More configurable kiosk mode of Internet Explorer needed

Hello
Kiosk mode of Internet Explorer 11 (switch -k) is unconfigurable
Is it possible to implement following features/switches in IE regarding kiosk mode: -kioskresettime (returning to the home page after declared time of inactivity)
-kioskhomebutton (Home button visible while in kiosk mode)
-kiosknavbuttons (Back and Forward navigation buttons visible while in kiosk mode)
-kioskaddressbar (addressbar visible in kiosk model)
-contextmenuoff (disables contextmenu available from right-mouse-click)?
I need to have on the kiosk PC with Windows 7 64bit with touchable screen without keyboard and onscreen keyboard.
Can anybody help me?
Best regards

You may need to develop an application on your kiosk PC, the application could detect keyboard , touch event on the PC and navigate to home page after some time of inactivity.
If you want to request a feature on IE, you could submit a feedbact to IE connect.

    Hi RafałRatyńskiPF,
Would you please share us the present Internet Explorer version and the Windows system version you are using ?If you are using Windows 8.1 machine ,the situation may be a little different .
" -kioskresettime (returning to the home page after declared time of inactivity)"
I haven`t found a method of this activity.
"-kioskhomebutton (Home button visible while in kiosk mode)"
Do you mean we can configure the Home page ?
We can open with "iexplore -k www.microsoft.com "to configure the home page .
-kiosknavbuttons (Back and Forward navigation buttons visible while in kiosk mode)
We can use the shortcut :
    "ALT+LEFT ARROW   Back
    ALT+RIGHT ARROW  Forward"

  • How Configure Kiosk Mode to join an other linux server (by Xnest)

    Hello,
I have a sun-ray server (srss 5.2 on Centos 5.6). I want my sun-ray clients to join a linux server by my sun-ray server. I think I can do that by using 'Kiosk Mode' with Xnest.
Can you explain me how I can configure Kiosk Mode with a Xnest Session ?
Are there some sites which deals about Kiosk mode configuration with examples ?
    Thans in advance,
    Alex

    Hi Leo Laohoo
I think it is getting IP address
    Not in Bound state.
*Mar  1 00:04:08.123: %CAPWAP-3-DHCP_RENEW: Could not discover WLC using DHCP IP. Renewing DHCP IP.
    *Mar  1 00:04:18.127: %CAPWAP-3-ERRORLOG: Invalid event 38 & state 2 combination.
    *Mar  1 00:04:18.235: %DHCP-6-ADDRESS_ASSIGN: Interface BVI1 assigned DHCP address 10.0.0.13, mask 255.255.255.0, hostname AP6c41.6a29.7d2b
it saids it is getting the 10.0.0.13, but can not discover the WLC.... why it is not discovering it???
    that's my problem.
The AP is directly connected into the switch. there is no more connections beside this one. the WLC (Catalyst 3850) hasta the DHCP configuration, so, I don´t need an external DHCP server.
How do I know that the WLC module is enable on the Catalyst??? I activate the 90 ap evaluation license.

  • Flash Player disabled only in app mode of internet explorer. How to reenable? (Windows 8)

I have a windows 8 OS. Until recently flash player ran fine in both the desktop and app versions of internet explorer. Flash player is now only enabled in the desktop version and not the app version. I have followed the steps listed in the help section of the website and they did not solve the problem. Is there a way to reenable flash player in the app mode of internet explorer?

Wish I could help, but I never run anything from the start menu tiles. 99 times out of 100, it crashes my laptop and I have to force a hard restart.
That garbage is the worst thing Microsoft ever came up with and they should be sued out of business for it IMHO.

  • Enterprise Mode for Internet Explorer 11. Difference in how adding a site works.

I am noticing a difference in how adding a site to open in Enterprise Mode works.
When I incorporate a XML file created by the List Manager, containing 'http://mysite/mypath'.   Enterprise mode functions for the entire site.  When I say entire site, I mean pages in virtual directories also open in Enterprise Mode.
This is good.   But I for the time being I would like to put it on my users to approve their sites.
However, if I choose to not use a file and just allow the users to add sites, when they go to 'http://mysite/mypath' then go to Tools and Enterprise Mode to add the site.    We close Internet Explorer, reopen, enter the site 'http://mysite/mypath'
opens in Enterprise Mode.   But when they navigate to pages located in virtual directories, they display in standards mode.   And would need to be added separately by going to Tools -> Enterprise Mode.
I just want to know am I seeing this behavior correctly, or am I possibly missing a step.
Thanks in advance for the response and feedback.

    Hi David,
I am testing in my environment, and I will let you know if we have any result.
    Thanks for your patience.

