More Customized Web Gallery Options

I'd like to see the ability to customize the flash galleries and add the ability to choose whether to allow right-click downloads of the images. I see the option is available in only a few templates. Also, a way to set a custom slideshow as the new default. Keeps reverting back to the original default slideshow.
Thanks.

I'm just going to upgrade to the new Aperture - hopefully that'll sort it..

  • Can't get "Send to web gallery" option to work on the iPhone.

I have been trying to get the "Send to web gallery button" to work on my iPhone for a few weeks now. I managed to get it to work once. I was directed to delete the gallery on iPhoto ’08 and then recreate it and make sure my iPhone was not connected to wifi and wait 1 hour, it worked once… Then never again.
I have an ongoing case open with Apple Care but there does not seem to be any definitive answer on how to get the option to work properly. One representative says that it should word fine, the other says that that feature was disabled in the last patch, (I had it working once under the current iPhone version 1.0.2 so I knew he was misinformed) I followed this Apple document and am still unable to get the feature to work: http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=306272
The Apple Care representative told me that the official Apple doc listed above was incorrect and that there was a better way to get the gallery to work and directed me to a Mac World Mac 911 article to resolve the issue http://www.macworld.com/weblogs/mac911/2007/08/iphonetowebgallery/index.php
I insisted that this was a work around and that the actual “send to web gallery” button should display on the iPhone the Apple Care representative told me that I was incorrect and that the Mac 911 article was the only way to get the option to work.
I actually met and spoke with the author Christopher Breen last weekend, and he agreed that this was a “work around” and that the "send to web gallery option on the iPhone should work. All I had to do was insure that I had my dot Mac account set up on the iPhone, iPhoto ’08 installed, a web gallery created in iPhoto and the option “Allow photo uploading by email” checked and published and all should be good in the world. Unfortunately, I just can’t seem to get it to work?
I am not trying to “bash” Apple I would just like to get this option to work properly. Does anyone have any suggestion on how to get this option to work?

It seems to be an ongoing issue the last couple of days..there's a few posts already discussing it in the forum. I found that if I sent the photos from my verizon acct on the iphone, it uploaded to the gallery fine..so it's a .mac account problem i think. Try it through another acct and I don't think you'll have a problem. It had always worked fine for me sending from my mac account until this weekend.

  • What is the web gallery option good for...

what is the web gallery option good for if it doesnt work on any other computer, other than mine? If i choose save "online" where do i find ftp server ? and what type of sites does this work on?

Saving collections and I suppose web gallery (although I have neverf used it) is really just a reference to file locations on your computer.  So it will not work for any other computer that is not exactly like yours.

  • How can you save a customized Web Gallery in CS4 Bridge?

While trying out some the Web Galleries in CS4 Bridge, I have customized several using the customizing options. The info I type in is saved automatically but if I change from one gallery to another, all the customized choices for colors, etc., returns to the default version. Surely there is a way to save what I have input? Kind of ridiculous if you have to do this every time you want to make a gallery. Also, seems that some galleries have more customizing options while others leave those options off. Is this just a bad oversight by Adobe? In the HTML web option, anyway to have it list the file number/name below the image?

I was surprised that no one wanted to answer this question.
    I waited long enough.
I still don't have this working properly

  • Additional Web Gallery Options Needed

I know that LR is not meant to substitute for a real web design application. However, it is intended to provide the ability to build photo galleries of photographers work for actual real world use. And as such, I find one thing about it that makes it rather limiting and somewhat defeats the point. I don't think most photogs who will use LR routinely are going to want to make one massive web gallery covering their whole body of ongoing work. It seems to me that many would be like me and want to create a collection of galleries that cover specific types of work, specific events, locations etc. While I may be wrong about how many would like that I am asure there are enough to justify even a small tweak to the Web Gallery capabilities of LR.
One tweak that would thrill me is to have just a bit more control and ability to add links to the galleries I build in LR. Again, I don't need nor request the ability to build large involved websites. But it would be wonderful and very helpful to have the option of adding maybe one or two customizable links that would aid in tying a collection of web galleries together. Even if I couldn't build a main home page in LR whose only finction is to provide a base to launch a library of galleries, it would be great if I could tag a link onto my galleries that would like back to a page I build elsewhere, or even to link a collection of LR galleries together. Just a simple url tag that sends a viewer back to a home page, or to a different gallery.

  • Editing Web Gallery options and Cmd-I

When I created a web gallery I did not check the option "Allow photo uploading by email". Now that the gallery is up, I'd like to enable that option but I can't figure out how to do it. The only way I've found to do it is to just republish the event as a new web gallery. That's not ideal.
I went to the gallery's web page but couldn't find a way modify any options there either. Am I missing something or is the only way to change that option is to delete and recreate the web gallery? If I do that then any links I have sent out to other people becomes invalid as a new URL is created.
I also noticed that the "Smart Album Info..." (Cmd-I) menu option is active under Photos in the menu bar, but it doesn't seem to do anything. Am I missing something?
    Thanks,
    Chip

Choose the Web Gallery in the source list on the left, and click the Settings button in the toolbar. You'll be able to change settings there, including allowing photo uploading by email. Even though the button says Publish, it will simply update the settings for that web gallery.

  • Tweak to custom web gallery side panel

Just a suggestion on the web gallery panel. The photo itself has a black border around it by default, and cannot be changed without substituting the code in the style.xml after production (ffffff for white for example).
Could you add an identical color box preference choice right under the Background / Border / to say "Image Border" ?
Was a beta 1 tester, and love everything about the program. Can't wait for the added features in hints by Reichman and Schewe - soft proofing, output sharpening (and syncing to laptops can't be far behind).

