More fonts in Photoshop Touch?

How do I get a larger selection of fonts in Photoshop Touch?

If I recall, there was a handful of fonts available when connected to the Internet. (Not a huge amount but it was a list.) Not sure how it works now though.

  • Any chance for more fonts on photoshop touch for android phones?

I've enjoyed the app for a while now... but, i've run out of creative ideas when dealing with fonts.  is there any chance we can download more?

To get over this barrier, you could export your PS Touch project as a PSD or PSDX and work with it in Photoshop or Photoshop Elements. (The latter requires Photoshop; you can't open PSDXs in Elements.) Not exactly an ideal solution but it's something.

I was disappointed that I couldn't find an answer to this but I think I've got it.
Try installing HiFont from the App Market. It installs fonts on your android that work across most apps. Open HiFont, slide over to the Local tab. It tells you how to install new fonts to the program. Just make sure the font you download is a .ttf file.

Thanks Laparra!! Thanks to your original comment again-- at least now I know if I need a "work-around" I now know at-least-that-the original-fonts in PS TOUCH seem to work. No wonder the default-font worked.. but not the NEW COPPERPLATE FONT.. YaY, mystery solved.. (almost)!   [i wished they'd change that default-font..and get a new default font...Lol.. It's pretty homely looking..Hee.) I normally have been using that original TRAJAN PRO FONT.. but the letter "J" almost looks like a straight line vs a rounded J.. which at least the new COPPERPLATE FONT (which is a more normal usable font--That's not boring like aerial is,etc... ]. So yeah that will be great when all those new fonts gets fixed! // It would be great too (on my PS TOUCH wishlist, if someday they could fix the TEXT BOX too.. to be able to better & easily add A LOT [more] TEXT on a graphic .. as I always have to go to the "OVER APP" [That's the name of the app in the APPLE store] on my iPad to do that... PS TOUCH only seems to let you do TITLES vs a more lengthy text on a project. If I want to make an EASY border I take the image I've been working on into the CAMERA+.Plus App.. Simple..[but I know it can lose its resolution]. Sorry so long!! Venting haha!! Will plan to keep an eye on this post & let you all know & visa versa! LORD BLESS!!

  • Photoshop Touch 1.6 Fonts

    Hi All,
I have just installed the new update to Photoshop Touch. 1.6
The New Brush engine is excellent and a lot better then before (looking forward to more brushing being added)
However the problem I have is the Fonts. The update states that can now use Android fonts (or iOS ).
When I first tried this is did bring up a longer list of fonts. Although that was it. From then I have never got this longer list and it has gone back to showing the small (default ) list of fonts as in previous versions.
I'm using PS Touch on Android device (I have the phone version (on a Samsung Note 3) and the tablet version (on a Samsung Note 10.1 2014 edition).
Does anyone know How I use/get the extra fonts???
Other than that the update seems (so far) to be a good one.

The enhancement on Android for font is that, if the text is Non-ASCII characters, the default system font will be used. In the version before this release, those characters cannot be shown correctly.

  • Is there any way I can get more fonts for the online photoshop?

I know that this might sound a bit silly since I'm getting the services for free, but I was just curious if there was a way I could get more fonts for the online version. Maybe I'd be better off with the full program. Just curious! (:

When you say online version, do you mean you are using the Creative Cloud trial?
Photoshop accesses fonts on your computer, so all you have to do is purchase or download free ones from a fonts website.
Here is a website with reasonably high quality free fonts: http://www.fontsquirrel.com/.
    Good luck!

  • Can you import fonts into Adobe Ideas and Photoshop Touch?

Thinking about getting these apps and wanted to know if I could download fonts and use them in the apps like you would on a computer. Never had a tablet before either so just wondering if you could and how

    Hi there -
Ideas does not have the capability to add text to a project that you're working on. Ideas a drawing-based app that as of now is limited to drawing tools such as the pencil tool, eraser tool, layers, etc. You can watch a short introductory video to the features of Ideas here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=Pbu7oUO7lKg
For Photoshop Touch, currently you can't import additional fonts outside of the ones that are included in the app. To promote the addition of this feature, you can vote an idea post that was created on the Photoshop Touch forum: http://forums.adobe.com/ideas/1314

  • Photoshop Touch (psdx) on Creative Cloud files: wrong metadata and no more layer preview.