  • Why does unchecking the "use automatic configuration script" box on Internet Explorer 8 fix connectivity errors?

As long as I have been in the job and we have been using IE as our browser, we have controlled the proxy settings with an automatic configuration file.
Recently, with IE8 on WinXP and Win7, we have had situations with the user getting various connectivity errors. By unchecking the "use automatic configuration script" box, they start working. But we don't change anything else.
These error are not consistent from machine to machine.
We are in a AD Domain environment
These are the two errors I have documented.
    Error: 5
Description: The 'Microsoft.ACE.OLEDB.12.0' provider is not registered on the local machine.
Access to resrouce is forbidden by server while attempting to access server at
    http://content.mpl.org/cgi-bin/admin/pwtest.exe?CISOVER=60.
Please check the permissions to the file on th eserver.
Two very different problems. Both somehow fixed by unchecking the box.
The config file itself has not been changed in over a year.
Can anyone explain why unchecking this box, but not making any other changes to the proxy settings would fix connectivity problems? These are all external sites that need to go through the proxy.
    Thanks.

    Hi,
You can use the steps in the following thread to disable this option:
uncheck "use automatic configuration script" in IE LAN settings
    http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/winserverGP/thread/05a7c683-075e-435c-8583-da8fd3559cf2
    Or try to
reset Internet Explorer settings and select use automatic configuration script to see whether it could work.
    Hope this helps.

  • Wont install Adobe Flashplayer, Says Internet explorer needs to be closed but no pages are open

i cant seem to get flashplayer to update. i even removed the other version and tried to install it then. it gets to 50% and then stops saying i need to close my internet explorer. everything is closed, so im not sure what to do from there.

  • Internet explorer needed

i need to use the internet explorer for my citrix client based business system. I cannot log into my business without the Internet Explorer. Where can I purchase this software?

Instead of using an outdated and unsupported browser, you may be able to use a newer browser like Safari, Firefox, or Camino (my choice) and use agent spoofing which forces the broswer to ID itself as IE, tricking the site into thinking that it is communicating with IE.
I use this all the time on troublesome sites. I use Camino and CamiTools - both free - but it can be done with Safari when you enable the debug menu by entering this text -
    % defaults write com.apple.Safari IncludeDebugMenu 1
    into a Terminal window.
Of course if none of this works, then you will have no choice, but I would give it a shot. IE is just not a very good broswer for Macs, especially now that it is no longer being developed by MS.

  • How to avoid Internet explorer needs for activation?

Internet Explorer requires me to click one time on the flash
movie to activate and use it. But i've seen that on some websites
this is not required. Anyone have an idea how to do it?

  • Internet explorer needed for itunes store?

I had IE on my comp - at one point it worked but it stopped working about a month ago; It won't load any web pages. I have internet connectivity and can access everything through Firefox... except AIM 6.0 and the iTunes store - which is really annoying because I've been listening to the same songs for a while now and want to buy some new tracks... but can't. Is there a way to get iTunes to work without internet explorer on a PC? Please help!
Dell Latitude 620   Windows XP Pro

Internet explorer is built in to windows. But you don't use it to browse the ITMS. iTunes is a self contained browser. Case in opint. I use firefox on an daily basis and can still browse the iTMS just the same. Your connectivity issue is completely different I'm afraid.

  • How To Stop Internet Explorer 11 Prompting To Display Full-screen Mode

Is there a way to stop the desktop version of Internet Explorer 11 in Windows 8.1 from prompting whether you want a website to display content in full-screen mode?
When it displays the prompt "Do you want to view youtube.com in full screen?  (Press Esc to exit.)", if you select 'Always Allow', it doesn't permanently remember this setting, as it will be reset when the browsing history is deleted.
Surely there must be a setting somewhere to prevent it from displaying this prompt every time?

In fact, I suspect it is something that a Flash programmer would know but YouTube would know for that reason.
    Robert Aldwinckle
I disagree, as far as I'm concerned it's a Microsoft problem, not a Flash programmer problem. In fact, more specifically it's an Internet Explorer 11 problem, as it doesn't occur in IE10 and before. And it's not a problem specific to YouTube either as it
doesn't just occur on YouTube, it happens on other sites as well.
It almost seems as though Microsoft changed something in IE11 and forgot to put a setting in either the Internet Zone Settings, Advanced Internet Options or IE Group Policy settings.  Something along the lines of:
    Allow display of full-screen content
    Enable
    Disable
    Prompt (Default)
Meanwhile, unless there's a setting somewhere to disable the prompts that I can't find, the end user has to put up with these stupid prompts with no way of permanently disabling them?  What was wrong with how it was before with just a semi-transparent
message that faded out after a couple of seconds which said "Press ESC to exit full screen mode"?  Why the need for an annoying distracting prompt that requires user interaction as well?  And even if there is a reason (which I'd be fine with), why
is there no option to disable it like you can with other prompts?
If it's something that a Flash programmer would know, then maybe someone needs to let Microsoft's own Flash programmer's know about it:

  • Internet Explorer 11 "Enterprise Mode" do not work or do not work correctly!