My more immediate suggestion just deals with enhancing the choice features of the web gallery customization. That is the real point of the thread.
Yes, Sean, I do catalog export/import with location shoots and extended trips that fill up CF cards and external drives, which for me is an early generation 40 gig ipod. This is a way to merge catalogs and move groups of photos, etc. What I am talking about is true synchronization that is more transparent to the user and gives multiple machines/users the ability to make changes to individual files without creating the catalogs. It will enable LR to work in networks and server catalogs, etc. One person posts all the metadata/another does the develop edits. It will come down the road and reduce the need for catalog export and import (my guess is version 3).

  • Plans for Additional Web Gallery Options?

Does anybody know if Adobe plans to add different web galleries to the preset choices in the future? Or if they will become available as plug-ins from third parties, or something?
Just curious. I like some of the galleries available now, but more options would be fun for those of us not up to editing the code. :-)
    Susan

Kewl. The LR galleries are definitely an improvement over pbase (at least the way I have it set up). This will be a really powerful tool for us web novices who still want to have nice customized galleries. Right now, alot of us just have the same nice customized galleries! :-)

  • Can anyone help get me started on making a simple custom web gallery template?

I have tried using the documentation and a freeware template as an example, but I am getting confused, and I think the template is over-complicating things.
I have a web-template that requires the following to get images to automatically work in a gallery:
Full size images in a specific folder
Thumbnails or each full size image in another specific folder
Simple HTML code for each image which allows for image title and description information
The script takes care of the rest.  So what I want to do is have Lightroom genereate the images in their specific folders, and the HTML code on the fly for each gallery I wish to publish to my website.  I'm posotive this can be done, but I'm having trouble customizing the code.  I've tried looking for tutorials and help, but the documentation on this is limited, and I'm not a programmer.  I do however have enough experience with basic web design to be able to work with existing templates with relative ease but this is seemingly difficult as I'm not sure what each file in the plugin structure is actually doing.  Any suggestions on how I can make a simple gallery output like this?  Or a link for a good, solid, easy, step-by-step tutorial?
    Many thanks in advance!

I have a Samsung Convoy flip phone. I am trying to transfer my pictures of my dog and nephews to Verizon online so I can show them off on Facebook to friends.
You don't need the intermediate step of uploading to Verizon; you can upload directly to Facebook from your phone.  You need to go to your Facebook account, and set up your mobile number; then you will get a personalized email address and you can send a text message with the picture and any caption you want to that email address and it will show up as a mobile upload on your timeline.
You *used* to be able to text a status update or a pic to 32665 (FBOOK) but that didn't always work.

  • Web Gallery Options Request

I hope that in the updated version the user can make galleries with presized and optimized JPGs. I enjoy making web galleries with Lightroom but often like to do my web optimization in Photoshop. At this point it appears that if I create a folder full of web images, the only way to create a gallery in LR is to allow it to resave them all over again. There is no option to leave them as they are.
    Hope that makes sense.
    Linda

Not as yet. Though check out
    Paypal in Lightroom Galleries.
There are people working away at alternative templates, but have not seen one like what you want, yet.

  • Help: Custom Web Gallery Themes

I'm currently creating web galleries for clients as I import images into Aperture, and using the "Proof" theme, but it's only available with a white background. I'd prefer a black background, but the only theme I can find is the Stock theme.
Can I create a custom "Proof" theme with a black background and import it into Aperture?

  • Create custom web gallery templates

This question was posted in response to the following article: http://help.adobe.com/en_US/lightroom/using/WSC8DB18E8-337F-46bc-89C5-5F7F7408696C.html

Can I create a tile layout that is 2x2.  It seems that Lightroom won't allow anything smaller than 3x3 and the display in my browser is tiny.
I want a 2x2 layout where each image is 450 pixels on its long side.

  • Customizing Bridge CS4 Web Gallery to fit my website

Love the improved web gallery option in Bridge CS4...is there a way that I can make it work within my existing website? I'd like to have my top logo graphic and navigation bar appear above the gallery on the same page so that it integrates well.
    Thanks!
    Mark

Thanks...I figured out that if I open the Index.htm page in my web site editor (MSFT Expression Web) and add the images for the logo and nav bar at the top of the page, the code adjusts to move the gallery down. That's all I need to make it work...

  • No image Metadata when outputting from Bridge Web Gallery (CS4)

I use the Web Gallery option within the Output module in CS4 Bridge to process my photos to the image size I want for uploading to flickr. However all the metadata data gets stripped out.
Is there an option I am missing to retain metadata?
Of course I can add back in any IPTC data I want, but I should not have to do that more than once, what I am really annoyed over is the Camera Data (EXIF) is gone.
    Software Details:
    CS4 Bridge (3.0.0.464)

Web Gallery (Standard or HTML Gallery)

Look into the Image Processor in Bridge or, better yet, install Dr. Brown's Services 2.0.2, a free, brilliant set of scripts by the same author as the Image Processor, Russell Brown.  It's like the Image Processor on steroids.

  • XSL, XML, and Metadata Names in Web Gallery Templates

I don't know exactly how to ask the question, but what I want to do is customize the information that appears below a full-size image in an HTML web gallery. For the existing HTML gallery templates, this is the area where "caption" data is placed. You can display just about anything you want there, but you are essentially limited to a single line with no ability to format spacing. I would like to be able to show mutiple lines and format the way I want, which would be pretty easy in HTML.
I have created a custom web gallery, and I have learned where in the transformer.xslt file the caption information is placed. However, I do not know what the metadata field names are, or more importantly how to place them in HTML. Does anyone here know enough about XSL to give me hand? Any kind of direction would be greatly appreciated.

    Try John Nack's blog
there was some initial info there.
Also Sean McCormack has done a lot of work on hacking the templates
