More days in week view

Found a tip recently to change the dafault number of days within the week view of Calendar:
Change to 14 days:
Close Calendar
Open Terminal
enter following command within Terminal:
defaults write com.apple.iCal CalUIDebugDefaultDaysInWeekView XX
XX to be replaced by the amount of days you want to show!
Resetting it to the default of 7 days:
Same code within Terminal, XX replaced by 5 or 7......

Apple Discussions is just a user-to-user forum. You should not expect any response from an Apple employee.
Also, check your settings in:
System Preferences...>International>Formats>Dates>Customize.
There will be a Show: field which has Short/Medium/Long/Full. I am not sure which one fills iCal. Change them one at a time and experiment with individual settings.
As you can see the International Preference has additional time settings in:
System Preferences...>International>Formats>Times>Customize.
I am not using Leopard, so I am not certain about the exact configuration of that preference pane.

  • Wrong month displayed in day and week views

I recently noticed that whereas the current month is displayed correctly in Month view, in Day and Week view the date is displayed as in January. This has been the case in both February and now March.
I sync my iCal with my mobileme account and my iphone and these don't have the same problem.
I have removed my com.apple.iCal.plist file and rebooted, to no avail.
Any suggestions what else I can do?

Thank you so much Ferd II
I kick myself. Though too my mind it is not logical to look inside Language & Text for a problem with month names. I forgot that last month I changed the date format to yyyymmdd in order to make it more logical sorting things. I have now reverted to day of week, day of month, month, year, and everything seems fine.

  • Determining Hours Displayed in Day and Week View

    Hi there,
Even though I have determined the Day hours to be, for example, 7am to 6pm in iCal Preferences, and I have determined the number of hours to be shown on the screen to be, for example, 11 hours, I still have to scroll down to fit my Day's hours in the view. In addition, the non-day hours (i.e. midnight to 7am, 6pm to midnight) are still being shown.
Is there any way of removing the non-day hours, and in effect the scrollbar so that on opening iCal, the correct hours as I have determined them are displayed?
Why would I want to open my Day or Week view and have at the top (what I would expect to be the first thing of my "Day") to in fact be Midnight (and go back to sleep)?
Am I missing something or does this not work the way I think it should, or thought it did?

  • ICal events disappear only in Day and Week views

Using iCal 3.0.2, I have suddenly acquired a new behavior. Several "subscribed" calendars appear fine in Month view, but their events do not appear in Day or Week view.
I have deleted Caches > com.Apple.iCal and I have deleted Libraries > Calendars > Calendar Cache. Neither has had any effect. I also tried deleting Preferences > com.Apple.iCal.
Any ideas on how to be able to see these events in the Day or Week views?
    Thanks very much,
    Gus

Still no date headings when my calendar is views in the Day and Week views. All of my appointments are there. The days of the month appear in Month view. But when I change to week or day, I don't know what day I'm looking at because there are no dates. Only "2010" appears in the upper left.
Any ideas? I couldn't be the only one this has happened to!
    Thanks, Wendy

  • ICal Date Headings Missing from Day and Week Views

    Good morning,
A few days ago, the date headings disappeared from the Day and Week views in iCal. I can see the date heading in Month view, but when I switch back, the dates are missing. All of my events are there, and correct.
I have resolved font duplications and restarted iCal, to no avail.
    Thanks for your help.

  • View iCal's day and week view in reverse chronological order

    Greetings iCalers,
When I think about day/week calendars, with the Y-axis being times of the day as in iCal's day/week views (e.g. "3:00 AM", and "5:00 PM" are in the leftmost column), I think about times building up to midnight from the bottom—i.e. the day starts at 12:00 AM on the bottom, with 1:00 AM above that, and the day ends with 11:59 PM on the top. I've learned that this intuition is atypical, and all calendaring systems I've come across work in the reverse direction, in line with the majority of people's intuitions.
I'm wondering if there's a way to get iCal to display in the reverse-chronological order. I suspect there isn't, and I've never seen a terminal command or apple script for it, but I'm hoping there is. If anyone know and could post it here, that would be great!
    Thanks!

It's cool, I figured out a solution: get over it and stop worrying about trivial issues to the point of excessive fussiness.

  • ICal won't show or print calendar in 5 day per week view

Even though I have checked the option under preferences to view my calendar with 5 days per week, it still shows on screen and prints with 7 days per week. Anyone have any ideas to remedy this?
    Thanks-
    Stacy

yes there is a problem with the web view formerly published pages timing out. that I need answers to myself.
regarding losing the option to publish in ical 4, what happened is when you upgraded your mobile me calendars it took all your published "on my mac " calendars and stored them at me.com which for now has no web view associated with them-they can only be shared by subscription.look at you ical and you'll see all your calendars now under [email protected] here's the work around:make sure her availability calendar is up to date. in ical go to file>new calendar>on my mac. give it the exact name of the one you had published. now select that calendar from me.com go to file>export-export the .ics file to the desktop-now go the your newly created "on my mac" calendar and import that file.-now with the "on my mac" calendar ical will allow you once again to publish. and if you kept the name exactly the same it should have the same web address-now if will only stop timing out!