    Hi there,
Since some weeks all Photoshop Touch files (psdx) synced and viewed on my CC web account don't show anymore the interactive layers panel, the Kuler palette and they show wrong metadata such as document dimensions set as 500x500 pixels (sometimes the thumbnail is distorted as well as it was a square document).
I have older documents uploaded in the cloud that still behave normally. Any hints?
    GOOD ONES:
BAD ONE (actual file is 1024x768):

I can confirm there's something funky about newer projects (which always show up as 500px by 500px). Older projects show the proper dimensions.
I have no problem using the interactive layers option. Opening them in Photoshop CC is fine as well; they have the proper dimensions despite what Creative Cloud says.

  • Possible adjustments Adobe Photoshop Touch?

    Hi
For an event, we are looking for an interesting photo app that should be able to edit pictures by adding text balloons and text. These balloons will be designed by us and the text will probably be in Cooper Black.
My question: would it be possible to import the .AI text balloon file in Adobe Photoshop Touch (like a stamp or...), and can we pick the Cooper Black font on the iPad or is there a limited amount of fonts?
    Thanks!
    Bob

    Hi Bob,
Photoshop Touch wasn't designed specifically for what you describe but could be used. There are some limitations and considerations as the workflow would be a little different than what you described. I did something similar to what you described and will share what I found. Also note, Photoshop Touch is still being improved, so what I describe here may not always be this way.
I created my talk bubble in Photoshop CS5 using one of the native custom shape tool presets. I just created a large one with a stroke around the edge on a transparent background and saved it as a PSD, which I then uploaded to my Creative Cloud account. PS Touch is a raster rather than vector based application, so its not possible to import vector shapes (.AI files) or work with image data in a vector format. Text is vector when being created but raster once created. Overall, I would say that the workflow is much more labor intensive than doing something similar in Photoshop, just because this is a simpler less complex application so consequently requires many more manual steps.
Another significant consideration is what you are doing with images after completion, are they being printed, posted online, etc. PS Touch currently supports a max image resolution of 1600x1600, which is fine for images being posted online, but might be too low for some printing in some cases. The last thing that I discovered that I would want you to know relates to working with text, the software does include Cooper Black, and comes with about 30 different font styles (limited to these as they are built into the app itself). When creating text, one can only create a single line at a time (no return to make two lines) and it is not possible to define a set size (no point size option) so you would have to scale them manually to match. The last point relates back to vector, once a text layer is created it cannot be edited, so if there was a typo or you wanted to edit the text you would need to recreate it.
Photoshop Touch is probably one of the most complex image editing apps available on the tablet today but it’s not as powerful as Photoshop on a computer. This is currently not possible with tablet hardware and software capabilities. I have seen apps in the App store specifically designed for creating talk bubbles and text on images, I haven't used them but I know they exist. If it were me I would probably explore all my options (software on tablets is generally much less expensive than desktops anyway). Even if Photoshop Touch wasn't the perfect match for this exact workflow it might be worth the investment just to have it in your arsenal of tools for other editing or image alterations.
    Hope this helps,
    -Dave

  • Adobe Photoshop Touch Question / Issue

    Hello,
I bought Adobe Photoshop Touch some time ago for my Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9 and I liked it so much. Of all the apps I had for photo editing, this one gave me all I need. I used to own Adobe Photoshop CS2 on my old PC so I wanted something for my tab as well. I was very satisfied by this app until my tab died some time ago. After a pain of service and repairs, the tab worked again but it had a new issue. Anytime I used the device on something more demanding (i.e. playing games ) the tab overheated a lot and the screen started to touch itself very much as, if it was pressed all the time. After some time of struggle with it I decided to wipe it clean and pass it out to a family member who would maybe dedicate more time to fix it.
Last month I bought myself a new device ( Sony Xperia Z ) and I was eager to get all my data on it and apps of course. To my sadness Adobe Photoshop Touch is not compatible with my device now, and it just sits there in my app list doing nothing . I could install only Photoshop Express but it does not give me the full access I had with Touch. I saw that there is another product called Photoshop Touch for smartphones and it seems to be the same as what I had only phone edition.
My problem is that I can not get this new app unless I pay for it and I do not wish to do that because I already paid for the previous edition.
My question is: Can I somehow obtain the Smartphone edition and the previous version ( which apparently is for tablets I suppose ) be removed from my Google Play account. I would purchase the smartphone version but there is no point in having 1 app 2 times.
I would happily like the staff to remove my previous version from my account if they would gave me the smartphone version and I acknowledge that the tab app was more expensive than the smartphone version and Adobe will not refund me the money difference nor are they obligated to give me the smartphone version. I am just asking if it would be possible because I like that app and it's such a shame for it to be in my app list and not be used. Thank you for your time in reading this and no matter what answer I get, I will be ok with it. Have a nice day .

