More inactive versions of one program

Hello,
is it possible to have more inactive versions of one program/dictionary object? How to save them and work with them?
Example: I develop something and do not know which solution is the best. I consider 2 solutions and need to do some test for comparison. I have solved it with a new programm with a different name till now.

The system can create a version of abap object only if it's assigned to package, i.e. it's not a local object.
The system inserts the object in a change request as soon as it'll be changed.
The version will be created as soon as the request is released.
So only one version can be used, if it needs a old one it has to restore it.

Hello,
is it possible to save more modified versions of any object in BW(InfoObject, InfoCube,...) and then activate one of them? I know it is possible by ABAP programs, but in BW?
Example: I want to try some settings. But if they are wrong, I have to change it back manually. If I could save the old version and restore later it would be very helpful.

BW has no such a sophisticated version-ing system as common ABAP/DDIC objects are having.
This is still area for improvement. Hope people in SAP AG are aware of that.
Also I'm not aware of any 3rd party custom tool that would allow that.
Field RSOBJVERS used mostly in all BW tables for identifying version of objects can have only following values, so this is a limit as well:
A     Active
M     Revised
N     New
D     Content
H     Historic
T     Transport
BR

More Headstart versions in one database

Is it possible to install two different versions of headstart in the same database.
We have 212 installed and also want to install a version up to patch 12_4 in the same database for development of another application.
If possible what needs to be done extra or different from standard installation?

Yes, it is possible to install two different versions of Headstart in the same database. If you use private synonyms or set current schema, the database poses no problems (see also the information on Alter Session Set Current Schema in the CDM RuleFrame User Guide, chapter Runtime Environment).
If you want to run the Headstart-generated forms of these two versions on the same Client PC, or in Webforms on the same Application server, you have to take care that they reference the right Forms libraries. Patch 12.4 contains a new version of qmslib50.pll and qmsevh50.pll (amongst others).
In a Client/Server environment there are two ways to achieve this:
1. You can collect the right libraries of a specific Headstart version in one folder, and run the forms from this folder (Forms looks in the start folder before it looks in the FORMS60_PATH)
2. Run a command script to start Forms (ifrun60.exe), and in the same script, just before the Forms startup, override the default FORMS60_PATH.
In a Webforms environment, you can only use the second method. Run each Forms Server instance on a different port.

Macbook Pro mid 2012 starting to lag when running more than one program.

Firstly mah specs :
Retina, Mid 2012
2.3 GHz Intel Core i7
8gb 1600 MHz DDR3
NVIDIA GeForce GT 650M / Intel HD 4000
OS X 10.8.4 (12E55)
So, i bought this macbook about a year and a month ago and since i bought it everything has run fine, it has always been fast and smooth, until around 2 months ago when it started getting a little laggy in handling more than one program being open. Before this i was able to run Photoshop, Cinema 4D, Second Life and Chrome all at once and recieved no speed decrease what so ever. So i figured that it must just have been a little clogged up maybe, honestly wasnt sure but tried clearing cache, tried freeing up memory with some of the mac memory management tools from the App Store and non of these worked so in the end i backed up what was important and wiped the HD and re installed the OS. Annoyingly i am still having problems, if i have Photoshop open and i am surfing chrome it lags on scrolling web pages or loading links. If i have Second Life open i seem to lag with more than 3 players around me quite badly, even if i put Second Life onto its lowest Graphic Settings i still lag where as before i had this issue i could run it on its highest Graphic Settings and recieve little to no lag what so ever. This happens for most programs that used to run smoothly, if i now open Cinema 4D and try anything else.....the system slows down.
I COULD take this to the apple store and genuis bar and ask them to have a look at it HOWEVER i am back at Uni in 2 weeks and i need the macbook for my studies as i am currently working on a summer project and need it for research, can any of you Mac Wonders out there suggest anything else for me to try. I have checked the HD and it says its not failing and is verified and found no issues with the partition.

First, back up all data immediately, as your boot drive might be failing.
There are a few other possible causes of generalized slow performance that you can rule out easily.
Reset the System Management Controller.
If you have many image or video files on the Desktop with preview icons, move them to another folder.
If applicable, uncheck all boxes in the iCloud preference pane.
Disconnect all non-essential wired peripherals and remove aftermarket expansion cards, if any.
Check your keychains in Keychain Access for excessively duplicated items.
Boot into Recovery mode, launch Disk Utility, and run Repair Disk.
If you're booting from an aftermarket SSD, see whether there's a firmware update for it.
Otherwise, take the steps below when you notice the problem.
Step 1
Launch the Activity Monitor application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Activity Monitor in the icon grid.
Select the CPU tab of the Activity Monitor window.
Select All Processes from the menu in the toolbar, if not already selected.
Click the heading of the % CPU column in the process table to sort the entries by CPU usage. You may have to click it twice to get the highest value at the top. What is it, and what is the process? Also post the values for % User, % System, and % Idle at the bottom of the window.
Select the System Memory tab. What values are shown in the bottom part of the window for Page outs and Swap used?
Next, select the Disk Activity tab. Post the approximate values shown for Reads in/sec and Writes out/sec (not Reads in and Writes out.)
Step 2
If you have more than one user account, you must be logged in as an administrator to carry out this step.
Launch the Console application in the same way you launched Activity Monitor. Make sure the title of the Console window is All Messages. If it isn't, select All Messages from the SYSTEM LOG QUERIES menu on the left. If you don't see that menu, select
View ▹ Show Log List
from the menu bar.
Select the 50 or so most recent entries in the log. Copy them to the Clipboard (command-C). Paste into a reply to this message (command-V). You're looking for entries at the end of the log, not at the beginning.
When posting a log extract, be selective. Don't post more than is requested.
Please do not indiscriminately dump thousands of lines from the log into this discussion.