  • Unable to see days in Week view.

I open my iCal, and switch over to Week view, but the days of the week don't display on the top. My brother's Mac and friends display the days.
I have tried to reinstall iCal, and also removed the plist file and rebooted, and days still don't show up. Everything looks good in Day and Month views.
Any ideas or hints about what to do to get the days to display while in Week view?
Thanks in advance for your responses!

  • Calendar showing numbers instead of name of day in week view

Mavericks Calendar is showing numbers from 1 to 7 in stead of the name of the day (mon, tue ... etc) in week view. Any solutions?

    dike,
If you refer to the Function Help in the Inspector, you will see that in Numbers WEEKDAY returns a number representing the day of the week. To convert that to the name of the day, you must wrap WEEKDAY in a DAYNAME function, as follows:

  • Multiple All Day Events Missing in Week View

    Hello,
I just got my first BB a Curve 8900 and am very impressed.
The only thing I don't like is that if I have more than one all day event on a particular day, in Week View I can't see them.
(I've used a variety of other phones/PDAs over the years and this is not normally an issue)
I've googled this and haven't found much relating to it, other than people not seeing all day events on the home screen or something.
Is this a BB 'feature'? Is there a work around?
I'd like to be able to see my week ahead at a glance and don't seem to be able to.
    Thanks in advance.

    Hello RobertBL,
I have the same problem. In week view i only see 1 event on days with multiple day events. I use firmware version 4.6.1.152 (platform 4.2.0.91). My Curve 8900 is T-Mobile branded (Netherlands). Until now i haven't found a work around. In other calendars (pocket informant and Agendus) i don't have this problem in weekview, so it must be a BB firmware bug.

  • Viewing extra hours in day/week view

    Hi all,
When I view calendars in day or week view, it shows me the whole day, from midnight to midnight. Which is sort of a pain because I don't generally schedule anything for myself at 1 o'clock in the morning so I have to scroll down to where my day actually begins.
I remember I used to be able to change this in the preferences where you set the "Day Starts At" and "Day Ends At." So I changed that to 8 am and pm respectively. But all iCal did was grey out the time before 8. It didn't make those hours go away.
Is it just me? Is the app buggy or is this the way it's supposed to be? Any thoughts?

    Hi,
I don't have a solution to your exact problem, but one option (if you haven't adjusted this already), would be to go into iCal preferences and choose a different setting under:
Show __ hours at a time.
I have mine set at 8, and although I do see some extra hours in the day, I primarily only see my working day. You can reduce this down as low as 6 hours.
    Regards,
    ML

  • Convergence U2 scrolls down to 11pm at the bottom of Day/Week view

I just noticed this on some SCSu2 test servers that I was hoping to put into production that is different from u1 and previous. When I am looking at the Calendar in Day or Week view, the events are scrolled up so that 11pm is at the bottom of the browser window. For many reasonable size browser windows, this means the normal workday hours are not all visible in the browser window, you need to scroll up to see them. Worse yet, every time you change the day, the view, add a calendar to the view etc, it jumps back down to 11pm at the bottom.
Did I screw something up, or can someone confirm this? It doesn't seem like this behavior would be desirable and thus be an option I don't think. If it works fine for someone else I can try to install a similar system and narrow down the cause. I see this with 137631-07 and with -08. Might it be possible to get an older copy of Convergence wedged into a U2 install to avoid this if I had to? There is at least one minor fix in -07 that I would like to provide for users. We are using -04 on the working server with U1. Thanks.

The time appears to be dependant on the browser client system time. So you should see the scroll time changing over the period of the day.
bug #6707198 - "Calendar - auto scroll to the current time does not works when switching to Day or Week view"
RFE #6856541 - "calendar server screen should be centered in function of the begin/end work hours defined by users"
I see this with 137631-07 and with -08.Behaviour also exists with -09 and -10 (pre-release).
Might it be possible to get an older copy of Convergence wedged into a U2 install to avoid this if I had to?What do you mean by "wedged"? You could in theory remove the -07 patch on a Solaris system (returning to the base Convergence package install) and apply an older Convergence patch (-04) however I wouldn't recommend it.
There is at least one minor fix in -07 that I would like to provide for users. We are using -04 on the working server with U1. I suggest you log a Support request to get the bug/RFE I mentioned above addressed.
