More Advanced Video FX effects

I'd like to know where I can find the distortion and transparency effects for Advanced Video FX you can see athttp://www.mylivecam.com/howtos/arti...d=60507&page=1. Anyone know?
BTW, the "help" found on that site is sorely lacking. This page is supposed to be the software guide for Advanced Video FX and doesn't help me at all...

Thanks Jason, but I had found this file already. Particularly, I'm wanting to remove some of my own video effects that I created using the 'Creator' Software (which is really cool btw) because they just ended up looking dumb (my fault, not the software). Specifically, these do not show up in the mentioned folder. I removed the originals from the folder: C:\Documents and Settings\My Documents\Live! Cam FX Creator, yet they remain as a working option in my Video FX drop-down menu. Thanks again.

  • Live! Effect vf-0080 help with advanced video fx required

Every time I click on advanced video fx it keeps coming up you require administrator rights. I am on Windows Vista and only have one user account which is also the administrator. Any ideas please?

    Hi n
You have one day more for Your project than in Sweden as Santa has to start
somewhere and home is close. (We start at about 15.00 24 of dec).
I would start with - if the music is bought from iTune store (a fix for a known
problem) to save it out as an audio CD (.aiff) else it will look OK till You try
Your DVD disk = No sound.
Then I would start a new iMovie project and from media button select photos
and drop one start photo from iPhoto down into timeline. Then I would import
the music from the new CD.
Cont to put photos one at a time into timeline. Change duration so that they
match the tempo in Your movie.
    Transitions
    Effects
    etc.
Save from time to time to keep safe.
When the "movie" is done - close iMovie and open iDVD and drop Your movie
project icon into this - or - use the import function in iDVD.
DON'T Share/Export from iMovie to iDVD - it will destroy Your movie by a bad
rendering work. iDVD does this so much better.
I don't know any way to use the "themes" in iDVD into iMovie. Sorry
    Merry Christmas !!!
    Yours Bengt W

  • How can I create a video with effects using my ipad?

How can I create a video with effects (sepia, B&W, Negative, oval or any other shape borders) using my ipad?  I would Like to keep a higher res and also be able to shrink it down to email or send in a MMS. Or should I just upload it to my PC and mess with it there? Some of the apps I have are very easy to use compared to the learning curve needed for video editing software.
    Thanks

Thats the Problem . . . how many apps do I have to try until I find the one I want? I noticed a few will render the video thus losing its original size. When I went to edit it more in iMovie the video was smaller--not good. And what software do you suggest, Templeton, for the PC? I love the apps because they are easy. I dont have hours to mess around on a software to figure out if its something I want. Im looking for simplicity. Maybe Ill get more into it later. I just want to record simple video of my playing the guitar for self analysis and create a short video for family and friends.
    Apps:
    iMovie
    CinemaFXV
    VideoFix
    Cartoonatic
    Video illusion
    VidEditor
    Software:
Windows Movie maker (wont accept .mov files)
After Effects (Too little time, so much to learn)
Wondershare (Very easy but little choices)
    VideoPad (Again. Few choices)

  • Media Encoder (AMC) F4V - none of the video setting effect file size????

When I used to use sorenson squeeze, mov  i could get a web flick down to 15 MB by reducing frame rate or size.
when using AMC - F4V - no matter what size or settings the same movie satays at about 34MB (with olny slight varistions if i tweek audio)
How do i get the file size smaller if none of the video setting effect file size????

