More crashing iPhoto 6 woes

Question

I'm experiencing a crashing iPhoto 6 as well as others here. I've tried to rebuild the database, but it crashed midway through that as well. Here's the crash log for the simple "open": Download file. Any ideas greatly appreciated. Of course I can import the photos. But my wife has spent more than a year building the albums, and the backup is corrupted as well.

If deleting the Pref files doesn't work:

And creating a new library by launching iPhoto with the Option key depressed does open iPhoto then it is usually a corrupt data file/files causing the crashes. There is no way I know of to fix this. The only way to recover is to create a new library to import the images from the old library into:
When you launch iPhoto holding down the Option key this is the window you will get.
Create a new library or choose a library to open
Choose to create a new library if that is what you want to do, or choose a library to open by clicking the "choose" button.
If you click the "create library" iPhoto will open with a brand new library for you to import images to. If you click "choose" then you will get this window.
Open library
Navigate to where the library is on your computer, highlight it, then click the "open" button.
Now, if you had all the photos in albums, then there is a program called "iPhoto Album Extractor" that will extract all the photos in your albums and put them in a folder with the album name in a new folder you create. You can then import the album folders into the new library. If you had photos in more than one album, you could be importing them as duplicates (I do not know this for sure) Also, if there were photos that were not in any albums they would not be put into an album folder by the program so they would be missing in the new library. I am not sure if the program reads smart albums or not. I have a smart album set up in my library whose conditions are "album" "is not" "any". If the program can read smart albums, then you would be lucky (if you had this smart album set up) as it would gather up all those photos and put them in a new folder like the other albums.

If you decide to create a new library and import from the old:
How many images do you have in your library?
Do you mind losing albums, keywords, comments?
If not...
close iPhoto
-drag the iPhoto Library folder to the desktop
-launch iPhoto and create a new library
-double click the iPhoto Library folder on the desktop to open it
-the two main folders you will need to import are the Original folder and the Modified folder (only if you want to import the edited images).
-the Originals folder has all your originals photos unedited. the Modified folder has all images that you have edited, rotated, cropped, etc.
-Drag these two folders to the desktop
-If you want to save the edited image, find it in the roll in the Modified folder and drag it into the roll of the same name in the Originals folder. It will replace the originals and now will be the original.
-If you don't care to save any edited images, then don't import the Modified folder into iPhoto or don't bother replacing the edited image with the original image like I just described.
-If you import the Originals folder into iPhoto you will have all your originals in their named rolls.
-If you import the Originals and Modified folders into iPhoto, you will have all of the being in the originals folder in the finder. The roll with the same name as the other will have a _1 appended to it's name (in the finder)
-the roll from the originals will be next to the same roll from the Modified folder within iPhoto. You can then delete any of the images from there if you want.
I know this might sound confusing but it really isn't.