Macbook freezing when more than one program runs

Hello all,
My Macbook is about a year and a half old. A few weeks ago, it crashed catastrophically, and the geniuses at my local store replaced the logic board.
Since getting it back, it's been crashing almost every time I try to run more than one program, such as itunes and safari. Ichat video or photobooth on their own cause it to freeze. The freezing process is gradual; first the program I'm looking at freezes, but I can navigate to other programs, but within a few minutes those freeze as well. During the freeze, the cursor moves (in beachball shape) but the screen is unresponsive and apple-option-escape has no effect; the only solution is to manually turn it off. It's also taking longer and longer to boot up. This happens when it's plugged in as well as on battery power. It's gotten to the point that I'm scared to do work on it, because I can't trust it to work long enough to save my data. What happened? Is this the result of my "fixed" logic board or something else? I am getting SO FRUSTRATED by how unreliable my macbook has become!!

To rule out any 3rd part apps/additions are causing the problem, try booting into Safe Mode...

Have you replaced/changed Ram lately? ...if so, try reverting back to the old.
You could also ensure you've run your standard Maint. scripts (via Onyx, Cocktail etc...) and perhaps boot to the Install DVD to verify/repair the hard drive and its permissions. Booting to the Install DVD and running the Apple Hardware Test (hold 'D' on startup) could also reveal things.
Failing all that, try resetting the SMC and Pram...

These are all a bunch of general procedures that the user can try to eliminate the issues - if nothing works, you'll need to make another trip to the genius bar.

More than one program monitor

The program monitor shows the topmost video in the sequence. Videos that are stacked beneath it is not shown if you don't disable the top video track. So I would like to have an option to turn on another program monitor that would always show a video track of my choice. Actually, two extra program monitors would be even better.
I'm using a workaround - I have enabled a multicam monitor and set it to show a particular video track. It is helpful, but I can't play it in real time, it will only play by scrubbing, otherwise it is stuck on a frame and then shows the last frame when playback is stopped.
This would be an alternative to multicam editing, not having to edit in real-time, but having ability to see all the active video tracks.
I don't think this it's possible, but I wanted to make sure that there isn't a way to enable more than one program monitor? I'm using CS5.5

I haven't got it right... I did a test with three tracks, one nested sequence per track. I enable multicam for each one...and I only get picture from one track in the multicam.
If I make one nested sequence out of the main one (with all the video tracks) , I can see the tracks appear in the multicam - but I can't do any editing on the timeline, since it's only one track.
There's no gang option for the source monitor , but for the reference monitor. The reference shows the same picture as the program monitor.

Go to iTunes > about iTunes. What version are you running? If necessary, hold down the option key while starting iTunes and create a new, test library so it will start.

as far as I know, the SAP Business All-in-One Faststart program is bundled with SAP MaxDB version 7.6.03. Of course an update to the latest 7.6 version can be done.

Installing several JRE versions on one computer

Is it possible to have more than one version of JRE installed on a computer? I have a program which seems to run better in 1.4.1 than 1.4.2, but since 1.4.2 is the more recent version I'd rather have that. Can I install both, and can I 'switch' them on and off, or specify in the command to run the program which version it uses?
I notice that Open Office's installation seemed to be able to detect and choose betwee different versions, so I hope this is possible.

You can have as many JRE's on a single computer as you want and you can pick and choose which one you want by pointing to the right directory containing the java executable in your startup script/binary. You can also make use of PATH environment variable set the "default" JRE that would be invoked if java binary invoked without the absolute path.

I can't uninstall Firefox version 11 from my MAC, nor can I upgrade to a more recent version of Firefox.

I believe that I have a corrupted version of Firefox. I have followed the procedures both for removal and for upgrade that are posted in the support forums, and neither are effective for me.
I do not have a conventional Firefox icon on my screen, rather I have a grey question mark. When I attempt to deposit that question mark icon in my wastebasket, it just bounces back out.
When I have tried to upgrade to a more recent version of Firefox (and I've been trying to upgrade with each new iteration of Firefox from version 12 to the current version 32), I receive an error message that I can run only one version of Firefox, and the upgraded version is rejected in favor of version 11.
Additionally, Firefox version 11 blocks me from adding any other programs onto my Mac. I want to get rid of version 11. How can I do it?

Dear ideato--Thank you for your suggestion. While I was able to drag a shadow of the Firefox icon from the applications folder to the dock and drop it into the wastebasket, the icon remains in the applications folder and Firefox version 11 is still on my computer blocking every attempt to add a program or to upgrade to the current version of Firefox. Copy Inactive Version to Active Version in MC78

Hi PP Gurus,
I am not able to copy the inactive version (019) to Active Version (A00) in TCode MC78, it gives the message A00 already exists.
But when i want to transport the values to Demand Mangement (thru TCode MC75) it will ask for Active Version.
Please suggest where am i doing wrong?

The message what you are getting is standard and warning message. It is not the error message.
While copying from inactive version to avtive version (A00), this will populate, you just have to enter omce again, then you will get one more pop-up saying "A00 will be reset", agaian you have to accept the message.
Now you check your version will be copied from MC88 transcation by clicking on active version.