In the limited amount of comparison testing I've done, I've found that 2-pass VBR files are consistently smaller than CBR files, all other things being equal. They're not always a great deal smaller, but they've never exceeded the size of the CBR files, and this goes for any type of encoding I've done, whether it's MPEG-2 for a DVD, or a web format like WMV, FLV (VP6), or H.264. This seems to be true even when the target and the maximum bitrate for the 2-pass VBR files match the bitrate "quantity" of the target bitrate of the 1-pass CBR files, and I've noticed this in any encoding application I use, whether it's AME, Sorenson Squeeze, or TMPGEnc Xpress. When analyzing my VBR-encoded files using an application such as MediaInfo, the average bitrate that is reported is never even close to my max bitrate, and is usually well under my target bitrate.
I see two reasons for this:
If you're encoding with CBR and set your bitrate at 1000kbps, for instance, the encoder will simply allocate 1000kbps of bandwidth (divided by the frame rate) to each and every frame of video, regardless of how complex or simple each frame is. Each frame will be compressed to as near 1000kbps (divided by the framerate) as possible. Using CBR, you can more or less estimate the end file size by multiplying the bitrate by the duration in seconds. Think of it as filling a series of water glasses: with CBR, you fill each glass full, regardless of how much each individual actually wants to drink.
If you're encoding with 2-pass VBR and set your maximum bitrate to 1000kbps and (for argument's sake) your target bitrate to 1000kbps as well, the encoder will use the first pass to figure out how much available bandwidth is needed at each individual point of time, and that writes that to a log file that the second pass of the encoder then uses to properly allocate those available bits to the frames that need them the most. If a particular passage of the video can be encoded at a lower bitrate, and still maintain a prescribed level of visual quality, the encoder will simply put the squeeze on a little more. Back to our water glass analogy from above, this is the equivalent of filling each water glass with only as much water as each individual wants.
For example, using the max/target bitrate set above, a low-motion/low-complexity passage of video may be able to be encoded at only 500kbps and yet maintain the visual quality of 1000kbps. This results in a fewer bytes needed to encode that particular duration of the video, and usually there are multiple sections in a video that can be treated as such. This has a cumulative effect and subsequently results in a final encoded video that has a smaller file size than it would had it be encoded at the same bitrate, but with CBR encoding.
I'm not a software engineer or mathemagician, so I can't back all this up with empirical evidence, but in real-world practice, these have been my observations. Long story short: I always use 2-pass VBR for web-distributed encodes, and enjoy both smaller and better-looking files, at the expense of a coffee break.

  • AVCHD / "Advanced Video Codec High Definition" & Cheap cams & Linux?

    Hi!
A customer of mine seems to have his mind set on the general awesomeness of the "Advanced Video Codec High Definition". I can't seem to understand why anyone would want to have a multi-track video editor work with that random assortment of specs - at least as long as it's coming from a (relatively) cheap cam...
So my first impression: "The cam costs significantly less than 20000$ and therefore the video quality can't really get noticeable worse if one just converts the video files with ffmpeg to whatever '60 minutes of video per CD' format it sees fits".
Am I wrong / missing the point? Do you have any experience with "Advanced Video Codec High Definition" cams & archlinux / gnu software etc that should concern me?
    Thanks!

So... does that mean, that usually the cams just encode with one of those "generic-jpeg-intel-codecs"  (or don't compress at all) and the client-side software (that isn't used on a linux platform anyway) or something else does the rest? Or what would be a realistic / common scenario?
Also: for someone who didn't pay much attention to "video standards" in the past, just to understand the general principle... which one of the following two is closer to "the truth"?
    (a) To ensure high video quality, it needs to be taken care of that in every step between the camera recording the raw video and burning the finished / rendered "movie" onto a portable medium, the software & hardware is capable of working with the advantages of "AVCHD".
    or
    (b) Someone obviously has been going around putting AVCHD-stickers on random objects and telling people to buy only those. If one just ignores those stickers, everything should be just fine.
And finally: Does anyone have a cam that says its "AVCHD" and used kdenlive or something & other open software to do a DVD of some sort? Was everything in between manageable with a "normal modern desktop pc" (no highend hardware)?
It seems to me like you are looking for some documentations so go there http://www.vcodex.com/h264overview.html and skip to the section 4 "h264 in practice"
Basically h264 advantage is for the same video quality, your clip takes much less space (or for the same space it will have better quality). But it will need more power to decode/encode.
Even a "low-end" camera like for example the Panasonic Lumix TZ7 (one of the best compact I think) offers 9Mbps, 13Mbps or 17Mbps when you record AVCHD. With those bitrates a "generic-jpeg-intel-codecs" will be okay. (actually the generic-jpeg-intel-codecs on the cam is a dedicated Digital Signal Processing chip aka DSP chip)
proposition (a) everything capable of working with AVC/h264 can work with AVCHD, it's just a marketing name, there is no special features.
Ensuring high quality is another beast, online guides and common sense help: the less you convert (colorspace for example) or reencode, the less information you will lose.
    (b) AVCHD just means the cam can record in h264 instead of DV or Motion Jpeg.
For your final point, beyond a bitrate of 3Mbps dual-core Core 2 Duo CPU feels really sluggish when encoding to h264 but they are good enough to encode to dvd/mpeg2 format. I can't say about kdenlive/openshot/cinelerra and other NLE though, but every open source NLE can work with AVC-HD (via gstreamer or ffmpeg).
Like Gusar asked, it would be great if you can tell us your workflow.