    Dear community,
Since yesterday we test the Feature "Enterprise Mode" for "Internet Explorer 11". However, we have many problems
with this Feature. We have configured it as described by officially instruction by MS, but it does not work
properly. Here is what we have done exactly to test this Feature:
In Registry Key " HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \ Software \ Policies \ Microsoft \ Internet Explorer \ Main \ Enterprise Mode " we have created the Entry " Site List " and create the string " Enable" . In the
String "Enable" we have added no value .
In Case of String "Site List" , we have specified the path to the XML file , as value of this String.
The XML file was created with the Site List Manager from Microsoft
And now, we regocnized following Problems:
The "Enterprise Mode" ist only "active", if the User(!) check "Enterprise Mode" under "Tools"...!
The site list is seemingly ignored, although in the Registry "currentversion" is pulled correctly, everytime we change
the XML File. So we think "SiteList" is configured well.
On one of our test computer freezes Internet Explorer 11 , if you try to hook the corporate mode
In Summary, it seems to be configured properly but it even do not work or not work correctly.
    Our goal would be:
Enterprise Mode + access to the Site List by IE11 should be "on" by Default!
Entrys of sitelist.XML should be filtered and shown in "Enterprise Mode" or/and the right "DocMode", as configured.
The user should have no chance  to check on or off the"enterprise mode"
We use "Windows 7" on all our Clients, as test Clients are also running the same operating System...
    Please reply
    Thank you very much
    Greetings!
Ps: Please do not be angry if pronunciation or grammar do not fit well. English is not my nature language (my nature language is german)

    Hi,
According to your description, seems the end-users can manually turn on\off the enterprise mode, If you don''t want this, you can disable the option.
Computer(User) Configuration > Administrative Templates > Windows Components > Internet Explorer\Let users turn on and use Enterprise Mode from the Tools menu option
Disable this option, user will not have "Enterprise Mode" under "Tools", after that, please run gpupdate /force to update the policy, and get "Use the Enterprise Mode IE website list" applied again in the target system.
After that, the enterprise mode website list get applied again, and user don't have an option to disable it.

  • Internet Explorer 10 compatibility with Moss 2007.

Hello , We are facing issue with MOSS 2007 and Internet Explorer 10.There are few out of box fields are not working at all with IE 10.
Lookup field – with more that 20 items in it.
    Date and Time
These fields do not work at all.
I know there is workaround of switching to compatibility mode, however looking for some permanent solution
Based on the following article I installed hotfixes of .net framework which didn’t help. Though I noticed same issues I had with IE 11 are resolve .
    http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/sharepoint/en-US/88505e15-d453-4336-995d-12c010c5ad49/internet-explorer-10-compatibility-with-sharepoint-2010-sp-2007-interface
    Thanks in advance.

SharePoint 2007 is fully supported with the following browsers, from Plan browser support (Office SharePoint Server):
Level 1 Web browsers for Office SharePoint Server 2007 with SP2 are as follows:
    Windows Internet Explorer 6.x (32-bit)
    Windows Internet Explorer 7.x (32-bit)
Windows Internet Explorer 8.x (32-bit) (includes running in compatibility mode)
Windows Internet Explorer 9.x (32-bit) (includes running in compatibility mode)
Level 1 Web browsers for Office SharePoint Server 2007 original release and Service Pack 1 (SP1) are as follows:
    Internet Explorer 6.x (32-bit)
    Internet Explorer 7.x (32-bit)
As well, IE 7, 8 , and 9 64-bit, Firefox 3.x and Safari 3.x are supported with limitations. If you don't have SP2 or newer installed you could throw on your nostalgia hat and also use Firefox 1.5, Mozilla 1.7, Netscape Navigator (!) 7.2 and 8.1, or Safari
    2.0 again with limited functionality.
I'm afraid IE 10 isn't on the list so you will need a work around. It sounds like compatibility mode works for you, how about setting up a
Group Policy Object that sets the compatibility settings for your SharePoint URLs in all your users's browsers?

I agree with Robear, it's impossible to install IE 9 in Windows 8.1, if you have encountered some issues when using IE 11, use Compatibility View list instead and test the result.
Meanwhile, if you're using Windows 8.1 update, then you can use the Enterprise Mode to control the behavior of some websites.
I'd like to share more links about Enterprise Mode with you for reference.