I don't think you'll have much luck. PS Touch for tablets was designed for just tablets; PS Touch for phones was designed for just phones. Touch for phones came out a little later than Touch for tablets. (By several months, if I recall.) On the brighter side, if you ended up buying Touch for phones, you'd be covered no matter which device you had.
Both are very similar in function. I believe the only differences are their UIs; Touch for tablets is landscape-oriented-specific while Touch for phones is portrait-oriented. (Some elements are also placed differently.) I imagine this allows for maximum utilization of screen real estate and element placement.

  • Adobe Photoshop touch to Mac and back without adobe cloud costs & privacy issues.

How do I transfer files between Adobe Photoshop touch and my adobe creative suite applications on my mackintosh computer? I do not want to pay for additional adobe cloud services. In addition I have concerns over the privacy of adobe's cloud for certain images. As a retired plastic surgeon, I have used Photoshop for years to help with public and patient education. Final posted images can have privacy concerns addressed. I do understand that I can transfer a single layer from Photoshop touch back to the computer by mail or camera roll. procreate has a Photoshop export tool.
Where is Photoshop touches export tool? if the only tool is through the additional monthly charges of the cloud, you are alienating loyal Adobe customers.

Thank you for your help. I have finally figured out and shared my first image. The fear was that I was going to be charged a monthy fee just by using the service. It would be nice if there was a footnote with something to that effect. All I was seeing was the monthy and yearly fees.
Finally found this, boy it was burried.
What happens to my files in the cloud if I cancel my membership?
If you cancel your paid membership you will still have access to the free level of membership, which provides 2GB of storage. You will have a 90-day grace period to delete files to get your cloud storage down to 2GB (or to purchase additional storage separately if you choose). If you leave more than 2GB of files in your cloud storage for more than 90 days, you may lose access to some or all of your files.
Can I access Adobe Creative Cloud without being a paying member?
Yes, there is a free level of membership for anyone who wants to explore Creative Cloud before committing to a paid membership. To sign up for a free membership, go to www.creativecloud.com and follow the instructions to get started.
What do I get with the free level of a Creative Cloud membership?
The free membership will provide you with access to powerful file syncing and sharing features, 2GB of storage space, free levels of Adobe services, and access to 30-day free trials of all CS6 applications and other Adobe desktop applications, such as Adobe Edge preview and Adobe Muse.
I will now try to figure out the privacy issues next. In the non public folder, who other than myself has access to sensitive photos? Trying to read the leagal documents is quite confusing.

  • I am member of creative cloud, so how to install Photoshop touch on iOS iPad 4 & not pay $9.99?

I am a new member of the creative cloud and I have had no issues installing the creative cloud applications on my desktop (mac and PC), however my question regards installing the Photoshop touch app on the iOS iPad 4 device without having to pony up the $9.99 iTunes app fee.
    http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/adobe-photoshop-touch/id495716481?ls=1&mt=8
The above URL is the path that the Adobe website provides to download the app, and I can successfully access via iOS iPad 4. However it appears that I need to purchase the app for $9.99. It is not clear how I can use my yearly creative cloud membership to avoid paying the app fee.
Please advise if I am not looking in the correct place, or if I need to login via my Adobe ID to bypass this iTunes cost.
I could not locate an installation guideline on the Adobe website, so please advise.
    Ken R. of New Jersey.

    Yup, clear now.
I do like Adobe apps, but the price tends to be on the high side. I am a bit disapointed that the touch are not available via the cloud subscription, so I will stick with the desktop versions instead as they are more robust anyway.
I see that Adobe has removed this statement under the plans, when the link is clicked, so I am certain I will not be the only person to be confused regarding what is included.
Thanks for the follow-up, this was very helpful.
