MOPZ-generated SIDE EFFECT report never shows up in SOLMAN

HI - we are using SOLMAN ST 400, SPS#24
I am doing a MOPZ transaction for an ERP604/NW701 system landscape - specifically for updating from a lower SPS level to a more recent one...
In MOPZ....i requested the SIDE EFFECT report.....at that time got to a screen where it displayed the following message "Your request has not yet been processed. Please check back again in a few hours. "
I've waited more than 3 days - and still - when I go back into SOLMAN....into this same MOPZ transaction#....to look for the SIDE EFFECT report......it doesn't show up anywhere - instead....i just continue to see the same message (Your request has not yet been processed. Please check back again in a few hours. )

(it seems that the process for MOPZ-generated side effect reports is not as "user friendly" as the "old" way - outside SOLMAN/MOPZ - of doing this - in the "old" way, using SMP....you always got a request id#....and you always got an EMAIL in a few hrs ....that you clicked on to get the report.....i see neither of these when using MOPZ)

sometimes the side-effect report may take longer to arrive due to a long processing time for the request. This may happen due to many concurrent requests at the same time, or because there are technical issues in the service backend systems here at SAP.
I hear that you already got the side-effect reports after a delay, so I guess that your request was finally processed.

Working in Germany but in an english environment. WIN7 Installation, explorer... solution manager... everything is english. I am logged in SolMan in english, Marketplace english (prefered language english).. IE8 or Firefox are english..
What ever I try, requesting a side effect report in Maintenance optimizer, in marketplace .. for a single note or a complete support package stuck.. I ALLWAYS GET IT IN GERMAN ... I cant send this to american or finnish colleagues....
Any Idea what I could check? Before I loose my last black hair?

Hello Manfred,
This would be because on SMP the default language must be set to German.
However there is a work around you can use.
Force the langauge to be English by adding '&sap-language=E'
Please try this for the side-effects report and I am sure you will get it in English.

NAC Agent reporting never shows a failure

I seem to only get reports for successful agent logins under Device MGMT>Clean Access>Clean Access Agent>Reports. Am I missing a setting somewhere? Even though I have had many failures (testing, etc) I never see a failed report. Any ideas?

Could you please confirm what error message you are getting on the NAC agent (if using the NAC agent for posture validation)? The NAC agent will display the standard stuff such as 'temporary access', etc. The message displayed is based upon which requirement is failing, for example a standard AV installation check/rule.
Also, for this failing client, do you see a passed report or no report at all? Well, for the agents that ultimately pass posture assessment (even if a particular check/rule fails) we see a passed report. If the agent never gains access, IE never gets out of 'Temporary Access' we don't see any report. I am hoping that when a Agent fails posture assessment we will see a failed report. IE, we need a way for the service desk to be able to monitor failed sessions proactively, and with the minimal external alerts available (no email, etc) these failed reports would be key.
If we can't see no report at all, there may be something that breaks before that. I have pages and pages of successful reports, but not a single failed report.
A quick way to verify would be to collect the NAC agent's logs after a failure, under
Start > Program Files > Cisco > Client Utilities > Cisco Log Packager I don't see this installed on any of the machines with an agent? Please adivse where I can download it. Thanks.

Generate or modify a workflow report to show Document ID

How can I modify or generate a workflow report that shows the Document ID? The 2 standard workflow reports (Activity Duration Report and Cancellation and Error Report) do not show the Document ID.

According to your description, my understanding is that you want to add Document ID into workflow report.
By default, there are only 2 standard workflow reports. Per my knowledge, there is not an OOB way to generate another workflow report based on Document ID. As a workaround, you can add a ‘Log to History List’ action to the workflow, and log the Document
ID. Or, you can look up the Document ID into Email, then send email.

DFS files never Show up at destination

Hi I have a server RJC-VAN01 which should be replicating 6 folders to RJC-TOR01. The files haven't shown up on RJC-TOR01. From generating a health report it shows that the status of the replicated folders are "Indeterminate" and there is an
error on Backlogged Receiving Transactions
Checking the event logs of RJC-VAN01 I get an event ID 5004 saying "The DFS Replication service successfully established and inbound connection with partner RJC-TOR01 for replication group CitySeverEngineerTemplates."
Earlier in the event logs I do have an error with Event ID 5008 saying "The DFS Replication service failed to communicate with partner RJC-TOR01 for replication group CitySeverEngineerTemplates. This error can occur if the host is unreachable, or if
the DFS replication service is not running on the server." It also says Error: 1722 (The RPC Server is unavailable).
I have tried turning off the firewall on both RJC-VAN01 and RJC-TOR01 without result. I also checked the DFS services on both servers and they are running as expected. RJC-CAL01 which is another server in the replication group has
received the files fine so I'm thinking its related to RJC-TOR01.

The issue may due to a dirty shutdown, then the replication will stop. You can sync data by the recovery process.

RME cannot generate a syslog report.