  • Webcam Instant and Advanced Video FX

I have the Instant webcam with the Advanced Video FX utilities.
The webcam seems to work fine, but if I open the fx window it don't detect any supported webcam. So I can't use the special effects.
I tried to reboot, reinstall the drivers and the utilities. Nothing to do.
    What should I do?
    Thanks in advance.

hey lonewolf can you rip the setupfile from the installation cd and send it to me via email ?

  • Creative: Why can I not use the Advanced Video FX program?

I'm told it's because I only own an Instant and need the Instant Effects camera (which is not released in the USA yet, or so i'm told) to use the program. If you go to the webpage for the Instant camera you see this big blurb "Free Advanced Video FX Software". Nowhere on that page does it say the camera has to be an Effects model.
I'm tired of jumping through hoops to try and get this software, im just going to get a Logitech camera insted, stick to audio creative, it's the only thing you are good at.

This seems to have been asked a lot around the net, however, there doesn't seem to be an adequate answer to it.
    I am running:
Operating system is Windows 7Motherboard is Q67H2-AM v1.1
    Bios is ACER ver. 2.10.1207
    GPU is GTX 770
    PSU is 700w
The Graphics card is plugged in to the 16x slot, the fans spin, but no display and no device is recognized in device manager.
I have tried a few solutions including uninstalling my onboard graphics driver from the device manager and going to upgrade my 600w power supply to a 700w one.
I think the issue is that I need to change the BIOS to PEG or PCI Express. However, in the Bios the settings for both "Primary Video" and "Onboard Graphics" are grayed out, meaning that I can't change them.

  • Help with "Advance Video FX software?"

If anyone knows where I can get the Advance Video FX software please let me know. My email address is [email protected]

So i kind of need step by step on how to do this.
The "if all else fails" method:
    1) Copy the "missing" VOB files from your DVD to your hard drive.
    2) Convert them to an iMovie '08 compression format.
    3) Import them into iMovie '08 using the "Import Files" iMovie '08 File menu option.
The quick, easy, and free method of converting the VOB files would be to download an application like iSquint. (It is the "free smaller brother" of Visual Hub.) It will handle either MPEG-1 or MPEG-2 files and retain their audio, has a "drop & go" batch interface for multiple file conversion and allows you to export to either MPEG4/AAC or H.264/AAC formats -- both of which are iMovie '08 compatible. If you are willing to spend $20 for the QT MPEG-2 Playback component, then I would recommend MPEG Streamclip (free) as a better work flow since it has many more features and would allow you to export to iMovie '08 compatible editing specific formats like DV or AIC.

  • Good resource for begining to advanced video information?

Hey there! I've been a visual artist for a long time working mostly in photography. I'm getting more and more into video now but the more I learn the more questions I have. There are terms being thrown around on this forum like encoder, codec and muxer. It frustrates me because I have no idea what these things are and how they are related to other concepts in video production.
Can anyone recommend a resource (book or website) that has explains the technical concepts of video from a beginning to advanced level? Id like to know what a codec is and how different codecs affect the video I'm working on. Bonus points if it also goes into detail on aspect ratio, pixel aspect ratio, digital and analog sound, framerates, and any other technicalities of video production.

I have a mac pro with OS X 10.5.8., I have a mac pro with OS X 10.5.8.  How do I update to a more advanced version of OS X with a download?

You need to go through 10.6.3 and 10.6.8 to get to 10.7 or 10.8. If you find that 10.6.8 isn't enough, open the Mac App Store and try purchasing Mountain Lion 10.8. If you get told it's incompatible, choose About this Mac from the Apple menu, check if the computer has at least a Core 2 Duo(not Core Duo) or better CPU with at least 2GB of RAM, and if it does, phone the online Apple Store and order a download code for Lion 10.7.

  • Synchronizing 2 or more QT video streams to 2 or more video outputs?

My students need to play two or more QT video files in sync (ideally contained in the same file) to two or more video outputs. We have an app. called Modul8 which can do this but it's way to complex for operation in an art gallery installation. Does anyone have any suggestions?

ah, found the answer, the irrelevant video needs to be set to fullScreenTakeOver=false, and then when it's the relevant video, the same property needs to be set to true.
