a slower burn speed, 4x or less.
Third, to determine if the iDVD project will burn properly, create a disk image file (from within iDVD, go File->Save as Disk Image) and test it. Mount the disk image and then open DVD Player (in Applications) and view your project. If it plays correctly, you can then burn the actual DVD disk from the disk image file using Disk Utility.

I did everything I've seen suggested, but a friend (who used to be an Apple Genius) suggested that I do a safe reboot (by holding down the shift key until you see the spinning gear on gray background, then release, then restart when your start-up screen appears).
It worked, and I got a clean burn from iDVD.
Hopefully this can help other people.

Well, I finally got it, and it was odd enough to post here incase anyone looks this topic up again. Many things were tried, including burning the unedited film, the edited film without titles and chapter markers, abbreviating the chapter markers in case length was the issue (remember the old iMovie used to truncate them when moving to iDVD?). In the process, I noticed that one, and only one, chapter marker was on the same line as the title marker. All the others were on the line above. The only way I seemed able to change that was to clip a few seconds of film. After that last clip, the offending marker took a place on the line above, as were all the others. That run published, compiled completely and burned. That's one for the books.
One user more writes
To add my experience with Multiplex Errors using iDVD (7.0.4), I recently created two iDVD projects
Video from both passed from FCE 4.01 with chapters
One project worked fine in creating disk image file
The other gave Multiplex Errors
I tried suggestions to remove special characters and no chapter marks at beginning, but nothing worked
Note that I've used iDVD for dozens of projects and this is first time I've run into Multiplex Errors
Anyway, for problem project, I tried an experiment where I removed all chapters in FCE and passed to new iDVD project
This time multiplex errors gone
So had something to do with chapters
So now I tried numerous experiments to remove individual chapters and try again creating disk image with new iDVD project
After numerous tries, I was able to narrow problem down to 1 "Bad" chapter mark
That is, when I left the "bad" chapter in my FCE project and passed to iDVD, iDVD gave multiplex error
When I removed "bad" chapter mark (and others in), no multiplex error
As a final experiment, I moved "bad" chapter mark about 5-10 sec's beyond original point and passed to iDVD, the multiplex errors now magically went away and I was able to finally create my disk image.
I have no idea why this worked, but thought I'd mention here in case someone else runs into similar problem.

In addition to Bengt's fine advice, burning errors can occur if you have located any of your menu buttons wholly or partly outside of the safe TV viewing area. Go to your main project menu, then click on View/Show TV Safe Area, to check. Drag into the safe viewing area any buttons that are outside the safe viewing area.
Russ One - suggest this
Multiplex Error-There was an error during muxing preparation
One thing that worked for me was to export the video w/o chapter markers as a self contained movie (thereby not loosing the edits & etc). Then make a new FCE project and import that movie into a new sequence and add the chapter markers. I've used "-", "&" and "," with no problem in the chapter names. Removing the markers or exporting without them did solve the problem but renaming them with just numbers 1,2,3....5, did not solve the problem and since this problem seems to happen with with iMovie as well, it would suggest the problem is in the video or audio and in combination with the chapter markers iDVD just can't handle it. The only other possibility is that both iMovie and FCE share the same or similar chapter marker code that some how is corrupting the markers.
Summary - What to try
1. Chapters
• Only A to Z and 0 to 9 in chapter title
• No Chapter mark at very beginning of movie
• No Chapter mark in or within 2 seconds from any transition in movie
2. TV-safe area for buttons (no one outside this)
3. Safe re-boot
4. No other external devices connected - that are not needed
SDMacuser adds to this
• On #4 ... No ext. devices. Some think this applies mainly to ext. FW. Not the case. Also applies to ext. USB2 as well (not to mention flash drives too).
Do not leave 3rd party devices / camera / camcorder plugged in unless it is being used with iDvd's One Step process. Certain web cams can trigger this also (especially ones with added features like LED light/s that draw additional power from the FW or USB bus).
5. Minimum of 25Gb free space on Start-up hard disk
6. Make a DiskImage first - reduces where problem originates
7. Trash iDVD pref. file
8. Make a new iDVD project
9. Movies in project with same aspect ratio e.g. 4x3 or 16x9
10. No other programs/applications running during iDVD process. e.g. Internet, screen & energy savers