Generate report to show all users and groups in Shared Services in EPM 11x

Is there any way to generate a report (like a migration report or job status report) which can be generated through workspace/shared services 11.1.1.3 so that my admin can look at all the users and groups created. Something that I can view and probably print out? Any suggestions?

If you open the recovery drive (partition) it should only have a single folder (Recovery).
To make sure that your not saving restore points to that drive.
See:
Start, Control Panel, System, System Protection tab. Make sure the D drive partition is set to OFF so that it does not save there.

Generate a report that shows all customers that have changed groupcodes

We use our groupcodes on the business partner to define retail customers, wholesale customers or vendors. I have been requested to generate a report by data range any customers who have changed from retail to wholesale.
The information can be viewed via the change log one record at a time, but the user is requesting a report by date range. So they can say in the last 30 days what customers were retail and are now wholesale.
How can I access the data in the change logs?

There is a 3rd party tool for SAP that can generate standard ALV reports. It is based on an sql editor, and the report can be generated with a few clicks.

IMac Retina has started shutting down several times a day, generating a "Panic Report".

Although I have had a new iMac Retina since October, it is only within the past few weeks that I have started trying to use it for most purposes. Initially, it seemed to be working OK. But during the past week, it has started to do peculiar things, such as:
1. Now, several times a day, it shuts down unexpectedly. When I boot it back up, it displays a message saying that it was shut down because of a problem. Then, when I click on the window for a report of the problem, it generates a long “Panic Report”.
2. When it boots back up, it automatically opens several windows that I did not have open when it shut down — Safari, Firefox, Excel, Word, etc.
3. I have 2 external 1gb drives connected for data, and 2 external 4gb drives connected for Time Machine backups. All of the drives have been formatted Mac OS Extended (Journaled). However, although Finder originally showed all 4 of those drives, Finder now always omits a particular one of the 1gb drives. Yet, iDrive and Time Machine continue to recognize all 4 drives.
4. Several times over the past week, it suddenly popped up a “Jabber" window containing a long transcript of a series of iPhone texts that I exchanged in January. However, I never installed Jabber (to my knowledge), and it doesn’t show as currently installed on any of my devices.

Difference in the appearance of HTML vs. Standard reports generated with the Report Generation VIs?

When I generate a "Standard Report" (to a printer or PDF) with the attached code, the output looks like this:
If I instead use the same code to generate an HTML report, the output looks like this:
Can anyone explain why the HTML output has had the extra spaces stripped out of it?
Is there anything I can do to prevent it from happening?
VI is attached (LV v11.0.1f2) but this is what it looks like...

OK, thanks. I guess I'll end up living with it the way that it is because
using either method seems to also have the side effect of causing the output to become double-spaced and
the only reasonable place to implement the change (so that it did not also impact the "standard report" output) would be within the report generation VIs and I'd rather not be modifying them.

What Side-Effects/Problems Can I Expect With Perian?

I have installed Perian in order to view downloaded .flv videos from Vimeo.
However, I seem to recollect a year or so ago, that some people were experiencing unwanted side-effects with other apps such as FCE.
I can't remember what these were or how to stop them other than by uninstalling Perian.
Any information on things to be aware of would be appreciated.

That reassures me . . . touch wood (aka knock on wood!).
I shall now forget that I have it installed but hope that someone will remind me if any of my pro apps start misbehaving!
Incidentally, yesterday I downloaded some 1080 x 720 HD videos from Vimeo made by friends, and when played back on my 40" Bravia via the WD HDTV they look very impressive. The MP4 ones play immediately on the TV but the FLVs need converting in Streamclip to MP4 (H.264 and AAC).
The only fault is that some occasionally show a very slight glitch, almost like a dropped frame, but it is not very noticeable unless you are looking for it. No doubt I will discover what I am doing wrong in the near future.
A couple of years ago I could never have imagined getting anything so good from the internet via a telephone line . . . . . I wonder when it'll be providing 1920 x 1080!

Switching from HTTP to HTTPS - adverse side effects???

Hi everybody,
what are the possible adverse side effects when changing from HTTP to HTTPS?
I could imagine that previously saved web bookmarks would not work, correct?
Links saved in roles will have to be adjusted in roles, correct?
Anything else?
Does anybody have knowledge/experience in this area and how do you recommend to proceed when switching a productive system from HTTP to HTTPS?

The web bookmarks stored on IE browser will still point to the HTTP service, not HTTPS, you will have to make the changes manually.
The URLS for BW Reports are generated dynamically, you should be able to maintain an entry in table HTTPURLLOC and get this switched to HTTPS. see OSS note 805344 for the same.

Alert blurs main app but never shows up

on very very rare occasions i've got a user reporting that a simple modal Alert blurs the main app but never shows up--which more or less blocks the app.
the Alert is generated by this method:

no, there's always text when this Alert is called & it works 99.99% of the time. display list? yes. visible? it's supposed to be but on the blue moon events it's not showing up, main app blurs but the Alert dialogue simply doesn't show up. the client says it's happened twice over the course of several months.
i can't reproduce this so i can't really debug it.
