More accessories required for Creative Zen Visio

I bought my Zen vission M about three months ago. I am very pleased I bought this versus the IPod. However I am constantly amazed at the lack of technical and product support for Creative in Australia where I li've. Sure there is a very poorly advertised creative shop in strathfield or somewhere. There are several Creative sites, many of which do not help. I also find that when I am talking to sales people even in Creative selling stores, they look at me blankly when i ask any questions on Creative products. Somehow I think the marketing guys at Creative need to get out there and contact and educate retailers on what a great competitor (only) to the Apple iPod which I personally believe is overrated and very dependant on a follow-the-masses syndrome ie. its cool to have an IPod. well after owning a Creative Vision M for nearly 3 months I reckon it is way cooler.. Only thing is that the support for it including the hard to understand zencasts without the video capacity at the moment (v.disappointing)> I really think that Creative product team and marketing need to address this otherwise they will find it hard to compete with the inferior apple iPod. Creative are shooting themselves in the foot by not lifting their game and trying to be more of a head to head competitor to Apple. Creative by the way in my opinion is much better and quality product. We just need the manufacturers and marketers of Creative to believe this and demonstrate what we the Zen play owners know...that it can beat the iPod hands down, no question about that.

  • Are there any cases for creative zen visio

because i'v looked everywhere and alls i could find was the pouch that comes with it and the leather pouch that i found on this creative web site. got any suggestions

I'm glad to see Creative have a case at least, but I've not heard of any others. I'm sure given time, and if the player proves popular, other cases will appear. It's worth emailing case manufacturers such as Vaja (if you are rich!) to register interest, as this often spurs them to produce one.

  • Requirements for Creative Suite 4

We have a Apple iMac G4/1.0, w/ OS X upgrade & an added 1GB RAM. Do you think we have the minimum requirements for Creative Suite 4?

Hello Sgtgold30 and welcome to discussions,
" Do you think we have the minimum requirements for Creative Suite 4? "
I doubt that buying, installing and using this software is going to be a pleasing experience on that particular Mac. The following " specs " are pasted from the Adobe website...
    Mac OS
    PowerPC® G5 or multicore Intel® processor
    Mac OS X v10.4.11–10.5.4
Java™ Runtime Environment 1.5 required for Adobe Version Cue® Server
1GB of RAM or more recommended
10.3GB of available hard-disk space for installation; additional hard-disk space required during installation (cannot install on a volume that uses a case-sensitive file system or on flash-based storage devices)
1,024x768 display (1,280x800 recommended) with 16-bit video card
Some GPU-accelerated features require graphics support for Shader Model 3.0 and OpenGL 2.0
    DVD-ROM drive
QuickTime 7.4.5 software required for multimedia features
Broadband Internet connection required for online services
It might just work. It might take hours and hours to work though.
    Regards.
    Ian.

  • Can't install drivers for Creative Zen 'Data Inval

I have just bought a 8gb Creative Zen but everytime I try to install it I keep getting the message "There is a problem with this hardware (Creative Zen) An error occurred during the installation of the device, The data is invalid" and when I go into device manager and click on the properties in there for the Zen (Which has a yellow iconon it) it says
"This device is not configured correctly. (Code )".
I looked up this error on the Microsoft Technet website and it says [size="">"by clicking Update Driver, which starts the Hardware Update wizard. If updating the driver does not work, see your hardware documentation for more information." I have tried to update the driver but it won't update either.
I'm running Windows XP with Service pack 2
Any help is appreciated as i'm getting extremely frustrated.
    Jim

Re-installing XP might not, and probably won't do it. The re-install will keep most if not all of your Windows settings and installed files. It may repair or install files that are corrupted or missing, but that's about all.
What happens when you delete the entry from Device Manager and then reconnect the player? If it still installs with a conflict, you'll probably have to track down the application or device that is causing the conflict. Also that inevitable question ... do you have Windows Media Player installed? There have been some instances where Creative players have not paired with the driver correctly with WMP, but work fine with WMP0.

  • Downloads for Creative Zen mp3 player Vision: M (30

My new Zen 6GB freezes up in mid-40 degree temperatures and won't reset. It just gets stuck, then the battery goes dead, and it wont restart until fully charged again. When it's cold I can't even reboot it with a paper clip. If I leave it in the car for more than an hour the same thing happens. Is this a known problem I never had these problems with the godawful iPod. I can't imagine it's "normal" for it to be unusable outdoors whenI bought the black Creative Zen mp3 player Vision: M (30 GB) back in August 2007, and both discs that came with product are lost, and I need to desperately replace them. I know where the download section on the Creative website is, the problem is that I do not know which two programs came with my player initially, thus I do not know what to download. Can anyone tell me the names of the discs that come with this model so I would be able to download the correct two programs Thank you kindly. John it's 5 degrees above freezing. Thanks.

I'm pretty sure that won't work on a Mac.
Check the install disk, it might say what systems are supported. If not, look at the files on the disk. If they're all named like PC files they're likely for a PC. If the disk has a Mac partition the files will look like they have Mac-style icons and names.
I also note that Macs don't use an 'autoplay wizard'; that's a PC thing.

