But, i just found out that the 80GB mini on the US Apple site is £10 cheaper then the 40GB mac mini on the UK site...
weird huh?

I'd like to purchase a used iPod Touch for my child. I need capability to download/play songs from iTunes, download apps like games, and text message. Would a 3rd gen work? Buying a used Thinkpad - Warranty Queries

I'm thinking about buying a used x60s thinkpad. While the laptop was purchased earlier this year (according to the sales reciept), an online check on the type/serial no. indicates that the warranty began in 2007.
Can I confirm that:
1. The warranty follows the machine rather than the owner (i.e. someone who purchases a thinkpad second hand will benefit from the warranty); and
2. Lenovo will regard the date on the sales receipt as the beginning of the limited warranty (as the following document suggests: http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site.wss/document.do?sitestyle=lenovo&lndocid=MIGR-62780).
Assuming that both 1 and 2 are true, how would I go about having the "new" start date reflected on the online lookup? I don't want this to be an issue in 2 years when i've lost the receipt.

Welcome to the forum!
The warranty follows the machine, not the owner, but in certain countries you are asked to provide a bill of sale in order to excersize the warranty.
Warranty begins with the date that unit was shipped to the original customer. If the product had been sold with a three year warranty, it will end in 2010 regardless whether the machine is still owned by the original customer or not.

A single user license allows for having activated installations on two machines. An Elements license allows for either platform in many cases (recently not the case from what I've seen). If you have the disc, see if it contains the Mac installation files... if it does then you should be able to install them via a download as well. I cannot answer with certainty for the last question since it relies on the previous question. Personally, I would not let an inexpensive piece of software dictate an expensive hardware purchase decision.

but if you all have iphone 4's you should use facetime. it is basically apple's version of skype. Turn it on in the settings app then under phone then facetime someone in the contacts app

As far as I know you should be prompted for the password for an account that 'owns' one of the apps that requires updating.
If all of the apps with updates are linked to your account and that is the account that is now logged in, then you could try a reset and see if that helps : press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the equivalent of a reboot.

For some reason, I can not delete bookmarks. I did one at a time, then tried 5 or 6 and it worked once then no more. I then tried 1 at a time and it worked once the no more. This is a brand new computer (Win7) and FF just loaded about 3 hours ago.

Looks like FF tried to import some BM's from the Virtual XP installed, but did not get it any where near right. I need to completely delete all of them and install from a saved .html file.

Well, I did not see the exact problem that I was having listed in the articles, BUT the problem is solved for now.
I opened FF and the Bookmarks to Organize again. I deleted all of the folders and entries, ONE AT A TIME, AND IT WORKED. Evidently, for what ever reason, FF did not like "Batch" deletes of ANY amount greater than 1 and the HANG UP would occur.
Deleting one at a time then importing the good .html from a good file, loaded the wanted Bookmarks. Yea

This is cause by the way the App Store checks to see if an application is installed on your system.
Basically when an app is installed it is in the Applications folder and this is where the MAS looks for them. So it looks at your purchase history for the apps you bought and looks in the Applications folder to see if they are installed. If an app is in your purchase history but not in the Applications folder the MAS says you need to install it.
For normal apps this works fine but the OS doesn;t install into the Applications folder. So the MAS sees you have Mountain Lion in your purchase history but it's not in the Applications folder and so it says you need to download it.
Hopefully one of these days Apple wil fix this.

That is not part of Firefox. It is either an add-on for Firefox which you installed, or it is a separate program you have.