  • Having trouble with my Creative Zen Visio

I recently had a lot of computer trouble due to that fact that family members think they know what they're doing and delete things off of the computer that aren't supposed to be deleted. Today, I was forced to reinstall my operating system back to factory settings, so things that weren't working are working now. I have only one problem.
I reinstalled my Vision M, and plugged in the USB cord, to find out that my computer no longer, (and for whatever reason,) detects my Vision M. Which is extremely annoying, seeing as I'd like to upload some songs to it sometime in the near future.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Creative Zen Xtra 40 GB
    purchased May 2005
I have encountered similar problems with my Zen when overhauling or re-programming parts of my computer. The current firmware for your player requires the most recent drivers, Windows drivers, and Windows plug-ins in order to detect your player. I suggest you visit the Creative Downloads page for your player and make sure these programs have been properly installed on your computer.
I currently use Mediasource Organizer as my principle program for manipulating and transferring content. However, I occasionally use Creative's older media organizer, Playcenter 3, and for this I require a specific Windows plug-in for my operating system. Once installed and the computer rebooted, I have no problems.

  • Java platform for Creative Zen X-fi

Would it be possible for someone to create a java platform for the creative zen X-Fi?

%Re: Creative Zen or Creative Zen X-FIE hi
i have Zen X-FI 6gb only and bought it last September.
    i want to say that
Zen X-FI = Zen + speaker + EP 830 + wireless lan + more EQ( i think X-Fi crystalize is just another EQ )+ more buttons.
i love the player and the headphone.
    the sound is clear.
but i seldom use the wireless function.
and i think the battery isn't strong enough for me.
my fingers aren't to big to handle the buttons so it isn't a problem.
fortunately, the player works fine except the sortware.it is a little bit confused.
    this is my opinion.

  • Creative Mediasource for Creative Zen (2-38

    Hey everyone,
I am well aware that the current version of Creative Mediasource is not available for the Creative Zen. Now I figured that eventually they would make a version compatible with the Zen. I'm currently up to my 3rd Generation of Creative Mp3 players (from Zen Touch to Zen Vision: M to Zen 32 gb ), and I constantly used Creative Mediasource to edit the track information, usually the genres which awere so totally confused (Hip Hop should never be associated with Country :S). However, now that the Zen operates through Windows Media Explorer, instead of being able to select whole cds and right clicking them to 'edit genre', I now have to individually select each song and rewrite the details.. this could be a problem in the near future; I just got my mp3 player last tuesday, and though right now i'll manage, my media database is a little off in terms of assortment, and editing 600 tracks manually seems to be a rather tedious task >.< So, my question is(are):
When (if they ever decide to do so) will a Creative mediasource version for the Creative Zen be released?
Is there a faster method that I'm unaware of to edit the tracks?
I did take the time to look through the forums before I wrote this, taking the precautions by searching for Creative Mediasource, Creative Mediasource Zen flash, etc. Thanks in advance!

Well, I usually avoid Windows Media Player because the computer I use is also used by the rest of the family, and every once in a while it chooses to autosync music onto my Zen.. but if you say it's useful to edit multiple ID3 Tags (so that's the official name for them, oh..), i'll give it another try. And I'll try MediaMonkey too, because it sounds like the program was made specifically to make ID3 tag updating easier.
    Thanks for all your help!

  • Desperate: Driver for Creative Zen 2

I got my creative zen (model id=dap-hd004) from friends, it so cool. But i have problem conecting it to my computer, the version is .00.06. My friend told me the the version is too old and needed to be updated. But how?
I even could not conect it to my computer, because i got it without any software included. Just the player, data cable and the charger.
Wish some one could tell how to get the driver to upload songs and update the firmware version.
I found some drivers but the version was not the same with my player, and it always says that i must conect the player to my conected player. Help me please.......

Are you referring to the model Zen 20 Gb where the surface look like a big size Zen Micro? If it is, I think there are no firmware upgrade for this model. Even if you go creative website, the instruction on the page say the download firmware is the same version as the one that come pre-loaded in the player when you first open up the box.
Not all models have firmware upgrades. So for this model I guess it is pretty stable so there are no upgrade? Or there are not enuff customers using this model? :smileytongue:

  • URGENT: Any drivers for Creative Zen

    Hey, somebody.
I've written to the support but it takes so long time so I hope someone here will answer sooner.
I bought a new Zen V and installed all the **bleep** on the CD, after that the manual says that I sholud connect my mp3 and load it, then start to use it. My problem here is that my computer doesn't find the mp3player. The usb device can't find any drivers at all in windows, i've also tried the CD to find any drivers. Not a **bleep** there either.
Please help me, where can I find driver to make the computer find the player. I really need to use my mp3, I have tinnitus and music is my only cure.
    Thankful for ANYthing!
    /Josefine

joSSan: Please refrain from using profanities on this forum, as this is a public forum we try to keep clean.
As to your problem, the drivers for the Zen V are actually built into Windows XP Service Pack & 2, so they are not on the CD. If Windows is telling you it can't find the driver, the first thing you need to check is your Service Pack.
    http://us.creative.com/support/kb/article.asp?l=3&sid=4275
Try going through the KnowledgeBase article above, especially the "For Windows XP Users" section, as it applies to your case. One other thing you may want to try is a different USB port, preferably one on the BACK of the computer. Those ports tend to have less issues with mp3 players.
Good luck, and let us know how it goes!

  • Accessories/Cases for a Zen Tou

Does anyone have any good links to websites or stores selling attracti've and useful cases for the Zen Touch?
I've found very little...a couple leather cases on eBay that apparently fit the Zen Touch (but were designed for PDA's), and a UK website selling the Exspect (sic) black, clear, and grey cases in 3-packs...for something like 28 pounds (about $40 or so). Why I would need THREE cases for one MP3 player is beyond me...if all I wanted was a fashion accessory I would have bought an iPod. :smileytongue:
Does anyone have suggestions or sources for nice cases or other accessories for my Touch?

Here's one I was looking at when I considered the Touch:
